e e e I this meeting to order uh the first item of the agenda is approval of the [Music] agenda have to approve the agenda motion by Allison and second by Josh all those in favor say I I I any of those same sign motion passes 60 um next item is approval of the minutes from the 11 1124 meeting and our work session on 12324 motion by Josh second second by Allison any comments changes all those in favor favor say I I any oppose same sign motion passes 60 next item is approval of the treasurer's report and that is there for you to see I'll make a comment on that um as you noticed on the bank of R if you see um the deposit for State a double because the state had some kind
of glitch so we got Decembers and novembers which is like the very last day of November they made the December deposit and usually it's deposited on the 1st so I had a receipt November 1st and December first in November so that's why that looks inflated there that should go back to normal normally they're late but this was kind of a pleasant surprise so yeah so that's what that means if you guys notice that large deposit of state aid that's not normal so there won't be one showing up in December then okay any other questions or comments energy a motion to approve the treasures report motion by Allison second second by Josh all those in favor say I I any oppose same sign motion passes 60 and reconcil sorry approval of invoices anything you want to
call out Mr Murph yes so just a couple of items on number one uh the first thing you're going to see is from the Patterson D the Patterson grant for half of the fence for Holly Roode we'll have the other half for the daycare in Holly Rood once that gets finished uh there is another item you're going to see as you scroll down through there we also have the lease that we paid for the holwood bake here on there as well for the first year and that's roughly $9,000 for those two rooms for the first year combined you're going to see that one on there as well and then um a couple items on number two uh we have our graduation Alliance that usually is a pretty big ticket item that's on there as well
then we also have I believe our sped allocated amount for ckcie or our sped Services is on there too so those were a couple of the really big big ticket items [Music] any other questions or comments the last one you'll also see one for our um auditing service that we did for our 2324 audit that's on our last invoice that's on the number four one I believe to approve the invoices as presented motion by Alison second by Josh all those in favor say I I any opposed same sign motion passes 60 now reconciliation of the cash balances report okay as you looked on the cash summary the cash in the Bank matches uh the cash sum also matches the treasures reports everything that isol this is the public form Dave I will remind you you
have five minutes yeah uh I'm David worth and I uh came tonight for two reasons uh well really three number one was to recognize uh Mrs Murphy because of her uh uh she took an help my granddaughter out of the ordinary to uh go ahead she was uh not going to be able to participate in the school play so she took it upon herself C to uh uh go ahead and help her with her uh uh homework and stuff to go beyond what was expected and I really wanted to make an acknowledgement to the board of that and it was really appr really appreciated uh it made her so she went ahead and get been on you know what we can do for these kids when they're The Underdogs of what's going on you know
it's Sports and stuff makes a lot of kids highlight some kids don't get that opportunity to highlight and if it could just the play was big to her thank you uh other one is a CNC machine uh I don't know what we need to do uh or where it's going but I've talked to both the boag teacher and the um shop teacher I had the shop teacher fix a drawer for me is how I ran into him and then I asked him what we could what I could do or what we could do as a board for him and her also hers was it plasma machine which uh Bobby said he's going to talk more about this evening and uh the other one was the the The Woodworking teacher has a some I guess it's
a CNC machine for woodworking I don't really know the facts of it but I would really encourage the board either to take a hard look at it or uh I'd be willing to even and I I sure I could gather an several people to go ahead and contribute to making this thing happen for us in the school because uh we have got to get these U uh tech jobs down you know in our schools I mean we we push college and I there's no we're not going to have any plumbers not electricians or not you know we we've got to go back to basics here a little bit and encourage it and do what we can to fund it and I think that your I think the community uh would step forward I understand that
if you buy a new one they're like3 $40,000 and you have to have and the grant will do that if everything falls into place but if if it doesn't or apparently there's still some co-op money you have to still do it uh if they could go out and buy a used one I've got three brother-in-laws that are all electrical engineers and that's all they do is fix CNC machines I mean and I they I've talked to them both three of them about the woodworking end and and also the steel end of them and uh uh they would you know they're willing they see them out there my son has also said he has seen you know good us ones in that $10,000 range uh of what you know something to start with and then maybe
