001okay God everybody Google or YouTube or somebody does some around all oh [Music] tired I hear you well okay I can mute the e e e okay and call the meeting order first item on the agenda is approval of agenda 204 meeting and4 questions comes excuse me second by Josh all those in favor say I questions Moes number all inor say IL h thank you for permitting me to speak this evening and I want to apologize because I'm up a little bit old I plan to be to the board meeting a month ago but I didn't make it so what I want to bring up is the article that was in the ellworth reporter about the Wilson Foundation and there was a statement there that is very concerning to me uh this was made by
002I get my light here this was a statement that was made by a person by the name of Brenda or B said he is concerned that the central PL usd112 school district is draining the Wilson side of the District of things that students Wilson Elementary School need canetta indicated W students can't go on tours because the school district will not give them the money to do so I don't know if that's been addressed I have not heard anything about it maybe it's already been taken care of U but I hope that it has been the board members or board member has spoken to this individual superintendent spok as the individual or not but I hope that it's been taken care of and that we can have good relations with Wilson if this is their attitude
003then we got some work to do thank you so it looks like um we need to appoint two members to serve on the Hall of Fame Committee in last year um to my knowledge CA and Chad served on the committee um when doing a little research on this I don't think it's anything that has to be um recommended and improved by usually get those back by the end of oob so we've been working on the after school program at Wilson um it's one of the um one of the items M Mo and myself have been working on since we kind of got here this summer and we talked a little bit about how that program benefits the people at Wilson not just um with extracurricular activities but also helping families out and having um different
004um activities for them to do after school um so couple things I want to draw your attention to that you're going to probably hear more um is the KSD list of activities that you can use at risk funds for it's called it's on our our paperless board meeting so evidence-based programs and practices you're going to see some of the items marked off on there but they're really starting to look at atrisk funds and trying to make sure that the atrisk dollars from KSD is going where it's supposed to go so one of the items that's on our evidence-based practi and programs if you'll scroll down a little bit is an after school homework assistance mod so under the A's it says after school homework assistance so we're going to be able to use some of
005our atrisk funds to be able to help with salaries for the at risk programs of that risk um for the after school program so that's one thing I called Dale Dennis at KSD and visited with him about um on the other document that's on our paperless board meeting you will find what an at risk student is so if you click on that one it says atrisk guidelines and if you scroll down just for your guys' knowledge so you know to page number three number five on page number three it says an at RIS student is one who meets one of the more one of the following criteria and it has not working on academic grade level not meeting the requirements necessary for promotion um not meeting requirements for graduation for high school has some insufficient
006Master skills retain has a high rate of absenteeism has repeated as suspension or expulsion is homeless and migrant identified as English language Le J says has social emotional needs is identified as a student with dyslexia or a student that's in Foster K so if they meet any of those criteria they are defined as an analyst student we have to have data to be able to back those items um ksde uses the word collateral benefit you have a program that's for at risk kids and you have kids that are not at risk the kids that are not at risk still get the collateral benefit of the program visiting with Miss Moore um we feel confident to start off the year we'll need two employees to work the after school program depending on the size of that
007if there's more kids or less people we could be maybe having to add another person to P last year this morning we were averaging about 25 is that right so we really think that number is going to be between 20 and 25 again so we would start off with two employees um and the the one um part of the at risk that they really want is they want somebody that's certified with the at risk kids if you're going to use the biggest trunk of that money so um our recommendation is on our um on our had two last year we did have more you help we actually had three and we had some people that filled in so yeah we actually had three okay and if you if you include me but I I did
008an after school math club so but I did not I did that voluntarily but that actually made four of us that were working the after school program so we had three5 When Miss Mo looked at that number she Wasing she kind of thought around 20 where we would be to start this year we've lost a couple of the kids that were attending that program so to keep that rate of pay um right now we're paying $16 an hour um so for any staff that's working at whether they're licensed or not licensed so um one item that we would like to present to you guys is move that non-licensed St back1 help the funding side of it so if we have a licensed staff member that's working it we're going to we would like to stay
