001Go ahead and call this meeting to order. First item on the agenda is approval of the agenda. So motion by Allison. Second by Dalton. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. 70. >> Josh is with us on Google Meet. Just to let you guys know. Uh the next item on the agenda is approval of the minutes for the 101325 meeting. Any questions, comments, changes? Hearing none, I would entertain a motion to approve those minutes. >> Motion by Kayla. >> Second by Chad. All those in favor say I. >> I. Opposed. Same sign. Motion passes. Uh, next item on the agenda is the treasures report that is on there. See [clears throat] [cough] any questions, comments? >> Motion by Kayla. >> second by Allison. All those in favor

002say I. I >> any opposed? Same sign. Motion passes. Approval of the invoices. Mr. Murphy, is there anything you would like to call out? >> Yeah, we do have a few big ticket items. We have our graduation alliance September billable credits that's on uh this month's invoices for $179,189.12. We do have two different uh sped invoices. once our flow through from the state in the amount of $90,642. And then toward the bottom, you'll see our assessment number two. It's broken apart into a four assessments this year. So our sped assessment for our second round is $106,81. We did get our bus in that we ordered last year. So that was 171,481. And then we have our audit from Adams Brown that was $11,850. So, those are some of the big ticket items on this month's

003basis. [clears throat] We've had a lot of talk um for our CKIE spent flow through our assessments. Um kind of nervous about next year because I think those are going to hike up even more than what they went up last year. So, um I'll give you a little more information about that in my superintendence report. So, Any other questions or anything from anybody hearing? None. I would entertain a motion to approve the invoices as presented. So, [clears throat] motion by Allison, second by Chad. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. reconciliation and cash balances report is there for you to review. We thanks [clears throat] to Nicole, we finally have the cash summary report on the new APA fund from FA2. As you can see, the ending

004cash balance matches the balance of the bank. So, we are in line balanced. That's a big accomplishment over all the work that Diane and Nicole have put in the past few months. So, >> there any questions on that recognition of visitors. and administrative reports. [clears throat] >> [clears throat] >> Um this month we have on out on the 27th the red ribbon week parent teacher conferences and the fall harvest food drive on the 11th um which is tomorrow we'll be celebrating veterans in our commons and so we're really excited about that. Um all the kids have po different kids have poems and there's some music and some different things. We also have an early dismissal with professional development on the back side and then um we'll go into Thanksgiving break on the 24th through the

00528th. Um our parent teacher conference was well attended. We had about 90% of our parents um there to hear great things about what about their students. Um our Scholastic book fair was held during conferences and our gross sales were a little over 2,000. It's a little under what we've had in years past but not too far under. um our parent survey which I gave you a copy of the result of that on the back side of my principal report. Um I did give during parent teacher conferences um an opportunity for parents to share their voices about our school. And so if you look at the survey results um our strengths were just um that parents feel like um teachers exchange valuable information during parent teacher conferences. uh parents feel like um that their children are

006valued and cared for in our school and that um staff and administration and the office staff all make um families feel welcome within our school. Some areas for improvement are that um we lack some communication that probably needs to be happening a little more frequently, which is just informing um parents about their child's learning, contacting not just about, you know, positive things [clears throat] or behavior concerns, but um positive things and then um having input on school policy programs and improvement efforts. And so some I put some proposed responsive actions to those one's just you know really working on talking with parents about the different things that are happening with their students both positive and negative. Um and then I'm looking at a way to easily incorporate a school newsletter without causing us a lot

007of extra work. So I think there's a couple ways that we could do that pretty easily and get a little more information out to parents. Um, we also, um, we took away our student of the month character [clears throat] awards this year because we went to a dragon store where students were getting dragon dollars and I just don't feel like that was probably our best idea. So, we're going to reimplement that back in the second quart or second semester and hopefully that'll help parents with some of that positive feedback that's missing. So, that was lesson learned. Um, and then I did do some things this month. Um, I tried uh coffee with the principal, but it was sort of short notice and there was some communication there. So, we'll do a little better with the

