The success of Mount Lebanon School District is built on the dedication, passion, and commitment of the people who show up every day to serve our students. Thank you all for what you do. Your work changes lives and our community is stronger because of it. Earlier this evening in executive session, the board completed the annual evaluation of Dr. Fes. We are proud to share that Dr. FZE received an overall rating of distinguished. This evaluation reflects

her exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment to student success, strategic vision, and dedication to fostering a culture of excellence throughout our district. Under her leadership, Mount Lebanon continues to thrive academically while remaining focused on the well-being and growth of every student and staff member. On behalf of the board, congratulations, Dr. Fes, on a well-earned distinguished evaluation. We also recently celebrated one of our most meaningful milestones of the year as we confer degrees upon 453 graduates from the Mount Lebanon High School class of 2026. Watching our students cross that stage and begin the next chapter of their lives is a reminder of why we do this work. We are incredibly proud of our graduates and grateful to everyone who played a role in supporting their journey. >> [snorts] >> In just a few minutes, the board will vote

to close their final chapter. Tonight also marks the final board meeting for Dr. Davis before his retirement. Dr. Davis, thank you for your years of service, dedication, and commitment to our district and community. Your leadership, partnership, and steady presence have made a lasting impact on Mount Lebanon. On a personal note, I think many of us are looking forward to seeing you in the audience each month and quietly wondering what wisdom or public comment you might bring to the microphone. [laughter] We wish you nothing but happiness, good health, and well-deserved adventures in retirement. And finally, as we head into summer months, I want to wish our students, families, staff, and community a safe, joyful, and relaxing summer vacation. Take time to rest, recharge, make memories, and enjoy the season. Now, tonight we will honor Lisa Schustster

Omali, high school counselor or C high school counseling office secretary. Lisa was nominated by the high school counseling staff for her dedication during significant staffing changes. Stating that Lisa has stepped up in an extraordinary way, ensuring that the office has continued to function at a high standard while taking on the lion share of daily operations. Lisa has been instrumental in coordinating several high priority projects while scheduling meetings for students, training clerical help, answering questions, and supporting our group. Tasks that require immense organization, attention to detail, and consistent communication. Lisa's upbeat personality makes our office a welcoming environment for students, families, and staff. Even during demanding periods, she remains approachable, positive, and upbeat. Thank you, Lisa, for all that you do and the students and staff of Mount Lebanon High School. [applause] I do have something

for you. [laughter] >> [laughter] [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Congratul [applause] And for our inclusivity calendar, June is LGBTQIA+ pride month established to recognize the impact that gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals have had on the world. LGBTQ plus groups organized month-long celebrations including pride parades, picnic parties, memorials for those lost to hate crimes and HIV AIDS and other group gatherings. The last Sunday in June is Gay Pride Day. On June 19th, we will celebrate the federal holiday of Junth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day. This holiday commemorates the day in 1865 when slaves in Texas and Louisiana finally heard they were free two months after the Civil War. June 19th therefore became the day of emancipation for thousands of African-Americans. And on July 4th, 2026, American will celebrate 250 years of independence. That

is all I have to report. >> Okay, great. Well, I have the honor of recognizing our retirees tonight, and it's nice to see all of you in the audience. This evening, we celebrate 17 professionals and 16 support staff employees. Mr. Stangle, are you advancing my slides or do I have a clicker? >> It's on the other side. Oh, sorry. [laughter] >> Would have been good if I actually looked for it. Um, our 33 retirees this year include members of each work group within the district. And this year, the combined years of service of these retirees is 884 years, which is amazing. Um, it's nearly nine centuries of dedication to our school district. That averages out to be about 27 years per person. And many of these careers spanned entire childhoods and multiple generations of families

