I'd like to let everyone know that we did have an executive session. It was held on April the 23rd of 2026 immediately prior to this regularly scheduled meeting for the purposes of personnel matters including but not limited to performance and
003our discipline negotiations and legal issues. Miss Isabella, what do we have this evening other than there's 26 days left of the school year? Well, Pleasant Valley has had a great week this year with Minithon coming up this Saturday, which everyone is super excited for. And Leo Club, I know, has been working really hard getting everything done and getting prepared for this big event. Um, and we can't wait to see how much money we raise this year. We're hoping to break our goal and get 17,000. Um, this event continues to be one of the most meaningful traditions in our school. Raising money for the Four Diamonds Foundation, which supports children battling cancer and helps family with cost of treatment. Our students take this cause very seriously because we do have students who have gone through that
004and have used four diamonds to help them. So, it's just nice to see like our community come together, especially with donor drive to raise money. Um, and we're really excited for it. Well, I know I am. Um, but there's also a lot happening for seniors are coming up. We have our tailgate graduation. Um, also we're going to Don Park for our senior trip which everyone's super excited for. >> And I just want to wish everybody good luck who are taking tests this year the at the end of the year especially for the AP testing. >> Yeah, that's it. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Well, have a great rest of the school year and thank you for being our our rep this year. All right. Um, Mrs. Smail. >> Good evening everyone. Um, later on in
005the agenda item 9B, you're going to be voting on the collective bargaining agreement with the Pleasant Valley Education Support Staff. Year 3 4.39%, year four 4.19% and year 5 4.24%. Um other financial and language changes there's increase in the dental insurance coverage from 1,500 to 2,000 annual max. Life insurance coverage increase from 45 to 75,000 increase in the spousal s charge for health insurance coverage. Um that's uh employee contribution increase in employee premium shelf for premium share for health insurance coverage increase in specialty doctor visit urgent care visit and emergency room visit co-pays increase in clothing allowance for food service custodial

Two additional holidays to remain consistent with the rest of the district. one additional vacation day after the 16th year, then the 21st year, then the 26th year of service. Various um that Mrs. Fulmer's department and the union representation have worked out over the last couple of years. Um so now they've just become part of the collective bargaining agreement. um and some language cleanup in and then the the

Um 62 years of age and 25 years of full-time service with the district and you would be eligible for employee insurance coverage until Medicare age if you were covered by health insurance with the district while you were employed. And they're the highlights of the contract. Any questions? Okay. Okay. Thank you very much. You're welcome. >> And I bet you're you're up again. Your secretar's report, please. >> Tonight, I am requesting approval of the minutes of the meeting held on March 26, 2026, and approval of the April 23rd, 2026 board meeting agenda, including a correction to item 8B, page 30. The word 60 should be changed to 70. Item 14 C number 18, Lexia Voyager should be K to2, not K to 6. And then
008the addition of item 15B3, a contract for Q Entertainment LLC. This is for the Pleasant Valley School District DJ for the prom at a amount of $3,700. >> So moved. >> I have a motion by Mr. Walters, seconded by Mrs. Hopeley. Is there any discussion? All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. At this time, are there any Pleasant Valley citizens that would like to address the board? Um, it would be on agenda items only. If so, please come to the podium. State your name and the township that you reside in, please. And there is a threeminut limit. Okay. Seeing neither of those three people out there coming to the podium, we will move on. uh treasures report. Mrs. Surface is on a wonderful vacation.
009So at this time, if I could have a motion or 4B through Let me see. H >> move second. >> I have a motion by Mr. Burgerer, seconded by Mr. Clark. Is there any discussion? >> All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. Moving on to unfinished business, Mr. Fitzgerald. >> Uh, no unfinished business, but I think uh we'll use tonight's uh exercise with adding the agenda item as just the agenda or the um the remembering the process for how the Sunshine Act was was clarified. Um so, as a result of adding that agenda item, we'll now need to just post at district offices tomorrow the the new agenda with that added item to be consistent with the processes when we add within 24 hours.