008next one. I'm going to try that several times to see if maybe that doesn't help us get a little more um parent involvement and have topics each time where parents can talk about different things that they would be interested in, you know. So, we'll try that and see. And then just doing some regular surveys and some different things on things that parents should and could have um input into. Um our daycare is still up and rolling. We have three friends in the world. I saw today that we have um hired a new person to help. Hopefully all of that will go uh easily. I know she hasn't gone through all of the process, but I do know there's some going there. We're having a soup and supper. um fundraising event the night of our Christmas

009in the Commons celebration. And I said that was December 4th, which is incorrect. It's actually December 15th. Our enrollment is looking really good. We're staying up in that 63 plus our prek. So, do you have any questions or comments? >> Thank you. We also had a great turnout for parent teacher conferences. We had about 91% of our parents that were able to attend and then since then the parents that weren't able to come, our teachers have reached out to most of them at this point. Uh our November student of the week is Amy Hurley. She was nom nominated by Miss Renee Lam for art and she is the daughter of Carla and Josh Hurley. On October 30th, we did have our basketball de court dedication for Mrs. Oer. It was a great celebration for all.

010Mrs. Oer challenged the teachers to a game of knockout. Mrs. Katie Ryan won. Um, and it was down to the very end with between Mrs. Oer and Mrs. Ryan. Um, the kids also um put a little notebook together for her about what are some things principles do when they retire. And some of their responses were spend time with family and friends, do her taxes, go on a cruise, do whatever she wants. And then a teacher threw in there skip parent teacher conferences and go to a Chiefs game. So, um, last month I told you a little bit about Socktober. Our fifth graders collected 1,329 pairs of socks. They donated them to various organizations in the area, but then they were also able to donate to people in Witchah. Um, I included some pictures of Bart

011the Cougar. He came to visit and accept donations on behalf of Barton Community College for their uh care closet. Uh, the elementary students were able to send off our tennis team and our cross country teams before heading off to state. The kids always love that, being a part of our um cheering our own teams on for our um for our Oilers. The elementary school will be hosting three junior high basketball games. We have one this Thursday. We are going to have a small concession stand and the money will be going towards student activities. Some of the things coming coming up, we are um dismissing early tomorrow for Veterans Day. Friday, the uh the three-year-olds will have a family event. This is where our parents come and see the things that the kids are kids are

012doing in their classroom. On Monday, October 17th, the third through sixth grades will attend the dress rehearsal play for the or for the all school play. This was rescheduled. The fourth graders will also be going to the Clacklin Community Center in the Hollywood Legion on Thursday the 20th. Also on the 20th, the pre-K through 2 grade will have the A in the classroom. The preschoolers do not have school on Friday, November 21st, so that their teachers can plan and prepare for their classes for um the month of December. At the end of the month, hard to believe where we're at. Um we do have Thanksgiving break. So, have any questions? >> Thank you. >> [clears throat] >> All right. Um, my report this month, uh, freshmen did complete the preac that is free for all

013freshmen, um, each year. So, they completed that and they are anxiously waiting their scores. Um, I put a map in your um, in my report tonight about um, kind of Tim and I have sat down and looked at plaques. We talked about plaques the last time. Um, I have kind of a map there of what we think would be best. um we are talking about in the yellow area on that map putting up and you can kind of see um they're kind of labeled where we would put the different um sports, but we're trying to kind of group them together so that as you walk the halls you can kind of see all the accolades from that specific sport. But we think we can get all of the um all of the state sealed plaques

014up in the hallways. Um if you look down this hallway back here, I kind of labeled that we're calling it we don't really know what we're calling it, but the legacy hall. So, that one would hold um some of those older plaques um that maybe aren't state sealed, but we would start with kind of the most recent and we'd work back as far as we can and then our plan is just to give the rest of those to the museum if that sounds good. That's kind of what our our what we came up with a plan for. And then um this little purple area is the where the junior high lockers are. So, we would put the junior high accolades above in their hallway. So they have something kind of special down there. And then

