001foreign few changes to the agenda deleted fundraiser is asked to be deleted and then we had we wanted to add donation requests to the agenda hello to approved a motion to accept that the difference motion by Josh second by Allison all those in favor say aye all right any opposed same side motion passes and then the approval of the minutes from the meetings on day 13 and 3027. regular meeting and the special community is there any [Music] comments or changes any questions okay there's a motion to approve those from Josh second the second one from Brad all those in favor say aye oppose the same side motion passes seven zero and treasurer's report Mission and Brad to approve second from Chad all those in favor say aye all right in the opposed same size the

002motion passes seven years and several invoices sir any questions or any comments on any of those and if we approve as presented all those in favor say aye any opposed same time deposit seven zero and Reconciliation and cash balance report the cash summary report uh got to solved with the famous Intervention which reconciled with the church report so we are matched thank you and hello okay yeah yeah okay all right um I am well Sir Jeff Andrew is the superintendent Catholic schools for this line at one to be here tonight but he unfortunately is in Dallas right now so my name is Aaron the level uh I mean I work girls I work as a teacher of Wilson um and after representing kind of the effort to get the Catholic junior high high school a

003little bit um and so I know that you guys have all been since the uh the winner of the draft sent um and so a couple of thoughts for a couple requests I guess um first shot something I just put forward that would be kind of an ideal would be if we could have a year extension on the wife of the public Junior Senior High School to help get things in place for the Catholic School um but so that is one thing for you guys to consider but also regardless of whether or not you want to do that um we would like to lease the building and to share with you guys to use the Junior High High School side and so kind of our ideal would be to um as a part of the

004least to split the costs on utilities on basic repairs on you know the the staff that we come into the buildings like janitors cooks and so that's kind of our proposal or idea for you guys and so I hope that you can um consider that tonight and yep and I'm also here if you have any questions and I'll I'll do my best thank you and then moving on to the one day senior trips so you have both Central Plains High School and Wilson High School senior trip agendas present uh Wilson was going to come down tonight but they were unable to do to track practice so there won't be a presentation it'll just be the two uh agendas itineraries that they attached for their one day senior trips um boat trips [Music] a second from

005Chad are there any further portions any discussion during this or I guess I have a question do both of the classes do they pay for I think last year the classes paid for the bus drivers I just let him know how much the salary oh I don't know I'm not part of the senior classic yeah they're only in the senior class for Transit but we bought this motion was provides all those in favor say all right and you opposed same sign motion passes 7-0 ksb policy updates the Bissell service the second read action taken by the board divided into two groups one group of revisions and then the last one is the galatian call it let the board uh determine whether or what to delete that so I'm going to start with the representative provisions

006the first one I recommend is Gab compliance of discrimination uh this policy was revised and updated to clarify the process to utilized by staff's complaints of certain types of discrimination not based on sex or student nutrition programs again that is recommended and already complete wording for this tracking I also recommend gcrf non-school employment this policy is revised to add Clarity to with classified employees maybe Granite leave or non-school employment the next revision I'm recommending is idab support programs this is provisions of this policy regarding Dropout prevention and homebound instruction there were revised from clarification and ease of use uh the new policy IFA classroom displays I recommend that we adopt the new policy as policies recommended to provide Clarity and guidance to staff regarding appropriate classroom displays recommend JBE truancy uh this probation this policy

007recording application of currency law for exceptional children when modified to reflect the statutory interpretation that exceptional children can still be reported as true even though they are excluded for compulsory attendance law requirements applicable to the general education students also recommend jce complaints of discrimination for students same as the previous one for adults again this policy was revised by complaint procedures to be utilized by students with a complaint of certain types of discrimination not including sex-based discrimination or discrimination that District nutrition programs also recommending jbd suspension expulsive procedures the provision of this policy regarding appeal hearings was revised reflect the statutory language more clearly specifically than a student discipline appeal hearing must be held within 20 days of the receipt of a notice of an appeal another revision recommend is K-9 plates basically this policy was

008provided to clearly outlined the proper complaint procedures for General complaints excluded at the prior two ones on planes those are the revisions recommended for changes of policy any questions on any of those then the last one that led family night will be left after the board if there's probably a separate motion if you want to delete it for no action if you don't want to delete it if that is the policy that if you deleted removes uh activities right now activities on Wednesday night Sunday or under work policy different criteria if that's removed that kind of opens more flexibility per ksab okay so basically we need one notion for all of the ones that were updated with another emotion whether you decide to keep this possibly important well that's right you have don't have to

009have action but if you believe it it's going to have to have a separate motion thank you and I'm showing that it was approved in 2015. that's right yes okay yeah we included that one that we have currently in our handbook okay yeah this is exactly how this is going to happen right now so did we not have it at all before that or just different wording it might have been nope this never was updated no I think that's that's probably the first one they put in there yeah oh I'll make a motion to approve the policy revisions second by Josh any further discussion regarding the policies as presented okay all those in favor say aye any of her the same sign and then is there any further discussion about the family night personal opinion

010is that I think it needs to stay it doesn't completely restricted it just gives the superintendent the ability to say at least we can help and get a report you should get a report of said Wednesday or Sunday activities for policy I agree with Brad I think I think it's good to have a little bit of restriction so we could just put five consensus the board agreed to keep policy LED yeah okay item number 10 summer school um do you have I attend this for summer school both at Wilson Elementary and Central Plains Elementary still some of the planning still in the process of Wilson but uh teachers salary and pair of salary and do the same throughout and it'll be with this or funds loss of learning a master 3 plan so one of

