the place where I nothing just know that I am quite Go ahead and call this meeting to order. First item on the agenda is approval of the agenda. >> I move to approve the agenda as presented. >> Motion by Allison. >> I'll second. >> Second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any opposed? Same sign. Motion passes. Next item is approval of the minutes from the 41326 meeting and the 4226 meeting. Any questions, comments, changes >> on that one? I did vote yes on the football. Like I think it was the delay in the maybe the >> I think there was a question on that. >> There was Okay. >> Yeah. And I didn't even realize it until I read the minutes. So yeah. >> So that would have been on the

April 22nd one. >> Yeah. >> So the correction is what? >> The bow is for the five. >> Yeah. with that if I want. >> That's okay. >> Very good. >> So, can I move to approve them as amended then? >> Yeah. Okay. >> I make a motion to approve as amended. >> Motion by Allison. >> Second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. I. >> Any opposed? Same sign. Motion passes. and approval of the treasures report. Any questions, comments? Hearing none, I would entertain a motion to approve those as presented. >> So moved. >> Motion by Allison. >> Second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. Approval of the invoices. Mr. Murphy, is there anything you would like to draw our

attention to? >> Yeah, so a couple a couple items on there. Um, we do we do have two months of graduation alliance credits, one for April for 148,964 in March, 153,282. So, we still have two payments left on our uh virtual graduation alliance for May and June going into the rest of the year. So, those are the credits that we talked about being really close to where we um budgeted for for the year. So, we're going to be really really close on those those uh those budgeted credits. So, we did have those two uh the April 148 and then the March 153. We do have the code footprint for the modular building. That's a blueprint with everything on it that we have to turn into the fire marshal and that's turning into the fire marshall

right now. That code blueprint came in at 9,000. The freezer repairs on there as well. That's $18,600. And then we have the gym floor that was already encumbered before, but we did have the payment for that come out um this month as well. So that was $11,200 for part of the materials for the gym. So those were the big ticket items on there this month. Normally we only have one graduation alliance. This this this month we have two of them. So >> any other questions, comments? Hearing none. I would entertain a motion to approve all invoices as presented. >> So move. >> Motion by Allison. >> Second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. Uh reconciliation and cash balances report. Those documents are on there

for you to view. Any questions, comments? Uh, and then recognition of visitors. >> I had Mr. Lloyd sign in, but he's down below under item nine, so we could just wait on that one. >> Item number eight, administrative reports. >> Uh, before we get rolling on this one, Miss Moore did submit her report to me. um she had a family matter this afternoon and this evening that she was dealing with. Um it's the reason she she wasn't here. So um I did go ahead and upload hers on there for you guys to read. So >> well here we are today. Hard to believe. Last week was teacher appreciation week. Our PTO provided lots of goodies throughout the week for everyone. We had um just different treats throughout the week. We had they donated some gift

cards to the teachers. They donated um like a there was a water bar for the day. There were coffee, drinks, and all that. So, we were really blessed that we had such a supportive group to come and support us throughout the week there. We had some um high schools, junior high and high school students come over to the grade school on a couple different days. And third graders had just finished up the book, How to Eat Fried Worms. So, Mr. Gonzalez's class came over and they dissected a worm. Um the kids were thought that was pretty cool. Um, and we also had the high school kids come over for a city cleanup and they had a we had a load of rocks brought in that they spread out along the around the playground. We had

our spring and art show and music concert last Thursday evening. We had lots of parents, grandparents, and um it was also a time that we could honor Mrs. Root for her last performance. Mrs. Robinson organized a career day for our students. We had lots of different careers that were represented. Um the one that seemed to get them all was the phabotamist um with her blood drawing. Um we had several kids in the office afterwards that were really squeamish and couldn't handle the the little straw with the red um food coloring in there. So that was kind of funny to see all of all the boys hanging out in the office. We did have um we have had several families call and ask for tours of our building. It's pretty exciting that um we have some

growth to look ahead. Um so um they are very interested in coming into our building next year. We did send out over four or right at 44 summer school invitations to both the CPES and WES students. Um we're waiting till this Friday to see how many actually responded can um come that so that we can do our transportation and get everything lined up for schedules. Our sixth grade student of the week, she's our last one for the year, is Lily Zinc. She is the daughter of Renee and and Bill Zinc. We are almost finished with our end of the year assessments. We've made some great gains this school year. I'm really proud to see those that growth for all their hard work. And then, as you can see at the bottom there, we have lots