009at that $16 an hour if they are not licensed or working towards LIC we really need to talk about moving back that pay to what we pay everybody else that works any part of any after school activity which will be so um the recommendation on that is um to keep it at $16 an hour for licensed staff and then for non-licensed staff to be $12 per hour and we worked on this bud about RIS for our budget for this year so do we already have two that are willing to do it I have one in myself okay I'm working to get one in another person I'm still going to work the program but I I feel like we need to besides me and I'm already paid for it you know so again this is one
010of the programs up at Wilson we don't have it any other school but it's really important to that community hours it's 2 hours from 3:30 to 4:30 we're running over 60% at risk and over 60% of the kids that are in this program are at risk and that's why I was concerned we had three in that ballark 256 do you think we can find I have one lady that is interested she's a retired teacher and so I think maybe she would come on board with us the one the one lady that has run our program for the last couple years um I talked with I spoke with her today and she did have a long-term substitute license before and so she's willing to obtain that again that would put a certified there also ofay for
011Li St and non sta number so we're looking to make an amendment to the um high high school handbook comp sorry I keep finding things add to it but um so I want to make a distinction between work study and the internship um and worked program that I'm proposing traditional work study is a student doesn't have enough hours during the day they to you know in class and they just want to go work outside of school and um they might work for their dad on the farm or whatever um that's work study what I'm proposing is actually a program through kce that is an internship and work fa learning program for CTE students CTE to make sure we're on the same page is that Career and Technical education that's the one where we have all
012those Pathways um that ties into to this program um so you can kind of read through how that would be worded in the handbook but basically if the student has taken classes their previous years and if you remember in our last meeting we were talking about um the students having an IPS plan so an individual plan of study that they parents and the state of Kansas say we need to have that so if we're going to do it we might as well do a good job at it um so starting their eighth grade year they would start planning for their high school so if they plan correctly by the time they're seniors they'll have enough credits where they can go and do an internship in the pathway that they're planning for um so this can
013look a lot of different ways um we can do a student who's maybe doing welding classes they can take an intro to add their freshman year they can do welding they an animal science class um they can do a a faab a structures um and then their senior year if they want to go work in um an elevator or uh somewhere Welling gets a little tricky because of the liability not a lot of people will take on a student who's not 18 in fact they're it's not that they won't Ian they can't they won't you know they they just um their businesses won't allow them to but um another pathway would be like education we had some students that would take some education classes they could actually go work in their daycare you know if
014we had a so um gives them some really good Hands-On um practical knowledge I'll give you an example a couple years ago we had a student who was in the health cway and he wasn't sure what he wanted to do if he wanted to go into Chiropractic um or into PT so we actually first semester internship at the hospital um in the PT department and actually went second semester with our chirra that was in town and decided that PT was where he really wanted to focus and that was great he didn't have to spend you know hours of college trying to figure that out he he figured that out as senior year in high school so um we do have some students who are who have on their own taken the uh CNA program um
015so my proposal would be to allow students to if if they plan themselves and you know we're going to have to be forgiving with this because the students won't have done the planning very you know they won't have had all the classes to be able to do it for a couple of years there will have to be a little forgiving on that but um with the idea that when the younger kids are up there that they would have their classes in place and they be able to do those internships um or if they have some sort of certification they could use their certification in place of one of the classes that they do not have on their transcrip um you can kind of see what the asks of that so they have to complete paperwork
016with their parents um they have to meet with their internship employer and the coordinator for the school which would be me um they have to sign in and out of for work daily out of the office they turn in time sheets weekly and and those are graded so they would have they would receive a grade for their course and if they're not maintaining then they would have to stop come back to school and lose the the chance to internship they to all their classes and these are State rules these aren't mine these are actually what the state requires uh they have to attend 80% of school um they have to complete journals and um their classwork does count or their this class would count towards their eligibility for sports as well so if they're not