build up later I I um I would I would like if someone would come back to me or communicate with me in the future where I could help do some fundraising or something to help this happen uh just let me know but other than that I just wanted to praise are that's the first time i' met her and I just wanted to bring the bring the appreciation to the board and like I said if it uh this Tech thing is with the kids from here on you know the tech thing is the big deal so let's try see what we can do with it let me know thank you [Music] D yeah item number eight administrative reports our bank saying it's what we have in our activity account um robotics we started at last year
kind of a pilot with some of our kids this year we going to have four sixth graders participating in the program um they meet every Wednesday after school they started November 20th and they're going to learn to code their robots and they'll compete in Haze last year we had the bad weather on that day and our kids didn't go get to compete so I'm hoping they'll get to compete we're hoping there'll be maybe two competitions that will get to take them to um our steam night with the Cosmosphere was a success we had a nice crowd really nice Crow crowd um then on the Brett Crandle on November 22nd we had him come in and do that oneperson puppet show with Robin Hood I mean the kids just love that I mean he he gets
them engaged everybody's participating and then he also brings kids up on to the stage with him to participate and um really he does an excellent job the sixth graders completed the community's care survey on December 4th that's conducted annually um tonight of course is our music program on the 12th the cosmos come back in the building and do a program for our fifth and sixth graders on the 19th second grade will go to the clapin community center and the legion and um our kids if they earn their reading goal they're still striving to get to that reading goal uh we'll have an hour of activities in the gym that day and then the 20th of course last day of the second nine weeks our winter parties are early because we dismiss at 12:30 on the
third teachers return um that's a work day on the 6th our kiddos come back and then I'll be taking some kids out to eat um earning 100 points in their reading and then our service projects this year we we've been raising money for carrying the Comfort dog if you look in the office there's a big container full of change and I mean we set it up where 5 minutes extra recess 10 minutes we're at 30 and thenes of extra recess they're at the top of the container we can't even we were carrying it into the gym we can't even carry it into the gym anymore anyway Karen comes to our building twice a month it's excellent the kids just love to had the dog in the classroom with them um food drive the Hol Church
reached out to us and asked if we would do a real quick food drive right before Thanksgiving we brought down quite a few cans and stuff and told them anytime they need that just let us know sometimes they need it another times they don't I want to thank the H&B employees they're going to be donating food for 14 of our families in our community for Christmas and then the Junior Senior High students in their Giving Tree will'll be giving gifts to 28 students in our building as well so awesome time of the year so any questions thank you I thought I had a lot I don't feel so bad now um so beginning December 2nd through the 20th we started our Festival of trees this is an annual tradition on the 5th of December we
had our um final star base um and the kids just have so much fun with that and they got to do the Rockets and everything that was really exciting um this last Saturday on December 7th we had our district Choir in Hay we had six students attend for that on December 11th which is this Wednesday we're going to have coffee in the Commons with Mr Murphy we'll be there um and I'll talk a little bit more about that in just a moment um also that day um our letters to Sant will be due so I Heard lots of murmurings Miss Moore I wrote my letter and so there was lots of excitement for that then on the 16th of December and I'll talk a little bit more about this but we're going to have Christmas
in the Commons then on the 19th um the kids will be headed to Lucas for a movie and that's an annual tradition then on the 20th is the half day of school um we're also going to have staff Christmas party that day um then the 20th third is the winter moratorium and on January 3rd we'll have the staff work day so with this um Festival trees I put a picture of the independent reporter on the sheet that I gave you I don't know if you saw it um but it was featured in The withth Independent reporter which prompted about 10 calls to me asking if they could come to the school to see it so I thought what fun it would be to have everybody come and so parents and students and community members are
invited to view the festival trees um we're going to have sugar cookies that they can decorate and they get a picture taken with Santa Dudley and um the the students that were in the choir competition are going to be caroling and um so the festivities will begin around 5:30 and they'll end at 6:30 um for the coffee and the commons um I have the third and fourth graders are going to be doing some skits and readings and then I have those that were part of the um dist or the district choir are going to sing that at that point also just to kind of share because I've heard really great things about it um so I think that covers those pieces then on our character education we're doing very well it's just really amazing to