of field trips planned for this week. We do have our playday and cookout next Monday. We have a half day Tuesday and then teachers checkout next Wednesday. So, any questions? Thank you. >> We also had um a great week of teacher appreciation. The recent grade for brought us all kinds of goodies. Um our teachers felt very very appreciated. So, it was awesome. Um we have completed our state assessments. We had 100% compliance on that this year. Um, our NHS induction was last week and our FFA Baywick was also last week. Music appreciation, I'm sorry, music program um was LA was the first and then they took their trip to Worlds of Fun that weekend. Um, and then Mrs. Root had a program last weekend. So, she has got to be one checkered out lady. Um

they've also done state music in there and state forensics. Um we had uh several students make it to um both of those those things. So proud of them on that. Students completed their community scholarship interviews for um their scholarships that will be awarded at graduation. um of the 22 seniors, I think we had 18 students participate um fill out scholarships. So, um I was I helped quite a bit with that this year to get them going. Um and it's pretty cool to see how much our community supports our students. It's pretty incredible. Um last week we had our KISSA check-in. We are on track with our goal, which was kind of exciting. Um, we did learn a little bit more about graduation requirements and post-secary success rates. Uh, she kind of cleared up a little

bit on that and how they're moving forward with some things. Um, we learned a couple of surprising things on that, so it'll be beneficial to us moving forward. Today, the sixth graders came and toured the school. Um, there were lots of lots of questions today, so that was good that they're feel comfortable to ask those questions. I had eighth graders take them around and they thought they were pretty special. It was cool. Um, we're working on our cell phone policy and handbook changes for next year. I should have those to you next um board meeting to kind of look over the changes uh that I'll propose for our handbook for next year. our activities and athletics report. We have lots of spring sports kind of wrapping up in the next couple weeks. Uh we've had

so much success this spring. I'm really proud of the kids. Um everybody's kind of still in their region or um league region kind of area except for tennis. They will compete at state tennis this weekend. We had five boys make it to the state tournament. So that's exciting. Um NHS hosted the community cleanup last week. We had it scheduled for Wednesday. Had to move it to Thursday because of the rain. Uh I included the pictures that I included are all from um things that the teachers sent me. My group I was so busy with my group I didn't even take any pictures. But um they all did such a good job and had really good feedback from the community and from the teachers that the kids were really did a really good job and were

really helpful. So um and then that afternoon the leadership class hosted the Iron Man volleyball powderpuff football and they had a trivia. So for you, >> thank you. >> So now item number nine. So Mr. Lloyd's here to visit with you guys a little bit about the district 2 board C application that he submitted. Um that is open. So I'm going to turn it over him to him to visit with you guys a little bit about himself, his background, and then why he would be interested more. So Mr. Lloyd, thanks for coming. Thank you for having me. >> Um just maybe as a starting point for conversation, my background is in uh educational backgrounds in physics and chemistry. I've spent most of my professional career as an acoustical consultant. So I did primarily industrial noise

control. So I'd go to uh manufacturing sites and design um engineered noise control treatments to make the environment quieter so the people that work there would uh not lose their hearing. So that's been primary focus of my professional career. But now I'm retired in uh living um out in the country between Dorance and Wilson and I saw this vacancy that was available and thought it'd be an opportunity for me to do something productive. >> What can I answer question from you? That was going to be my main question is kind of what your interest was or how you how did you where you saw that the seat was open or >> Well, I saw it on the ballot. >> There was nobody there and I wrote myself in, but apparently a couple other people did

as well. >> Got >> so uh that sort of started that thought process for me. But um I guess since then I'm Given the situation in Wilson with this high school closing and now the elementary school closing, I I think it'd be fair to say my primary objective at this point is probably moving forward with a land transfer and and maybe um making bringing that into fruition. And u and then just being on the board, of course, I want to get familiar. It's going to take some time to get up to speed, but but you know, I need to understand the budget and and all the things that are being decided and and participate in that as well. So, yeah. So, >> anybody else have any questions? >> Do you have any children or grandchildren

