013quick review we 've been fighting HVAC up there for for a while I do believe that there's been some electricity issues and Wilson uh Power Services going off uh it was shut off again today but we knew we shut everything down before they shut it off and then we turned it back on so they still support them so right now there's two circuits up there four compressors and a coil on each circle one circuit is not functioning due to the hole of the coil you may be getting that fixed but right now the circuit that runs had been running with two out of the four compressors they got a third one running but the freon does not circulate correctly because of the two valves do not release that okay so I have a proposal when
014we place the two valves so that we can run all four compressors on that one circuit that is in here a nice little train I hopefully you can do it as soon as possible the bowels are easy to get they think they can just go get them if it's approving they'll get them it's just in the tank and they had a really good technician the last time up here this makes a difference I'll let you check I get up to work on stuff is that who we've been having yeah it no longer works for them that we've had uh last couple of times and so real pleased with the one at this life because to be honest with you yeah we work between two companies the control company and the company that owns the equipment
015and they always dispute it where the problem is but we do need to try to probably get this going at a better rate because you know we're still in August we're still against 100 degree days coming up and it's been working as good as it has the last two weeks after you've got the third compressor up and running so so and I know you might not even know this because of the timing of it and everything has that valve been broke ever since we got his Wheatus to adjust the freon so those valves open and shuttle that Freon movement in the system and those valves though so the freon does not move from cold apart I can't tell you yeah how long they haven't been punched the new tech Nation figured that out what's that
016it's a new technician figure that out the other ones the other one I had really wasn't good I just he really was you know he'd tell me one thing you could never get anything going this he working on the third one going as is but he also seen his files and to do this he has to capture all the freon fix a valves put the thrill back in and add anything so that's one reason it's a little bit expensive because they do have to capture that Freon and probably add three off back but if they can get it to run correctly it should be okay then we'll look at the next step to get the coil on the other circuit fixed because we could see it now in the coil because it gets oily so

021at the district office because they took the rest of most of it but it went uh very well a few changes we probably want to make but other than that it was good met with the new teachers Jennifer Vandenberg fifth grade and Katie Bell and last Friday I went over some things with them and they've worked in their rooms that day we had our back to school meeting today with Mr Larry and Diane I had my faculty meeting tomorrow with my staff then Wednesday evening the 16th we'll have a title one meeting and then we'll have our meet and greet where families can come in the teachers through the classrooms on the 17th will be our first day with k-6 and then Friday start our Pre-K threes and Pre-K fours Labor Day on the fourth
022and then our on September 6th our fourth grade class we'll start a field trip already lots of great men's AG day any questions our bank statements and uh balance is all matched our gym floors got done uh the director got done a week later because there was a fun thing when they uh in ours it's done now um 17th the first half day for students 18 the first full day online enrollment with like Mrs odor said it went well was asked if I liked it better or what I like seeing the kids and the parents putting faces to names and things like that other than that I thought it went well like this closer said there's a couple things that I missed that we need to add into the into the packet and it went
023really well numbers that I gave you last week have changed a little bit we're down to 140. still level 13 from last year I reported 142 we lost a junior today and a 8th grader Friday so those numbers are down a little bit we're still at uh 90 for the High School junior high we have two students from Wilson that are coming or five new students one seventh grader two ninth graders and two tenth graders two students from Wilson uh eighth grader and a non-graded we lost seven students that moved to different districts we have one student who needs to enroll and he actually contacted me before the meeting tonight so I hope to get him registered ASAP met with coaches and sponsors on 810 and went over cprad training as for patient rules involved
024with the athletic handbook and coaches expectations today is our first day of practice I'll have numbers in the September meeting numbers through the summer look pretty decent uh 15th tomorrow is the fall Sports parent meeting at six followed by the parent orientation 7 22nd we have a volleyball Jamboree in spearville beginning in 6th the 28th we have a football Jamboree at lacrosse at seven uh the 26th we have [Music] volleyball at Ness opportunities all activities will be in full swim on the 28th from tailgate is African Pronto games on September 1st at 5 30 or only first one is the start of the year all right thank you okay I'm gonna give you the Wilson personal report first we continue to enroll students also you have our current numbers we still believe there's a couple
025that will be enrolling so many students haven't done a hundred percent yet but I think they'll get their enrollment uh online enrollment we can see they started they just haven't completed everything so we're working on that uh I was pleased with both online enrollment and online payment once we've kind of got the payments figured out I think convenience for parents not to have to worry about sending cash or checks with students during the school year month you know advantage of them also um we had school startup schedule we I met with the three new teachers last week I had Stephanie stoppel second grade teacher Aaron Milano sixth grade teacher and Karen Moore fifth grade teacher who founded them kind of reviewed some things on the coming year and then we'll meet with the entire staff
026tomorrow afternoon we'll also meet with para Educators before that meeting um we will have music physical education and art for all students and band for fifth and sixth grade school this year will be administrative assistant so they'll already started doing things and we'll continue to do that I appreciate their efforts toward that our parents meet greet will be tomorrow night from 6 30 to 7 30. so we have that going on also my number that I didn't put in there is that our Lakeside learning enrollment is seven it was yesterday it was seven which has been running about seven or so last couple years I hope that might go up eventually to provide students any questions as far as Wilson your superintendent things that I have down generally talk a little bit about online enrollment
027and so forth but I did have received some comments from parents that they enjoyed that when I look at the times when they enrolled because it shows me what time they enrolled a lot of parents must wait till their kids are asleep that's all I want to say they wait till their kids are asleep because to 12 o'clock or kind of a popular time you have completed the budget Review in Topeka we will be publishing the budget and the revenue digital hearing in the paper the revenue neutral rate hearing will be September the 11th at 6 o'clock and the budget hearing September 11th at 6 15. we will continue to continue to work on the AC issues we talked about that earlier when we created Court I didn't have equivalent I was putting this together
