002item three, approval of the agenda for tonight. >> So moved. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I posted. >> Yes. >> Uh would like uh I need a motion for this September 22nd school board meeting. Second. Okay. Any questions? All in favor? I >> opposed. Dr. X. All right. Everyone's favorite time of the board meeting, the learners of the month. So, first up, Baron Elementary, Payton Oaks, grade three. Miss Seaffir. Come on down. Say hi to everybody. Say hi to everyone over there. All right. Hello. So, the third grade team from Barry Elementary has nominated Peyton Oaks as our learner of the month. It is my pleasure and honor to be here tonight to speak on her behalf. So, Payton is a very p passionate, motivated, and respectful learner who exceeds all of the

003necessary qualities of a differencemaker. She is simply just a bundle of joy in the classroom and she always tries her best and consistently has a positive mindset even when things get a little challenging. With these qualities in mind, Payton also demonstrates her exceptional leadership characteristics, proving to be a role model for all of her classmates, and I can always count on her to encourage those around her and to help them when they are struggling. Her personality just guides her to naturally take control and be the voice of her classmates when things get a little confusing. Um, beyond academics, Payton just has a great relationship with all of her peers and her friends. Her kindness, her honesty and excitement just bring our class together. She has a spark to her that is simply contagious and it

004brightens everyone around her. It is easy to see that Payton understands what it means to be a true friend and respect everybody. I am not the only person in the building who appreciates this outstanding learner. Pton's talents and amazing personality are noticed by all of her teachers and staff within Bar Elementary. And we are very proud to nominate Payton as our student of the month and excited to see her to go on and do great things. >> All right, next up, Dorun Elementary. Carter Cuts, grade three. Miss Amanda Richards >> cuz I was It was 5050. It's my fault. >> So, it is an honor to recognize our student of the month, Carter Cuts. Carter is someone who truly represents what it means to be a difference maker. To the staff and his peers, Carter

005is willing to lend a helping hand, whether it's assisting a classmate or someone who's struggling, volunteering to clean up after an activity, or offering words of encouragement when someone needs them most. Um, kindness comes naturally to him, and his positive positive attitude makes our classroom a better place every day. Um, he also takes great pride in everything he does, no matter the task, big or small, he gives it his full effort and attention. His work is thoughtful and always done with care. But what truly sets him apart is his love for learning. He doesn't just stop when the lesson or assignment is finished. He's always asking questions. Um he's exploring new ideas and he goes above and beyond to deepen his understanding. Um so his curiosity and ability to make connections just continues to astonish

006me. Um so I'm so proud to have a student like him representing the very best of our class and our school. His kindness, dedication, and enthusiasm inspire those around him to do their best as well. So, please join me in congratulating our student. All right, next up from our middle school, Hazel Lauski, grade seven, Mrs. Hess. Right. So, I am honored to be able to present Hazel Lowski as the student of the month for October. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Hazel during the last two months of school, and it is a true privilege to award her with this um award. She is a student that demonstrates the key qualities of a Baron by valuing her education, seeking to improve herself, taking risks, and facing challenges with a positive attitude. Hazel is

007a dedicated student wanting to do her very best in both both inside and outside of the classroom. In each of her classes, Hazel always comes to the classroom prepared with a smile and ready to learn. She is willing to try her best in her assignments and activities, no matter how difficult they may be. She devotes her energy to completing her work with excellence and displays a positive attitude even when facing challenges. She is persistent with difficult tasks and seeks to answer her own questions, but will always ask for help and clarification when needed. In addition to her academics, Hazel has a willingness to work with any other student and provide them with help when she is a when she is able to. She treats all learners with respect and is willing to be grouped with

008anyone in class to help accomplish a common goal. I have seen her answer other learners questions when they aren't sure what to do. Hazel provides positive to support positive support to all learners. As the year progresses, the hope is that Hazel will continue to to display these positive attributes, seeking to become a better student and a differencemaker at the middle school. >> All right. From our high school, Ashton Frist, grade 12. Mr. Brenville. >> Good evening everybody. Uh, it is my pleasure and privilege to present Ashton Fritz to you, a senior at Mannheim Central High School. I've had the distinct pleasure of working with Ashton in concert band, jazz band, marching band, and music technology over the last four years where he has served in the bands as a section leader, drum major, role model,