or anything? >> No, I don't have any children in the school district or any school district. So, um, maybe that's good, maybe that's bad. I don't know. It it gives me a maybe a little more objective opportunity to look at the issues and and maybe take take a step back and not be so emotionally connected. But still, I understand the importance of the school district and the decisions that are made here and at each individual schools are tremendously important and it's it's a function that I'd be proud to be part of. So, >> are you originally from that area or did you move into that? >> No, my wife was uh grew up south of Dorance, our farm. Um, but we moved back here in 2012. >> Okay. >> So, we've been here 10, 15

years. >> Loving it. Glad to be here. >> Anybody else have any? >> Okay. >> Thank you very much. >> Thanks for having me. Thank you. So then options with that um you know option one you guys could vote to appoint uh Thomas to the open seat. There need to be a motion made in a second and then if the motion passes he would take the position effective immediately. It didn't pass it remain open or option two if you guys would like a little bit more time to think about it and then put it on the board meeting in June we can do that as well. So get that right. >> That's right. A motion to appoint Thomas position to board. >> There's a motion and a second. Any other questions, comments, discussion? Hearing none.

All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. If you would like to to join us for the remainder of the meeting, Welcome to the board. >> Drill some points. All right. Um, item number 10 is our technology rotation. I'm going to slide this over so you can look. Okay, I know to me here because they have it on their computer. Okay. So technology rotation, we've been working on this for the past couple months, guys. Um, just the rise in the price of things with tariff charges have are crazy right now. So we've worked on cutting this technology rotation down to just try to get it in the ballpark of what we've spent in the past. We're not going to get near the amount of technology for our rotation

as what we've spent in the past. That's why we've been working to cut this down. So our last conversation revolved around the new teachers coming to the district there. There would we estimate between five and six new computers. Those computers run about $1,300 per computer. So when you do the math on that, that comes out to about $7,800. We originally wanted to change out and get all the clear touch panels completed and we had nine or 10 that we needed to get to complete the rotation for those clear touch panels. Um that does include bringing the ones from Wilson that we've used reap grants from from um they're not counted in that 10. But even right now for just five panels, the total uh bid for KCAB is $23,356 for five of those panels. So

um big jump in cost there. So we also need to replace the computers in Miss Kry's room. Um we'd like to do half of them this year. We really like to do all of them, but we're going to we're going to propose to do half this year. Um, which are eight desktop computers. Um, from byspeed, those are 1315 a piece comes out to about $10,520. And then one teacher desktop, it comes out to $1475. So that total comes out to just under $12,000. And then we're going to try to replace the other eight next year moving into next year. So, when you're looking at the total cost for the technology rotation, um we got $7,800 for our teacher laptops, $23,356 for our clear touch panels, a little under 12,000 um for the desktops, and the

one teacher computer puts us at $43,151.84. We have 13,116 left in our GE reap grant funds to reimburse the purchase for that. So, the total cost coming out of Capital Outlay would be a little over $30,000. Um, like I said, this is down about $15,000 from where we originally budgeted it to be once we started talking with our technology committee on the things that we needed for next year. Um, last year we got a lot more for $30,000. Usually that's kind of where we want our budget to be after the reap grant funds are out. And past years before I I've been here, it's been right around that $30,000 mark coming out of Capital Outlay. So, um that's kind of where where we're at right now. It doesn't seem like we're getting a lot for

the bang for our buck at this time. Um the new REAP grant would start at the next not the next school year, but actually be July July one, right? So, we'll have more REAp grant funds after July 1 to try to attack next year. We just hope by by this time next year some of those prices and tariff charges that are on there come down. So um so that's what we're thinking right now and that's what we're proposing for our technology rotation is our teacher laptops that are new teachers coming in new teachers and faculty coming in the clear touch panels um to try to get up to speed where we have only a few left to do and then half of Lisa Crisis classroom for her um for her finance classes. So, >> so

what are you going to do with the laptops that were placed with like in the last two years as people that are leaving with >> Yeah. So, what we all what we've done in the past um Kayla is we give them the opportunity to buy them. Okay. So, what happens with those laptops is we see what they go for on eBay. Is that right? And then we cut them a little bit of discount with that brand of computer so they have the opportunity to buy those computers if they want to buy them. >> Why don't we keep them and reissue them? >> We could do that too. Um, we've just >> bought them a year ago, right? Two years ago. >> In in the in the past, we've always given the employees the chance to