attending Mount Lebanon School District. I know that for a fact because there's someone in the audience that I gave a tour to perhaps a class of 1970 something and they named somebody that's here being recognized tonight and it made my whole day. >> All right, first up we'll be recognizing Linda Batista. As we do the recognitions, um, I'll read through your bio and then at the end I'll, if you would like to, we would like for you to all come up and for us to give you your certificate and take a picture as well so that we can capture this moment. Linda joined the Mount Lebanon School District at the start of the 2001 2002 school year as a Spanish teacher at the high school and a French teacher at Melon Middle School. Linda predominantly

taught Spanish at Melon Middle School, but was able to fill French teaching assignments during the course of her 25 years with the district. Thank you so much for your service, Linda. >> It's been an honor. >> You'll be missed. Next up, we have Trish Carlson. Trish began working in the Mount Lebanon School District at the start of the 2009 2010 school year as a personal care assistant at Jefferson Elementary School. She then worked as a high school guidance office secretary before taking on the role of elementary school secretary at Foster in 2021 where she remained until her retirement after 16.75 years with the school district. Thank you so much Trish for your service. Trish always has a nice smiling face when we would visit Foster. >> Dr. Ron Davis. Dr. Davis served 19.5 years with

the district. He served as the high school principal for four years before being appointed as the assistant superintendent of secondary education. Ron has been a champion for datadriven instruction and safety and well-being initiatives that have produced positive outcomes for the school community. He has also been a leader for the Middle States accreditation and Title 9 compliance teams as a published author, a local and national speaker, and a mentor to future educators. Dr. Davis, you will be missed. Next up, we have Drew Haberberger. Drew was first a student teacher at Mount Lebanon during the fall of 1988 before eventually returning to Mount Lebanon High School at the start of the 1993 1994 school year. And during his 37 years with the high school science team, Drew has also supported the athletics program as a track and

cross country coach. Congratulations on your retirement. You will be missed. but he told us that he's still gonna coach, which is exciting. [laughter] Can't get rid of us that easily. Next up is Cece Kapran. Cece joined the Mount Lebanon School District in 1972. During her remarkable tenure of 53 years with the district, CC developed the high school's dance curriculum and program, including the installation of the district's dance company, and she choreographed, designed, and arranged countless high school musicals and dance program performances. Her passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to the dance program and our school community have left a lasting impression. Congratulations, Cece. >> Thank you. It's been wonderful. >> Dr. Freeze, I have one thing to add there. Um, on a very personal level, um, in 1968, Cece walked into a college dorm room at Slippery

Rock and she met her new roommate, my mom. [laughter] >> Uh, amazing. [clears throat] >> My mom would have been here if she could. She, as many of the people here know, she uh, passed away just a few weeks ago. >> Uh, but Cece and my mom remained friends all these years. Um she's been a major part of our lives and she's the type of person that everybody in this community can be proud of uh and grateful that they've been able to uh witness your your work, your journey um in your time with us. So thank you. >> Thank you. [snorts] >> Tanya Paul Brundage. Tanya joined the district after years of experience as a production line supervisor and machine operator, becoming part of the custodial staff for 13 years. Tanya brought her skills to

Jefferson Middle School, Lincoln Elementary, and Foster Elementary. Her smiles and can do attitude are already missed at Foster. >> Congratulations. >> Thank you. >> You will be missed, but I know that you also will be visiting us, right? >> Yes. [laughter] Okay. >> [snorts] >> Next up, we have Suzanne Spilsberry. Suzanne joined the district as a substitute health aid, then as a part-time health aid at Foster Elementary. She became a full-time classroom aid at Foster and has supported students at Washington, Jefferson, and Hoover. Suzanne joined the high school main office support team in 2024 as the attendance clerk where the team has appreciated her hard work and steady presence and a very important and busy role. Suzanne retires after 22 years with the district. Congratulations. And that is the end of our retirees that are

Hey, there's no judgment. Believe me.

We want to be able to get a picture with all of you and give you your certificates as well. >> Better. >> Okay. When I call your team, please come up. >> Yeah. I apparently I need tissues. And the board also approved the creation of a new fire

engagement subcommittee to explore ways for residents to connect with and learn more about the fire department and emergency services.