009and mentor. He is consistently excellent in his technical ability, musicianship, and scholarship regardless of the setting or situation. By all accounts, Ashton is a humble yet highly achieving student. I've personally known him to be a conscientious student with an intellectual and musical intelligence as well as work ethic that are rivaled by few. It is because of those very qualities that we are recognizing him tonight. on the marching band field. He has been a natural leader using his knowledge, experience, and expertise to help out not only those students of whom he is in charge, but any student needing assistance. As a drum major, he was responsible with uh his co-drum major for working with and teaching a large section of the band regarding music, marching, and uh other responsibilities. In all aspects of his leadership, he

010set a positive and confident example for peers and underassmen alike to follow. He is a positive role model for many students and he is very and he very clearly leads by an example. His enthusiasm and care for what he does is infectious easily inspiring others. Ashton has a desire to excel. This is evident in his concert band participation as well where he demonstrates levels of musical competence, instrumental and rehearsal technique and etiquette that make him an invaluable asset to the ensemble and exempl and an an exemplar to those around him regardless of the instrument or experience level. The skills he demonstrates goes well beyond a band rehearsal and are evidence of an advanced, highly motivated, and highly intellectual student. I've never seen or experienced him dedicate uh anything less than his complete focus and wherewithal

011in any endeavor he undertakes. In addition to his academic schedule and musical involvement, he has also excelled as a member of a veum link crew and the bowling team. And though he keeps himself busy with all these endeavors, I have seen how he always has time for those who need his help. He is kind, caring, and compassionate towards those around him. Ashton plans to attend Elizabeth Town College to major in finance. However, I hopes he I hope he keeps a foot in music somehow. He would be doing the world a disservice if he did otherwise, as it would be a little less bright without his talents. >> All right. And Mr. Ghart and the rest of the board will be happy to hear that we have two CTC students being honored tonight. We have Destiny

012Kuster, grade 12, and Kayla Jones, grade 12. Dr. Whitel. Thanks, Dr. X. Uh Destiny's enrolled at our Willow Street program. She's enrolled in the um animal science and production technology. So, she's the Lions Club student of the month for September. Um she's involved in the Manheim FFA. She holds an office there as a Sentinel. Uh she does she's involved in the Langster County FFA and also raises rabbits in her spare time. Uh she very much enjoys learning about animals and livestock judging. Ultimately she plans to u start her own business in in animal breeding in addition to breeding her own animals that she'd like to work with Highland Cows and Ecoin. So Destiny is our student of the month for Will Street campus. And then we also have Kayla Jones. Kayla is our Mount Joy

013CTC campus. She's in grade 12. Been nominated by her instructor Mrs. Maddox. Mrs. Maddox reported the following. She's readily uh volunteers to participate in class, actively answers questions, and a positive representation of not only the CTC, but then the AHC program. She's kind and respectful and shows up with a smile every day. So, congratulations to our two students from the CTC. >> Thank you. And for tonight's student feature, the high school decided to honor the high school marching band with a season recap and just kind of sharing how the season's gone this year. Come on up, guys. Thank you. First and foremost, thank you for the support of the Manheim Central Marching Barretts. Without all of your guys' support, we could not, you know, achieve the greatness that we have today. We have a strong

014season currently with the growth and a bunch of differences during the season. Some of these changes include a new writing staff, new division, and a new schedule. Um, we overcame these with strong focus and determination. And to add on to what Ashton said, um, we got an entirely new set of these amazing underassmen that have achieved so much at such a young age and I couldn't be prouder of them as a fellow drum major to Ashton. As a result though, with their work ethic pick and with our student leadership, we have increased 14 points in the past five weeks and we have surged up to fifth place in our her division. At our invitational on Saturday, October 25th, we had over 19 bands perform with us and the invitational was entirely sold out. um as