buy them back at a discounted rate and then that goes back into capital outlay to help offset some of these costs. That's just what we've done in the past. >> How many are buying them? >> Uh, I don't have the answer to that yet. have the ones that are leaving. >> How many >> do we know how many teachers are have already said that are leaving the district that are buying their computers? >> I have not heard any >> I mean I haven't been contacted by a teacher that's leaving that said they didn't want to buy it. >> Right. So all the ones so far that we sent out have said that they haven't said that they don't want to buy this. >> Yeah. Right. Okay. >> Usually by now they would >> say that

they didn't want Yeah. Okay. So that 5-year technology rotation we approved a few years ago, that's kind of just out the window now. >> Well, we can't. Yeah. I mean, we're talking about if we're trying to stay, you know, our goal was um when we came in by this year to have clear touch panels in all classrooms is what it was. And if we do that, I mean, we're talking double the price for those clear touch panels. So now we're looking at another $20,000. Rather than doing that this year, I would rather move it to Yeah. >> The Clear Touch family is going up percentage wise higher than anything else by far. >> So we still planning on doing three a year. That's what the rotation said. >> Oh, and we're doing three this year,

right? >> Five. Five. >> We're trying to do five. Yep. >> Mainly because new teachers, >> well, just we're trying to get to where they all have access to to that technology in their classroom. Now, we have some teachers that still have the projectors and the pull down screens. Um, which is working for them at this time. They just don't have the same technology capabilities in their classroom that the other teachers have. So, >> how many total do we need to So, everybody does have one. >> We need to be at that nine mark. >> That's how many more we need. Yeah, but again, if we're doubling, you know, that's a little less than doubling it. But if we're doubling that, it just sends that number. Any other questions? I would entertain a motion to

approve the technology rotation as presented. >> Motion by Allison. >> Second. There's a second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. >> I'm going to stay. >> That's fair. That's fair enough. >> Time to get up. >> Okay. Okay. And then item number 11 is our end of year board meeting. >> Okay. So, we need to come to a consensus to have our end of the year fiscal board meeting. Um, that'll that's in June. Um, we do have our regularly scheduled board meeting for June 8th. Okay. Last year, we had it on the last Wednesday and traditionally looking back, we we tried to shoot for that last Wednesday in June. Um, if this holds true, that means that that last Wednesday would be June 24th. And we

usually do that in the morning uh just to try to help you guys if that's what you'd like to do. um we just need to kind of come to a consensus on if that's what we want to do or we want to change that time. Um we also can get people virtually coming in at that time if we need to send some uh Google Meets or anything like that out as well. probably won't be >> because Okay, I won't be switching it out. >> Okay. Um, then is that going to be at the district office? >> That's where we've had it in the past. So, >> you know, we could I would I would rather have it there, especially with a lot of the items we have going on in the district at that time.

So, >> I think that works for me. >> Okay. Wednesday, June 24th at 7:30 a.m. at the district office. Um, item number 12, summer worker compensation. >> As of right now, we're paying our summer adult workers the same as our student workers. Uh, that hasn't changed in >> A long time. So, >> years. >> Yeah. The wage is $12 an hour that we're paying. And we feel like we need to that's adequate for our student workers, but we feel like we need to uh bump our adult workers up to 14 hours to be competitive. $14 per hour, sorry, to be competitive um moving into the summer. So I would uh recommend that we bump that summer worker health for adults up to 14 from 12. >> Any discussion on that? If not, I would entertain

a motion to approve the increase in pay rate per hour. >> So moved. >> Motion by Allison. >> I'll second. >> Second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> All right. uh we're going to propose having Are you talking about adults or kids or you want all together? I can break it down for you. One, two, three, four, five adults. Um some of them are already in the district uh work in the district and we have three students right now that we're going to propose. So, >> and what does the summer help do? Um they'll do anything from uh technology helping with technology to maintenance in the buildings um mowing um in the buildings and it could be a combination of mowing and maintenance too. >> So we do have a motion and

a second. Any other questions, comments, discussion? Okay. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? Same sign. >> Yeah. >> Um item number 13, our KSB policy first reads. >> Okay. So, we're going to be talking a lot about this, especially when we get to our handbooks here the next month. So, I wanted us to turn our attention a little bit to the item that is uploaded for you guys to look at from KSV. um two items that we're going to have and I want to spend a little bit of time talking about um House Bill 2299 that was voted into law uh creates new requirements regarding school district staff and use of social media platforms. Um, specifically the third paragraph there says, "No employee of a district shall provide, sorry, shall