010Thank you. Does anyone else have any other unfinished business? Okay, we'll move on to new business. Uh Monro Career and Technical Institute. Um we have a meeting coming up whatever the first Monday is in May. Uh Colonial AU Mr. Clark. >> Uh the report is attached. I attended last night and there'll be another report attached next month. >> Okay. Thank you. Uh, PSBA liaison, Mrs. Hopeley. >> Uh, good evening. I have the information also in a report, but I just wanted to go over a couple things. PSBA um legislative and advocacy report. The mental health awareness, it's House Bill 1706. It requires referral of student assistant program SAP for students who are habitually truent, show behavioral changes or withdrawal from activities. This also requires updated coach training and included mental health awareness. House Bill 1558
011wants to add diaper changing stations in schools mandating diaper changing station, men's and women's bathroom in all the public buildings including the schools. PSBA opposes this legislation. um education tax credit programs cost about 600 meeting $680 million limited oversight due to lack of key data such as income enrollment history academic outcomes making effectiveness difficult to evaluate and then the state budgetary advocacy for 2627 PSBA urges an onetime budget on excuse me on-time budget prioritizing public education districts face rising costs and staffing shortages is increase student needs and aging facilities. Then they have a call to action to adopt a resolution calling for fair funding, mandate relief, and continued investment in programs, facilities. They want submitted resolutions to PSBA to strengthen the statewide advocac advocacy. >> Is that everything, Denise? This is hopefully everything. That's everything.
012>> Okay. >> All right. Thank you. Moving on to education report. Um yes, two weeks ago we had numerous items uh to do with education on our work session. I will highlight a couple of things. Um this evening we have on our agenda numerous contracts and also some uh textbooks to approve. Um, but the the really great highlights are that Mary Katherine Gar, a science teacher at our high school, was uh the outstanding science teacher at ESU by the science research society. So, congratulations to her. The other really special thing was that a program at PVE, the music program that Mrs. sponsor had done uh will receive an excellence in education award from the IU uh I think in two weeks I think because Mr. Clark is going to that um also um Mr. McCutchen,
013our middle school principal, was with us that evening and he discussed with us an infusion of content literacy which will be done uh next school year uh which will be done during and a revised um win period and we are partnering with the IU and they will provide us a coach to do this program. Um, also PVE did uh provide highlights of their building uh for the past few months. Uh, and they were doing a lot, let's put it that way. And then, um, I don't want to steal maybe Mr. Ber's thunder, but hopefully um, I know a number of us were able to get over to it, but the freedom truck is over in the stadium parking lot. Um, it will be here also tomorrow. So, if you haven't had a chance to see
014it, it is a wonderful exhibit. That's all I have. Um, moving on to finance. Um, Mr. Surface isn't here, but I don't think there's anything else as we to add. Uh, athletic report, Mr. O'Keefe. Um, but definitely he doesn't have a report this evening. Uh, Mrs. Duner policy. >> There's no report tonight. Thank you. >> Thank you. Capital improvement, Mr. Burgerer. uh CHA uh provided an update on the high school res uh renovation at our April working session. Um and and prior to having that uh that meeting in on the 9th of April, the board members uh went over to the high school, took a tour through to look at the progress that had been made in and the major areas that uh will soon become available. And uh then we went and visited the
015areas uh and rooms that had flooring that had mooring issues and I'll be discussing that later. Uh today uh the uh team met to discuss uh the the status of the high school renovation including work that was ongoing in the administrative cafeteria mechanical additions which will be ongoing through August of this year. uh external renovations are ongoing and progress on on the brick work in particular is visible from the highway. So when you go driving by take a quick glance, you got the circle to go. So don't >> don't take too much don't create a problem in the circle. But uh uh the the progress we're making is is substantial and we currently are on track and I hope that we continue to just stay there. Uh the best solution for the greenhouse uh with
016all the other things that have been going on um nothing has been done in that area but we will continue looking for that solution. uh the uh solution for the mar floors. Uh we're in the process right now of testing the materials. Uh once we get the results back from that uh we'll be moving forward with our our uh recommended uh solution. um relative to the uh other schools at the intermediate school. The children replacement uh preparation is ongoing for that to be done this summer. Uh at the middle school, the HVAC upgrade planning is been started. Um we're collecting the uh requirements design requirements and and we be performing costing related data to that we will provide at a later date. Uh we continue to work with uh our various partners to pursue grants
017when they become available. Uh we're also investigating a solution to the problem with the Ches Hill building water related issues and u when we get done examining it we'll be providing information feedback on that. Uh our next capital improvements meeting is scheduled for May 21st. Thank you. >> Thank you Mr. Burgerer. Uh technology report Mr. Clark. >> Nothing at this time. Okay, thank you. Security report, Mr. Walters. >> Yeah, I just want to take a moment to thank the team for addressing any turnover we had with security very quickly. Um, I feel like we are in a good spot coming up to all the May extracurriculars all the way up to graduation and uh it was very important. So, thank you guys for filling those positions and let's take that success into next school year.