015we continue to push through uh through the rest of the season with our foot on the gas pedal um p pushing towards towards our uh championships run on November uh 1st at 3 p.m. at New Oxford High School. Uh we are hoping to keep pushing the show to become the strongest that we can get it. And we are hoping that you could come see our final rehearsal run on Thursday, October 30th at 8:45 to see all the work we've put forth into creating what we call Circ Diabolique, our marching band show this year. this all our learners. I got to be go to the invitational on Saturday night and it was it was jam-packed. And what's really neat about the music and the band and the competition is everyone cheers for everyone where usually when

016you're at a stadium, you're either booing or cheering and everyone's cheering. Uh it was just the energy was amazing and it was you guys did a great job. It was really fun and it was a packed house. It was really cool. So congratulations. That concludes my report about our learners, Mr. Blair. >> Very good. And if you would like to leave now and go home and do your homework, fine. You'd rather stay in here and hear boring stuff. >> Whatever you like. Thank you. >> She get that. Thursday. >> Thursday night at 8:30. >> Yeah. >> To the our business uh personnel. Motion for 7 A through F like >> no I'm sorry no visitors no public policy uh 7 A through F like Frank 7 A through Frank second. We have a motion here.

017>> Any questions? All in favor? I post move. >> All right. I think we go 7 G. >> Second. >> All in favor? I opposed. So moved. Superintendent's report. >> Right. Thank you, Mr. Claire. First, I want to just share that um we had a lot of community historical artifacts donated. Miss Gisinger put something out on our social media because we want to honor the history of Manheim Central as many ways as we can. And the penants that you see at our table tonight are pennants that were donated by a Mr. Brandt. So, we want to thank him. Mr. Brendle and then Mrs. Brandt also brought in a lot of the artifacts that are out in the cabinet. Now, our resident historian, Mr. Claire, also donated some things and he shared that the reason the

018pennants are different colors because the classes used to be able to pick their class color as they went through the high school. So, yours was cherry and gray. very red and gray with our glass jackets, the stripe going around rather than down. >> So, he's claiming that he started. >> Did you have a car that matched? >> I do. I also have a fan uniform, which was the ugliest I've ever seen. Cherry, red, and gray. >> I I think Mr. Claire's trying to he's taking the credit for the maroon and gray shift when >> Well, we had that long time ago. So, I just want to thank the public for bringing things in. Uh Denny Yang's helping with some of the decorations. Just kind of it's just neat to see how connected we have we

019are in Manheim to our past and these are some steps that we're taking. Um letter B I just we have a lot to celebrate this first couple weeks of the school year. Uh I want to credit Dr. Neoth and her team, Dr. for Flannry as well with the power of education video that uh the IU asked us to be a part of. We were one of six schools that was asked that was asked to participate and the video is in the draft form, but even that is really neat. We had teachers from each level being videoed teaching and then kind of pouring their heart out about why they're in education. And we couldn't be prouder of that video. When we get the final version, we'll make sure to share it with all of you. Also,

020I shared uh earlier two weeks ago that PSBA recognized us as a great school in Pennsylvania. That was separate from the US News and World Report selecting us as one of the top schools in Pennsylvania and totally separate. So, you have that power video where we were one of six schools, PSBA, US News. Um, and you know, these are things that we're not out promoting. people are coming to us and that's really an honor and it speaks volumes about our administrative team and staff just all across the board. Um, going beyond was last week. That's where our juniors and seniors go out and serve the community. It was a great day for it. Uh, we got rave reviews. Mr. Fulmer and the high school admin team got a lot of really positive feedback. It's just

021neat. Dr. Dr. Finry and I got to go out and see the kids in action and it's just neat seeing them serving the community with smiles and you know they don't know exactly what they're getting into when they get to these locations and they're great sports about it. So we want to thank our kids number one for that for that day. And then lastly uh last Thursday night Durb got honored with the Kers Kersner Lifetime Achievement Award. Uh that's an athletic award and he was the last speaker and there were a number of speakers. It was what like a four hour >> Yeah. >> four hour banquet and Durb and 355 people. >> Derb starts speaking and the mic goes out. >> So Derb just kept going. I mean he just his voice carried across