017maintaining the things that they need to in their work study then they would be ineligible you know to kind of make sure that they're learning those SKS um they would earn a credit for each hour that they were gone during the day so if they so the state says we can only allow them to go two hours um to be able to continue with their full-time status as students at Central Plains so um let's say that a student we had a Kido a couple years ago that went into work as a CNA at 6 o' in the morning and then he came to work or came to school at like 9:45 so he missed the first two hours and and was here the rest of you know was at scho the rest of the day
018so he got his in before because he was an athlete and he wanted to be able to go to practice um but he was able to work a 4our shi which is what the hospital him to do um so he earned two credits um for the entire year here those first two hours were internship um the other piece of that is if they are in a pathway and they are in an internship receive funding that funding for those C so it's kind of a so do you guys have any questions um any concerns about that they do sign a driver contract there's a confidentiality form that they also sign um the employer actually is asked for their final to give them an evaluation that they sit down with the employer and um are evaluated and
019use that as a fin um it's a really good program and it's pretty comprehensive but if there are other pieces that we want to add we can definitely put that on top we don't have to go with just what the state says if you guys are okay so we're adding this information to the hand the handbook right we don't have any policy in the handbook currently for anything about work study so call it work I would I would put it just like this internship and work based learning program I know you might not know the answer to this but do you see any of our seniors this year that will take advantage we do have one senior who has already asked me if it's possible for her to leave or leave school last hour and
020she's a CNA um and fully certified she works um she doesn't work she works in agency which means she doesn't work for hospital she works on her own you know she works for an agency and they put her places um so she would like the opportunity to do this and I wasn't I just I wasn't trying to push too much you know my first year so I but and you know our seniors only have to have two classes required so it does kind of lighten you know and but it gives them such a good experience too it's not really that we need lighten but it does give them something we've noticed too that um sometimes we had some attendance issues with some students and then they had this opportunity because they didn't want to lose
021the opportunity to you know not not so we I Hado they went to a cosmologist obviously the nursing we had the daycare we had kids that um have done like an actual teaching where they actually got in and got to teach class um so it's a really good a really good thing and like I said we do get that half um time extra half funding for at Le that they would so they were gone so did youti know I mean we had maybe a little bit in the welding ad classes but it wasn't the seniors that were going had already taken all of the the drop was because the students were interning I think the drop was just the interest in will a little we were offering more animal science a lot of really and
022so we kind of shifted a little bit that direction so I don't know that our our drop was in our electives because of the work stud it was more sh and you know if you have them in a program where not just anybody can enter and they have to plan you know they have to make a plan you know four years in advance and and not saying that they can't switch their rol they they could go into business that they'd rather as long as they have you know two classes um but it did it did make our CT classes a little bit Fuller because they needed those classes where they didn't see the benefit otherwise they didn't see that they needed they would do for them um we actually got to the point where a
023lot of them then were looking at college classes in addition to school too so maybe they didn't want to intern but they want to into college classes that we couldn't offer than in high school they take macroeconomics for some reason do you have to set up anything in advance with any of the businesses or anything like that or yeah what what I would like to is um just kind of take this year to kind of make some of those Partnerships you know because we don't have a lot of students right now that are eligible um based on this criteria so I would start making those relationships with the businesses so that if they you know we had somebody then I could say hey we got this kid the other thing where a lot of our
024internships came from was each of our CT Pathways have to have an advisory committee and so the people who served on the advisory committees would the students to internship or know somebody that you know would be interested in so our health pathway was very active um the director of the hospital is actually on our committee so she was very very open to having students come over and she worked with them and they didn't even have to be a CNA they could go work in the foods be acian so we intern work learning say Okay attached to the document is our building needs assessment each building um I just want to take a little bit for you guys to look through those and review those when we um approve our budget or have questions on our
025budget next month um we will make sure we we have looked at those building needs assessments so I just want to allow a little bit of time for you guys to look at those and then also if you had any questions um with our principles in attendance that we could try to answer those the best as we can I too the as of last last year mine mine was as of last week but it's a little different than that today mine are based upon May mine are also so if mine was May it would be 137 on the high school I'm just saying all right that's small to okay attach to that and again this is not an action item this is just a review item is our code 99 um that talks about our