011those Summer Schools will be through lesser three thank you there's everything pretty much like we've had in the past yeah about two weeks is the answer for the reason why they're gonna run out sometimes they're going to be an extra four or no doubt class or three and that's that is done we had until September of 2024 to have everything spent we don't want that we rely on these monies now and when they're gone then we'll have to pick up someplace else and it's true yeah but you have the pass and probably should have risk all those ones are right now through the generally supplemental so it all flows through General supplemental to us bitten average dollars and I would assume that summer school is always going to be funded throughout Crystal dollars Jayden how

012many kids did we have last year and it varies there's conflicts in the summertime and we utilize our this summer lunch program you know you know if they leave they don't take much with them yeah it's only a half a day on my coach of the personal summer school at Central Farms Elementary and Wilson Elementary closure for 2023 okay there's a motion by Chad and a second by Josh any further discussions all those observers say aye aye same sign I'm hearing none motion passes 7-0 and the bus bids um so last moment we had that and I reported back with the uh the bus just the bus report which also tonight in your package if you have the monthly spreadsheet that's in there to review also uh I think things to look at is the

013manufacture date is the end of the year at the end of life on it not the year you'll notice almost all of them manufacturer date is older than the year on the title by one or two years like the one we're looking at my title is 1999 manufactured in 1998 into life is December of 23 which is next year we can well they'll put it out on router let me use it at all question was asked the need I would recommend that we have two buses keep two buses at Wilson both field trips or any other Elementary needs along with any if we continue to run the route we have a route that we've read or we read the route to clap with for 712 and also you know also need to spare just in

014case when you have one bus also the two buses will provide evacuation for students in an emergency and Central Plains we keep spares at both locations for that purpose also during that that location we can gravity people must have trouble during routes and so forth you have a bus that after further review I don't know but it's costing us so much to keep to be honest with you because of that motor that's in it but might consider eliminating that bus you do have two buses it came by way of had a tornado destroying four buses you picked up two buses that's what you have there on bus at 19 and 18. uh we have a situation which there's no dedicated activity buses in this District so all your yellow buses on routes have to be

015in that shape to run activities when you run activities usually the better route buses come off and that spare buses go into the routes and so I don't know as a certain level of having at least enough of your Fleet that you don't get caught and I will tell you right now we're doing one route with two small vehicles through the bus drivers we could have a little bus driver to put her out but we have two small vehicles to do it now because we don't have another bus driver to run the proud and if we did that then put a little bit more pressure on our Fleet also so and I'll build any questions that you may have thought I might know I was asked my lease purchase down the road on this program

016it's not affected because we have to purchase it to get the 25 grant but I was asked about lease purchase on buses you know you have options on buses these purchases uh you pay three to five years you're paying depreciation fee and then in three years you give it up and start all over with another new bus it does keep you baby for repair costs uh but that is what people go three to five years on these purchases of buses also and there are some schools that actually have transportation companies provide all their blessing Duro it's in this area like first students in Wichita Area I'm not sure what Kansas City they don't they provide everything I will tell you that's go-cost sayings from around here I will tell you probably the most efficient if

017you own your own buses have good shape at the end of the day your cost per mile would probably be less when you own them and take care of them if you both Lisa and or have a company take care of them if you have your own it's good if you've never owned your own you're never going to own your own because it's going to take too much money to get started into a fleet you'll always do what you've been doing if you using a company or if you are at least also be asked about out of next year account while they really the cash balance at the end of this year will be represented uh purchase this year but in reality through the Council of purchase order the check won't be written until but

018we receive it if we if it's approved it probably won't come in now to like October for lucky that's when with the cash balance that did this year will be accurate because it'll be on a council to purchase order that question is the price of the party with the craft technology that's how much 25 right at uh 35 623 is what the a little over 35 000. 71 passenger bus two thousand dollars a city don't go buy one of those new white activity buses about 450 pounds the net cost is 106. 868. but we would pay for it all and they give a check back and they'll be cancel that exactly they do that as always I got to make sure you spend yours yeah yeah that's just like yes sir it's all anytime you're

019working with a federal program or state program so it's always reimbursing your time that is can we get rid of any bus before the time is up oh yeah okay yeah you know and that's there's different ways I mean we talked about purple wave we talked about foreign we're getting rid of we have to destroy right that's a part of the grant we have to actually destroy that for us and we get the better price yeah it's what I'd like to kind of go somehow and destroy it I don't know how difficult that's going to be to get and you can say let's run it tell us why the motors out destroy the math one that's the reason they're making the destroy because there any other questions on the different there's an immersion second key

020Chad all those in favor say aye any opposed same time okay ASB membership so we have invoices for ksab membership next year and also the legal assistance but as you can tell uh there's an increase in both of those use the legal assistance quite a bit okay foreign [Music] yeah you have the letter the front of you that is Traders sick question thank you Mr Larry Wood so let's say a bridge repair going all out of replacement and the buses run between Wilson flat transporting what's that going to do in the route time and Etc but I talked to the head of Rhodes and bridges there in Ellsworth but I asked him what's the official DeTour for a bus route it had anything to say right in that right then they said well maybe we'll

021be done in August which I don't think that's going to come close because I don't think baby has a contractor yet so I told her I'd like to reach back out and in August see what the official recommended probably be I know there's a couple options I also know that we're talking crap several miles of gravel on some of those options so I won't tell you the way to the track meet we're going to go to I believe we're going to Ellsworth yeah to go to the track meet next week contract so please run across next year transports to the back and forth that may or may not be the right I don't know the exact I don't know all the routes yet I don't know that there's a paid uh solution whether you go