watch their kids and and all the different things that they're doing and they really want to get those caught being good um certificates so that they can U hopefully get their name drawn our word this week is peaceful and we'll carry that in through January on our after school update we have 20 students who are enrolled full or part-time and our reading groups are averaging four per session math groups are still remaining at three per session and we also had KSU I didn't include that and I apologize KSU came out um on the 20th November I believe it was and did a fun activity with the kids um so they're they're working with that and they're going to come back every month now um we have no openings at this point at the daycare we
just um filled the last one and we have 13 I just added another name on to our um weight list Mr Murphy and I are working still to try to get to see what that's going to look like and what shifts we need to do to get the second portion of us opened my enrollment has increased to 78 I brought in three that Ro from Russell and I do have two more that will be coming to me um in January so I have a pre pre and a kindergartener that are coming so that puts me up over 80 or puts me on 80 and I think I have one more potentially that can take me over so I'm really excited about that at the uh site Council we talked about our parent survey results and
then we're trying to take a look at a way that we can get um a birth to five screening program set up for those kids coming into the daycare because what a beautiful place to do it they come in our daycare and then they come right into prek and we've already got them screened and ready to go and if they need anything as far as Services um we can get the co-op right right on it and get those speech and language and any um physical things that they may need otpt whatever that may be and then the final thing is a personal note I just um wanted to let all of you know that in my hand I hold my principal licensers license um I completed all of the requirements it was actually a pretty
fast thing I didn't know it would go all that quick I paid it and two days later I had the license I've never had a teaching license 30 years that quick so this must be I must be on the right path here um so I just would like to formally express my gratitude to the board and the district for the opportunity and um and I hope I can continue to serve to your expectations conratulations all right um we moved our music concert from last Tuesday to next Monday um the music didn't come in In Time Mrs root was very uh frustrated and worried about being ready for the concert so just in case anybody has heard Rumblings in the community um the we do have a Junior High game that night but it's just against
Chase and they only have a team we will be done by 6 o'clock the concert starts at 7:30 it will work out great so we can make it work so um that will be next Monday the 16th um on November 26th we held a hobby day and I included some pictures for you we had um lots of different things for the students to do um they got to move around to three different stations and they painted and made bracelets and did Escape rooms and all kinds of fun activities and then in the afternoon we watched some movies and Mr Gonzalez brought in a gaming room and they got to play video games with each other so that was really fun um we were kind of worried about our attendance that day because we thought you
know that was just that one day before Thanksgiving break and we were like oh and they're not going to show up we had better attendance that day than we've had all year long just about so the kids actually showed up that day so um the good thing about that too was anybody that was on the eligibility list I was able to bring them into the auditorium and we worked on their work um so I'm happy to see on my eligibility report this week I was down several students because they were able to get their grades up um by working on some things so I was excited to see that um as far as Athletics go we talked maybe at the last board meeting or two ago that the CPL was trying to put that league
tournament in um coach styles went to the league meeting last week and they did go ahead and vote that in um so not this year but next year we will have a league tournament um and that is not the week before substate but two weeks before substate so it's kind of like they wanted it set up a little bit more like college where you have like your league or your conference and then you go straight into your postseason so it's going to mirr that just a little bit um he has actually already rescheduled the three games or the two games that were that week um in the in the year already so there were those three games we were adding he's already got those rescheduled so we're at our 20 I'm second guessing myself 23
right um Casa is starting a sportsmanship Championship Pro Champion program so each league will um be able to designate a winner of the for B and they're going to try it out in basketball season um one of the concerns at the CA meeting was the number of E s um from from fans um and so they're trying to kind of curb some of that so we will have the opportunity I think it's a great opportunity for us to talk about sportsmanship with our kids and hopefully they'll you know encourage their parents to be good sportsmanship at the games and we can um work on that being kind of like a community thing that we strive for um I included our numbers for our winter activities and sports um I feel like we have a pretty