018>> Thank you. Uh, Mr. Gazyski is not here. The citizens advisory committee, but we do uh there is a meeting um May 7th. I >> I know. >> Yeah. Whenever that Wednesday is May 7th. >> May 6th. May 6th. Okay. See. Okay. So, there is an upcoming uh meeting on May 6th. >> All right. Moving into superintendent reports. Dr. Conrad. >> All right. Uh good evening everyone. So, tonight I'm seeking approval for items 8B. Item 7A isformational. So move >> second. >> I have a motion by Mr. Walter, seconded by Mr. Burgerer. Um, is there any discussion? >> All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. >> Okay, moving on to human resources. Mrs. Lori Fman. >> Good evening. Tonight I'm seeking approval of items
0199B through 9J. Items 9K through 9M areformational. So move >> second a motion by Mr. Clark and seconded by Mr. Walters. Is there any discussion? >> I just had a quick question just to verify. I had to find you. Um the affiliation agreements, one now with Commonwealth University of PA and then another one down the line, Lehi University >> just for these are going to be student teachers that are be coming into our buildings for their study. >> Yes, that is correct. >> Okay. Thank you. Anyone else? >> I just make my comment. I'm glad to see student teachers coming in. It's a a project that we've done in in the past and uh if we get uh individuals who come in and see the the types and quality of things we're doing here, >>
020they will become candidates for openings that we might have in the future. >> Anyone else? All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. Um, just a comment. Um, thank you for the approval of the Pleasant Valley Educational Supports Professionals Contract and thank you to all the team members that worked on that. Appreciate it. I know you guys >> did a lot of work on that. >> Thank you, Mark. >> Okay. Thank you. Okay. So tonight I'm seeking approval of items 10B through 10G. Item 10H isformational. >> So move second. >> Have a motion by Mr. Burgerer, seconded by Mr. Clark. Is there any discussion? All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. >> Moving on
021to curriculum. Dr. Howard. >> Good evening. Tonight I am seeking approval of item 11B. So move second. Have a >> motion by Mr. Walters, seconded by Mrs. Hopeley. Is there any discussion? All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. >> Under operations, Dr. Howard. >> Um, I'm also seeking approval of item 12A. >> So move. >> Second. >> I have a motion by Mr. Clark, seconded by Mr. Walters. Is there any discussion? All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. >> Okay. Uh the building reports from each of the buildings are attached. Uh and again, great things happening in each of the buildings. A lot of excitement in the air obviously as we're approaching uh
022the final stretch for the school year. So, a lot of fun activities, a lot of uh excitement, especially for our seniors uh among others. But yeah, definitely um take a chance to look at that information. Moving on from there, uh, business management, uh, Mrs. Tammy SM. >> Good evening. Tonight I'm requesting approval of items 14B through 14M. Items 14N through 14P areformational. >> So move second. >> Motion by Mr. Walters, seconded by Mr. Burgerer. Is there any discussion? >> We're talking about 14. >> Yeah. >> So Oh, thank you. Okay. for so I just have questions with the contracts for the NWE replacements. This is just so it's clarified because it just wasn't clear when working session. Um this is just pertaining to NWE K through2. >> Correct. We use NWA um map growth for
