What is everybody? It's working up here. Welcome back to the Colorado Sports Talk podcast. It's Stu Crew. We're coming for you. Today we got a non-sporty interview, but it is a pretty informative interview about Stu Crew. Um today I got two Stu Crew representatives with me today. I have Bradley Christensen. And Taryn Fischer. So I have a few questions for them today and uh we're going to get to know a little more about Stu Crew, why they wanted to join, and what's upcoming this coming week. Um to start off with you, right? Why did you want to join Stu Crew? Uh I joined Stu Crew because my sister was really into it and she said it was just a really good group to like be involved in in high school and just have fun with
it. So. How about you, Taryn? Um I really like being involved and I'm really big on planning and so it's fun to plan all the events and it looks good on a resume. Yes, yes it does indeed. Um yeah. I was in Stu Crew for 2 years, first 2 years here. Very fun, very great. Wish I did all 4 years, but how the turns table. I don't know. I loved it. It was great. Um uh but what are your uh roles in Stu Crew? Um this year we are junior representatives, but next year I will be president. And I will be vice president. That sounds like a lot more responsibility uh but it sounds fun. Um sounds like you guys are going to be leaders of Stu Crew and have a lot to uh work
on um within the student council and it'll be fun. Uh but uh tell me about that. Um call I mean I I went to a few like two conferences. Tell me about conferences and then I know you two went to camp as well. So tell me about uh camp as well. So camp is every summer. We both went last year, but we aren't going this year, sadly. And um it's how many days? Like 4 days or something? And you're roomed up with a random person, random school. That was very out of our comfort zone. We did not like separating. But it was really fun. We got together all day. Me and Taryn had breakfast together every morning to like debrief about everything. But, camps had a ton of different like activities for us to do
and just to get to know other schools and like what they did in their Stu Go. And we learned a lot from a ton of different a ton of different schools. Um conferences happen every fall and all Stu Go members go. And we just have a bunch of workshops, but next year we're hosting. So, we'll have a bunch of schools here and we're really excited to plan that. Yeah. Um going to Stu conferences, I believe they were just both at Eisenhower. Uh they uh make it kind of a big thing and I think it's uh really was really fun, really great. Uh speakers were great. Uh environment was great. Meeting new people. Um all the workshops. Uh they were great. The snacks they provided was really good. Um but having it here is definitely going
to be fun, especially being the vice president and the president. Uh definitely a lot of responsibility, but it's definitely going to be really great and really fun. Um and definitely going to get you guys out of your comfort zone a lot, but like I said, great, fun, new experiences, great on a resume. Um tell me uh about our Stu Go teacher, Mendenhall. Miss Mendenhall. >> Um Mendenhall has been there since we have been in Stu Go. And she's really good. She loves planning She loves keeping track of all of it and she's very good at keeping all of our documents and planning everything and I think she's probably the best teacher we could have. Riley? Oh my yeah, I think Taryn said it all. I mean, she's just a really good Stu Go leader and
I mean, she's also she's also a freshman PE teacher. So, it was good that we already got to know her. And I just think she really supports us and not just Stu Go, but also just throughout our lives, really. Um yeah, being in there for uh with her for a year She really great. Um cuz I think that I was in my first my second year in there was the first year doing it. Um, and I think she did a great job just taking that new role and she's definitely a great uh, StuCo teacher and just a great teacher in general. Great person. Um, uh, you've done StuCo for 3 years now? This would be a third. Um, obviously being so involved in it, uh, what is like a favorite StuCo memory? Um, I just
really love anything any of our like activities. I really love homecoming week the most probably. We have our bonfire night on Thursday nights. And it's where and like the homecoming candidates will like put on a dance and everything and play some games. And I just think it's really fun to like be like behind the scenes of everything. You can like press play on music and just announce what's going on and I just think it's fun to be kind of in charge of it all. Um, my favorite memories are every time that we make a Tik Tok because we like to recruit the freshman and especially the boys in StuCo and make them just do things that they don't want to do and it makes for great Tik Toks. Um, yeah, does it Who who runs
the Tik Tok and like the Instagram and everything? So, it's all on Mindy's phone, but we all kind of just take parts of it just Oh, like she You guys don't have like the passcodes or anything where you could just do it on your phone. It's just on hers and then she just gives you her phone and then you just do it. Um, so, uh, this coming week I heard in the announcements this morning about the bingo StuCo bingo thing coming up next week. What is that all about? What's that entail? Like what what what is that exactly? So, we first saw the idea from Eisenhower and they made a Tik Tok about it and then we stole their idea and so next week everybody will be getting a bingo card and we'll call bingo
numbers at the beginning of the day during the announcements and then the first person from each grade to get a win will bring the card to Mendenhall and they will get a gift card and then every winner after that will be put into a raffle to draw for a prize. Um what are these prizes? It's a secret. You have to You'll find out. Yep. So each student each tribe time gets a bingo like what what was that? Each student gets a bingo and then the first person the first person from each grade to win gets a gift card for sure and then everybody after that is entered into a raffle. Okay, so like I I would say I get like my number is B12. So it's basically like a lottery and then you roll it,
grab it. B12 senior more wins out of the senior class and you I get to pick a prize. You have it's like bingo you have to get like five in a row. >> I have to get called five times? You don't have a number assigned to you. We are call Have you played bingo? Yes, but I'm I'm lost. So we'll call numbers like B4, E5, something like that over the announcements. >> card. >> And you have your card. Every student will have a card and you like cross it off whenever it's called and when you get five in a row you win. And you take it to Mendenhall's room. Okay, that makes a lot more sense. Um is this like how many are you calling in a day? We start at five and then so
like Monday we'll call five, Tuesday we'll call six, Wednesday seven, eight, when Thursday eight, Friday nine and then if we need to call more numbers cuz we need more winners we'll just call more. Yeah. Chrome man, I'm a chrome man. Um yeah, uh that sounds really great. I really hope I get five in a row cuz I love prizes and I love surprises. Put that on a t-shirt. Um but thanks for having me. I mean thank you for coming on today. Thank you for coming on. Thank you for having me. Thank you for having me Taran and Riley. And I'll just do the outro since that's okay. >> Yeah, no that's okay. But thank you guys for watching and guys for listening and catch y'all in the next one.