026proposed budget this will be the actual document that will be published in the paper we wanted to a fresh look at that to see what that looked like before it was published um it will U we completed our budget review and T everything really good this is a code 99 document that be the newspaper and again you'll see on there that we um are going to publish being under the revenue neutral rate this year um we will publish the budget and revenue neutral Hearing in the the revenue neutal hearing will be at 6:00 on our next board meeting is September 9th and then the budget hearing will be after that at 610 on September 9th and then the board meeting will follow 6 we just wanted to make sure you guys have opportunity to look
027that over was published basically the biggest overw of that is our funds are going up so it's always good and on to item number3 transport okay we vised a little little bit about uh last board meeting so we sold three vehicles this past spring two of these Vans were sold on Triple W for a total of $2,350 and then we sold a wheelchair accessible van to a neighboring district for 12,500 the plan was to add a 2020 is used minivan to the fleet for our route to salinaa that's our sped route that we take every day four four different trips up there uh 2 in the morning and then 2 in the afternoon uh we can Pur with all the warranties that a new vehicle brings it also gets better gas mileage for less than
028what a used costs use manys especially the lower mileage mileage ones we would be looking at are still really expensive so on our document we have a few bids that were presented to our transportation director give you guys a chance to look over those we do have the central planes Fleet attached to this as well uh the vehicle that we're proposing would also be a vehicle that we would get depreciation over an 8year extent and I believe when we looked at that sign was 15% the first year 12% the second 10% on down to 8 years but it's only 8 years from when the vehicle year theic if we if we ended up buying a used vehicle that was in 2020 we're not going to get the years appreciate value if we bought a newer
029vehicle we would get the 8 years depreciated value on it over the lifetime of the depreciation running that so we have two bids there from two dealerships two different options talking to our transportation director the the rout they would like with one of the Chevy tracks which would be five people and then it also has a area in the back that it has a hatch where you can put things as well right now we're only transporting one kid back and forth to that Sal trip we transport and right now we're using one of our min back and forth right now and they actually started that today they started that route today so we do have in place to go ahead and go that route um to make sure that we're doing our due diligence transporting
030wise I feel like we need to sit down at some point and really look at the vehicles we have and the mileage that we have and uh get a game plan together going into this spring on what we have moving forward and what we we decide that we want to sell some other vehicles that we have in our amount of vehicles that we have but also look at getting some vehicles that are less Mile in our vehicles we have don't you know you guys would like us to get a game plan together and table this till next month we get a game plan on what this is going to look like what we're W to keep and what we're W to get rid of throughout the year um you know we can table this until
031next month and then have a more def gameward imperative it's not talking talking to our transportation directors about for the next month the only only the only item just you guys understand is we would probably have to go back and get the next month though we we have it plan in place to make it work that's you guys just so you know onuc and regardless of what you guys you know decide to do we can still get a plan together and bring that plan you know next month if you guys you know yeah four times a day we're going so if it's a vehicle we're want to look selling we're using minan talking to our transportation director we would recommend doing the tracks the gas model is really good on that profile vehicle than the
032Vans um a lot of times the wind that direction our have that's a that's a great question if if we have to transport a student that is in need then yes we will so that's why one of the vehicles we have right now one of the Vans is a whech accessible to use that that's one that they talked about um but we were really like I don't do that just because because we would have to have a whe chair accessible land you know other districts are usually really good about if you visit with sometimes know it's my understand we work with other districts something you can look at that way but it's always something makes nervous especially that yep sh the twoy tracks I think the other one had a little more features to it
033at I think the biggest one was it says it's a WPA driver confidence Char options sub o' super we [Music] okay resp uh till 7 nothing's working e e e okay we are back to open session I move to approve the substitute list as presented motion passes assis all those in favor say I anyos same sign motion I move to approve PJ sty res as Junior High Assistant basketball coach passes I move to approve Katie Ryan as high school assistant girls tennis coach for the 20242 sorry I move to approve Jennifer fer as concession stand sponsor and supervisor for the 2024 20 same sign motion passes I to mattle is Junior High boys assisted basketball coach for the 2024 2025 school year second by all those in favor say I any oppos same motion passes
