046program last Monday it went well with many in attendance as I was told so that was granny Eve for me so I wasn't there December 11th um our sixth grader or just today the sixth graders took the community that care survey questions pertaining to how they feel about school friends community and family so they did get that completed today this uh the 13th of high school a class is going to come and visit with our pre3 and prek4 and have some activities for them they've come over a couple times already and well received and the high school kids have done an awesome job meeting and working with the kids December 14th second grade to the collap community center in Hollywood Legion the 19th will plan some fun activities for the kids kiddos it's going to
047be a pajama day the 20th is our last day of second night the second n weeks it's crazy that we're halfway through uh winter parties and dismiss at 12:30 teachers will return January 3rd the kids will come back on the 4th and on the um January 5th the cosmos fair is coming back for another visit to work with our third and fourth graders uh pertaining to robots and then service projects we PRK through six made door decorations for various assisted livings and nursing homes and those were delivered by last week to Lions Hayes Ellsworth Hoisington great B and Lacrosse they were really cute they did a nice job uh we're currently doing a holiday food drive collecting for a local Pantry um H&B employees will be donating food for 13 of our families in our
048community greatly appreciated and our Junior Senior High students are currently um getting gifts together for 28 of our elementary students pertaining to the giving tree and then our new fifth grade teacher has been attending some robotic trainings in Hayes um going up there on Saturdays and spending her whole day and um she's received a lot of um the product and stuff that we need to start a robotics program so we're wanting to Pilot it with our fifth graders um starting January 10th so we plan to put out a letter to parents to see if they would allow their child to stay with us after school on a Wednesday um every Wednesday because they'll have two events that they'll actually compete in and they'll as well so um we'll find out you know how many are

050our fast Bridge reading assessment for it's taken care of we have 23 boys and 18 girls out for high school basketball 19 boys and 18 girls up the junor high uh there's a winter moratorium December 24th 28th which not practice practice again on the 29th NHS as M mentioned is sponsoring The Giving Tree for elementary students believe students purchase for tomorrow we have a lady from great B I can't tell her name is SK coming over to discuss the you entrepreneurship competition for all of our students they that build a business plan and different activities if they so choose to do that and then we have teachers will to work with those kids if they want to do those things um but that's tomorrow Junior Senior High music program is the 18th in the auditorium
051at 7 o' the first semester to 20th mail grades out of the 3rd of January classes resum 4th we have a FAFSA parent night on January 4th from 6: to 8 uh this year's FAFSA has been LED Back to December usually this released in October it's not going to be released until the end of this month so start filling those out yet made it better so they're going to we're going to see how much better they made it when they release it uh we will have winter royalty on the 12th of January and our Hall of Fame ceremony will be the 2 of February during the half time on the youth entrepreneurship is that through Barton County or through Barton County okay she say present 7 through 12 it's about a 15 to 20 minute
052program she said she'll go through what all the requirements are and then if they want to make stay around and visit with her about okay for Wilson Wilson Elementary uh this past month third fourth and sixth graders attended the Exploration Place uh this past Saturday we had several Wilson Elementary students attend the district elementary choir concert at for State University uh the Wilson k6 winter conert will will be tomorrow at 6:00 some additional information that I have is Caren more our fifth grade teacher has started at math club after school math club for students uh just to help encourage more math participation uh for Christmas of course we have the Festival of trees in the Commons area uh we are going to do some Caroline downtown and also we'll have a Christmas movie at this
053time tomorrow I will have completed evaluations on all staff up there certified staff been really good to get in and and do that to to get into all the classrooms any questions on that okay superintendent uh we have attended to zoom this month on our accreditation ke accreditation uh we will be having a peer review in April and uh the ksde checkin will be on May 2nd we had a good audit on graduation Alliance and lik Side Learning we only had minimal deductions which is really positive after last year there is a request going into the state to see if they will review the audit last year and do the same procedures that they did this year which would recover quite a bit of income if they did uh we did have a wellness meeting
054with KSD this past month the wellness coach uh Andy Griffin uh charge of our nutrition uh worked with that along with one of our Cooks picked up that information uh and I will tell you that as of tonight complet did all of our donations for our tax credits U Farmers Bank gave us the last donation tonight that completed us to the maximum credits that we had plan to have a meeting in January to determine the direction uh within the plans that they submitted the tax credits it was for a daycare center we need to review that I've had conversations with uh Barton County Economic Development Group at advancing daycare depart uh they have it they got grants for two facilities they think with a new cycle for Patterson comes around they can get another Grant
055uh for a DAT Care Center uh we just need to decide what direction we want to take at this time with the PS that we have so uh trying to see if we can't get that started now we've got those funds so that was completely any questions is there a timeline to utilize those funds so we receed through the tax credits not to my knowledge just we had to be they all had to be sold by the separate I'll be working with the Department of Commerce she didn't tell me they're stackable which means you could put more money toward a project and sta that is Grant so we get another whether we do or ABC correct me if I'm wrong too that was um part of Kiza is having like an active PTO or booster
056club or something but was that part of ke said what is that uh site Council yeah um you can have other organizations but a site council is probably what you thinking know think one of the papil need to have some type of an adult organization support this um site Council sometimes is used as a advisory also on different issues and then open Agenda I might be as I said next next mon is organizational so the location times be set January I did also want to go back um just to clarify and mention I know there was [Music] some rightfully so um just consideration after our a it about the activities account and and funds up at Wilson and just to clarify that was dealt with as soon as the administration became aware of the issue
057and the board was aware of it but we cannot discuss any Personnel matters any further in Open Session as far as that goes did not involve all through and that account has been closed just to clarify that so any other items for next month's agenda I know in January a lot of times we do also bring up like board evaluation or superintended evaluation but I know in this case it's since we have a new board member coming off and have just lost a position we're going to kind of put that on the backboard for now question here for the superintendent sege he'll go over the candidates that they have selected I believe right yeah they have they have because the deadline on KB's site is January the 3 and then they'll have a selection committee
058and go over those and then they'll have recommendations at that that we'll set up interview dates that another thing that I had thought of that we haven't done a little while is board goals you guys used to always have board goals and I know we've got some transition going so we may want to get back on track with those in February yeah maybe we'll go in February I have them still on my computer from when you did them with Mr CLA so we can definitely revie those and think about getting back on track up especially and they need a little bit of yes um and just for clarification too uh the principal position that is open until February yes February the first plan would be to through with a committee interview and then also some
