001foreign thank you okay we will go ahead and call the meeting to order are there any commitments to be made to the amendment okay I would obtain a motion to approve the agenda so moved motion by analysis second by Josh all those in favor say aye aye in the opposed same time and then approval of minutes we have the minutes from the meeting on five eight five sixteen and Five Points any questions comments changes pushing by Allison to click the minutes say goodbye Chad all those in favor say aye aye I'm in the end for the same time Emotion Test report in your package any questions or comments make a motion to approve the treasury report is presented there's a motion by Allison and then second by Josh all those and papers that I I

002in the Oppo at the same time emotion passwords and then invoices anything likewise if you've got any questions regarding any particular items I would entertain a motion to approve the invoices motion by Josh second by Chad all those in favor say aye aye aye note the same sign motion passes and the reconciliation the cash summary was in your report packet and the ending cash balance matched the treasury report which matches the bank statement s so we are right outside while Diane's getting the list at this time we will do public forum and recognize the visitors I just want to take the chance to remind everybody that this isn't a back and forth discussion between the board but it is a good time for any Patron steak brushes that are thoughts or concerns and each speaker

003then speak no longer than five minutes would like to okay do you want to conceive your time just let us know and first up we have Kyler now okay Tyler is going to concede his time the before you leave them do you want the microwave no I won't need the bike I think it's pretty loud in here and we'll be able to do it uh hello everyone my name is Corey label uh I was born and raised in Claflin for everyone on the live stream uh uh currently on the city council very involved in the community Fire EMS I am here my roots are with Central Plains High School and grade school now I was not going to talk today actually until Friday when I got on a Great Bend post and listened to the

004forever forward ever podcast with old Roberta Meyer and Kayla Collins now at least this time Roberta had the decency to say that she cannot vote on this issue and that she does not live here I can count at least three or four articles where she has lied to the media and says yes I am voting yes yes yes now 20-minute podcast I learned nothing absolutely nothing from this discussion what will happen I don't know will the state do anything probably they're going to split up you know South District at least but we might be okay up here a state mandated consolidation happened 60 years ago and that is what has led us to this position and people think another one is going to solve all our problems it it is just passing on in my

005opinion but we're going to go ahead and start April 2022 the first vote happens five to two to close Wilson High School it has been 14 months 14. this is way past the year and in that time you know I know Natoma voted no February 2023 we'll throw them out they talked with Chase we're going to throw them out too because of State funding and their low enrollment they could not take the kids on because they would lose their special funding now we moved to Sylvan and this was happening in August and by all accounts from the articles that I had seen in the Wilson reporter The Independent reporter everything was going good one quote that came out of that was the Wilson community members in attendance at Wilson's meet at Wednesday's meeting said that

006they would obviously love to keep the high school open in Wilson but they understand they are not in a position to bargain and it is just not feasible going forward because of enrollment finances and the decisions from the state so everything I've seen online and Facebook has become accessible I have seen a lot of Wilson posts and I believe this is what happened with that petition too save our schools save our schools this petition is going to save both schools they knew in August that the high school was going to be closed it had been on the agenda it had been closed it had happened now we move into September and Sylvan takes the vote it is 3-3 with the vice president abstaining so it does not pass they had all the information I Roger

007I'm not going to put John spot but I I seen your name on that article quite a bit as a current board member and the shell brokerage as a former board member has all this information this is all published and what they had the exact same thing we are giving them K through six stays open in Wilson 7 through 12 is closed and they did a poll with what kids they thought would come and at that time the Wilson Elementary said 69 kids would come 13 were undecided one no the junior junior senior high 53 would attend 15 were undecided and one would not attend so this has been on the table this is not just something that has popped up on the Wilson doran's Community they have known about this for 14 months and

008a quote that it's kind of shocking when you go back and you actually look through all the old uh articles of when this was going on this one is from kylo Heller Kyle Heller board member at Sylvan and this was if they want to have a seven on seven meeting with the Sylvan board and this board and this is what he said I know it might flesh out some details but I just can't get past the big picture where I hang up is operating at third Attendance Center when you look at it in a vacuum and asks does this make sense for a district of what would be our size I'm not sure it does Heller said he looked at the other districts with it with about 800 square miles there are five in total