034move to approve Pat Styles as High School cross country coach for the 2024 2025 school year I move to approve Darren marel as regular rver second by all those in favor say I sign passes board member reps anybody I had Zoom meeting on Friday for the first meeting for the legislative committee and was just kind of giv us itinerary and dates after on August 24th I will be going to and be discussing kind of our first changes to that I will be definitely kind ofing ibly some emails to you guys just going to get feedback thoughts I just so that I also have only yours I'll probably reach out to some other districts um then as soon as we're done with that they start different listening tours to the 10 different districts throughout the state
035and I don't know if you know because I didn't know the legislative committee how it's made up it's made representative from each of the 10 different districts um and then Al so board member from each of the 10 different districts and then also a board member from the five largest school districts in the state so there's 15 board members on the legislative committee and that way they can make sure they have representation from throughout the state and that is how I don't know if you guys watch dur the legislative session I do watch on K when they talk at the end of the day and say you know whats have been introduced and what's going on that day and everything I watch those and they won't give any testimony unless there's been discussion from the
036legislative committee on what our stance is so if there's not stance on the perent policy or on that year recommendations they won't give testimony so so this is UC [Music] which idies either he is now he is a member of he got nominated about it I will go to CH on August 24th and we spend the day in meetings coming up with the first draft and then right after that we go out on the legislative committee listening tours um and so we are and district 10 will be on August 28th that next Wednesday manatt and they're actually going to be in be nice but that's not technically our district on the 29th September 24 onbody inate on for anybody opion all board members and super adrc that's that's kind of that um one of the
037things that caught my ear and they just kind of mentioned it as an aside at the end of it was that at the end almost like okay well think about these things and it's like wait what but I was definitely the smallest school they were interested to see they do work with USA and's what's going on think I'll learn a lot great it's AE thing I didn't realize and then another thing to think about which superbody DOA so are we going to have an evaluation fill out prior to the meeting is that what um I feel like it's more of a communication for us to for the first isol that we use next year for first least admins my enrollment numbers I'm going to add one more to prek 3 so there's 22 and add
038one more to third so 27 so my total number right now is 229 and you can see the single classes first has 20 and fifth has 23 so I think our Max on that fifth grade is 24 August 9th met with the new teachers in our building Lake and hm special ad de Kimble sixth grade we had our back to school meetings today with Mr Murphy and Diane my staff will have CPR training tomorrow certified in classified then I'll have my faculty meeting on Wednesday we'll have our Title One meeting at 6:30 for parents then our meet and greet from 7: to8 where families come into the school and then Cindy Roots can also have the instrument display that night um from 6 o' to 8 for our fifth and sixth graders August 15th Thursday
039first half day for our K through 6 and then 16th we'll start our pre3 and prek 4S Labor Day already September 2 our fourth grade go on a day field trip to Great B on the fourth and um I think all the administrative the three of us plan to attend a Statewide curriculum leaders meeting they're usually in TOA you know so this one's in Hay so it's a little closer and also we plan to attend that on September 6 any questions all right thank you there is a calculation there online for Wilson for the year 2022 the count is 93 not 83 um if you look I'm not anticipating anymore this was our numbers we um there was one family that I had approved to come from elsewhere they had kindergarten nther and they own
040property in Wilson but they didn't have not enrolled I don't know if they're going to come but that would be only one more we have everybody else so 78 is our number as of right now um we attended today our back to school meeting with with Dian uh we did our CPR training today and I'll have my faculty meeting tomorrow um we plan to do a meet and greet on the on Wednesday from 6: to8 our families will come our first half day of school will be on the 15th then on the 16th um prek 3 and four first Labor Day is off on the 2nd of September as um jam will be attending the curriculum meeting in Hay then on the 17 we have planned to do a dinner in the movie night Cent
041information night and tan is coming to talk with our families about the importance of attendance to kind of address some of our attendance issues and then I also have OC coming to talk with parents of those students with special needs um there's something called a 90d waiver and um that waiver is actually School a transition from school to Career or school to secondary or u university or college whichever dire that they're going that ID waiver has currently right now a 13 and a half year wait list and so we need to get if we have if there are students in our communities that need would need those Services down the road then we need to get them on that weight list and so they're going to come and then they're also going to talk with