good number of kids out for different things um we have over 50 kids at the high school involved and we have 104 so more than half um just with basketball and then when you add cheer and dance and Scholars Bowl in there um we're you know 75% participation in in those different things and they not a lot of overlap so um there are a few overlap but not not a whole lot so good numbers out for our activities um if you ask the basketball coaches maybe a a a little too many out no they're trying to find C team games guys is real hard and you know I don't if you ever been in that in that position but when you don't have C team games parents get kind of upset about it so just
trying to add some extra games in there so that they have the opportunity to play um from our counselor um our seniors and our sophomores completed the ASVAB and I'm sure you guys have heard of that that's a it's the test that the military uses um for placement in the in the military programs but it's actually this in immense um database of things that students can use um for career exploration so we actually had sergeant Park come out and um interpret our scores for the students and they were able to get in there and see how their scores correlate to jobs they can see what programs are available collegewise they can see how much money they would make in that job in Colorado versus what they would make in Kansas which I think is really
cool for the kids to kind of Branch out and and see that big picture our juniors in will have the opportunity to either take the act or work keys in the spring the state of Kansas offers the um at the act for free at their junior level and um that's a $60 test that they get for free so all students have the opportunity to take that if they don't want to they can take the work keys um and I know at the beginning of the year we talked about the postsecondary assets which will be start being part of graduation requirements um both the ACT andw keys are on the list for postsecondary assets so it's good for them to have that so that they start you know having those those things available we had a
FAFSA night last week to help parents get their FAFSA and their and the seniors get their FAFSA form completed um we have a good percentage of that that's another thing that's on graduation requirements not that it's a requirement but there striving for 100% participation in the FAFSA which is sometimes a hard um goal to attain but we will work the best we can to get those kids um the FAA completed I just ask the teachers to share a few things um Mrs oer shared about The Giving Tree the NHS and Leadership have their Giving Tree they are asking for 56 gifts most all of those have already been um spoken for so Mrs oer will be able to distribute those soon um we have the NH chess and Leadership going carolling and the band and
choir are also going carolling and then um we had three students who traveled to District Band last weekend um and they will um have the opportunity to audition for kmea um for the state band in J that's all got item number nine K 2.0 okay this um is kind of spiraling back to a conversation we had last board meeting we did have the opportunity to visit with our teachers um about our fundamental and our structure for our Kissa 2.0 component um whenever we gathered all the data for that day from the different buildings they were right in line with what we talked about at the board meeting so um the fundamental that we picked was standard standards alignment and then professional collaboration was the structure so we did get our plan placed that day before
Thanksgiving and I actually heard we heard back from ksde today we just have a couple little minor tweaks to it and then it we have to resubmit it before December 23rd so feel like we're in a really good position with that okay item number 10 the professional development plan okay so spiral background to this it was first read last week and there was a lot of information in there um it's one of our accreditation items that we really need to kind of have hammered down um there was a lot of information in that in that booklet just a few recommendations in red that we will adopt from um the professional development plan once Smoky Hill decided to uh kind of take a look at that and help us make sure we're meeting all the regulations
with it so um my recommendation is to um approve that professional development plan if you guys de it anybody have any question your comments a motion to approve the professional development plan motion by Allison second by Josh all those in favor say I any opposed same sign motion passes 60 item number 11 the junior high high school mitigation okay so again spiraling back to our conversation we have um that's just last week wasn't it just last week we did attach the bids for for your guys' viewing for the mitigation process we did send three bids out we only got information back on two of them um the bid from isi um is only for the removal of the ceiling tile okay the bid for ACM is removal of ceiling tile uh 3 inry Way tile