009none of them are operating in three towns one is operating in Two Towns the others are operating in one town I can only deduce that it's effective that's why they do it and I feel like if they if we would go forward and do this we wouldn't get very far down the line a few years down the line we would need to close one of these buildings and that brings you back to board control so where we go from there I can tell you and I've seen it online again there is no big conspiracy for central plains to keep the Wilson land transferring from happen I know all Ford members here are very in favor of a land transfer I believe it is and I have been very vocal about this it is what needs

010to happen I don't believe we can continue the land transfer is the way to go now saying that this petition took any any idea of a willing participant in a land transfer it took a blow torch to it no district is going to be willing to touch the Wilson area with this petition it is just not going to happen so I got four options that I think we are at at this point in option one yes vote passes that is it sunshine and rainbows it's this is just directed to Wilson endurance because I am not living in la la land if this passes I know this building and I know the elementary school and hollyrooter as good as close they will be done so the sunshine and Roses yes Wilson come on in if we

011know we wouldn't take you willingly but a state mandated consolidation come on in and you know what that high school that's been closed for a year we're going to restaff it we're going to open it back up everything's going to be great you know your taxes are going to go up because your middle levies are going to change but you know that's fine now option two another yes vote no district will keep that building open besides us Russell 23 miles away having very very difficult issues ever passing a bond already operating four schools in that town no Sylvan Lucas turned it down operating in Sylvan Lucas board member already said it is not feasible to operate a third building in a third town okay Ellis worth wouldn't even vote on the issue they have three

012schools two in Ellsworth one in Kanopolis will not operate a fourth building it it just amazes me if we have gotten to this position and I really hope people realize what this is because this is happening whether people like it or not it is on the table it is no longer hot this is funny what's gonna happen we will vote on this this has the potential to destroy all three schools and I hope everybody does their homework I really do I really hope it's not just fight and hahaha you gotta get back at Claflin classic Patrol board this is a no vote is your only way to keep a school in Wilson at this point as I see it and I think I'm good enough but thank you for your time okay next we have

013JD Johnson I'll be I'll be a little quicker than that um for everyone who doesn't know my name is JD Johnson um I'm a real estate agent I've been a real estate agent for a little over 11 years now I had my license in Wichita for about four years and I've had my license since seven plus years in the Salina area since um so I got a little bit of knowledge a little bit uh about the real estate markets and the surrounding areas I've sold in eastern Kansas Western Kansas quite a bit in Central Kansas um so I know with the yes and Noble I know there's very many conflicting opinions and quite a few facts that have been placed about the yes versus quinoa vote um but I know that one thing both sides

014can agree upon is I know we love the what our current property values are right now the last couple years our property values in the area have are higher than they've ever been okay it's it's a great thing it's a great thing to see your home and your property being worth top dollar especially if you're you know the Ambassador looking to buy or sell or anything but um so yeah but with this boat coming in August 1st all of that could very well be put in jeopardy um I I think you all kind of know where I'm going with this um with the yes vote okay there is extremely extremely high probability that all three schools will be closed if not an assurance that all three buildings will be closed which means all the local

015communities Hollywood Wilson Hollywood and even the smaller surrounding communities that are you know five to seven miles away pushed and even will further Lorraine okay you're losing that schools you have no school which I think everyone knows is kind of a lifeblood of your community okay with that with the closing of those three buildings that'd be 107 teachers and staff would be losing their jobs okay nothing okay then that would mean well over 350 students total K through 12. okay would be assigned by the state to neighboring districts some of those students and parents might not want to go to those districts and I know there's the argument well with the Open Enrollment we can go to the other one any school we want that's obviously a myth okay well I mean if capacity is

016reached that might not be the case okay that's a whole nother story not a whole nother issue I'm not going to touch it um with this at the closing of all three buildings we would see a mass Exodus of families people would be leaving the communities they'd be in search obviously teachers be in search for different jobs okay that they would be searching for different jobs through in different communities also parents and students would be going to a district or a school that they would want to go to not where they're told to by the states okay with all these closures okay so now with all these families that have left and all these vacant homes who's going to fill these homes okay all of these communities Wilson Clapham Hollywood Bush Lorraine et cetera all