015this pink area down here is in front of the auditorium. And we were planning on putting all of the fine arts awards up there. So scholars bull, music, forensics, all of that would be located down there. So it's where people who come to fine arts things would see those. And there's nothing on those hallways. Um we thought it'd be kind of nice to spread it out a little bit. Um the other thing we're talking about is putting the Hall of Fame up, which we don't have we haven't put up anywhere and we have lots of that. Putting that up on that wall right there and then this little wall um leading out um so that you can see the Hall of Fame. Um and then finally back here in this corner, we have all of

016those uh signs that have been in this hallway um that are like the old what am [snorts and clears throat] I trying to say? Brackets. Thank you. um from all of the state things that we've won, but putting them in a dedicated space in the corner back here. So, that's kind of our plan and you can kind of give me some feedback on that. But, um Tim and Ryland are anxious to get started with hanging plaques back up. So, um if that looks okay, we'll kind of go with that plan. Um so, athletic report, uh we had a great showing at Girl State Tennis. You can see the placings there. Um and we had uh two kids make it to state cross country. Um Tayen Davis ended up placing fifth um at state. So that

017was really exciting. Um she was a dual sport athlete. So she had quite quite a quite a fall. Um I listed out there for you. Oh, sorry. And then our junior high volleyball team did place first in A and the B team. Both placed first in the league tournaments this year. So that was great for them. and I listed out um the activities for the winter and kind of the numbers that are in [clears throat] those different activities for you. Um we did have to change our jamboree date. Um I don't know if you guys remember last year we were still playing football at this point and um if we would have played in the jamboree last year the boys would have had like two practices. So the boys elected to not participate in the

018jamboree last year and um apparently that was for the rest of our lives. um they kind of kicked us out of that jamberee so we had to find a different option. So our boys and girls are going to separate locations um for their jamborees this year but hopefully we can get that back to where um that's not the way it happens in the future. Um we are holding those junior high games as Shay mentioned um in Hollywood and just to give you a little background on that um we are trying to get as much playing time for students as we possibly can. Um if we play a full AB and C games just in Bushen, um we might get done at 11. Um so we're just trying to give those kids as much playing time

019as we possibly can. Um so just it'll just be the three games um here where we play bigger teams, they'll have a full seat team to be able to play. Um some other things that are just happenings around the school, we had a future maker lab come. They had hands-on activities. They had a drone control, uh, VR welding, VR painting, and robotics. And I provided you some pictures there. Uh, that one where the kids are all sitting on the bench, that is a robot dog sitting in front of them. Uh, the dog like they could program it to run around and it was like racing. It was pretty cool. Uh, the kids were really engaged and there was lots of good feedback from that. Uh, we did took kids to the ESDAC fair in Hutchinson.

02061 students attended that. Jack Kilby day was last Friday and 30 students attended that at Barton. Uh the yearbooks have gone on sale. They are $40 this year. And the EBE, which is the entrepreneurship and business essentials class, which is the freshman, are making all the basketball shirts and they have tons and tons of orders this year. Thank you. Item number nine, capital outlay district. >> So, last year we had a [clears throat] separate meeting um to talk about our capital outlay district needs. And this year, I thought this would be a good one to not have to pull you guys out of your normal routine to go over some of these with our agenda being a little bit light this this nine week or this month. So, um, the first item, and we've talked

021about this one a little bit, our sprinkler system that we have on our practice football field right now, um, is pretty rough to the point where if we order a new one, um, it could be more than just putting the sprinkler system in itself. So, uh, Mr. Tim did get a bid from Pro Green Total Lawn Care, uh, the amount of $6,900 to, uh, put a new sprinkler system in on the practice field. than that bid is on your board documents um with five rows of 10 rotors per row including all supplies, labor, and equipment. Uh this wouldn't be something that would be done right away. We just need to get it on the books if that's the direction we want to go. So in the early spring, we can try to get this done

022and get this up and rolling. Um the sprinkler system we have out there now is an old I can't think of the word. Mr. Tim, help me. >> Water reel. Um it's been repaired quite a few times. So they they've really gotten a good a good lifespan out of the water wheel that we have. So um if the board would like us this is this is the same company that did the football field too, right, Mr. Tim? So um if we want to go go with them, that could be the option. That'd be the option we would uh look at going. If we wanted to the board so choose to get a couple other bids, we can do that as well. but we felt like that was a really good price um to get that

