Welcome to CHS podcast and here we're going to talk about Triam. I'm joined by Kora Schwzy and Emily Martin. Uh let's start with the questions. Uh what is Triam? >> Triumph is a music honor society which is one of the National Association for Music Education programs. It encompasses people from um band orchestra and choir even though we don't have an orchestra. And they try is an a board. You send in an application and you can be part of triam to plan events for these three groups. >> Uh do you have a sponsor of any kind? >> We do. We have two sponsors. We have Mr. Bryce Wilson who is our band director and Mrs. Aubrey Stevens who is the choir director of six of like 6 through 12 u music and she was the one
who brought the chapter to Clear Water. >> Uh what's the Nope. Uh do you have any achievements in Triumph? >> Well, so far we've held a few events such as our Triumph Friendsgiving. Um then our Christmas lock in and also the Triumph March Music Madness competition >> which hopefully most of the school participated in. >> Hopefully, you know. >> Shout out Mr. Rice Tribe for winning. >> Yes. Not shout out to my tribe for not winning. >> I think we got, you know, somewhat close to >> I'm sure. Yeah. Actively forgetting what song we picked. >> Uh what's the history of Triumph? >> Okay. So, um as the historian, um the history start it's it actually started in Illinois in a high school in 1936 and has just grown throughout the Midwest and has even
created some chapters into California and all the way up to Maine. So, it's a coast to coast uh corporation. Um, but it was just recently brought to Clearwater this school year. >> Uh, what are the roles in Triumph? >> Some of the jobs you can have when you apply for Triam. Um, you can also apply to be one of on like kind of a board of people who run Try and not just a participant in the group. Um so some of those roles are mine such as the president. Um I run the meetings. I would coordinate like um guest speakers um pretty much just run things. Vice president would pretty much assist with all of that. Um that's the basic of that one. Um and then as I'm the historian mostly for the band side.
So we have we have stuff we have um members for the choir side and the band side. So, as a historian, mainly for the band side, um I take pictures of all of our events that we go to and take and take notes on what happened, what scores we got, and just compile like a scrapbook and also um like co co-working with the choir side um historian as well. And then there's also the librarian, which Cory, you want to share a little bit more about that? The librarian keeps track of all of our music files and as well as can help keep track of scores from competitions and contests. They do a lot of cataloging. Whenever we get new pieces, they put them into the spreadsheets and they help organize with that. >> Uh do
you guys have any uh social media that you promote? >> We do. We have a Tik Tok and we have an Instagram and a Facebook um which are love ran ran by the lovely Hayden Graves. Um but as she's graduating so that'll be a spot that'll be open to next year as well. >> Uh what's the name of it? Is it just Triumph? >> The um >> the name CHS Triumph. >> Yeah. Social media. Uh do you have any challenge that you challenges that you faced during triumph? >> One was probably participation with the music merch music madness. Um a couple of tribes weren't exactly participating and it wasn't exactly made very clear that that's something we wanted people to do. So next year we're going to have to step up on that and make
sure that there's announcements for that and make sure that all the tribe time teachers know that we need them to vote. Another another um issue that I personally had as like the person who like put kind of put it out on the trophy case this year um was um the bracket. The bracket was kind of wonky for lack of a better word um since we had to go from six down to four two teams. And so that made that rose a lot of questions and created a few conflicts between people. Um, but overall it worked out. It went great. Hoping for more um involvement next year. >> Uh, is there anything else you would like to add about Try or anything else? >> Well, applications, you can if you're in band or choir in any
of those classes. Um, you can send in your application at the beginning of the next school year in the fall or in the spring of next um next spring. Um, we're always willing to accept new members. And this year was a little extra rough because it was our first year and getting our chapter. So next year it will be a hundred times better. At least we're hoping. Well, I guess that's all we have. Um uh have a good day. Thank you for listening in.