022One Direction or the other to cross the river I don't know all the categories that might be paint I would prefer paint we I mean we could run we've run gravel roads all the time uh electronic our activities here we've got them pre-loaded to stay on pavement going to like a track meet the route because we've run these buses on gravel titles there's a good Gravel Road and wide enough I wouldn't have a problem with it I don't know what kind of bridges we have on either side of that either so that well at a time yes I would assume considerable I'm probably yeah if it's a bus at all that time I don't know if it'd be more than 10 15. that's what you know 20 minutes yeah but I'm going another way and

023taking some gravel rotors I don't stay there yeah that was the old way but still going to have that's about 390 degree terms and I think a bunch of dirt line of big fine dark maybe that's good the only reason I bring that up is for that might be anything in consideration words here conversation you know if we're going to use a bus yet a great Community Suburban what's happening are we going to use a bus for sure uh no we that hasn't been determined yet uh you know tell people until we enroll in August so I really won't have the exact number if you've had open houses okay we've had some kids down at open houses so at this point in some of our high school kids that probably gonna cry so so I

024can't tell you that right now and so I said we have a bus a lot to figure out Bridge closure yes it's a five ton eleven until they start hooking into the to the road to the road completely the five times used have you given a thought or written down any numbers for release arrangement with the Catholic school that we had I you know initially we talked about splitting utilities which I believe that threaded Cloud speed it would take those six feet sixty count all utilities water yes all that I will tell you I checked it at a couple of things if we share teachers they will have to be paid by the diocese and not us I cannot and I don't get any credit for unless we give them a credit and we wouldn't

025be given the credit because they're not our students so they would actually shared so they were six ten Stars we pay 60 percent 40 or 50 50. we pay for whatever time if we shared staff so how does that work with benefits uh well you know that's up to whatever they give benefit we would you have to work 30 hours to get our health insurance so don't yeah if you work 1200 hours a year and you get the full benefit and then it's prorated down like a half time get fifty percent so you're splitting the teacher 50 50. the benefit would be 50 50 if diocese agrees to pay to happen I don't think just from my perspective that seems perfectly reasonable yeah and who's ever planned I don't know whose plan they'd be on

026like if they'd be on the school's plan and the dynasty rights as a check or you know that there's a lot of stuff to Etc beyond their plan and we write them a check for what they were for us could that be permanent reduction as well it's based on salary so that's the reason I say that we could pay the full salary here reimbursed we'd have to actually split it a teacher like okay we're paying 60 you pay 40 by the way it probably won't be the same one dollar I don't know like like I think I heard him say try to get to 75 80 percent of what most schools are paying on the salary area so if you're looking probably looking a little bit less for that time that our Capers and the

027FICA that's all based on one we pay so really well there will be some benefit to concealed ill staff so if we share that the same thing goes with part-time for the USB part-time private which you have to be paid by two that it needs same thing goes the benefits and papers I did talk to him about if they were going to do Sports there'd probably be at least on equipment for depreciation and stuff same way with football field should be easy abuse they know what they do shop use another cost per employment depreciation on a shop equipment so there's a few items in there if they tell me you know if there's not going to be a shot or anything like that offered to put a couple three about it there's so many variables

028that I don't know yet but there's always you know once you have specifics but I would expect appreciation on a program that they're using are equipment because they're going to appreciate right I mean if they use it a year you're going to have equipment to appreciate you're going to have uniforms appreciate all those things we'll appreciate and there's they're all set on depreciation value anyway so but no I have not keep things like I did give him that number about what I thought utilities give or take I'd have to look again about what I'd like utilities were and I continue to be concerned about how as a district we're going to be able to provide a gym and art and things to our elementary students in Wilson business at this a good solution for that

029at this point there is no uh right up the art specifically it might be music and physical education would be available for the classroom teacher to utilize that not only is it hard to find an art teacher or types I think I mean I think there's a big benefit not excluding the fact that we wouldn't have happened it might also increase the likelihood that you guys would only have to bring Suburbans over or something in terms of fussing um we've been surveying people and as far as we can tell the majority of people plan to bring their 73 qualificators have been a better business to happen um and I'm assuming the local parish is thoughtful word now they we still need to get the official though it's I mean largely behind it but we had

030like officially foreign [Music] transfer to be not out I'm kind of all eggs were placed in the basket of silver Lucas and then that didn't work out and so I felt like everybody was left scrambling on the land transfers haven't worked out and now I feel like always are going to be placed in the basket of the the Catholic School and so I have a hard time giving another year and extending things and now it's not just extending things that would really be going back on the motion that has been made and everything else is bought through and the plans that are in place for next year in the future to add to that I have concern about the quality of academics at this point because we have a lot of teachers we already had

031some positions that were not certified and that's a growing list to fill those positions that's just that's concerning to me to be that for another year I don't I think it's a disservice to the students academically so everybody's thoughts on them moving forward on that negotiations do we give them give the diocese the building what's that we give the guys to use that building put in this report is that an option that option do that you'd have to close the elementary portion from our perspective USD 112 that there have to be no attention centers there is the diocese interested in the entire building Roger um whatever yeah I think something that's hard about that is uh it's going to be difficult already to get in the junior high school like in all the staff and