023practice field done. So, just wanted to open that up to discussion if you guys have any questions on that. >> I think that'd be a good really good way to go. It will also be way more efficient and a timesaver also. >> [clears throat] >> And I do believe that legal is back from before the schools even consolidated. So >> it has been well used. I was there when I was a freshman like two. >> So we had to drag it out every day. >> Yeah. We have that signed to if we ever get the track bill redone down there is some of that going to be in the way. >> I think we've had that conversation and um where they plan on [clears throat] putting it. It wouldn't be in the way of anything

024that we wanted to over there track and field wise. Correct. Tim >> according to the way it was originally designed by Mark. Yes. All those rotors are on sweet pipes on the inside of the track and they can be cut off or swung in. The trunk line is approximately 3 ft away from the curb. So according to the guy that I spoke to on the phone, uh that should be plenty far in. And the gentleman that I spoke to was probably not the same guys that came out and looked at it, but he's been putting tracks in for a long time and he said going in that far should be enough. So, >> so I think the main question is out there on the practice talked about the runways and things like that out there.

025>> Oh, if we got to that point. >> No, that wouldn't interfere with that. >> Sorry, I thought you were talking about >> No, that's just strictly on the practicing service and the if that if the field event stuff would go in, it would be out of the way. >> Out of the way. Yeah. Okay. Are there any other thoughts or questions or anything? especially while we have Tim here to ask. I would entertain a motion to approve the bid and program to lawn care to install a new sprinkler system on the practice football field at Central Plains High School. Okay. Motion by Dalton. >> Second, second by Allison. Any other thoughts, questions, concerns? Hearing none. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Any oppose? Same sign. Motion passes. 70. >> Okay. So,

026I wanted to spend a little bit more time uh talking about a couple other items. So, on our board document, uh Cruz did shoot us a bid for a ladder for the high school gym. So, just giving you guys a little feedback on that. Um, when we go on the roof, I say when we, I've never been on the roof there before, but I know Mrs. Murphy's been on the roof a few times, and I know Mr. Holmes has been on the roof quite a few quite a few times. The way that the ladder goes up there, uh, presents some major safety risks to the district. um multiple ways, not just falling off the ladder, the ladder slipping out from underneath. We really need to think about what we can do to make that where

027Mr. Tim can get up there, [clears throat] he needs to get up there, or if somebody else needs to get up there, it's not a safety issue. So, when we talked to Cruz about this, and Cruz was the company that put in the air conditioning system, um it has to be a custom ladder and it has to be attached to the wall um to go up there and have kind of a cage built around it where we don't have anybody falling backwards off of the ladder, but then also has a lock on it so we don't have kids climbing during games and things like that. So, it's not just a put it up there, fasten it to the wall, here we go, it's ready. they're going to have to custom build this to put it

028up. Um, so the specifications are on there and on the back of it, it talks about um the way that the ladder would look, the circumference of the ladder all the way around, uh, the kind of the cage that goes around it. But, I mean, it it's it's a pretty hefty bill at $16,834. But with it being custom built, um I I can see why that's going to drive the price up there. So, this is something we need to attack just because of the safety issue. We don't want anybody falling off of the ladder going up there. Um and I just wanted to bring that to your guys's attention. I think it would probably be best for us to go ahead and reach out to a couple other places pretty quickly to see what other

029bids we can get on this to get it back, but this is something that we need to try to attack pretty quick this early this spring to try to get this done, whether it's with crews or with somebody else. Um, I know whenever we have air conditioning problems or sensors in the air conditioning, we we need somebody to be able to go up there. Also, whenever we have graduation and things like that, they go up there and they put black plastic over those um skylights up there as well. So, it just really scares me of what could happen with the ladder that we use and the way we go up there. So, I just wanted to bring this to your guys's attention to see if you guys have any thoughts, concerns, questions, if you're okay