022the whole Eden, you know, rest the Eden banquet hall there till they got the batteries fixed and he didn't miss a beat. So he did a great job and it was really neat to to have him honored. We had three tables of Baronss there that night uh to to recognize him. So just a really great way to start off the school year and I want to thank the community and our staff for that great start and our kids number one. So lastly, uh distribution of policy number 235.2 two for first read I want to draw your attention to and that concludes my very positive report. >> Very good. I don't think I ever remember a school year that we've had so many good things to say about our kids and our schools. So, I'd like

023to congratulate Dr. Axe, Dr. Flannry, and everyone else in our high school, elementary school, and middle school. And hopefully we can do this every year. >> Dr. Flattery. >> Yes. So I have four quick things in my report. Um the first one I thought I'd celebrate a positive. Um as you kind of have, if you may or may not know, attendance is something we've really been focusing on here. If you look at some of the data, you can see that uh in addition to just regular attendance, we're looking at ways to be able to have different tiers of support available to students who maybe aren't attending as regularly as we would like, whether that be for whatever battery it could be. It could be illness, it could be um some type of uh transportation concern

024or other. And so we really have been looking at like how do we make sure we're supporting our tier two and tier three students that are missing um you know some school and what we can do. So what we what we would notice is that if you look at the national rates for attendance before and after the pandemic we definitely see some trends in more students being out or chronically truent and chronic absenteeism is when a student is at least missing 10% of the school year. So 180 days in the school year, 18 days or more would be considered uh chronically absent. Um and and you can see that we we do have some things we we want to look at. So with the new program, we were able to get with your support link,

025we were able to look at our students attendance so far this year and compare it to the same period of time from last year and look at what do we see. And what we decided is we would look at um a success for everyone in addition to a two tier 2 support. So when we examined our first month of truency data, we looked at students who last year uh maybe were truent overall at the beginning of the year and we looked at them for this year and we're like who's starting the year on track and we did a reward system for them. And what we did is we sent them um a postcard and the postcard just basically said we're so glad to see you here. >> Great. keep it on up. They could bring

026at the uh some of the schools the card back in for a prize and I'll show you the results on that in a minute. In addition to that, we did some tier 2 support for for some students that did experience some truency. We looked at um implementing a strategy called 2 by 10 where staff would meet with that student for two minutes 10 days in a row every day that they were there. Not necessarily on anything directed to attendance, but just to be like, "Hey, how are you doing? Let's check in." So, I'm going to show you some of those results here. Um, and so if you we'll do the picture last, but if you look at the top right hand corner, you're going to see um a list of students, and I took their

027names out for this purpose, but in the middle column, you're going to see that their attendance rates for last school year, 2425 school year. So you can see some of them are in the red or yellow zone with the percentage of time they were in school. Uh and what you can see is after they received the reward where their attendance has been as a result um from that period forward. So some really positive results were there saying from just promoting the fact that they were here. Um uh on the left the picture is one of our little Baron students who received this award. Um he Oh, also I should mention before I say this in that far left column on the top where there's just three little reds, that's the number of kids that brought

028their postcard back in green. So like there's times we don't we mail things out, we're not quite sure did they make it, didn't they make it? Well, not only did these make it home, but they made it to return back to school to get that um small reward. Um and so this kid here got his reward. Teacher came up um to uh Dr. Moly at the end of the day and said, "What happened to so and so? He had the best day today." And she's like, "Today's the day he got his reward." So, even though um the teacher didn't know that was the day, it was evident in the classroom. Um was really exciting. Then on the bottom, you can see uh the adults that were assigned to be case managers for students that needed

029that tier 2 level intervention. You can see what their attendance was like before the intervention, which is the column D up there. You can see the result of their attendance after the column uh after the intervention in column E. So, are the systems perfect? No, they're not, but they're definitely making gains. Next slide. I went to uh MC Fee last week and asked them if we could uh receive their support that each school could have $100 a month to put towards a reward system or some of these initiatives in place. They very graciously did grant us that. So, I'll be excited to report back to them and to you what we see in terms of being able to to to keep this attendance positivity going on. >> Uh, not a question but a suggestion as