032stuff and so to do this don't do that also for elementary if he would be a tall order so not in the media transition potentially yes not immediately interested in having the whole building I guess do not perspective on it those I think we'd be in the same situation like you said but could we sell the building to the city and the city could rent it lease it to the captain diocese but I think we'd be in the same position there couldn't be any Elementary there yeah that's correct the Oregon you know because deployed tennis centers there's no building numbers whatever they wanted to there's got two numbers right we can't give them just the 7 through 12 number yes now because it's an approved tennis center for the state by state statute to tell

033kids that they can't attend at the USD 112. you have to close that building all right if you're close that then you could do would have the option to do whatever you wanted to them what do you do you close the whole building for our way of closing that Attendance Center and that's important now where the resolution was to close the 712 building which has its own separate number all right to do something with the whole building because you'd have to eliminate given just the 7 through 12 buildings yes and you would have to Yes it do 720 you would have to uh if they do this you have somebody come in and actually like a legal description just like you would any property you'd have to have something which actually I think attorney could

034probably do this possibly come up with that people's description but you'd have to have a legal description sell it give it away eliminated now that being said I will tell you the element you would like to use a gym or physical education and price and recess time with bad weather that's okay and I've picked this around and I I thought about moving the elementary to that end but that is really not equipped for coventory kids I mean the other end's actually put better for elementary kids so you can do it but it's going to be healed kind of inconvenient for both sides of that I mean you put doors up you also have to figure out how to handle utilities because I doubt they're metered separately you'd have to separate the meters out somehow I

035don't know I could not take right off hand what that would how that would work you have to figure out how to beat yourself Gas and Electric but it would be one way to get get rid of the building and get something out of it whether the negotiations were whatever that whatever that led to and you're still going to have maintenance on the building that expenses Etc instead of said it might be a possible way to negotiate common space whatever certifications are so happy added survey or however that would work yeah just kind of a legal descriptions yeah they've told because I asked about that I think kind of like illegal description just like you would a piece of ground go out and split a piece of ground up you have a legal description on

036it so you'd have a big description on what property well yeah you'll be like closing costs you know you'd have initial expense get that far and then before the negotiations you shared those expenses however to be negotiated let's come over that way if you have one less bill it's going to cause this to sit there anyway or if it's used from another entity and really in the end it wouldn't change much of what we're negotiating I would appreciate it because it would not have to be one way or the other either they're using our building or we're using the portion of their buildings the negotiations would be the same so how I'm taking it from this letter to Cal F ties would have a difficult time to organize a 7 or 12 schools this year

037I mean so uh it would I mean obviously it would come at this challenges as ideal but we uh even if you guys into your extension extension we still would want to do negotiations do illegal I agree yeah yeah what I'm saying is the way I'm taking it the reason why they want that extension because it's very difficult to go from now to the beginning of August and have a school set and ready to go if it has a chance but I think what they're saying he put out the year there was no year extension there just don't want to at least believe make an attempt yeah that's what I understand okay yes what I mean and that's kind of what Mr Andrews told me if you know so here's the deal with private doesn't

038quite have a same criteria number of hours right nothing says they have to start August whatever the TV start as a public school you can start out playing today I just wonder if there's any interest in the Diocese of owning a building the seven through twelve follows if we sell to you per dollar yeah like the 7 through 12 portion of it uh I don't think so yeah I mean that's especially if it would simplify things in terms of negotiations and sharing utilities and stuff yeah coming up with a plan to release the building so well the next year every visit for sale a year from now to see if it turned out to be a Bible School you know for you know that way it looks like a school that's going to be there

039have a year or two do the survey do the negotiations I would think it'd be a problem to have a basic treatment in three days so yeah I mean I guess I don't but it's at least a great but they're selling to me as the negotiations if that's the way we moved no matter which way or whatever you need to be done you could probably give it that in 30 days because I think that's critical do anything it's critical to have that benefit case that's like if you're looking at least for next year or myself was I think it well I think it would be more difficult I don't think the 30 days could be enough would be enough to but I don't mean I know that but the separation of the two entities they

040cut the meters it's going to take some time to do right yeah yeah we can't get that done we cannot separate all that and you're talking you know you brought a football field in the gym things like that's going to take to go to diocese School District they won't even know that probably they've said on Sports is if they had enough right and I know they're doing a survey now you know the results of that I don't think the surveys the times you know you've got more time to complete that so and you're going to lose I mean they're going to lose kids they're neighboring districts or it's going to make yourself come here hello my other thought on doing the lease this coming year and then talking about it later too is also figure

041out what the elementary looks like and that made me part of that too gives us a year to kind of see how that plays out I've been asked about the elementary and I continue to say until August oh no I just like it you're going to go just like you had planned because of the office you really had to have a choice of what one thing that may change before August is Staffing I'm currently three Elementary teachers teacher short of ties for about two months have no application that could be my biggest challenge but obviously well then what do we do if we decide the lease and they don't either have enough kids to have a school there I mean that lease is going to still have to be the same right they're at the

042lease is the least and that's the sign that I say it knocked I mean I say this flooded Isaac but I actually think it's part of local yeah yeah it's primarily on the parish yes well I agree in that part uh but whatever assignment agreement is in agreement yeah that's kind of like anything you 've decided here at least decided to move back you're still going to pay right exactly has a couple Catholic schools is anybody sharing a building like in this same situation they share some attempting yeah the elementary is a charter school but yeah but the Charter's still public yeah even though I mean the charter is still funded through the District of Bank the schools still funded through the district they specialize in what their focus is what their goal is but

043the other day is still a public school funded through the state but they do share with a chart or something out there and they've had I think they've had to work out yeah research and then see there's you have to work out some details just with anything you do there maybe things come up they didn't anticipate too when he had to work out I struggled to find that significant downside for the district I mean I obviously that's a little bit of admin work to figure out how it's going to work and do all of that but in the long run I don't know especially if we do the lease if it doesn't work out which I'd probably say I hope it does the Wilson's sake of the church is it but I if it doesn't