030with me searching out a couple other bids and what that's going to look like to make sure that it meets the requirements that we need for people to get up there. It looks like consensus. We would appreciate you reaching out and finding a few other bids so we can compare. >> Okay. And I wanted to give you guys on the next item that's on there some feedback. Uh Thrasher did come to Wilson last Friday. um their foreman and the guy they sent out to do the job had their wires completely crossed with talking about having to cut out steel beams in the wall and everything else that was not on the original plan. So this is the second time they've been out and this is the first time they hit us with cutting beams, those

031sorts of things out of that wall to bring the foundation up to where it needs to be. Now, whenever we reached out to the foreman after that crew had left the premises, that was not the plan that was was put forth with what they were supposed to be doing. So, Thrasher's been out twice and both times they have not fixed the wall and they've not been on the same page. I have a call in to their foreman to try to get to the bottom of this. Um, but it was really concerning whenever they told us, "Oh, you have to cut the steel beams out of the wall." We're not cutting steel beams out of the wall because what's going to hold the wall up if we're cutting the steel beams out of the wall. So,

032um I did get a call get a call into their foreman actually on Friday um that's supposed to get some feedback from the gentleman that comes out to run that crew to figure out when we're going to get this done. Um I did want to spend a little bit of time though talking about the next step beyond that because really we can't do anything with the roof until the foundation's fixed. So, I wanted to spend some time talking about the roof, but just with the understanding that we really can't move forward right now because we don't have the foundation of the part yet. So, um, we did have a couple options and I did give you guys the pictures that they took of the roof up there. So, you guys had some background on that.

033The first bid that we got was from Webcon um to clean and prep the roof, [laughter] install deck light end caps, um install mastic sealer around the end caps, install top coat over, and then daily clean up to the job. This had absolutely no warranty at all to it. It was just them coming out fixing what they thought was wrong with the roof. So, that one uh came out to just under $7,000. Uh $6,986. Uh the next one was Conklin Roofing System and this I believe is the company that did some work in Hollywood uh earlier this year. Um and some of the items they have on their to-do list was in case primer um apply fasten fastener grade quick cocked all the fasteners. Um attack the seams and the vertical standing seams. Um apply

034a top coat to it as well. This one did have a 10-year warranty on it and it was $34,600. So, um, you know, the warranty is going to cost us a little more if that's the way we decide to go. Then the last one we had come out was Ray Roofing. They're the ones that took pictures um to get any sort of a warranty with what they observed and what they think needs to be fixed. They shot us $120,000 just for the library. So, I just wanted you guys to kind of be in the know of that and understand the the direction that we've kind of got to be thinking out thinking about. And this is a really hard one whenever you're talking about a warranty versus non-wranty. Um, but even if we do have

035a warranty, that doesn't mean necessarily that they can fix that that roof above the library. So, we're not to this step yet, but I'm hopeful that my hope was to be to this step today after they fixed it on Friday. Um, but we're not to that step yet. So, I just wanted to visit with you guys and see if you had any thoughts, comments, concerns on this or maybe had a different idea of a direction to go with trying to seek that at seeking that out and getting at least some information for you guys before the next board meeting. about is that one is that you >> pretty much it's even fish fixing some of the wall flashing around it. Um and it says various various repairs um have been made and it talks about

036that a little bit but in their opinion um these repairs that are even up there can be split open. It's my opinion the best way to take care of these is install a flute filled insulation over the existing metal roof and then install a cover board over that flute to fill the installation. Um and it's installing a whole membrane over that coverboard. So pretty much putting a whole new roof on it. And that's just the library part though, Kayla. That's not like any other part. That's just the library section. So >> the library is 68. >> Yeah. Up there. Whenever you figure it's at an angle coming down and then you have some of the valleys and angles like that as well. I bet I bet it's pretty close to that. This could be even

037maybe over those entryway areas just a little bit because I know part of that when they start applying that they can't leave it in a valley on one side and not do something in the valley, you know, going down to the other side as well cuz then you're going to have a drawing point on the other part of that seam. Um, but I'm by no means a roofing expert either. So, When did you say Thresher was going to get back to you again? >> Uh, I I was supposed to have a phone call from him today and I did not get a phone call back from him today. And last time we scheduled it, it ended up being a month out, then another month out when they came in and didn't fix it the first