017these communities okay would now be a little less attractive to families with children moving into them okay I think we cannot kind of all agree on that so what's going to happen with these vacant homes do they remain vacant okay do they turn into rentals okay whatever they turn in I mean most likely okay all of these would you would see the values of these homes in the communities drop drastic okay um and the residents who chose to stay okay you would see a massive massive drop and the value of your beloved homes and the impacts would be Swift and extremely damaging year after year after year okay and obviously with the no vote okay there's a 100 chance all three schools okay remain open and continuing functioning uh communities will remain alive businesses will

018continue to flourish and home values will continue to mimic okay the current market okay and just more facts real quick two clients that I've spoken with up north throughout eastern part of this district and one in the southern okay have contacted me about listing their homes if a yes vote does come to be and they hope to be they hope to sell and move okay before this real estate backlash actually hits and it actually hits their home values okay this is a real issue and it's it's coming foreign ER okay Taylor beaverly you guys don't already know me my name is Taylor Bieber I'm doing this mostly just because I'm a very concerned Patron that's absolutely wanting to be involved in both my kids can be involved in USD 112. Central Plains obviously being a

019concerned patient regarding this dissolution I do add two boys ages two and three who I would want nothing more than to be a central plains oil it's without a doubt in my mind in my opinion that Central Plains gives my kids and other kids the best educational opportunity along with a safe healthy environment and provides them with key exposures to core impactful values that children in rural education systems are so lucky to experience and have the rare ability to root and grow endlessly with the yes vote I believe this threatens and could very likely destroy a school district that has proven year after year to graduate kind dedicated successful students and human beings dissolving a district that consistently develops this type of product year after year would be a travesty to a world in desperate

020need of these human qualities not to mention Central Plains would dissolve as a thriving District and that thought alone should be extremely scary for Rural Americans I want to say I wouldn't wish this situation upon anybody in our history school closures have already happened between Hollywood Bushton Claflin and other small surrounding areas that ultimately led to the consolidation and formation of central plains this certainly was a tumultuous time for all communities involved so we can sympathize with Wilson in the closure of their Junior and Senior High School unfortunately nothing is guaranteed in a public and Rural education system and has been this way for many many years small communities inevitably get older with without any youth movement to repopulate year after year decline in enrollment occurs graduation graduating graduating classes become smaller and smaller teacher-to-student

021ratios are not financially feasible to sustain and districts are forced to make difficult cuts to salary or staff the unfortunate outlook for these schools is never if but when an important fact to understand for example back when Claflin Elementary lost over 50 percent of their student enrollment over a 10-year period that building was shut down Wilson High School from 2012 to 2023 has also lost over 50 percent of their student enrollment while other buildings Central Plains Elementary School in Hollywood in Central Plains Junior Senior High in Cloudland have had a steady enrollment or gained students this is for this source for data is from the ksde official enrollment reports Wilson Elementary numbers have demonstrated steady population year after year and thus it should be in the district's best interest to keep this open for years

022to come if that drink continues fortunately this would leave current communities the heavy school with some chance to flourish and the ability to demonstrate resilience in the communities we know and love a no vote guarantees the opportunity to maintain some Community normalcy without massive fragmentation of students and families at the decision of government mandates and yes vote could decimate communities within USD 112. it is not outrageous theory that economic collapse of every Community within usd-112 may occur over the next several years as families move to bigger districts and perhaps even out of state for more stable opportunities so it's Paramount that USD 112 survived this organization with a no vote to maintain the survival of this small community way of life by pressing this nuclear yes button by doing this is exactly what it means

023this is not a reorganizing effort by any way of the petition by Wilson and the yes supporting veterans this is and following or nothing measured UFC 112 will be broken up and divided and given to other districts the tax dollars will follow your children in USD 112 or in some other District but I I guarantee you a yes vote does not keep tax dollars flowing throughout Wilson's community and I think the Wilson faithful should ensure that the economic sustainability of their community and there's a possibility for future growth within that Community a yes vote could mean the demise of Wilson as well as all other communities within USD 112 and that should be a very frightening scenario for everyone involved I think there were a few people that came in after we started if there's