044we're not really out anything it's a district and so I just foreign but I mean I think that I'm sorry and our other circumstance of a teacher sharing Like Larry said you would have to be on the categorithms at their school apart that would be under the least problem an agreement and it might be that maybe the airbags have to get their own yeah the Lush may be the one thing I had to figure out how to determine whether or not they can participate with the nutrition program like we do we sell adult prices because they won't allow you to sell our prices to people who are important I don't know the exact words like that at this point but if we're done here does them at all because all of them but we've got

045all that confidence not beginner but if we don't share it we got our own music teacher our own I mean as of right now we gotta have our own and we're struggling with five teachers as it is uh and like he said to find a teacher that that would be possibly being paid less or in the situation I he didn't talk about counseling and admin also two areas that you talk about sharing it was Advent counseling also as you know got some contracts later on that we're looking at present positions I guess I mean in the end we're not agreeing no matter what the negotiation is that we're going to do in the end if it's an awful offer then we don't have to take it's not why not that if you don't like it

046or not other options on the table other than it it does just take away from planning I mean I feel like it's even with this line of Diaries I feel like it's hard and it's just prolonging everybody being able to prepare for next year it's it's moving stuff and and students and parents and everybody just kind of up in the air still and making it harder to prepare and praying and know exactly for sure what what the preferable what you plan for I know I was asked this question Wilson Wilson uh the student wanted to know they started school leaving semester or nine weeks would they still be eligible that answers no no all seven through 12 students this year have a free us be eligible wherever they go but once you walk into a

047school building to attend it's School you're locked in for a year you can go someplace and play Junior Forest you need something like that but your eligibility is limited unless you move do so that was because you know I think that's what they were fishing is okay so let's say we try we don't like it can we still go someplace else to be helpful to play we can't play JV well they do it's not hardships appeal yeah I know I'm not even going to go there because I so I guess I don't quite understand the camera but like how it would be well I mean just like they said it's like Allison said you know the quality of education for us to extend in another year I mean I think that's what we're talking just

048the neck of the church I mean it's evident that the consensus for me but even the same thing I feel like been trying to have to slide the dice this week today I mean the bishop and the Supercuts are very supportive and very unborn with this a lot of members of the community as well if you've not say anything that you have the core classes you thought I'd cover well I actually I have for most of the core classes I have people that potentially not like definitely not absolutely but there are we at least possible yeah I it was Hammer's saying that is a good point we're in this and then we say no and they're important there to go to this Catholics when we don't do it then I get their parents that would

049suck gotta scramble to go somewhere well they're already scrambling anyway this would just be another option for it could be an option for the district to recoup expenses as bad as this sounds that responsibility is not on the district it's only Catholic School it gets I mean they they are asking us and are saying that they're willing to to attempt to get it done for this year but either way if they can or can't if we make the agreement it doesn't necessarily affect the district directly and obviously we're responsible to educate our students but the building is literally closed the authority kids so it's not when would you have your surveys back on well I think we have most of that now already but most of what we're going to get um the are you

050wondering about numbers are you okay um so the what we have right now is I think I should have brought along with me but we were killing this afternoon um I think about uh 50 of the 60 or so students have been accounted for in the survey um there of that 30 would plan on attending I think maybe 10 or so or uncertain are considering attending and 12 I said no they would not attend um now the caveat with that is this is kind of an error in the survey of it is possible that some parents like both parents filled it out and so we have more kids accounted for that have actually you know had their parents fill out the survey um but give it I mean just in terms of percentage-wise if the

051majority would be coming yeah it's a decent amount to be considering as well but that's also with tuition and yes they're kind of like us until August to wherever we have involve it if you're not going to happen exact numbers give any idea of what might be coming here I know you know but ten three that six did you send that survey out to the other towns we have yeah we've tried to get it out to Ellsworth and Russell because there are um you know there are some people who likely or you know to be interested in Catholic Education as I said um we've heard one family from Russell or from Ellsworth that's very interested in sending other than that I think they're relatively fresh to those communities since we haven't got a lot of

052responses back yeah what other option that I have discussed that has been brought up the last week is I have a few students that would like to take on my live classes to finish their requirements graduation because we could have done that even within the whole District of 2012 to use Lakeside learning some classes so there are some students have already started that discussion they don't need a lot of credits to graduate and Lakeside if you graduate every month like we do graduation Alliance so there is there is that discussion out there also I will tell you that Lakeside is funded on September 20th by the kids that are enrolled in Soviet virtual funding Lakeside so what do we need for physical word they're either move forward or not so there's about two things to

053consider here I think come to the conclusion first of all that's an extension I mean I have you have to pass that by action if you want to consider leasing it like it says you can say we could consider hey they have a lease agreement to be proposed you have to at that at some point you're going to have to approve that lease agreement whatever that is looks like at the very end if we go through it is made reasonable it has you know really it's going to have to be reasonable or for their side than our side you're going to have a chance doing it and now I will tell you that I've had a couple of points that I don't think they want to share I hope share with the Catholic school or

054share with Central points foreign people who were ever actually interested in it um so I guess that from my perspective though well there's a chance in May when they come back yes well I don't know still that chance but I yeah yeah I mean I guess just with the yeah as kind of if we can get a lease uh right now that's reasonable that splits free yeah it splits things evenly like like for us to know how many the board members are interested in going through with that so it would be that would consider a spellings yeah we can make that emotion right I will make sure yeah it's up to the board but that they have a bunch great job at least right that's what happens I can't remember the name of the time