038time because they didn't have the appropriate tools to do the job when they [clears throat] came out the the first time it was scheduled. So, >> Mr. Murphy, the last rain, was there any water coming in at all? >> I I didn't see any water and Angie didn't report any water. Miss Moore, did you see any water at all around Okay. Okay. >> So, we have a little time. >> Yeah. I I want you guys just to kind of think about this because this is a this is a really big decision to make because I mean, you're talking about a lot of money and and I'll be just really honest with you guys. They went up there and done water tests on that roof and they can't get it to leak in certain spots. So,

039I mean, we could go in there and spend I mean, $120,000 and have a 10-year warranty, but that by no means means it's not going to leak still. So, um, you know, but if we go back and we need to feel really confident in what we go back with because we don't want to do all that work and put the sheetrock and everything back up just to have leaks down the back side of that wall again. So, right now we have the library set up in a couple of classrooms across from the office and I don't want to speak for our librarians, but it seems to be working. >> I mean, >> okay, >> we are functioning. Yeah, >> it's basically struggle, but they're making >> So once we get um Thrasher on board and

040try to get that done or if we have to look for somebody else to do something there, if Thrasher can't get everything straightened out on their end, then we're going to have to figure out what we're going to do next. So, I just wanted to give you guys time to think about that before we got to that point. So, okay. Okay. So, I did want to spend a little bit of time talking to you guys about three other items that are um very concerning here at the high school middle school. So, um I I'll start off by visiting a little bit about the three entryways, our three main entryways in front of the gym, in front of the um auditorium, and the main office. our our entryways, those panels on the front are very old

041to the point where they are starting to stick doorways. Um the doorways are not latching like they need to latch. Last year we had a remark from the fire marshall because they were swelling up and they were sticking. Um so so there's some concerns there on those doorways and you know our administration's constantly checking those doorways to keep the kids safe. that stuff's happening. But um those entryways are a concern moving forward just on the lock situation because the locks are not functioning correctly with what we've had to do to make sure that they work in the past. Um so that that is a concern. So we did um ask Brentwood Builders just to give us a shot in the dark when they came out and looked at us at what they would have us

042budget for all three of those entryways. Um, so their budgetary proposal that was just for a whole new entry, a whole [clears throat] new outside panel was for all three of them together was $159,20. So about $53,000 a panel with new doors and everything in those entryways. Um, so I wanted to kind of bring that to your guys's attention and see what thoughts you have on it. Not that we need to make any decisions now. was just to have a conversation on um I guess helping us prioritize moving into the future. So, >> can those be split up? >> They can be. Yes, sir. We don't have to do all three of them at the same time. They can be split up where we do one a summer or, you know, however however we want

043that to look. So, um that's one of the items that's kind of a that's a concern. The other item that is a concern is our water pipes and we've talked about that under the building. um just to map it out. They're shooting us a a number of just under $20,000 to map it out on our water lines and valves and all that sort of stuff going on under the school and being really transparent with everybody. Those water pipes from anytime down there have Tim I said one or two leaks at a time. I mean, it seems like that we [clears throat] >> the the main issue we have is with the hot water circulation line, but seems like we've hopefully started to get it under control over experiencing this wash out on the elbows because

044they've been in there probably 20 years when the um tankless heaters were initially installed. They installed that circulation loop so that when you turn the hot water on, you have hot water right away. Otherwise, you're waiting for the [clears throat] wall of water to go from the boiler room up into the building to whatever fixture you have turned on to get your hot water. Every single one of the fittings has been down here on this end of this hallway or in the boiler room itself. Um, what Marvin and Drew have done basically is they started by replacing fittings. Now, they're just saying, you know what, we're replacing pipe. We're doing away with all these extra elbows. But as far as the general plumbing goes, the majority of the problems are there. Yes, the plumbing's old.