030for perfect attendance for the whole year. I think the students really love silly stringy people. So, maybe somebody wants to step forward to get silly string. >> Dr. Axe is always a great prize for >> become part of the job. Um, so that that is the first thing I wanted to report on. In other uh other news, just to kind of bring to light, there was an article in uh the LNP last week. It was a cover story followed by a little um midsection followup on homelessness. Um and just to kind of bring to the community's attention that um homelessness is increasing in Lancaster County and that's just not a city issue. It's an issue that we see here as well. Mannheim Central does have about 3.3 of its population that is identified as having

031some amount of housing insecurity. Um, and this is just a reminder to everybody out there that we do have programs that can help. We have social workers that are great with pairing people up for community resources in addition to some of the in-house pieces we have with Baron Outfitters and things that you know that we have. So, uh, just if there's people that are in need, you know, this season, have them reach out and, um, we can hook them up with some supports. Uh the third item I wanted to talk to you about was um something called Grale and this is a new program. So as you may or may not be aware um districts are now required to ensure that any content that we provide to the community is ADA accessible. Um, and so

032that would mean like for example in the presentation you saw that I did with the pictures, um, it would have to say as alternate text to the picture, picture of a boy holding a pencil and a certificate would be an example of how that picture could be ADA compliant. U, this is um a pretty large lift. We're expected to be compliant by 2027 and Dr. Neoth has done a great job already getting people um on the way for that. But our instructional materials that are on like Schoolagy or any of our online content, all of that it applies to every graph, every picture, every slide. Um, and so we found a program called Crackle that works with the Google Suite products to help them meet these accessibility standards. Um, and that'll take a large lift

033off of a teacher just having to know every little rule. But it runs a check. It says these are the areas you might want to look at. Maybe it's color contrast. Maybe it's a table being labeled. Um, but you'll see that on the agenda tonight. Luckily, a district level contract for us for all staff only costs $2,500 for the year. Um, and so we're hoping this will be like a one or two time expense and not something recurring on and on as we get uh we go down the yeah along the path of ADA compliance, but this will be an item um for your approval agenda. Any questions on ADA compliance or GRALE? Uh and then the last thing I just had was a runheide fight update. In the last two weeks, all of our

034buildings have gone through their first runhide fight drill. The feedback we received so far has been really positive. I'm going to just give a shout out to our first responders that attended from um Lima, Lancer Emergency Management, and both police departments. They gave us valuable feedback uh that we're taking to the teams and implementing when we do our spring practice. So, all in all, it was a great first round for us. That concludes my report. >> Yeah, just a shout out to Amy and and the teams that she works with the runhide fight to evacuate all the buildings the way we did and not get a single call to the district office or not, you know, what's going on at the schools because of the way that it was communicated out to everybody was very

035impressive. U and also just the attendance thing. Um taking that on is a big deal and showing that kind of progress this quickly is really encouraging. So, I just want to shout out to Dr. Flannry and her teams on on those initiatives because they will make a difference in the future. >> Thank you. Committee reports. >> Oh, that's why 10 A and B treasure. I almost got through you. >> Yeah, you skipped me, Mike. >> Yeah. So, Kelly and I spoke last week about a lot of the uh budget and some of the financial documents that we have. Do we have any dashboards that we want to share tonight? >> Yeah, this is an example. >> While you while you're pulling that up, Kelly, I the the two items to be approved, 10 A and

03610 B. I've gone through the documents. Everything seems to be everything's in order as per GAP. And uh I would just ask if are there any questions or clarifications from the other board members? But my recommendation would be to approve those reports. So if there's no questions, then I'll ask for a motion. >> Make a motion we approve. >> I'll second. Just want to point out there is a negative on the state revenue, but that's obviously because of where we're at and we don't have a budget pass. So anybody that's seeing it, that's the reason why >> some audit entry. Well, we've recently gone through our audit from last year. So some those were some audit entries, too. Since there's no money coming in, it stands out. >> Sh's going to give us a good