042parents about the services because Ellsworth County is one of the services districts that Serv uh counties sorry any questions all right our enrollment went well um we were displaced a little bit but everybody found us that was looking for us in the um classroom next door so um I'm sorry I don't have numbers from before I couldn't find I just got plugged in this week so I didn't have numbers from before for enrollment but we are um these numbers have changed a little bit even since Friday uh we did have uh three students enroll on Friday and we had another student two students enroll today so we are up just a little bit more um we have three um foreign exchange students this year so we have two that are sophomores and one is a
043senior um and they are from Spain and from Italy so that was that would be added into this just got so um the I put in there our eighth grade single classroom it's actually now up to 22 as of today so um keep plugging away 22th graders in there interestingly I was telling some of you earlier um our all of our new middle school students are all boys so um we kicked off ear service the ladies mentioned um I don't really have much of a Kissa update because we haven't had anybody in the building besides just ourselves but um that curriculum leaders meeting that uh Jamie mentioned um usually has a lot of information regarding Kissa so if we can all get there and get that information I feel like we'll be off to a
044good start with Kissa um and we can move into our meeting with Amber and November knowing a little bit more about what we're what we're looking at this year our report we had our coaches meeting today and all of our coaches were in attendance um we talked about lots of good things for the upcoming year I'm excited about the crew that we have they're really excited about working with the students um we will just so you guys are aware we will have a few students that will have limited eligibility as far as Sports go through Casa this year um their moves are either they're Ming districts um and they don't meet the um am I TR say like a sanctioned move um they're not their family isn't moving um and so they will have limited
045eligibility for sports so in high school it's for a full calendar year that they're El they're limited eligibility and that just means they can't play Varsity level have to play gdd um at the middle school level it's um 18 weeks so it's one semester so we do have two students that will have limited eligibility um and that's not anything that we can control that's what say going to do we're going to do um our fall Sports practices begin August 19th and then we will have a parent meeting night on August 20th for the students and parents to come up and get information from Sports to meet their coaches and such um our Council report we will be looking at that a newal curriculum we actually um are going to be meeting administrators and counselors to
046sit down and look at what needs be on that atrisk curriculum that way we can F the through at risk because that is the definition of that so we're going to try to use at risk funds for that curriculum the curriculum that was purchased previously had been taken off that atrisk list so we're trying to find something that meets the needs um the high school middle school is going to be using a program called e pass um where the students are able to sign in and out of their classroom um and that way we can you would be shocked at how much time students are spending outside the classroom it is a lot um so we'll be using that because and that um can be funded on the atrisk list because it is a check-in
047checkout system um our building report we thankfully for the booster club we have new paint on the doors and that is looking really good um we've had lots of compliments on that um we did have some roof issues in the gym and roof was still leaking I think we think we have that pretty well um taken care of I was really nervous but when they refinish the floors and we were going to still have leaks you know it's going to be a problem we did have a leak right before um they refinish the floors and he did a a moisture test pretty high moisture but he he went ahead and went with it and it looks fine it all it all settled fine but um I feel like the just had some issues the air
048conditioning I think when they are messing up there kind of CA you know some extra we have it all under control right now um I checked all weekend with the rain there wer any weeks this weekend so um they're still working on the air conditioners those will be set in September and we will have all of the students um the day that they're working they will not be anywhere in that area um with the cranes and things that they're using to put the um those pieces Up on the Roof that the students will not be in that area um and our Corp project a little bit long we're on track now and if you go in there you looks really nice you guys have any questions concerns M mury say your number is 151 I'm
049sorry yeah um I think 151 yes I think that's correct okay so our superintendence report um I unless you guys have questions I won up on what they said uh daycare wise we're still waiting on the patteron Grant in Holly Rood we're still waiting on some information from the architect to decide if the firewalls are 1 hour rated firewalls between each room uh that's kind of been a chore to reach out to somebody that'll give us some some feedback on what those are going to look like wall wise so those walls that separate the buildings have to be 1 hour firewalls to separate the the rooms from other rooms um there they can be rated as a 1our firewall I I'm not an architect but I think the way they're built will constitute as a