045You know, it's something to think about cuz they didn't have fittings back in those days that go from 3 in to 3/4. So, they drill a hole in the 3 in and they stuff down a/ inch or 3/4 in and solder it on and the pipe moves over time. And so, >> so you're you're looking at $20,000 just to map it out. that doesn't attack any any of the piping. So, I would you would even care be be kind of scared to to shoot a venture on what that would cost. So, that's the second thing. Um, and then then another one of the items that we've talked about in the past is football field lights as well. Um, we know that those are a concern as well. I did reach out to the company. I

046found paperwork in our office. Uh, Diane got it to me of a company that did the Wilson football field lights. Whenever we put the ones up at Wilson, um they kind of uh did a specs on what it would look like um using Google Earth from what we currently have. Um taking down the lights as well. And I think they shot us turnkey taking the old ones down, everything done. Um I've looked at this three times and now I got to try to get back to it. $224,900 for turnkey job free football lights. Um I did visit with them about the football lights in Wilson um about what they did there and if there was any chance to could we move those if we even had an option and they said that there's not going

047to be any company that's going to touch moving those lights with the danger that it could cause if something happens to one of them when they're trying to haul it back and forth and then trying to reput the light back up. So that was their comment whenever we visited about what other options we could have that we currently have in the district for football field lights. So um the football field lights they did shoot us at though was for an 11man field just in case we ever had to go back to 11 man um rather than an eightman field. And then the track as well. Um the ballasts on those lights are going out right now. Uh last we talked to to uh the Kurmers, they were having a hard time finding the ballasts for

048the lights that we have, which means if we don't have ballasts, each one of those lights are going to start shutting off and then we don't have lights for a football field. So um and then not to mention those poles have been reinforced out there before already. Um and you know, they've held steady, but they are a concern moving forward on what that looks like, too. So, um, not that we need to make any decisions today at all. I just wanted to bring these three, um, because they are a little bit of a of a of a concern and a safety concern moving forward as well. Um, you know, budget-wise, even with what we're doing in Hollywood, we still have a little bit of capability to try to maybe attack one of these at some

049point in the next year or so if we wanted to. But I wanted to give you guys time to think about it before we move forward. any any further with where we're at with a couple of those safety concerns. So, um, thoughts, concerns, questions, and the hard part on these is they're all concerns. What where do you where do you I mean, on a priority list, where do you put them? I mean, who where do you put as number one, number two, and number three? So, um, you know, we'd really like some of you guys to take some time to think about it and then, you know, at the next board meeting, give us some feedback on what you guys think would be priority number one moving forward. >> Mr. Murphy. >> Yes, sir. >>

050On them doors, they going back similar or >> Yeah, so they were going back similar, but I think the panels in the door instead of them being um I think they're green and black. The panel said no to this increaseic. What this is looking at is their ability to problem solve effectively and have tools. So it will also deal with fluency is another of those components just helping them be able to um strategic. So our targets we started off with 51% of our students and we just want to keep in mind numbers are low. So 51% seems low. So that's in the fall of 2025. I would like to see that around the 75% um range by the spring. Couple things we have to keep in mind that is there's chance that our strategies will

051be instruction PLC collaboration and responsibility in finally instructive practices and we use we'll use only high quality differentiated instruction daily which we do in parts of supports teachers will be testing other assessments for individualized instruction and support this is research This is something and then instructional teams use to plan lessons and identify students assessments. We look at mathematics and just make sure Murphy's necessary things change and shift and unfortunately um there's nour Texas. So we have to kind of slide those curriculums in our takes some knowledge from instructors to know how to do that. Our vision is our vision is to help every title one student full potential by ensuring parent access to great teaching, strong support and family involvement. Our values was um written as we value every child and are dedicated to their

052success through collaboration, growth and respect for all. And we only had to write two goals and our goals were um we would like to improve title one students reading proficiency by providing targeted interventions and small instruction progress monitor through fast bridge a reading which is our screener and by the end of the school year we'll reduce the number of students in some risk or at risk categories. So the way our fast bridges are set up now it's divided into four categories at risk some risk on target and then college path. So we to our kids from the bottom two. We're going to try to move them up. That's our goal. And it's very similar for our math goal that we would like to increase proficiency using targeted small group instruction and differentiated lessons and that

053by the end of the year we would like to reduce the number of students from that some risk and high risk categories up um according to our fast bridge scores. That's ours is a lot easier than >> Thank you. So to move forward with the compliance piece of this, we do recommend that we have a motion to approve the title rules for both elementary school and for central [clears throat] elementary school. Any other questions? >> Do what? >> Oh, she's done a ton of work. >> All those in favor say I. Motion passes. Yesterday privacy Please. >> Yep. the same time. Interesting. Is that the >> basketball? Hurry, girl. >> Come on. I'm afraid to touch it now. >> Afraid to touch it. came in. >> They came over and slept at our door today.