037update on that. >> Yeah. >> So, let's take the the vote to approve and then uh Kelly might have some dashboards we >> questions. All in favor? >> Post. Okay. So, moved. Thank you, Dr. Kraton. >> So, this um what I'm showing here is an example of a dashboard that I'm gonna I'm gonna put these out on the website for the public to view on a quarterly basis. So, um, since you just approved September's numbers tonight, the the first screen is revenue month to date, and it compares the last three years in September of, um, what we received and how we how we compare to those last years in graph form and then also in detail form. There we go. And then also as you go down, it does the same thing um for expenditures,

038monthto date. And then it will also give you the same format. Revenue year to date where we stand. As you can see, like our local revenue, we're on track compared to the last three years. Um our state revenue is down because we don't have a budget. Our federal revenue is down because we don't have any federal money coming in. Um but we are we are on track um with local revenue. Uh and it'll it'll give you the detailed form below. And then also on the expenditure side yearly and I'll have these, like I said, out on the website for the public to view just to show. I think it gives a good picture to see that we're we're on track um following the budget as planned and there's there's been no surprises at this point.

039>> Sorry, I was going to say only because it'll be on my report. I have that down. We went over that in business ops. Uh, can John can we put it easily on the website for people to find it in the beginning like how to get to it >> to find that report? So, >> I was just going to ask it's going to be on the website all the time. It's just going to be updated every quarter, right? Correct. >> Yeah. So, I'll put this one out. It'll be out there till you approve December's numbers in Jan. I'll wait till the board approves the financial reports out there. >> Perfect. >> Thank you. That's really nice. It gives everybody will questions asking it all out there. >> It's all out there. >> You have any

040more Kelly? >> Um, now we're going to go to board committee meeting reports. A from Mr. Linder, business up and facilities committee report. >> So, our last meeting was October 6th. A couple highlights we'll see here later um in the for approval uh updated uh for the tennis courts uh which that'll be 50% for us. It's uh 89,355 but that will be to repair all the tennis courts uh recolor it and everything which it that'll be really nice. We've our facilities we've we've touched pretty much everything for everybody else but tennis is one that we really haven't touched yet. So, that'll be a great thing. Another thing to note is we went through a sponsorship update looking at all of our athletics, not only just the athletics, but then the buildings and being very strategic

041about where we want sponsorships. We don't want it that the the whole school just looks like an advertisement. So, we're going to be very tasteful about it, but not only with that, gaining some revenue for the sports fields and being able to put that back into them. Uh next thing we'll see on uh for approval is in the middle school within the hub area to do an upgrade for some furniture and then that will u I don't know do we have any photos of that? We showed it in business ops tonight. >> That's fine. >> I can send it out. Anybody wants to see it, but it'll be some nice common areas that they'll be able to to sign out and use for learning for different activities. And then the last thing that I had

042which Kelly went over was financial dashboard. So, those are the main two things, the furniture and the tennis court, which we'll see later for approval. Any questions? All right, that's all I have. >> Thank you very much. Um, the academic committee report, Mrs. Walker. >> Yes. So, we had a very um full academic committee meeting as we always do with lots of great things. So, um just a couple things to share. Dr. academ um discussed the new teacher induction that's going on and how that's working out. Um, it was also great to have some teachers that are working on the person personalized learning and how we're taking it over and kind of um doing a little bit ourselves as a district instead of if you guys remember we were um they were part of like

043a what was the organization >> mass customiz MCL >> yeah MCL um so that's being in-houseed and there was a committee being formed with teachers from staff um that are going to be working on that at all levels coaching and helping other teachers with their personalized learning. So that was great to see um the update on the coaching website. Um just sharing some of that and the link at which um Dr. Flannry shared the attendance portion but this is a piece of that's really going to be helpful for data and the goals that teachers are using the data that can help with grouping and just making sure that teachers are monitoring growth. And so that's going to be all like all housed together so they can link attendance and um you know that was a

044great piece that we saw there but it's also going to be a lot more helpful for teachers to utilize for data curriculum updates. One really neat thing that I'm excited that Dr. Neth is working on um is the curriculum website which is going to be kind of like what your dashboard um look like. So I'm really excited about that and it's where people can go to look at what curriculum at different levels the course you know courses options things like that and that's all TBD um it was also shared that the community of learners were was held on um October 9th and that's where the teachers were able to share some of their own knowledge with other teachers and that was about it curriculum cycles were shared so it was a very in-depth meeting um