and the mudded joints as well um we did not receive any information back from the other uh company that we reached out to with that um ACM was the only company to actually send a person out they did send a person out to take measurements to walk the hallways with us to look at actually what they were getting into before they put the bid together so um so the ACM bid again is 3 to four weeks um doing it in one phase after I believe the date is June 15th I don't want to speak out of turn I want to make sure that's correct yeah June 15th uh 3 to four weeks is kind of what they expect expect it to take um you guys can kind of see the proposed for all the projects
the sub subject terms un below there the only thing that we will have to add to that is we will have to bring in a third party to do the air clearance test so that will be an added amount onto that um so their bid came in at 62,939 75 and then for isi again theirs was just removal of the ceiling tile um and they gave us three options the same comparable option again all they were going to do is the ceiling tile um and they're at the 127,000 Mark 127,50 then I see you've also attached the ceiling tile I yeah I did attach that one but before we do anything with that I just want to give you guys that as a first look on kind of an estimate on what that one is
we will have to get three comparable bids for that one because of the price of it so um just kind of wanted that information for you guys to have a ballpark idea in your mind of what that's going to run as well so be able toint in June after June 15th yes that's the that's the day so our hope is uh it be either June 15th or the next day it would be our hope is when they'd be able to come in and do that so our conversations when we we talked um principal Murphy and myself and then Tim as well um and Miss oer was kind of in on that too about how we could share some of our custodial staff between buildings so when we did get in open time and we did
get the air clearance test back that we could really hit that that area and try to get as much done with you know the flooring and the waxing and the the ceiling tiles put in and that sort of thing um we have had those conversations on exactly how that would look um talked with the company a little bit on what that would look like and you know they talked about where I call it the V where the office is at and it V's off into that middle section trying to um make sure they're meeting all of um the guidelines set forth by the compliance guidelines for that where one side of it is still workable for custodial staff safely and then the other side is completely blocked off that they're just working on taking that
out and doing their side of it um and then that would include it's my understanding that would include the the at that time they would go ahead and do those tiles in the entryways as well that way since they had it blocked off instead of hopping back over and then coming back to the entryway they would try to do it in in sections that would help our custodial staff out well you have to do two air qu deals like after each yeah we probably will because we can't really technically as soon as they're done in one we can't be over there at all until the air company uh comes in and does their deal once they do it they come in and do their air quality test I believe they said it's a three-day turnaround
on getting that back then we would have to go back to the other side and then we'd be able to switch sides have we talked to somebody about that haven't yet nope whenever had a little bit of a conversation with the gentleman from from ACM um usually this far out it's pretty easy to try to get somebody booked the hard part is going to be trying to nail that date right on the head when they're done um I think if we if we communicate with them early that'll be a little bit easier for them to say hey we're hoping it's this date that they're done in there but if it's a day earlier can we try to schedule something where did he recommend anybody he didn't I'm sure they probably have some people that they
work with but they try to keep that separate especially with it being a third party that comes in so I'm sure they'll have some recommendations um on some other companies that maybe have come in and done this um in some of the other schools that they've they've had to do the same with other questions EXC if not I would entertain a motion to approve the bid for mitigation from ACM as presented so motion by Allison second by Kayla all those in favor say I I I any oppos same sign motion passes 60 Mr President I move that the board govern an executive session pursuit to the Kansas open meeting act to discuss non-elected Personnel for topics of classified staff and substitutes to protect the privacy of the individuals to be discussed with Mr Murphy present
and return to open session in this room still five I got 538 second byon all those in favor say I any same e e e I should have we're back in open S um I move to approve shanell kermer and honey Anderson as daycare directors for their respective rooms at the usd112 hollyood daycare motion second by Chad all those in favor say I hi any oppos same sign motion passes 60 I move to approve Patty hip as a par at Central Plains Elementary School motion by Allison second second by Josh all those in favor say I I I any oppose same sign motion passes 60 I move to approve Cara white as a substitute for the daycare at Wilson motion by Alison second by Josh all those in favor say I I any oppos same