privately or directly communicate with any student through a social media platform except as expressly permitted under board policy. Use of board approved social media platforms is acceptable for official school purposes as defined in the policy. No employee shall require a student to use a social media platform for any assignment or extracurricular activity. uh the provisions of this policy do not apply to virtual schools as defined by Kansas law. So, we're looking at a couple different platforms that hook with our website and hook with P school to be able to try to merge that into one where we have our classes. Uh the principal is attached to any of the communication pieces back and forth. Um also athletics activities as well have their own little category in there too where they can click on it, put

all of them together as well. So, um, we're looking into that. We have a meeting with APG at the 1 of June and they're the ones that run our website. So, just make it a little more easier to streamline the process if it's the same company that we're working with with our website. So, we're going to try to provide a little more um clarification on that and little more information on that once we get that meeting done at the 1 of June. So, and then the next one um that's on there as well um is electronic personal devices. Uh students are going to be prohibited from using or accessing personal electronic communication devices during the school day while on district owned or operated property except is expressly permitted by the policy or by law. That

goes for smartwatches, phones, um um >> glasses. Yeah, the glasses and then the the headphones. I can't Apple iPod the >> earbuds. Those in my mind. Yeah, the earbuds. >> Yeah. So, um, we're going to have to develop our own policy and if they bring those, they're going to have to be locked during the school day. Who's going to be in charge of those to give those back to the kids or, you know, what that looks like for us moving forward? Um, uh, Miss Shehy and Miss Murphy have, um, been talking with some of the service centers on things that other school districts are doing as well. So, we're going to bring some of that information to you guys to kind of help us direct that at this next board meeting in June. Um, and

it's going to need to be hooked with our student handbooks as well and what that looks like going into next year. So, no uh no action necessary on that one at this point. I just wanted to let you know that that's going to be a hot topic. Um, my fear my fear is um virtual schools have their place. My my worry is that um as hooked as some of our not are but just high school students aged are on those devices, I'm worried that that's going to turn them away from just a regular school setting more towards the virtual side of things. So, um I hope that don't deter, you know, the regular brick-andmortar schools, but I can see that that could maybe happen down the line as well. So, >> as far as um

the one with like coaches and social media, so that says any social media that we approve, >> right? >> Is there like can we let them continue using what they've been using? The kicker on that is it has to have our principal or our administrator hooked in the communication loop. So if there's a way to hook those in the communication loop, >> then the same so with that if there's a way to hook that in the communication loop where it's ran through our administrators, then possibly yes. Um, >> it is. So, I mean, me personally with like group me or even some of the other ones when my kids were in grade school and stuff like that, I wouldn't consistently get notifications. And so like especially kids like if you're relying on them only and

not it I don't know to have to look at another spot or to to get communication. >> A big positive that we talked about with another one was it also keeps records of all the um transactions where when you use Duby and stuff you kind of lose those records. So have anything ever happened and you had to look back. Sometimes you can't. With the newer stuff that's with our website, it will keep the records. >> Yeah. >> Ultimately, ultimately what they're trying to do is make sure that kids are staying safe and we're protecting our faculty and staff as well. >> So, I mean, I think the thought process behind it's good. It's just going to be a it's going to be a little little different trying to get to that point. So, >> it's

a big change, but I've heard from parents that they don't like how it's different every time, >> right? like which group you're communicating with, you're moving to a different platform and so you might have multiple platforms for one student and you have >> three students that have different things, you know, so to be able to make that more >> centralized, I think will be it's a big change, but I think it'll ultimately be really beneficial. So, we're going to be working on that, putting a lot of time in, especially after school's out to give give you guys a little more direction when we get to the June board meeting on um our thoughts and our recommendations to kind of compile your guys' thoughts to what our handbooks say and our handbooks read in accordance with

the Kansas law. So, >> Mr. Mr. President, I move that the board go into executive session pursuit to the Kansas Open Meeting Act to discuss non-elected personnel for the topic of resignations, supplemental positions, certified staff, and classified staff to protect the privacy of an individuals to be discussed with Mr. Murphy present and returned in open session in this room. >> 655, please. >> 655. Second >> motion and a second. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any oppose? Same sign. We are back in open session. >> I move to approve the resignation of Kelly Felin as Wilson Elementary School first grade teacher at the end of the 2026 school year. >> I'll second. Motion by Alison, second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. >>