045excellent conversation and our next meeting is probably January 12th at 4 p.m. >> Okay, that's it. >> Very good. Anybody have any questions for Mrs. Walker? If not, we'll go to the athletic reports. Mr. Spency, >> we had a meeting on October 6. Uh Scott McGovern ran the meeting. Um he talked a lot about all the successes of teams and what's happening and uh kids involved and it's been it's been really good. Um we talked about the free passes to students. That's been a major benefit. Kids are coming to games um which is really good. Uh one thing that did come up was the idea of kids running around in Friday night games. The concern of that un un monitored kids just kind of running around and how do we deal with that? There's a

046couple different ideas of things thrown out there to deal with that, but that is a concern just for safety. Um, we love the idea of kids coming to games with free passes. That's awesome. But make sure they're being monitored. Um, the the rentals of the facilities was discussed. Um, we've done it in the in the past. It's been good. just some of the the logistics of it. Um dealing with over the winter with bathrooms, how do we handle that? Um bring in portagons, opening up facilities, a lot of them are closed in the winter time, the the bathrooms. Um nothing really finalized, but just kind of discussed also the Baron Field trying to deal with that. like a lot of people were just watching the game from the from the end zone, not the end

047zone, the at the at the end there at the concession stand and how to deal with that. Um, but overall it was a very positive meeting and excited to see what Scott has been doing. Been such positive feedback from people uh what he's been doing so far as the athletic director. Um, was there anything else that >> The only thing I would say about the viewing, the really reason that came up was because of holding potentially districts there and then having to get >> paid for it. So that that's really where the the issue came into place. >> That's it. >> Oh, the DECA. >> Oh, sorry. Sorry. Yes. Uh, is on the approval of the DECA club. Uh, and the next meeting you can be determined. >> DECA is a business club at the

048high school. It's actually the visit that I made to Eastern York with our assistant principles. They have a very robust DECA club and there eventually is competitions and it's a lot of finance and learning like how to move money and doing games and projects around that. So, it's a very positive club uh that Mrs. Kettz is looking to to host and start again with the two-year pilot and then revisit in two years to see if it's a worthwhile club to continue at the high school. >> Okay. Um >> so the motion would be to approve the club. >> I have a motion to approve. >> I'll second. >> All right. Second. Any other questions anybody might have? I think it's great opportunity. All in favor? I >> I move action items. Um 12A approval of

049the 2627 school district budget timeline which I think we all got to get that uh in a very nicely colored do we have any question have an approval for that >> I'll make a motion second any questions questions. All in favor favor 12 A I >> I >> opposed 12B approval of the agreement with Independent Educational Evaluators of America for an evaluation of a Mannheim Central student. >> I'll make a motion. >> Second. >> Any questions? All in favor? I >> opposed. Move. C. Approval of the quote from STS in invotive interiors for the purchase and installation of furniture for the middle school of access $39,963. I have. >> I'll make a motion. >> Second. >> No questions. >> All in favor? I >> I think that I think we already have the furniture. >>

050No, >> this is new stuff. Okay, >> we'll do it all. Yeah, >> we would not pre-order without boards. Hey. >> All right. Approval of a quote from Steagle Valley Flooring for the purchase and installation of carpet for the middle school hub area for $3,585 358548. >> Make a motion. Second. All in favor? I posted. >> Yeah, we can go. Um, E through Z motion. >> I'll make a motion. >> Any questions? >> All in favor? I opposed. We got that one through. I do. We have a we have a late put in which I been rathering them about. Um 12H through N. >> I'll make a motion. >> Second. >> All in favor? I >> move. I think we can go O through i >> 2 T. >> Okay. O through. Yeah, that's it.