024anything else wanting to sign up this week I'd like to say one thing we went to the main building you know don't say nothing and even on me we had the first objective still listen as the meeting would come here at the administration no not here she'll have some kind of notice put down on there about communities moving on to Wilson transportation been discussed and brought up that so that we should change from Paid parents to drive students in from two and a half miles away from the Attendance Center paying them to drive in or providing the bus currently pay this past year 11th parents Drive-In two of which were staff members that lived out of History that I'll be driving so we have about nine and I know of right now that at least

025they're two and a half miles possibly a way after I just needed the way I understand in the consolidation there was a debate over paying mileage or bus and also my understanding that Central complaints chose busty that those that chose to pay parents so what you need to know if we need to look into the survey at least those nine parents to see if they would rather have a bus whether they'd get paid for regular students so I'd like to at least great if you can add it that's that's a change if you want to pursue or at least investigate is there a reason we know is that the board decision I guess say that again please it's been past practice to pay that 50 that 37 cents a mile we don't we don't ever

026pay the state rate the only time we do is for staff travel like to a conference or something but since it's ongoing we've always just paid 37 so that can be changed sure I'll just tell you what it is but I'll just say that's what it is when I can start this that's what I was told yeah that's prepared I talked to a couple parents and they'd like to see the survey to see if there's a they feel they would parents I talked to would like to be picked up at home around two and a half miles from here but I didn't talk to nine parents I just talked to two two six is there a reason we wouldn't survey all the parents that are that we know or not I think it's more important

027to the people that actually we get the service I got up two and a half miles I'm just wondering if there's more if we just aren't submitting the violence I I don't know I don't know the answer is I know right now we take a Transportation doors to Wilson so a lot of those kids probably get to get on there indoors right over that's kind of like what we do here yes we pick up pick up at certain locations if you're out of town neither you're driving to the school or you drive them to the bus maybe we get waited on Transportation of students that are two and a half miles away from the tennis centers Okay so wherever you're where a student goes to school they're two and a half miles away they get

028waited for transportation even if they live in a community but they're in Tennessee There's a different Community they're still waiting for transportation waiting for finance excuse me do you have much for everybody up there we can't hear you back here no we just have one it's something everybody that can speak up so that's you know that's really what I want to know and I have a survey if the board wants to have I don't I want to survey those people there too might find other people two and a half we couldn't survey them I just don't think we need that survey those people that really that applied by iTunes yeah accrual students probably for preschool Sixth and look at any other thing it's indicated entertainments well depending on the outcome if we do survey which

029I think we should is it no vote I know bro they don't want Transportation they want to continue to get paid I'd like to pay the state right and we can put that on the agenda probably folks that's not a lot of problem yeah yeah one family wants to have the bus come to their into their house and pick them up no you didn't no you have to do what the majority whatever the majority was sure but if if you don't pick them up with it then I'd like to pay the state right yes yes certainly would be good to do for those that it applies to if you need emotion or his consensus I'll go ahead and survey okay then approval of a beef donation is That Emotion by Josh and it's second by

030Chad all those in favor say aye on any of those same signs thank you very much for that donation and then on to the handbooks okay yeah you can and that donation was made by the airport then we have handbooks attached to our agendas for the faculty for the elementary school that High School and an activity in Tampa but the activity of Sam but that's a new handbook the other three have just been revised and updated there is a couple the high schools one there is a couple red changes there for those changes one is ineligible students right at the school bus for an activity that's been indicated that would change foreign will all of our coaches have to be this and sign that they have read it for I know that you see practice

031for students with the handbooks too that they would sign that they had the the handbook I believe it'll be handled just like probably staff each staff member will be given that handbook assume that they will at least indicate that they have read it as far as the Student Union books I know in years past you those used to be part of like their agenda that they would carry around is that it's not because it's an extra three dollars per agenda that had the handbook that was about doubles the price of these Jesus put the student into it on the website and on the enrollment form it says that we have read the handbook and they have to answer that yes or no before they go on to the next page be on the website thank