055to see it yeah so basically go out and create the agreement s basically charging myself and Mr Andrews to come up basically I like that word between USD 112 and the Catholic Diocese okay for that Roger okay uh the lease agreement between USD 112 and the Catholic Diocese of Salina for 712 thank you to negotiate a lease agreement between USD 112 and the Salina diocese for the use of the Wilson 712 building the school year of 2043-24 but work to review at the May immediately uh do we want to leave that off just in case we need a special needs what's that do we want to leave that off just in case we need a special meeting to do it before yeah I mean I guess that special meeting there is a chance we have

056personal ity okay he actually used the word to create at least every you said to negotiate and what word should I use it's going to be negotiated to negotiate a lease agreement if that word is better and there could be I think both sides can be used both sides are obviously want that information okay okay the motion is to negotiate a lease agreement between usd-112 and the Catholic Diocese of Salina for the use of the 7th through 12 building at Wilson for the 22 for the 23-24 school year with the board to review foreign Roger okay is there any further discussion questions comments now this I'm going to ask questions this is not gonna supersede the hearing and everything that we closed okay so you know I'm getting asked that like a few people so

057where are we at so the resolution is in effect right we're operating the most last month of extension until that's that can be changed so that's where we're at right now resolution flows has been passed here's the bush of March not to extend tell people that's what I'm operating on because that's what work has improved in this report so this is just a negotiation yeah that's just on that okay portion because it'll be closed it's allowable okay Roger yes phone yes Josh yes I'm a no Allison yes Chad yes emotion passes sixth one okay and then item 14. I need to give you a little history before I get started on this one because as you know it was approved 350 000 of this budget was approved for a project that was denied we did

058a spin 300 Pittsburgh the work that was completed was about half we'd have to spend that much out of capital as well like 50 years in that area so we have 350 in our plan for Capital project and it does have to be spent by September 24. we had the four years ago you approved we'll see 280 000. before the whatever that was for the bush that that was moved to Hollywood improvements both HVAC and lighting oh last year we put four new compressors at Wilson Bridge back so I looked at a project that we could do for this cost at that cost the district and so right now I have HVAC for the high school gym waitro SE Services How could a prior approval request which is required for professor which requires an air

059quality study an environmental impact letter and then historical we can make sure it doesn't affect the historical status of a building you get to do those three things before you get prior approval so at this point in the process of they'll have to take vids but we do have to do those three things I'm going to do that historical piece I have a firm innovative solutions which have just completed similar projects and I got references which I feel will do a really good job as far as doing the study and the only all I'm asking for tonight is to the study and do the Environmental water which is also reimbursable through SO3 I have that if I found I got to have that vehicle back to me to make sure that that's could be reimbursed

060so that's a rat this project is Bid approved Pride we've done a year for this summer uh it's a project that will help the district it's a project that will stay under the be budgeted it will cost the district funds and probably help the district out in all of us as far as maintaining abilities so I have that before you so I think that I'd like to recommend that we do the air quality study the environmental letter a bit of any solutions questions we have all that information when would that study take place that's why you'd ask if you'd like to do it a week prior to the week after the state power lifting so that it's running during that your end so we can study the hair probably within there and we'll put it

061in two different places okay so this process is take probably six months just to complete this process to get better drink so then uh plan is if approved we would bid these equipment and then come back and bid the contractors because contractors have been this because of the supply chain being inadequate they actually Pat it pretty high so I think it will save us funds to do it equipment and then contractor and they have proved several HVAC projects with this or plants talk to I checked with them to see if those kind of funds could do that they're looking at their projects they think you know we can do this I can tell what I've been told by both of these companies the one that we've used before and just with it you can do

062it for those kind of if within that budget so basically right now you're asking for this last paragraph okay foreign Josh any further questions hearing none all those in favor say aye foreign motion passes item 15 request for the bus uh city of Wilson has requested use of the school bus the transport Area Youth or swimming lessons in Ellsworth for two weeks of the 2023 summer City will contract with the USD 112 bus driver and pay for fuel as well we've got the pass so the letter is there and also a second motion by Brad second by Chad any further discussion yeah do we know that yeah no no no no she just sent me the date so here I think it was mentioned in the summer school plans for two weeks yeah philosophical June

0631st of July study the letter but yeah okay June 26th to the 30th of July 3rd to 7th she has said that too any further discussion okay all those in favor say aye aye oppose same side motion passes 7-0 and School District that's so much need to be replaced because they reside because the board representative to the right Commission to this refresh your memories on that for the new board members we have two uh Representatives that represent usd-112 on the cloud recognition the clap on recognition has two and then as a whole they vote for the fifth person so we're just replacing Melissa Hubbard because she's moving out of the area and so Kirsten Price has taken her position and our other rep this for your information is Drew kermer budget of course there are

064but we propose we Levy the tax the tax comes us we give the school he says represented you're celebrating foreign discussion I just asked to be that position the recognition I appointed her well that's who they would have found to replace her the board so has now the board could not and this is a kind of an in-between terms I don't know how it's going to perhaps usually with the terms of you look for individuals because at some point they can't continue it's usually it's like two or three turns on the suit unless they want to do it again usually we have about three terms or four terms depends on what they said in the rules for recognition then you have to go find somebody else to sit on it a lot of times you