0501our firewall but um so we turned that in the company that's working on our air conditioners kind of put me on to an architect in Hutchinson that we kind right now she might have to come out and look at those walls make sure that they meet the requirements our hope is can look at the specs we have for those walls and us fir that's our that's where we're at with those right now um like I said flooring in the high school is going well bathrooms at Wilson we have those under control we've got some of the the uh valves replaced and some of the toilets so that's all going well and then also in the sinks as well so that's on the right track we have the walkin cooler at the elementary school in h
051Rood is all up to date and rolling all gym floors and all three buildings really really nice they look really good the company came did a good job the gentleman that was here doing those floors said next year I think it's 12 years since they've been sanded down um and he recommends those being done every 10 years so that's something we roll in the next year Bud wise we are working on the quote for the the doors at Wilson we do have a quote but on official quote we just have a roundabout number we're working on to get those locks on the outside of the building Wilson and then painting the exterior doors about that District service went well today uh lunch ladies did a great job with breakfast this uh cafeteria was completely packed
052with everybody so it was good to see everybody and welcome everybody back I did want to give you guys a report with Russell I know we had a committee meet with them um just to give you guys some feedback on that they're looking at uh different ways of floating a bond to open a new k26 building the only way they believe it'll pass is to add a County sales tax on there and if the bond and sales tax were to pass we could see some of those funds flow into our district since some of our district come from some of Russell County they're unclear how these funds would be divided it could be per pupil it could be a flat rate as well um and that decision would be up to the county commissioner so
053they're also the russle group was entertaining the thought of a town hall meeting at some point in endurance and they'll reach out back to us if they're kind of thinking that direction and it would just be an informative meeting in nature that would allow the to ask questions so their next step was they were map meeting with their County Commissioners last Monday um me and Mr Perez will keep contact that way I can give you guys information whenever they kind of make a decision on which way they're going to go the KB conference is coming up uh you guys have a little document in front of you that talks about those dates so if you're interested in going to thate let us let us know and we'll get you guys fixed up with the room
054and everything at the district office and then today we got some good news we had we were approved for the srsa rural School Grant um that Diane worked on last year so that used to be the reap Grant and that's about $32,000 that we're going to receive usually we use that my understanding we usually use that for technology in the spring so that will kind of help hopefully offset some cost that we had for the capital Outlet projects we kind this this July so um questions howal add additionally you're talking about the fling here yeah um so the tear out part is not going to be included in their bid that they originally did um whenever we had the mitigation procedures that was a little over I think $112,000 to tear all that out so
055that'll be an added cost there will be a small added cost with the hard surface good that they're putting on the outside of the office but Millers was kind enough they donated that hard surface good to us so we were really happy about that so we'll just have the installation charge of that which don't know exactly what that installation charge will look like because they didn't get a chance to get in there till today to start on um if they were going to have to do any filling the floor and that that that was that was in the quote but it was an additional it was a different company that had to come in to do that so when we talked about that number um that number does include that a quality test as well
056in in there with it even though basically the company that we went through in C Nebraska is a company that paid them to do it then we they did a really really good job so it's good to know we're working on that folder back at the district office to get all that stuff up to dat do you want an exact number of what that cost you give me one second [Music] this time of year flowers I think already always cancel those Hotel sold out neighboring Hotel sold out so I think she's ring resence about um I'm going to say to by the end of October to register for the confence I was worried that this wasant season but it's not I that people yeah so I would say the end of October B check with
057NI to make sure to read the print on those registrations you guys probably got emails throughout reminding me of the conference and it might be on there early bir blah blah blah so we'll check on that I'll let you I also think might be a when you have multiple from the district you're right I'll have you did you ever I that was the first I of heard of it so I have to follow Kenny figure what talking because as far as I know they have not denied anys or anything we saw it it was posted somewhere yeah so I'll I'll follow up with that's what he read and well we we read it too yeah oh you were G you weren't here yet when he had the public for he had the newspaper and it
058yeah yeah I'll maybe I get some EXA talking about maybe I have not heard anything he didn't really say field Tri he said tour and I'm not sure if he me the same thing or what yeah I'm not Kenny Kenny Ben was the one in the article simpsona super I pass