023uh K to Keystone. So that's up to the basically well it goes up through the high school and K2 uses math reading fluency. It's just a K2 program. So we are still using NWA but that one component that we used at K2. We are no longer going to use that. >> Okay. Because we have um we're spending new on Seesaw Renaissance Aadians keys to literacy. Seesaw we already use and it is their uh it's like their Google classroom but it's elementary age. So it's we've always had it. It's how the teachers communicate with parents. >> Okay. Thank you. And in working session you said that they had agreed to give credit to us. >> Correct. >> If I could word it that way. >> Correct. >> Okay. So then the other programs are going to
024cost us about 45,800 and rising when we get done with buying the new programs for the reading the it it's um >> no the program that we're buying it is um it replaces coach. So let me Acadian replaces Matt Fluency and that is a screener, >> right? >> And then Lolo is replacing coach which gives each child um reading at their level. >> Okay. So we just have the exposure for that monies. we are going to get some credit but I just I just didn't understand how the data was collected that dropped NWA when we just saw a report of the scores and we were ongoing because we're on the right track it's K to2 I know you're talking about that >> but the scores that you saw were not related to this part of
025the program at all >> you saw the benchmarking scores >> okay um because yes I was just concerned with that um because I didn't know why all of a sudden we weren't going to use this instead of use this and drop it and then pick up all the other ones so quickly. So, I don't know what data was you relied on how you collected it. >> I'm sorry. No, no, go ahead. >> We are using the data that you saw um at the academic um presentation. We are continuing to use that program that is benchmarking that we show where our students are at the beginning of the year, the middle of the year, and the end of the year in um ELA, math, and science. We will use that. We continue to use that and
026it does give us great data. Okay, this is just K to2 and I'm sorry I'm repeating myself but I am K to2 reading a phonics >> reading map reading fluency >> reading fluency okay um because I I'm just concerned with how fast we switch what data we relied on and we are going to use NWA till the end of the year >> we're going to some areas >> we are going to use reading map fluency and coach Okay. And um I just had concerns because of all the questions we had with NWA because we who originally recommended it and now we're re recommending these replacements so fast and the cost with all the licenses. I don't know if there's any more additional costs that are going to be coming out of this and um ready
027to learn is paying for all this. >> Correct. >> Yes. Um, I'm just worried about any long-term expenses that if ready ready to learn is masking over anything. Not that you're doing, not that anything's being done with uh, smoking mirrors. Um, I just had a question over that. >> And then we are still using NWA for science and math >> and ELA and reading >> and ELA. Correct. Um >> so NWA is a big umbrella and then under that umbrella they have different programs that you can use >> right >> the big program for benchmarking we're going to continue to use it we like it we like the data that it's giving us one little part of it that we switched we had a cadence before >> and we thought moving forward when we bought
028these programs let's just keep it all together >> when we bought NWEA all of it >> correct and after using it it is not what we thought it was going to be for us. So our teachers have used Aadians once. >> We used the map reading fluency and coach this year and then we also piloted a program called Waggle. I went back to the teachers and the majority of the teachers wanted to go back to Aadians and with act 47 by the 2728 school year I must have a screener that's a screener and a uh an intervention plan and a cadence would be that screener that we would use. >> So that sliver of NWA wasn't matching us to be able to act for the new act that was coming in. >> It could be.