sign motion passes z Mr President I move that the board to go to Executive session to discuss confidential student information pursuit to the exception relating to actions adversely and favorably affecting a student under KO Ma and return to open session in this room 550 with superintendent Murphy and attendance and uh principal Jess Murphy to be on call call motion by Josh second by Allison all those in favor say I I anyos sign motion passes e e e we're back into Open [Music] Session item number 14 the superintendent report okay just a couple of updates uh daycare wise for Holly Rood we are moving ahead with getting the Furnishings purchased talked with the insurance Insurance uh or our insurance provider for daycare and Wilson um and we will add those two policies to that that's uh
roughly about $1,000 for the whole year about $522 a piece for those insurance policies so um little under uh $1,050 so um we are opening up application process for non-faculty members just to try to get that narrowed down we're not promising anybody spots yet because still waiting on the Fire Marshall for heri their final sign off and then we're waiting on uh kdhe to be able to come out and do their on spot um inspection as well so um not doing any promising with any spots for non-faculty members or kids that aren already under one of our employees that are going to move over so um we got that rolling I want to give you guys a Heat update and this is a really long story so I'm going to try to do my best
um we do have a train technician coming to Wilson Elementary School either tomorrow morning or Wednesday morning okay I did call EPM today so we have our train unit on top and then EP EPM controls all the controls in that building okay whenever I called them they say well it's it's not ours it's on their end no it's on back and forth so I called EPM today had them run a quick system update on it the control says it's something about a relay switch which means that the fans are not kicking on in The Big Unit so found out today when that startup happens at Wilson Elementary School The Big Unit up top does have a furnace to it and that's what starts the day at Wilson okay so that same air conditioning unit starts
the day once it gets up to a certain temperature that kicks off and then the boilers run it the rest of the day so the EPM guy was well do you just want me to override that system and have the boilers push out heat for them yes please so he did so we did have heat up there today um had a couple other conversations with them as well and this is I'm not going to get in into too much detail on just a communication gap guys is really what it is um when I talked to the guy from EPM today he hasn't been out here in a while but it's my understanding we did purchase a new computer for that EPM system at Wilson last year but I don't know that there was ever any
like development on how to run that system or anything else so I asked the EPM guy I said well can you tell me why we can't shut certain rooms off I said I'm I'm told that we can't shut certain rooms off in that building that's why we have to run the air conditioner and he goes I can shut any room you want off from my computer right now and I was like what do you mean and he goes all I have to do is override that those certain rooms that are not being used don't get heating and air conditioning and I can do it from here so he is coming down in January and he's going to meet with Miss Mo and myself and we're going to learn that system front to back so we
know what systems can turn on what systems can turn off how to run those rooms the only thing I can think of is if there's one control running three classrooms okay and that control controls this room these two are empty then you can't shut that control off because this classroom have used which didn't means we probably need to have the conversation on how we can move things around just a little bit so we don't have two classrooms empty that are getting heating and air and that sort of thing so and you'll have the ability to shut that's what the EPM guy Ben told me today so he's coming out in January to show Miss Moore and I how to run that thing well the big problem all along in my opinion has been lack of
communication between train and them yeah just so when I called train back today they said okay if the relay switch does say it's one of the fans in the unit then that is us so that's why they said they will send somebody out either today tomorrow morning or Wednesday morning to look at whatever it is whether it's a relay switch last time it did something like this I think two of our fans burned up because they were working overtime up in that unit so I don't really know what that whole thing is going to entail when they get there to look at that um there's just a communication gap there and we've got to get over this to I mean you can just imagine if we're able to shut half those rooms off now we're
talking about the electric bill in the summertime being cut in half from $8 $9,000 down to four that's a huge huge savings so um um we just got to get to the bottom of a few things and we're going to do that so that equipment last exactly yep yep so um kind of moving forward with that um so we do have heat up there um it is pushing out heat Miss Moore went around today and made sure that you have to run the special the the exact thermostats for those classrooms so she went around and made sure that was working and then in the classrooms we weren't using it wasn't turned all the way down but you know it's turned down enough to keep the pipes and everything from freeze and everything that with the
