Understanding is we don't have anybody to do um with rules and engagements. The purpose of this annual organization meeting is to organize the board for the coming year by electing a permanent president and vice president. As you can see from the agenda for the organization portion of the meeting, we will not take up regular legislative business of the board. First order of business is to elect a temporary president to chair the organizational
004meeting. Nominations will be taken, closed, and a roll call vote will be taken for each of the nominees. The nominee receiving the majority of vote will become the temporary president and will proceed to take over to lead. Next, nominations and voting for the offices of president and vice president will take place in the same manner. >> I just have something to uh before we get into the nominations. uh the school board and vice president Bushy. I've enjoyed the years that I served as a board member and president. During my 15 years, I served with Dr. Clark, Dr. Hatton, Dr. Aken, Dr. Hatton again, and Dr. Axe. During this time, the district had its share of drama. We have all worked hard with Dr. Axe, Dr. Flannery and all the administration that was the band that
005we hung as an outstanding school lets us know that we are really on the right track. In respect [clears throat] to my fellow board members, I am not going to seek the president this year. I have two years left. Um, I just want to, you know, wanted to give somebody else the opportunity. Uh this is three and a half years for me already, and I've only known him as our president. And uh just the the modeling he did as far as how to run an appropriate board and a board that um all has a voice and
009all cares about kids first because that's not how it is everywhere. So, we're really fortunate uh and I am blessed to come in at a time when you had elected him president. So, I want to thank him personally and uh thank all of you for your willingness to serve the community and on this board and this school district. Uh and a reminder that for the next board meeting, you need to let Mr. Bushy know your intentions as far as the committees that you're on. If you'd like to stay on those committees, the only role that is voted in, if you remember, is treasurer in June. So Dr. Kiteon would stay on as treasurer, but all the other roles can be flexible going into the rest of the year. If you want to remain on the
010spot in the spot that you're at, please let them know if you have an interest in something else. We do know that the CTC seat is open. So if someone's interested in that, uh, let Mr. Bushy know immediately. So if it's some one of you, we can shuffle around the other responsibilities. >> So we're not figuring that all out right now. >> No, that just needs by the next meeting.