032you does anyone have any further questions or comments regarding the handbooks there's a motion by Chad or approval of the handbooks as presented in a second by Josh any further questions discussions during that all those Maneuvers say I I I'll go suppose same sign the motion passes okay student B itch recommending no increase in any of the student fees for just this I mean it's clear safe as they were at this current class of the year I would entertain a motion to approve the student fees as presented but it's 23 24 school year Emotion by Allison second by Chad any further questions comments hearing that all those in favor say aye aye any of those same time emotion passes and the district and insurance see the quote from EMC insurance for them it's property general

033liability linebacker which is liability Cyber Solutions which is a cyber insurance crime insurance Inland Marine that's equipped they have on site autos and then the umbrella it's a very large increase of 43 000 from last year about a 27 increase you look at the value of our buildings due to the when it costs for materials to rebuild they've increased our coverage 10 million dollars we have 10 million dollars or more coverage because of the cost of rebuilding because that 10 million dollar increase almost all of it is property insurance is going up about 42 043 is property insurance so and I will tell you very few I don't even know of another company in the state of Kansas will ensure school property and I still in business are there any questions regarding our insurance foreign

034one I would entertain a motion to approve the EMC quote okay motion by Josh second by Allison all those members that act I have any opposed same sign emotional passes six years and they get ASB workers compensation okay this premium has went up about 8 252 from last year basically because of our modification factor which basically is from usage you need to keep your modification under one but if your usage goes up it gets over one and it gets very expensive I will tell you when we look back prior to changing the ksap I think we're still not 10 or 15 000 cheaper than were three years ago even with this eight thousand dollar increase we're still cheaper than this before about three or four years ago so again if you're not your bond Factor

035goes down here your premium will go down next year also and I just might add that uh I have to fill out a document for an estimate of payroll so this coming up school year you know how to estimate what the payroll is going to be if you look at your sheet they divide out the drivers professional clerical all the others so I did that as closely as I could so our in our wages did go down but the mod Factor went up so that's what caused that change and they go back three years so next year we're going to have this one year like drop off which is a higher rate so then we should see a decrease for next year it's just how work the insurance works every time I was going to

036ask that what the cycle was we're going to drop something any other questions a big abortion to look through the Workers Compensation Insurance or no internal KSP for the 2023-2024 school year okay some motion by Allison and his second by Josh all those in favor say aye um any of them at the same time motion passes six zero if the district Auditors engagement letter Adam Brown LLC engagement letter usually you do a three-year contract this is just for one year at this time with them Megan wilbrock will be the auditor for us this coming year uh the fee is the same as last year so the engagement letter is just for one year at this time um the second by Allison any further discussions or questions okay hearing none all those in favor say aye

037aye maybe if not the same time motion passes sits here then the Education First contract salty contract for Education First we sent it there renewable is coming here are there any questions or discussions okay hearing none I would approve I would move to approve the Education First contract for the 23-24 school year there's a motion on the table and the second by Allison hearing no further discussion all those in favor say aye um any opposed same time emotion passes stick through okay the softball and baseball Co-op program Boise did approved uh two-year almost every time this two-year extension of baseball softball they improved that might be uh so put it on here so that if this board approves it would do the paperwork and get a good education okay there is an emotion by Josh

038to approve and a second by Allison any further questions comments hearing none all those in favor say aye on any of those same sign motion passes six zero and then there is a calendar change for the next full year due to a activity in October parent teachers they'll be changed to the following Monday so that's the only change that we thought that needed to be put into the school calendar so that'll be posted it's correct I would move to through the amended 2324 school calendar there's a second by Allison any questions okay all those in favor say I I need to go the same time social status and setting an end of the year meeting suggested June 28th morning maybe the board traditionally I see that's been a 40 meeting number four if you want