Are you I'll say >> y >> I move to approve the resignation of Shelley Sylvesta as Wilson Elementary School secretary at the end of the 2025 2026 school year. Motion by Austin, second by Josh. All those in favor say I. I. >> I. >> Any opposed? Same sign. Motion passes. >> I move to approve the resignation of Terrina Templeton as Wilson Elementary School teacher and virtual director at the end of the 2025 2026 school year. >> Second. >> Motion by Allison, a second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. >> I move to approve the certified staff list as presented. Second >> motion by Allison and second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? Same sign. Motion passes. >>

I move to approve Valerie Langston as the head cook at Central Plains Elementary School for the 2026 2027 school year. >> Second. >> Motion by Allison and a second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. >> I move to approve the summer workers list as presented. Second. >> Motion by Alison and a second by Josh. All those in favor say I. I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. >> I move to approve Eric Hoffman as the middle school assistant girls basketball coach for the 2026 2027 school year. >> Second. >> Motion by Allison, second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. >> I move to approve the supplemental staff list as presented. >> Second.

>> Motion by Alison. Second by Josh. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? Same sign. Motion passes. Item number 15, our superintendent report. >> Okay. Okay. So, just give you guys a little bit of an update. We still searching for choir and band uh position and then also uh potential title position as well. um wanted to give you guys a little bit of an update on the Claplin daycare budget. So, um they are working on the sewer still. They did find the main out by the alley. So, they were actually I think they're planning on lasering that today. Um all of the grant funds have been expended from ABCC. That's Advancing Barton Childcare. Um the last payment is about $400,000. we have put back from tax subsidies $458,000. Um so what

will happen is ABC will get that bid that bill and then they'll send it to us for that final $4,000. What that leaves is it leaves us $60,000 in that child care account for the fencing and then to help with backyard surface area and then they're working on the playground equipment on ABCC side and they have a grant for that that they're writing right now. So, pretty good position. We haven't put had to put any district money from that. Everything's been um tax subsidies or or um funding that we were fortunate enough to get from the Kansas Commerce Department. So, I wanted to give you guys a little bit of um update on where that is. Um the next item I have up here, uh we talked a little bit about this last month, but

we do have the items, some items from Wilson Alumni Association. Uh they talked about more like those senior panels at Wilson. Um what I would like to do is after we get the building uh clear with teachers and students. I'd like to probably have the Wilson Alumni Association come up and look at some of those items, make a list and then bring that back to you guys on items that they would like donated back to the Wilson alumni. I know a senior panel there might be some banners and other things items like that in there as well. I just feel like we need to get the students and the teachers all situated and where they're going to be before we start having those conversations. So, um, can I make a comment on that? >> Yes,

please. >> The the alumni association is interested in doing that before they hold their alumni meetings in the Memorial Day weekend. So, it's kind of in a time pinch here. They would like to have those items removed from the school and placed at the uh Catholic Church Parish Center where they hold their alumni banquet and they've gotten approval to do that. But it is not very much time to have that happen. So, if we could I I might want to propose a a provisional or temporary transfer of those materials to accommodate that time frame subject to final approval down the road. That makes that a little more palable. that it would be it it's it's very important for the families of those people that have memorials and and things in the school to make sure

that those are uh passed forward and we don't want to lose track of that and the alumni associate is a natural >> if I have able to do that >> if I have consensus of the board for the week after the school gets out to be able to work with Wilson alumni association I don't mind doing it that week to try to get them some of the items. Um, it's just I'm not going to be able to provide you guys a list with those items until then. So, you need to by consensus give me the authority to be able to >> Well, I think like we know right now, we know the senior panels and we know like any memorial items like, you know, like the one to grace and things like that. >> I

mean, if we could just limit it to those things right now and then a full list to be, you know, approved later. Yeah. >> I mean, I would be perfectly fine with that. >> And I agree. I think there's there has to be a list. I mean, we're not just throwing the doors open and say go grab stuff. I mean, we got to we got to keep track of what's taken, but we also need to do it quickly. It would make a big difference to the families. If we could do that, >> if we have consensus of the board for me to be able to work with them that week to get them items they need and then a list, present them a list at the next board meeting. Is that sufficient or does that

need to be a board motion? >> No, I think it's fine. >> If it's by consensus, >> by consensus, the board agreed to have Mr. Murphy >> work with the Wilson Alumni Association on items that they would >> like to are they going to present those to the family? You know, like >> they're going my understanding is they're going to make a shrine or whatever. >> Panels were going to I think remain in the parish hall for display. >> Okay. Okay. >> But and I think that I'm not sure exactly what they were going to do with any memorial items, >> but >> those are like the only two that would necessarily have any time constraints on them. >> Gotcha. >> Everything else can be determined at a later date. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Is