065have from one term you can bring it back past recognition assessment policy these don't want to observe they solicit finding a call and trying to find it probably went out trying to find out replacements and Kirsten was willing to do it yes as far as I remember it's always right any further discussion okay hearing none all those in favor say aye give me above same time motion passes seven Euro item number 17 donation request to Central Plains PTO would like to donate a mascot uniform to the school there's a picture of it attached they're hoping to have it ready for next year it has to be paid so it's a kind of a custom Behavior that they're willing to donate to the school the money transactions like they'll have it made and they're just gonna

066it's like anybody so we're accepting like any donation they want to get it made and donated to the school really felt like they wanted to do this of a relationship board to accept that donation uh because then it comes to schools enough to assign people that want to ask us get it clean it has been get it cleaned and stuff yeah um central place BTS seems like head second by Josh any further discussions all those in favor say aye oppose the same sign motion passes seven zero Mr President I moved the divorce given at six session discuss not like the first nail with the topic investigations supplemental positions certified staff classified staff and such to protect the privacy of the individuals to be discussed with Mr Larry and return to open session in this room

067you don't you think it only fit 15 minutes 7 55. return back in the room at 7 45. motion by Josh second by Brad all those in favor same design we are exactly an open session I need two motions for resignations because it's two different characters timelines I would entertain a motion to approve the resignation of book right Stephanie talk that's a boating teacher and her student is going to selected as an art teacher at Wilson effective at the end of the 2223 school year motion by Brad section second by Allison or Elizabeth say aye oppose same sign motion passes 7-0 and then I read entertain a motion to improve the resignation of Tammy poet as the cook at Wilson effective April 14 2023 come on it's actually my friend second by Chad would say

068hi all right okay the same sign motion passes seven zero and then uh motion for Willie Schubert her substitute teacher at Central Plains Junior Senior High School and Central Plains Elementary School promotion by Josh say goodbye Allison all those in favor say aye aye both same sign motion passes seven zero silence I moved to approve the new assignments for certified staff as presented thank you Allison motion by Allison Josh all those in favor say aye opposed same thing motion passes seven zero I hope to improved a higher number of Kimball is custodian at Central Plains Junior Senior High School Sheila Franson as head cook at Central Points Elementary School and Rose Wardle at Center Points Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year thank you Allison there's smoking by Allison second by Josh all those in

070of them strawberry so it's fun to watch them do that inside the gym they learn about playing what plants are going to have around to get rid of mosquitoes and then they played various games for a game showing them importance of washing their hands and stuff so it was washing their hands to keep away terms so it was a good experience for the kids as well April 17th I'll have a site council meeting at the 20th or third grade Federal Community Center called in the future the 24th pre-k-formal field trip to the Great Neck Wetland Center and then the sixth graders are busy on the 26th and the 28th and May 5th um they'll go to Ellsworth safety program and then six over the Clara bar and health fairs to get invited to that every

073State eight land power that you need will be here on the 22nd at Central Plains just Larry said like the air quality study in their future before that 600 people in the gym so if you don't have anything to do anything uh Community scholarship interviews are 423 at 1 30. National Honor Society abduction on the 24th at 7 in Auditorium senior field trip will be the Wichita on the 27th Junior Senior High Spring music will be on the 28th in the auditorium that is a calendar change from the 21st our music teacher's daughter's treatment on the 22nd so um state music will be on the 29th at Heston May 3rd is community cleanup cookout talent show and other activities here at school May 5th is the sixth grade orientation beginning at nine High School awards

074line is May 10th at six o'clock it's a potluck Junior's last day is May 11th graduation is May 14th at two o'clock and Sunday here in the gym High School junior high awards ceremony promotion uh will be May the 17th at 2 o'clock in the afternoon in the auditorium May the 19th is the last half days any questions okay cool go through a little bit of the Wilson report all accounts are balanced and accurate if you have an opportunity to review all the crisis drills the lockout Lockheed lockdown reviews and before it was still a car here they were going to clock out for about 15 minutes because they didn't know what Microsoft at the chase or whatever so they were to block out for about 15 minutes um been a busy time with events

075finding substitutes of course has been challenging this time of year continue to work on committees curriculum technology crisis Committee in Kisa for my report the first was graduation Alliance you've got this uh downloaded here pack it there I've got some hard copies circulating if you'd like I guess the thing that I see the first visual that I see is the one here and there's active students in the state and if you look at the graduates of the state it's all over the state of Kansas including our area of course the urban areas are by far more represented uh we've had over 600 graduates the state of Kansas which to me that means economic growth the state have 600 people that now have their High School diplomas I think it's beneficial we have over 300 active

076students each month taking courses to graduate October seems to be the highest graduation month uh August January the highest enrollment months also in here there's marketing they do entrance interviews and exit interviews it's very interesting to listen to people that get their diploma and circumstances the way they had to get their diploma and what it means to them at this time I know and we take pictures you know capping a gown up there we take pictures with them and one lady come up and she brought her kids and her grandkids to be involved with her getting her picture of the promise of their a lot of great success stories and that if you'd like to read those uh we will change July 1. to the central plains diploma so that'll be a change a little

077bit as we go through that process we uh current on our Child Care Network we currently have raised 157 thousand dollars we still have sixty five thousand one hundred dollars in tax credits yet that we could that people can purchase as a donate toward this fund so that's available I've been thinking that if we hit 200 000 we might be able to process of what what we do for daycare uh here I'm looking at other grants I've talked to Patterson Family Foundation they currently did not have any open Grant periods but they're going to have some coming up they're interested in helping out there is a child care capacity accelerating Grant but we've made partner with uh Bartlett County Economic Development as they're going to write accelerated grant program for ABB with abcc which is