0397 or 7 30. 28. that's okay Tuesday we are at the budget Workshop that's the reason that would give us a couple more days to be ready for the end of the year you know with transfers yeah could go away or not that whole week okay if anybody else can sit as well yeah we could certainly set that up you see it's the triple the time okay for 17 minutes 7 30. yep we'll just do consensus screen Josh okay uh Mr President I moved at the board going in an executive session to pursue that to the Kansas open meeting act to discuss non-elected Personnel for the topic of supplemental positions certified staff and classified staff to protect the privacy of individuals who could be discussed with Mr Larry and Mr Sherman present and return to

040open session in this room Matt 705. what's that 705 15 minutes probably not so you will go longer yeah 45. 7 15. that word potion in a second all those in favor say aye aye any of those things oh thank you yes yes they are getting yourself yes yes foreign oh of course okay we are back in an open session I want to make a motion to improve the certified place as presented okay sure so the motion from Allison and the second from Josh okay she made a motion to approve the certified staff list as presented okay all the team favors that I I have any of her the same time emotion passes six zero I moved to approve to hire Sky demo as a preschool paraprofessional at Wilson Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school

041year okay I also made a motion to hire Sky Daniel as a preschool for paraprofessional Winston Elementary School next school year and seconded by Josh all those in favorites that I I like any of those same side motion passes six zero and move to approve the classified staff for the 2020 24 school year as presented okay Allison made a motion to approve the classified staff for the 2023-2024 school year as presented I've been seconded by Josh all those in favor say aye aye any of those same sign motion passes 6-0 I moved to approve Melissa Watson his high school cheerleading sponsor and Katie Bella as a junior high assistant voice basketball coach for the 2023 and 2024 school year there was a motion from Allison to approve Melissa Watson as that is for children sponsoring

042Kitty Bella as the Junior High Assistant boys basketball coach for the next school year which means 3 23 report and then seconded by Josh all those in favor say aye in the oppose same side emotion passes six years and I would move to approve Michael Ryan and Dan Robinson for summer waits for the 2023 Summers so the motion by Allison to approve Michael Ryan and Dustin Robinson for summer waits for the 2023 summer and is second by Josh all those in favor say aye honest any opposed same time emotion passes stick zero on to administrative reports our reconciliation board match the bank statement we have two students that qualify for state track Lauren ozier was Fifth and Javelin Blaine hickle was fifth in the 200 and just misqualifying in the 100 meter got 24 students

043in driver's education class is finished and we will finish up driving later this month Kim floors here at Central Plains High School and then the Clifton wreck are scheduled for refinishing uh first week of August building and Technology maintenance is underway as you've seen in the library summer leagues volleyball and basketball are underway and Miss Hozier and tech people and I have been working on enrollment through online enrollment and we'll send that information out July we'll be open July 24th they close on August 4th and help will be available at each school on August 2nd thank you superintendent report still continue to work on answer three especially on the 20 percent required funding for loss of learning what was approved in the plan was for one program and there's about thirty thousand dollars is not

044committed in that loss of learning so we continue to look at curriculum interventions for students because it has to be a An approved research strategy that we use for that so still working at different uh resources for our students they call a lot because of loss of learning for sr3 okay and so then we also continue to work on the HVAC the desert 3 also Senate Bill 113 uh the governor line item vetoed the funding mechanism for our budget we went to two years prior previous enrollment so we will be funded this coming year based on probably this year's enrollment also I can review the petition to disorganize again that's in there it's the exact what the ballot question is going to be and the pulling places that you have to be registered I just

045thought I'd break down one more time to the board I have met at Hollywood at the legion they asked me to come over and talk any any community group that would like to ask questions can the State Board of Education and the department of Ed we'll be scheduling Community meetings probably three of those probably at Claflin Hollywood and Wilson to provide information on the boat August 1st okay uh as soon as they get that scheduled we will get that set up and set out the date and place probably all be in one day so we'll probably move one to the other and then one day as Mr Holmes mentioned we are continue to prepare for online enrollment and online payment that should be in place and we'll get that out uh first of July we