054>> Excellent. >> It wouldn't >> whenever the badge was tapped to it, it wouldn't retract. INA was there after school today and they're coming back tomorrow or soon to finish. They said they needed a part. >> Oh, >> I think Dread called them. So, >> I think we have >> I think they're coming over to put it. >> Oh, >> I think that's I think that's >> Yes, I know that is getting done. I do know that now. Mr. Murphy >> the other doors on those double doors. I don't know. though they're probably not going to do anything with those. >> It makes sense now why they did what they did. >> Yeah. Get to the tornado. >> It just the only way you stop that >> is you would have to have like they

055have in question. You'd have to have something on the back side of the doors. >> Not really a problem >> because those doors go shut under fire alarm. The problem would be is if they were shut and then there was a tornado, somebody would have to make sure pull those not get through. >> Right. >> So, everything going okay? >> Y might as well. We're at this point, right? >> Yeah. This thing's picking the sound up off the pipe head again and it's not supposed to. What are you doing, you stupid? Well, now that'll scare him. Uh, no. >> No, I don't want to switch between scenes. Sorry. Super >> accidentally take this >> chair only. piece about this big or is it bigger? And we're anticipating our assessments going up quite a bit going

056into next year with our control meetings. Last year was about $64,000 hike for our district. Um, and I'm anticipating probably be around that same mark next year. Um K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K Abd conference is this weekend in Witchah. So looking forward to uh Saturday during this weekend for that. Um talked to Boss Modell. All our financing is in place. We're just waiting patiently for those finalized blueprints uh to present to you guys and then getting started um with all the bidding process. I feel like we're a little bit behind schedule on that. They don't feel that way. So um as soon as we can get those finalized blueprints, we can move forward with the bidding process. So, we're

057we're working to get there. Um, I did want to visit with you guys a couple of items about the recent election. Um, so district two right now that Chair Lee is the board the member of, um, they did have a couple of writing votes. Um, the Kansas canvaser committee will be here November 17th. Um, they have to make sure that the writing candidates are within that correct district. And then what I was told from Miss Vopad was that they put those names in the hat and they draw one name out of a hat. That name that they draw in a hat, they'll see the they'll send information to to see if they're interested. Um if they're interested, then they would start on our board at the 1 of January. And if they're not, starting January

0581, that district 2 seat would be open. So, wanted to just give you guys a little feedback on that as well on what we were told. Uh just a couple other radar items. We're working on our Tissa 2.0 action plan and our capital outlay list. We'll continue trying to get some bids for that. Next meeting we'll have some of our fall coaches and classified evaluations. And then um we are also working on our middle school track uniforms are in really really bad shape. So we're trying to work on getting some bids on what that's going to cost uh to get some some middle school track uniforms to us before the year. We used to have rotation set out for other sports uniforms when it would be replaced and stuff which I know kind of got

059thrown off a little bit with some donations, which is a blessing. >> But do we still kind of have that? >> Yeah, I do have that. It just hasn't been updated. Like we've gotten to the point where it was updated. So like it was updated through like 2023, for example, and it hasn't it wasn't added on to. So, I just need to go through it and add those donations in where they were where they go to kind of re look at that. So, >> well, [clears throat] it seems like I think the middle school a lot of times kind of get left off of that version anyways. >> Well, and I was asked today if um when we replace things if the high school stuff could move down to the junior high, but that doesn't

060work because sizes aren't going to be appropriate. So, So that's what I have for my super member report. >> Any open agenda items? We'll need to get a board negotiation representative. Also, we'll have some personnel on there. And our hope is to have our ball coach evaluations done to present some information on that to you guys as well. >> Yeah. And we will have our capital just because we're prioritizing able. All those in favor say I. Thank you everybody.