boilers so that's where we're at with that situation right now for our our Heat update up at up at Wilson Elementary School so um audit report report we did get some preliminary findings for our um audit report from a couple years ago and I'll pass this this email around and let you guys see it so just some of the preliminary findings um in 20122 school year the district submitted 28 credits that were not compliant with statute of these credits um that have appeared they actually were earned in 2021 instead of 2022 um all the credits that were submitted in 2023 are compliant so that's good news um in 22 and 23 ksde appears to not approve credits that were statutorily compliant the most significant year was 2022 when it appeared that 500 credits that were
like likely statutorily compliant were not funded by KSD so back a couple years ago when those 500 credits were turned in I guess ksde said we're not going to pay funding for those these guys are staying that they should have been held statutorily compliant for those 500 credits um it does say some transcripts were not accurate some had credit documentation in the wrong year um one thing they said is the school district does not provide adequate oversight of graduation Alliance and the creation of transcripts our understanding is that the district only reviews transcripts once the students about to graduate that is correct this leaves many transcripts that are only that are not reviewed each year we plan to make a recommendation to the district to work more with graduation Alliance to ensure that the district
transcripts are reviewed and are accurate so their recommendation is we need to look over those more than one time probably when they're coming in sometime in the middle and at the end and that's going to be quite the undertaking so like Miss Templeton that's in charge of that and she's teaching half days if she's going to be um that's going to be part of her job duties I don't see how in the world she would be able to teach half a day if she's going to have to review those transcripts for each student three times so um ksde did not fund credits they deemed excessive we noted several problems with this first the department does not have written policies defining what is an excessive credit and how they will review it um the department also
took an all or none approach on those credits in some cases the department did not pay for any of the credits that the student earned even if only one credit was problematic so the company says I will notify KSD of these findings later today that was last week that was on Wednesday um it discuss previously the district will receive A draft copy of the report once it's released and the draft will provide more detail than the information Pro uh provided above so is this a third party this is a third party yes ma'am so I'll let you guys if you guys want to take a look at that as we keep rolling okay I did want to spend a little bit of time oop I'll let that go around but did you guys have any
questions on that okay uh CNC machine update we did meet today Miss Murphy murger and myself met um we did talk about the process of purchasing um and the usage of a CNC machine plasma table um they are there is one at Molly manufacturing and Lorraine that is a used one um we haven't had the chance to go up there and see the machine see it used make sure it's running running appropriately um I I do think that that Miss shamburger does have adequate knowledge of those machines and how they run we sit and talked about um how it can affect the community and different metal signs and projects for the community and classes that we'd be able to offer with that that would not only help our students get some of those skills but
also could help community and districtwide from top to bottom so um roughly that unit is about $15,000 the used one in Lorraine a new one is anywhere from $30 to $40,000 but there are some doners that have lined up to um absorb a lot of the purchase of that CNC machine um it does need a 220 electric outlet we do have some options there to bring in electrician to make that 220 ventilation could be a little bit of a problem there but we do where mamberg is talking about putting it there are windows there are doors if they were using those they would have to make sure um you know the ventilation side of it was something that um that we had adequate in there as well so somebody talk to Molly yet um I
think I'm not 100% sure on that I think that Molly manufacturing somebody there um maybe that works there and I can't remember the name you guys are going to have to forgive me is there a is there a slesinger John I can't remember the name doesn't work he doesn't work there he's one like to see she has she has visited with them she'd like to go up and see it but she didn't want to over she didn't want to put the cart before the horse so she would like to go in the next couple weeks to go check that out one of the things that she mentioned was um she'd like to have one that's a water table that way it can you don't necessarily need to yeah that's what she said and there was