046also preparing needs assessment test scores again for the budget process something new last year of course state by state statute that we review these assessment and test scores with the board prior during the budget hearing or prior to pleasure hearings the air conditioning Wilson went down and that's been fixed my train had to come in and redo that we haven't determined if it was we had a power surge not sure if that had anything to do with it but they've been able to repair it I did check on insurance but we have a ten thousand dollar deductible that's not going to be ten thousand dollars so um that's been prepared um I attended and presented at the USA which is United school administrators conferences about two weeks ago uh I presented on daycare Solutions in

047schools uh something I did previously too at the kasb conference so I did that I also included a document for you guys to review for clay target League that was asked to be uh last meeting so there is a document in there about clay target League and review it comes to the ksce meetings and the state school board meetings if more than four of us attend probably call special board meeting they would be really I would have to do the waiver yeah there's more than there's four I don't have to say that's a problem yeah well we'll be able to do it while you're prefer space before being I mean if you want to attend all three that's okay too bad things because there won't be any actions just influence right who all is kind

048of council I'm going to assume there will be some attorneys will be with them because that's what they've talked about a little bit so where are we going to release information about those payments well we'll probably try to get it a couple ways you know our website and also our communication just within the school district to sell you know all the parents uh I think could we use the uh like the phone calls the text messages that just goes to parents and staff now that is a go to community degree music yeah I mean we'll have to rely a little bit on Facebook and web page to announce that hopefully we get it out to the right groups I don't know if we have enough time we can give it paper around the radio also

049okay any sources that we can communicate to all patrons hopefully they have that by the end of this week or the first of next week and they're looking I believe it's a lot for that um did you have any updates or anything on the child care Advisory Group we have a kind of waiting to see uh you should have Grant information that we applied for should be here in the next two weeks at that point it will probably start doing something I haven't got everybody's names I think I've got history I go back to the device but I figure I've had three names given to you for daycare advisory groups and when I think I gave you some but I asked if I needed to reach out or not I don't remember do I need

050to reach out to yeah very good to reach out to them and make sure they want to do that okay and make sure nobody else is contacted him because they may have already been contacting okay persons okay the same question did anybody have any questions or anything over the the clay target or any other information about that any board member reports on to open Agenda items I did kind of want to just take the time to briefly review some foreign policies and other reminders for good boardsmanship bus just a reminder with only a few exceptions based on leadership roles board members only hold power to act when sitting and acting as a board or when specifically directed by the school board to carry out attacks a single board member acting independently has no greater access

051to school records School staff work District facilities and no good earthworming and share messages on behalf behalf of the board that any regular person the board directs the superintendent to act as the board wishes and direct the superintendent to implement and carry out the schedules on to be had with the staff in order to complete these actions discussions are to be had and for the chain of command in other words building policies for signing in and out of the building when visiting you need to be followed by all board members and it is against border policy KBC to allow media to cover events or allow them on school property without first getting the approval of the appropriate building participation it is also against policies to allow media to conduct energy interviews and conferences without first

052getting the approval from the building principle and permission from the student's parent or learning and just also a few reminders because it's been a while for a few of us fundamentals for being effective board members we each discussed during our new board member training to be effective leading the value support and advocate for public education you need to respect the differences of perspective and style on the board and among staff students parents and community we also need to keep confidential information and confidential such as information discussed during executive session I mean to understand the goal and understand that Authority rests with the board as a whole there are seven members on the board no one of us has the authority direct district superintendent Administration or staff aligned there has to be a majority vote for

053any official action spell like that maybe needed to be reviewed a little bit for each of us or any other open Agenda items what's the grant that daycare that big probably the next two weeks that Grant should be attached there are additional take care of grants available different patterns of the Family Foundation whereas at Patterson Family Foundation on that cover all of Kansas City Missouri yeah it's Tuesday all of them that are considered rural enough right like aren't there yeah they're they're more rural than they are so there's like a rural Focus Ed I know I just had to explain that the ingredients and the foundation to somebody so it's like where's the vendors it's pretty good are there any other items or discussion points of anybody items for next month uh we'll be doing

054a reorganization in July that'll be on that one also uh starting the fiscal year positive personnel to like I think you'll have them surveys back I hope to I'll have to do this if I could identify those people that are two and a half miles out I would Entertainer emotion that out second by Josh all those in favor say aye before the same time thank you everybody for coming foreign