this on Memorial weekend? Is this like Association meeting or >> it's a meeting. >> Yeah. Yeah. And they're meeting in Big >> Oh, okay. There's like an annual thing. >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. Okay. Thank you. >> What day is that on? >> Is it Saturday? >> Is it on the 23rd or is it on >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. I think it's Saturday. >> The state track is always that same day. That's all I remember. >> Yeah. State tracks pushed back one week. Yeah. So, so Memorial Day is actually before State Track this time. So, okay. Got it. >> Okay. I got that. >> Okay. Thank you, ma'am. Okay. I want to give you guys some background. Uh talked to Scott Gordon just a little bit today on administrative review. Um should know something

by the last Tuesday in May from their uh their perspective. um did receive a co phone call from uh Silven Lucas that you know once we get the administrative review they're ready to start coming together at a table and start having some discussions if our board's interested. Um told them really right now we can't really have any of those in the middle of the administrative review. So um they're ready to come to the table and visit about um potential land transfer. Um but ultimately that'll be on you know your guys what you guys want that to look like on talks. So, I just want to give you a little background on that. I want to talk a little bit about the preschool. Um, talked to a lady from that's what I remember. I'm Miss Shay.

That's why I called you earlier and I completely forgot about it. So, um, Central Plains Elementary School preschool. We have a big group coming in this next year. Okay. We do have some families from out of the district um other towns that are close that all they have is a um private um preschool that's um I don't know what way to put it. It it costs quite a bit for them to go to that preschool. So they're bringing their students or planning on bringing their students to our preschool. Okay. Um, and then once they turn kindergarten age, they would go to the district where they live. Preschool funding is very different from regular funding. Okay? You do not get funding for every preschool kid. They have to be an atrisisk kid or have an IEP

to get any funding for it. Most districts that run the uh a preschool understand how important it is to those young ages of having them in school. Um but really our budget and our tax dollars run the preschools. Okay. So when you think about that, we charge $35 a month for a preschool. Okay? So we have people from out of the district bringing their kids in paying $35 a month and our tax dollars are running that and their tax dollars are not going there. Okay? So when I called KD about what we could do if we got in a bind and had a big class, they said we could ultimately put a cap on it and say that if they're out of district, they would be the first ones taken out of the cap out

of it if there was an in district kid that wanted that spot. Okay, they said that's one way. Another another way that we could approach this too is we could put extended fees on there for out of district kids for preschool. Can't do that for kindergarten up. Okay. But kindergarten up, the state funding follows the kid. Okay. Preschool, it doesn't. So, we're going to have some conversations about that. Um, I don't know if we've had any more people, Miss Shei, have we had any more preschool kids the past couple days try to enroll that you know of >> Two out of district. Okay. Okay. >> But could I mean it could be more, >> right? >> Yeah. So, >> you're saying a total of two >> that are out of district that are planning on

bringing their kids to our preschool. And how many total enrollment for pre? >> We're looking at almost 30 now today. >> Uh just something to think about and keep in your mind a little. Uh modular update. Uh they're starting the concrete. Uh Scott Scotty's starting the concrete footings over at the modular unit. Uh Miss Murphy talked a little bit about our KISSA update. Amber Miller was in the district for accreditation pieces last week. Went really well. So we feel like we're in a good spot. uh give you guys a little bit of feedback on our virtual budget. We're going to be cutting it really close on those credits. We don't feel like at this time we're going to have to republish the virtual budget, but the credits are um quite a bit higher coming in

than what we anticipated and what graduation and Lions told us with bringing oatme on on the the virtual side of things as well. So, um we're looking at our egeneuity platform for our virtual classes uh going into next year. might have a small change on the way those are done rather than everything being um on the computer kind of having specific teachers through Egeneuity for some of those specific classes. So, we're looking at that option as well. Working on getting our district events calendars uh ironed out and printed going into next year. And then we have graduation on Sunday. It's here at 2:00. Um I know a couple of you reached out to me, but if I could have an idea of who's going to be here, we'll make sure we have enough chairs on