something else there was a reason for it I'm sorry I don't know much about CNC machines but she has clearly worked with them before she knows what she needs to make it look good you know work good and um yeah so it would be a little bit more because the water no one of Molly the water one it is so the direction we gave her was to go ahead and try to find time to go up and look at that see if it's something that she thinks would work she thinks it's up to par you know we talked a little bit about you know we have some Perkins funding here and there and staying in the Consortium but most of that has to be um new and then it's just really hard when you tagging
that more in a Consortium than individual um an individual District on how it's mutually beneficial for all the Consortium if it's just at our place so well I didn't know somebody had talked to Molly you know maybe they give us a better deal because has come into a school potentially for certain classes which could potentially give them employees yeah she I don't think the sh have a certification I did reach out to our insurance provider today just ask them if there's do we have to have anything separate to make sure that we have that and I haven't heard back from them yet but they usually are pretty good within 24 hours of getting back to us on what that would look like so so I don't I don't know let me ask that to see
if there's an exact certification I don't know from talking to her today it didn't really sound like there was but all she does have quite um a broad range of certification she has enough that she can teach college level courses so she might already have what is necessary she had one her where she that's um so the direction we gave her was to go up and take a look at it see if it's something that she would want um and she'd be able to use for her kids in the community and in the classroom um and then kind of come back to us and then we can talk about donors and where everything lines out and you know we even told her if it's something where there's not quite enough money there um from donors
to still come and let's have the convers position because if we can help with that we want to make sure and and help with that if there's a way we can the one thing that I am concerned about is you know um we do have a a young lady that is doing all the clothing for the basketball and there's like 300 and some orders and that her and her kids are working day and night trying to get these orders done and out to people um it's just a one concern that I have is is we're just going to have to set some boundaries if there's large orders and people that want things done like on what she can do and not be up at the school to all hours of the night working on metal
projects you know but um that's kind of the direction we gave her before we accepted any donation it does it would have to be board approved when we got to that point so I know you guys some of you guys have worked with CNC machines what do you guys know well the only thing I know from my experience is a water jet machine your consumable parts are going to be twice you're don't use twice tce as much versus a regular plasma table okay she didn't tce as much what consumable items for the machine like your nozzles for the water jet just you're running high pressure water through there with it's not a water jet it's a plasma table I thought they said this one's a water jet she said it was a plasma table but
when we talked to her today well it's got water under it so it catches all the spark it's just water I my vision of it was like a ceramic tile cutter where it was just like it like helped with keeping the actual one thing that she said that might might guide some light on that is she said you have to get the water and then you have to treat the water right and then put the water the water's got to be treated every so often yeah before it's drained out so I don't know if that's so she thought the additional expense would be about $1,000 every two years for the water treatment yeah but like we have both at cashco and we have one that cuts with the water and the consumable items on that
like the nozzles and all that it's twice as expensive go through twice as much than just a regular plasma is that okay you like treated water is that so you can just dispose of it normally or does it become like well I think it's to cut the oil and everything out of the metal that you're cutting so you can dispose of it just down the drain no she said there was a specific way to dispose of it you might know a little bit more like just the ones I've been around they I mean the water I'll ask that question how do we is the water safe to dispose of down drain to that she said there was a specific way and I would imagine like a filter okay that is all I have guys um
item number 15 any board member reports speak all once uh item number 16 open Agenda items number 17 itams for next month's agenda okay so we'll have to um do our election for officers next month and also our resolution for board meeting dates times and locations um that should say for 2025 that should say for 2025 um personnel and then board me member represent representative for negotiations we'll have to get that all lined out as well and then any policy updates that came out after towards the end of the year the first of next year as well um you know one thing we talked about a little bit last month is um you know seeing if we could have one of our board meetings up at Wilson you know we had one here probably be
good to have one up there at some point and when we have that meeting next month we you guys can discuss that at that something you guys would like to doent [Music] motion second by Josh all those in say I anyos same sign Mo in January okay