051I >> Yeah, >> couldn't remove R. O through T. >> We'll make a motion. >> Second. Any questions? All in favor? I >> opposed. In Pittsburgh, >> thank you. What did she say? >> You're going to Pittsburgh. >> Oh, yeah. Going superintendent trips to Pittsburgh. >> Yeah. I heard uh I heard there's some people going along um that are going to pay some of the superintendent out there >> with silly with silly street. >> Yeah, that representative Mrs. Beachy. >> Yeah. the IU13 they had their last meeting on the 8th of this month and same as every other meeting they need more room up for a lot of people who want to get a lot of students who want to get into 13 classes. So that's the main main thing that's needed for I across

052the counties Lebanon and then I would love to get more involved in the our our school district and meeting the students and just using the teachers and encouraging them but just waiting to get the approval or you know that that be that would mean a lot to me. I would love to just like what Chip does with the CTC is get the classes and meet them and just see what they're doing and give them encouragement. That concludes my >> All right. Um we're just going to pass over B where his last CTC report. >> All right. I tell you I you're gonna have a shoes to fill are going to be hard. You've done an outstanding job. Chip Ghart, Alex County, CTC. >> Yeah. I'll never get all the students in my next take your

053whole name. I went to uh Brownstown. So, went to Brownstown for that. That's Kaden. And uh where's his name up on there? >> Con. He's also our kicker. >> Yes, he is. Oh, down there it is. Sorry, you got it rolled up. Can you roll it up a little bit or >> cut off? Okay, that's good to know. Okay. Well, Kayen, yeah, he his plan is uh back to Kate. >> Start over again. >> There we go. There's Kaden. >> He's a There he is. Yeah, there he is. Uh it was interesting. He's in cabinet making and we started to do something a little bit different. take a picture of the shop. So, you kind of get both. So, there's a a shop Kaden. He his future plans are to go to Thaddie Stevens Stevens

054for the general contract. So, he wants to do that. And uh I said, you know, what do you like about the CTC? And he just he likes doing things, you know, and you'll find this this theme throughout today here. And uh he just he loves doing that and working with his hands. So, he's doing that and he is going to co-op at Pre at at Premiere in New Holland and that's that'll be coming shortly. And we have Gabe Gabriel and uh uh he's in materials handling and uh and he he loves the standup forklift. I don't know if you guys ever seen the stand up ones where you stand up on them. He loves those things. So, uh, so he's going to keep going there and going probably go to a warehouse. And right now he's going, this guy's busy. He li he delivers for them and he works on the summer at Hershey Park in the

056maintenance and he works 40 hours a week there. Right. And what he likes about CTC is the same thing. He can he can be with one class. He likes uh being hands-on and getting out of, you know, likes to do stuff. So, uh yeah, right now at the warehouse he's working at, he gets $17 an hour. So, he he loves that. And he had his pets. Uh this is the guy that has all the pets. He has four dogs and he has two cats. He has a rat and he has a turtle and two lizards. So So he's doing really good. It was very interesting talk. And when it brought me to when I I bring the pictures over to John, I go to see John and Dmore and he's on a forklift. So I

057said, you know, we gota I got to check out see if he got a certification or not yet. So doing that and that's Gabriel and that should be Noah. Is that on there? >> That's Noah. >> Yeah. No, he's in the HVAC program. And actually Noah Noah likes it, but what he really wants to do is be a real estate agent. So he may he may be seeing him back here at high school. you know, he said he might come back to the back to school and do that, but uh he he really likes CTC for what they offer and it keeps him busy. So, it's actually working good for him, but that's up to him what he wants to do. His hobbies, he likes boxing, sports boxing. I guess there's something called USA boxing.

He's interviewing with CMC Construction and he work he wants to work for Martin uh Water Conditioning. I think that's over Brownstone, I think, over there. One of And what's he like about CTC? 059each All right, Lanster County Academy. Uh we it's been a whirlwind last uh six weeks. Um we're on our way. I really think it's valuable the trans extra transparency that we're trying to have as far as putting out the financial information >> and um, talk about uh, putting the curriculum out. Um, I know that's that's a huge process and that that's in the works, but I think that's going to be really valuable for our families and and residents. So, thank you for doing that. >> I think that's what we're really going for is transparency wherever we can on everything. >> Okay. Thank you everybody.