the stage for you guys. And we met in here about 1:45 last year. So, um, you'll be here. Mr. Dalton, will you be here? Yeah. Josh, Tamara? >> Yep. >> Alison, would you like to be here, too? >> I could be. That would be great. So, 1:45 in here on Sunday. So, we'll have seating up on the stage for us to sit to congratulate our seniors on all their hard work. >> All three. Mhm. >> I'll bring you some things. >> Oh my gosh. >> I won't. >> I don't need it. >> I will be happy. >> Not your job. >> Not my wife. That's a different story. >> So, those are the items I have on administrative report. We have a lot of projects going ready to hit the ground running once we have

kids out of the building and enjoying their summer break. >> Are there any board member reports? >> Um any open agenda items? >> One I'd like since it's fresh. We just had it about moving the elementary school programs to here for a couple reasons because of parking spaces, seating space, and most of all air conditioning. If we can move that to here, how we have to do that or anybody's thoughts. >> Can you give me a little more detail? >> Our uh fall and spring music program for the elementary school, it's in the gym in Hollywood. >> Okay. The numbers are so huge at the elementary that we do >> two different programs the same night. >> They started doing that um in co to try to like cut things down but >> cut the

size down. >> But even that like >> because we were in the second Yeah. enrollment is the classes are so big that like when the people get there from the second program there's nowhere to park >> because everybody's already I mean there are cars all the way around the building and a block and a half down the street >> and in the parking lots >> and even in in both programs the it's full seating is full >> the only concern concern I would have with that is with with the air conditioning. Um, you know, I'm I'm going to break it apart in two different sections. You have your Christmas concert, right? Um, you know, would we have that in the auditorium or would we have that in the gym, right? And then the setup for

that and then if we did have it in the gym, you know, having those bleachers and stuff on the new gym floor is just a little bit of a concern. >> Um, but then on the other side of it, you know, it Dalton is right, it is hot in there in the spring. There are so many people in there. Um I hate I would hate you know >> well and I see the difficult part in it because the kids go to the classrooms first >> and then each teacher brings them down. You know how that >> you're transplanting a lot of kids to an unfamiliar environment. >> Yep. >> But and the kids enjoy the parents to go to their classroom and this is what I did. This is >> I think we could still

do that on like an open house and just do not have the program just do another night for the art classroom stuff and just make the program separate a different night >> because that's what we were actually talking about that at work and um I have a coworker who went to school here too and we were talking about what we did and we had our programs all in the gym here >> and they put a wire Yeah. >> From basketball to like that and had that big old paper behind >> the risers and that was their decoration. The art class would >> change. What are your do you have any thoughts or concerns on that? I know your teachers they do a lot out of their classrooms. >> But I mean it's very it's full.

I don't know how to solve a problem. I mean we have two sections because we have kids and I don't know that I mean if you put it into one section you're gonna have a really long program too. >> I am not in favor of going back to that. That was way too long. A thought I had was um since art will be moving back into a classroom and not on the stage. Historically the uh choir risers were up on the stage and then the band was down on the floor. That'll increase your seating pretty significantly, too, >> if you go back to a split format. So, I Yeah, I just think that's a lot to ask of the teachers to transplant because, you know, they're doing rehearsals with the kids, getting them down there,

organized, and everything. And yeah. >> Yeah. And that was one thing we would have, we would come down here for like a full morning for a walk through rehearsal one time before ours. because I need that. >> So, >> hey I I think you are right. Once we can get it up on that was it will help. >> It's going to be really hot. >> Oh, really hot? >> Yeah. Told my wife we need to set by the window, but she said there was no wind coming in, so it ain't doing no good. Something to something to keep in the back of our minds or think about though. >> Maybe ask the teachers. >> Yeah. >> Over there. Get some feedback. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Item number 18, items for next month's agenda. >> Okay.

So, we have personnel on there. We'll hopefully have uh handbooks updated to give you guys a first look at what those will look like. Um we're hoping to have our district property insurance and the negotiations. Um we feel like we're in a good place with negotiations. We're just waiting on our health insurance plans and that's been a lot of back and forth right now. So, um really frightened they won't even give us numbers yet. So, um kind of scary. But then we'll have a final reading on board of education policies as well. And then our casualty and women's comp insurance we'll have on there. >> There you go. >> Item number 19. I would entertain a motion to adjourn. >> Also move. >> Motion by Josh. >> Second by Allison. All those in favor say

I. I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion pass.