029It could be. I don't know. It has to be approved by PTE. Acadians is a huge program. It >> I'm sure it's going to be on it. And we're partnering with the IU with Acadians. Um the one part that we were using from NWA was a new product for them. >> So I don't think it had the when I think something's new, you work out the kinks, >> right? >> And it just was new and it didn't work for us. And because of the new act coming in, we you just whoever identified it and came together then the teachers said this isn't going to be successful for the new act. >> No, nobody said that. No, no, no. >> Cuz I just can't understand how you flip so fast. >> I I don't think it
030was fast. No, it wasn't >> because the teachers were concerned about it to begin with and we went on for six months with it >> with NWA. >> I >> that's a feedback we heard. >> That's not that's from the last meeting. >> No, they they identified it. >> Yeah. >> Two weeks ago, what you saying? >> Yeah. Well, months ago, actually. >> Two weeks. >> They didn't like the program coming in, so I just didn't know how it flipped so fast. >> But we're moving on. You have the new program. Um, >> I didn't get the feedback that they didn't like it from prior to the >> Yeah, our teachers actually really like NWA, Madonna K2. We're using it's really giving us great data and they're showing growth. >> I didn't I didn't hear
031that. >> The one little part of it they could deliver. They they made promises they couldn't deliver on. >> Well, that's not really true. >> Well, >> that that's what Mr. Pompeo said. >> The contract they delivered what they said they would deliver in the contract, but it wasn't giving us the rich data that we really wanted and it wasn't very easy for us to use. >> Okay. Um then the only other question I have for that part of it is there any way we get reimbursement for that training last June 2025 for the conference? >> We are still using that part of NWA. Okay. Um then the Renaissance contract, it's training is fully budgeted and is there any other costs that we're going to need? >> Not right now, but as we move forward,
032we continue. It's Lilo. We've used Lilo in the past >> and it's three years we're going to be using this and we're paying for it. I think I saw the contract that >> Okay. So, um, we we replaced one system and immediately committed nearly 90,000 in new spending. And transparency to me is unclear. I probably have to look at it some more, but it's unclear in the data justification and the unknown long-term costs. So we to and to me we are making fast decisions with slow accountability and the tax bay taxpayers want deserve to need to know more and with the decisions with the data supported and why we're spending tens of thousands more right after abandoning the last system I understand what you're telling me um but just in a general statement um I'll
033save that till the end. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> And I just want to add on my side. I I don't think it's so much as a fast decision as it's it's I I enjoy that we're identifying a problem early and I appreciate that because that's always the best time to identify a problem, make a change of that's kind >> and we and I will just say this, we meet monthly with the the K2 team and we have been talking about this. So this been multiple conversations. I can't say enough great things about the K to2 teachers and um the department chairs down there and the reading specialists. We really rely on what they tell us. They are the experts at PVE and this is really what they need to do
034their job and it took a lot of time. They put hours into this. So I do appreciate what they've done and I don't feel like it was fast and I feel we're supporting our teachers with what they want. >> And just to confirm the portion of the contract that we're no longer going to be using, we are not going to be obligated to pay for that. Is that correct? >> No, we're >> This is year one of what? Year three. >> They're actually giving us $42,000 back, which they don't have to do, but they are. >> Okay. And this still involves the leveling program, too. K1 and two. >> That's not a program. That's just how we grip students. >> Yes. Is that still continuing with these? >> Yes. >> Okay. all the >> there's
035a question on um >> oh Janet Jun just very quickly and this is just in addressing under contracts 9 and 10 the under under arour and the BSN and thank you for walking me through this because it was a learning curve um we've been using BSN and as far as with the Under Armour exclusive apparel that we'll be signing on to it's the uniform apparel and and I think that we're going to be working towards more explanations with this in the future with our boosters and all sports club. But just thank you because the rewards side of this is actually the rewards that we'll be bringing money back to the district by using the contract. So, thank you. >> Correct. You're welcome. >> All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >>
036Anyone opposed? >> And that motion carries. >> I am also requesting approval of item 15B and 15B. Yeah, it's 15B3. We're good. >> You're good. >> So move second. >> Motion by Mr. Burgerer, seconded by Mr. Walters. Is there any discussion? >> All those in favor, please signify by saying I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? And that motion carries. Under new business. Anything? Mr. Fitzgerald? >> No new business this evening. >> Okay. Pleasant Valley citizens, is there anything anybody would like to discuss this evening? If so, please come to the podium. Uh, state your name, township you reside in. >> Okay. Seeing no one approach, we will move on. Uh, Pleasant Valley school directors, does anyone have anything this evening? >> Yes. I' I'd like to comment on the display of the poems that are