028Larry said a good job of helping me go through controls up at Wilson making sure our controls together we have some rooms that run war with some rooms are running cold trying to equalize those out so it's consistent throughout also Larry's helped on the ice machine he's helped acquire bits or ceiling fan have extension cords running to them that we went ahead hired him wire directly so it's not extension cords but false ceiling uh the carpet at fully root and cloughwood buildings have been completed and due to some timing issues we're going to schedule the Wilson carpet to be completed over Christmas break so we clear out that Music Room completely and have about three days to get that crafted and redone We have replaced the new two main water valves in clapwood you have
029continued to find some water leaks both at Hollywood and Wilson Washington roofings go down a lot of times fixing leaks on those two roofs at no cost yeah because they just sealed them over so there's no cost in position to get out um next month we'll have design plans and the QRS or three HVAC projects in platform for questions so they're guaranteeing the roofing and substance they just so they just haven't yes you know they're still covered I mean it's probably things they may have missed the metal roof they're going to find Aerials they seal a little bit okay open Agenda items yeah I had a couple phone calls today about a couple patrons receiving their tax statements from the county and they called it's asked me to ask Mr Lowry the LLP percentage there
030will be supplemental in general all went up around six percent and that has to be for an explanation well I thought it would be much better than that so what everybody had sugar from your county clerk a letter if anybody succeeding Revenue neutral wins okay so we sit in which we talked about this we sit in that to exceed revenue neutral rate the main reason of the advice to do that to have a hearing is that if we don't have a hearing and evaluation that was estimated to me by the county is incorrect the county clerk can only go up to the bill levies better Revenue neutral by having the hearing it gives the county clerk authority to raise that so we sit the estimate July 20th to the county we estimated exceed revenue you
031will publish a little bit lower than that but I anticipate we'll have the hearing and would do that at the board can't choose to stay rather than people I believe that so at the end of the day I believe if I review everything at the revenue neutral Still Loving group it's a strong possibility foreign tax dollars now that being said you always estimate the general Bud's 20 pounds no matter what my general fund is whether it's up six percent it's 20 mils across the board local options taxes but you also got state aid for local option which is good probably allow the board to adopt Revenue neutral which is I don't know I hate I don't know how many District school districts could say that I'm not sure be interested to see but the board
032maybe I'll adopt Revenue ritual so the taxes to stay actually and another thing is evaluation went up if so that bill I can't believe will be more to produce it so now that being said well without isn't at high estimation I'm going to guess everybody government entity indicated to the county clerk they were not going to be Revenue they had to sit down all about it exactly but we haven't had the hearing yet family in place in the paper yet we haven't had the hearing once we have it the paper published kind of limits how high we can go but we can always come down and have the hearing to go down you just can't go up all these processes set limits to sports not bottom side okay that's that's what county clerks that's a
033process but this Revenue control that they had to put that out there such maximum yes and I don't see them I don't see the board adopting that I see us thank you um I had some people ask me to talk about our cell phone policy especially after a great events and kind of reviewed theirs so I just that is our current policy foreign [Applause] from the educational environment will not be allowed in school personal electronic devices will be allowed in the building however they not may not be seen or heard during school hours unless given direct permission by the instructor personal electronic devices will not be seen or heard while in the locker room if the student violates this policy the consequences would be first offense in the office for a period of 24 hours
034they return the student second offense in the office for 24 hours and return to the parent Guardian to the student in the office world with the bias and filler parent Guardian picks up the device three the personal electronic device will be placed in the office for a period of 24 hours and then return to the parent party into the student office will hold the device and tell the parent vote it again picks up the device the student may be given it attention um similar for the fourth I assume maybe given one day of ISS and then for the fifth uh inappropriate use of the electronic device may result in contacting the proper authorities um so I felt like our policy is already not to have cell phones in the classroom um just by made sure
035that everybody is aware of that and it's enforced I didn't know if we needed to change the wording on any of that as far as with the first offense being placed in the office for 24 hours if it should be changed to at the end of the school day or anything like that I know it's also you know cell phones are becoming more and more of a distraction even in the work environment in the hospital you know that I work at has been having to enforce policies not to have your cell phones out and things like that so I thought it was worth worth discussion anybody else have any thoughts we're having problems now it's not zero let's talk about rampant they use more than they should and the hardest part is when a parent
036should say something of a child because the child is sick but we never saw them I know from kids that I've seen over even at their at therapy during the school day and they're getting messages and I'm like your peers should be in school like why are you getting messages why are you having fights about what Spirit day is going to be that way occur yeah whatever it's very classy yeah and I think so my thought was even just to prepare them better for life after school that so we could maybe start curbing the problem in school a little bit before they even get to work for a sports and we're having to tell them to put their phones away some teachers that have asked you know symptoms try to collect them into people they
037go into these walk around asking outside the box I'll say that everyone gets collected so it's not required it's well we're just supposed to be it's supposed to be but you know I'm not gonna go pat down it here to see if he's got his phone for the honor System I I think for me the policy is in place I think most policies Institute of protection of what we needed if it is I'm not a problem I don't think that we should as a board anyway push too hard on it in the administration feel like it is in their buildings the teacher feels like it is in their classroom definitely I don't know if we need to as a board other than just to maybe encourage it if it is a problem I think our