078advancing the Barton County Child Care and that will actually talk you to her next week to see what's available to help us accomplish our goals as a Child Care Network I would like to ask each board member to recommend one person to be on an Advisory board for our Child Care Network I feel like need to get something in place to help us develop this as we go through there so Beach Board member could recommend a person that has interests or wants to be involved with child care our district so they can feel that board and help advise and go through and make decisions as we developer in our district and we hopefully we can extend it to all of our sinners including Holly all of our tennis centers we have it even pushed it

079or wherever companion daycare we're going to talk about that have that advisory could help us as we go through that uh as you know last year we were paid for a line enrollment and we will be doing online enrollment this year it'll be a change but after a year I think it'll be appreciated and so forth and also we're going to be lucky that online payments probably bringing a proposal to the board on online payments that also will be proudly popular with parents uh because of the convenience it also it gives them using their students PowerSchool information in case of uncheck attendance and grades where they're there uh and so forth so that'll be available hopefully we'll get that in place and be ready to go uh probably toward the end of July like in

080a period of time and we will provide computers and support for people to learn also uh our technology met and that was one of the things we talked about is automatic enrollment and online payments um we have so many student devices setting right now that we do not have to purchase student devices for next year okay because we've purchased quite a few here that being said we're looking to put teachers devices on a rotation I will tell you I got all the years we have a lot of teachers that are still using devices that purchased in 2013 2013 must have been a popular year I don't know what it was but I went through a lot and they're all apples so we're talking about letting teachers choose between Apples or PC but the apples will

081probably have a longer period because cost is a little bit more but they last a little bit longer so their rotation will be available I just want to get into a rotation so you don't get hit with an excessive amount of money to replace it a bunch of laptops we also have a grant that we usually use for student devices this year we want to I'm going to look at teaching devices for teachers I know not everybody has Smart Boards some of those smart boards are not working they're having difficulties we're looking at maybe upgrade some of the teaching devices that we have with our grant this year our technology very happy with our security software big thing is schools are getting hit to go cyber attacks trying to get and they went pay Ransom

082to get to release you so worth it so really taking a lot of precautions with our security and doing a good job with that uh Camp intervention is a project that started in Ellsworth last year that we're currently planning on having a session in Wilson and one in a central plains Edition held in Hollywood this is a kind of a self-containing turnkey it's stem education for kids it's stem stands for science technology English advantal put together they won this is sponsored by the national inventors Hall of Fame uh we are looking for Gunners to provide scholarships to kids it's 260 dollars per student there are several funds that they've already collected and we have some donors that were looking at we're still trying to work out the details I talked to the Kerry Morton she

083is the one that is the director uh the curriculum and Wilson will be different than the one in central plains so there'll be two opportunities to do two different things and the times will be not the same uh I can see oh she had a really good turnout and those were the Ellsworth students may want to take advantage of the timelines let's say can the district will probably help with Transportation within our district for those camps but it's a week-long camp kids thinks of problem solving and so as creating problem solvers so I think it's a really good program for kids so we're just working on that trying to get more details because we'll work on that we're having questions from people thank you president I knew that the board it was executive session discuss

084teacher negotiations for the purpose of new noticing items for negotiations another exception of the employer employee negotiations under the komma and they we return Open Session and in the room 10 minutes good enough at 8 26. superintendent Bill Murray attended motion by Josh in a second by Allison never say aye product Open Session there's no Act actually so do we have any board member reports they'll clarify like that house bill with uh going through the state about wherever I want lunch so that might be open Agenda items two as far as closing the building yeah it was printed with two other bills you have to get the number now 38 yeah three things with it besides that and uh it took a lot of stuff out of those three bills uh I believe it has

085to pass I think it did pass both houses wait for the Governor's security is it so it's an advisory opinion on building closure that's what that is thinking like really close your decision State Board of Education reduce it gives it advisory the final decision at us I what they've advised me it does not yes I read it but I need to get it back after January and last Saturday another question I had I got a picture today about a petition If This Were disorganized usd112 yes that petition has been circulated to install the district and if the devil legal voters registered voters signed that it'll go to a general election I have not two things I'm not sure about that bill has never is it just the next general election which as soon it was

086because it was in a special election somebody would have to be paid and they're not going to go spatial without somebody paid I think the way it reads is I think the way that it reads is that it has to be to be on a ballot where there's a School Board for lunch so it'd be the next general election because school boards now it's every two years so that's what it would be put to a boat if they had the signatures uh this is kind of a known territory to be honest with you it's also been circulated at the district also the same attorney so it may have been a general election because that far big enough signatures nobody knows because it hasn't been I don't even know if they even got that far in

0871960 when it was last utilized what the result was uh state board will have to determine how to dissolve it if it's if it passes the technology which is a simple majority of assume what's the reasons somebody barely wants I mean I think that there's a couple different reasons why people are for it the not the NYE system most reasonable reason that I've heard is not we don't have students attending the district that will some patrons don't want to pay local taxes they want the tax dollars to follow their students but you ain't gonna have 100 because we don't have any questions else or Republicans apart it's not going to be 100 no matter what it's new yeah actually our our tax dollars don't cover what we give the state be honest with you anyway

088you know some school districts like the very wealthy school districts I think it so much more money than what they get from state aid that their their backpacks is actually going to distribute across the state to equalize that any other open agendas and for next month if you would answer three personnel and also uh negotiate police agreement I would entertain a motion to return so moved approached by Allison and second by Josh okay um