037on the back side by the bulletin board. >> Yeah. Um, I thank the teachers who and par prof professionals who submitted uh their poems to to to be evaluated. Uh, if you haven't had a chance to go read them, um, it's impressive. I I I I thank all of the all of our staff who took the time to put the effort in, but it's clear we've got a lot of creative people out there and I'm glad we have them in in our school district. Thank you. >> Could we um maybe post them to Facebook or poems? >> Yeah, absolutely. I would I I would also suggest that if they publish bare facts that uh that might be an item that would be useful to demonstrate to our students at large as as well as to
038the public. >> I will reach out to Mr. Milton >> uh the the value of uh what our teachers can do in our pair of professionals. Thank you. >> Absolutely. >> Yep. I just have Oh, anybody else? I had just one quick comment that held off. So, it's a general statement to the constituents. It's just like as we have always asked for. Please reach out to us with the emails and I know Dr. Conrad has a space on the uh district page. Make sure you answer ask send in comments, send in questions because not everybody can come because everybody's very busy getting our students where they need to be, sports and academics, etc. And then even getting here is even hard because of babysitting. It's just that it's just so important that we need to
039hear from you and your voice matters and your questions matter and we will um review them um individually if you send them to the school board. Uh we can bring it forward also and to anybody because we really need to hear from you. It's very important moving this district forward that we know what you need, what you want, and what you care about and questions um because It's busy. Your lives are busy and you are committed to the community and your input is critical. So, please take a moment to email us your questions and concerns because we are listening and we value your engagement. >> I'm going to put you on the spot, Miss Presby. Um, the poems, if I could ask if we can share them with this education subcommittee for the Monroe County
040PA250. I'm at the secretary for that subcommittee and if Norm could actually help us with compiling. I've asked all of the school districts to give us a list of the things that they have done so that with history commissioner Lavender Lavador will have a history of what has happened. So I'd like to take that to the sub next subcommittee meeting. >> I can um I know that uh Mrs. Franklin and Mr. or have worked on a press release uh with things that have been happening with America 250 and I know that they're finishing up the video um that Mrs. Fields been working on with all the buildings that should be finished up I'd say this week but not but maybe by next week so we could share that as well with everything across the district
041and the middle school is filled with projects right now that the kids have completed for America 250. So >> thank you. any any I'm just trying to if I as I compile my notes for that subcommittee we'll keep history of it for commissioner prior to >> we we can share the release that they've been working on >> um question Dr. Conrad. >> Yes. >> How's the bus wrapping going? >> Any any >> updates? >> Yeah. So, uh beyond some texts uh this past weekend and a visual of what the wrapping could look like, um I know that our team has reached out to um several uh local companies to see if they would be interested in, you know, potential sponsorship. Um, part of that challenge too was just making sure that, you know, for a
042student who's donating, I think around a $45,000 bus, um, you know, and to use for the competitions at no charge. Uh, you know, they're, um, using a local vendor, uh, for the RAP itself, you know, getting a discount from them and looking to split the cost between, uh, both first student and also the district, potentially using, you know, grant money for uh, for this opportunity. I know we have reached out to some local businesses to see um you know if they're interested in advertising that would actually help reduce the I think it would be $3,000 or so that we would um have to pay towards the wrapping. But you know again through some of my comments that you think about just this incredible blue bus driving down the highway. You know it's exposure for Pleasant
043Valley School District athletics. Um obviously we have it for other activities FBLA competitions when they go to states. So, I I think there's a great opportunity. I I don't know, Mrs. Mel, if you've maybe gotten any um you know, feedback from uh people that are interested in taking that next step, but I I I'm definitely putting it out there that um if there are local businesses that would want to engage and maybe advertise, that would be a really great way to um highlight your business. And obviously, the exposure is pretty uh unique uh and and something that we want to engage in. So, I didn't have anybody reach back out to me for um the advertising. Um I did not get an answer from First Student yet because it is their bus. >> Sure. >>
044Um I did get answers to Mr. Walters's questions from our working session. Um it is a 2015 bus. They are donating it to the district. It's going to sit in that lot unless it's running an athletic or championship or run, which is not going to be a lot. Um Yes. And yes, if that if the bus the life of a bus is 20 years and yes, if that bus would break down and could not be repaired, yes, they would donate another one, but yes, they would be looking for the district to split the new wrapping with them. Okay. You're welcome. >> So, if I'm understanding correctly, we're looking for a sponsor for half of excuse me, half of the cost of the wrap, right? >> Yes. And no. I I need to get an answer
045from First Student. It's their bus, >> right? Okay. >> So, I need to find out from >> if they'll even allow us to do that. >> Correct. Because now Bay Image gave a discount, >> right, >> on the wrapping because they're going to be on the back >> of the bus. >> Um, so I just need to get an answer from First Student if they're going to allow other people to advertise to cover that $3,200. >> If they, let's say, they do not allow anyone else. So it would be for student bay image. Then the district would have to if we wanted to move forward with this would need three thou around >> $3,200. Yes. >> 3200 $3,300. Okay, I understand better. For some reason, I missed something there. Sorry. >> And we would actually
046uh be able to tap into grants um if we need to go down that path. So that way it's not uh you know something that the taxpayers would you know have to foot the bill for. So we do have that avenue which again is is something for us to really consider and we talked about what I think two years or three years what in terms of longevity a number of years it's not just a one year kind of situation is that right Mrs. No, >> the life of this bus that they're donating, we should get another 10 year. We should get 10 years out of this bus. >> 10. Wow. Okay. I didn't realize that. Thank you. >> As for the wrapping, how it holds up to the weather. I don't know the answer to
047that question. >> Hey, image does great work. So, I'm just uh I'll say it like that, but >> can I ask a question? Sorry about the about the bus. >> So, other school district use it for use uses it for runs and they would just rotate it through the year. Why are we not able to do that? Um, the way the wrapping is that it go how it goes on the windows and the flashing lights, the way the wrapping is going to be on it, it would not be you wouldn't be able to use it for home to school. >> Yeah. >> If you're going to stop and pick up a student or drop a student off has a better answer. >> It wouldn't be legal. >> Oh. Oh. Oh. Because of the windows. >>
048Windows are covered. There's certain things that >> Department of Transportation has highly specific requirements for what a bus. I'm trying to think the other five districts I looked at, they uh I don't think they had the windows like that wrapping is. Okay, that answers my question. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Anyone else? Okay, Dr. Krabat. >> Yep. Um so this evening we had an opportunity to do a ribbon cutting ceremony at the stadium. Uh so I first want to thank um First Northern Bank and Trust. They sponsored our uh new brand new digital scoreboard. It's really exciting. I mean, if you haven't had a chance to see it, definitely um you know, come to a uh girls lacrosse game, you know, any other spring sports. It's really, really neat to see. Um we've just started tapping
049into some of the functionality of the board. But the exciting piece of it as well is the fact that um we have some digital media uh courses that students can engage in to help even create content or make their kind of um uh visions come to life. and using the uh giant board as a platform for that. So, it's exciting to see what opportunities exist. Um it's exciting for students to you know tap into that digital uh media and and um uh educational opportunities as well. I know one of the things that we've talked about in our uh cabinet meetings too is just protecting our investment. And what I mean by that is uh you know it is something brand new. It's something very exciting. But I do think we have to be very intentional
050about um you know who is going to use it. Are they properly trained? Uh we cannot just allow you know outside groups to just come in plug and play. It's not that simple. Uh so I think that there's going to be some further discussions about um you know how our community could potentially engage and then who's technically trained to operate the scoreboard. Uh so that way it really lasts the duration of which we expect. So that's all just really excited for that. Um excited for the end of the school year. Obviously I know a lot of students are maybe counting down the days and hours. Who knows? Uh but it's really uh just exciting to see. I know we're uh on track. I just looked at our scholarship numbers for our seniors and that is
051looking very healthy. So that's exciting to uh see. And uh you know compliments to the uh high school team and the counseling department and the students for for uh you know looking for these opportunities to make it uh fiscally reasonable uh for families to pursue post-secondary opportunities and scholarships. So um good luck for all of our students and uh I know we have one more board meeting before graduation. So I don't want to get you know too emotional but it's really an exciting time and let's keep the excitement going and let's make good decisions because I know that uh people get excited in the warm weather. Let's, you know, parents, we could use your help to remind students. Let's, uh, you know, keep on the up and up and make good decisions and, uh, have
052a very safe, uh, end of the school year. So, that's all. Thank you everyone and go Bears. >> Is there one more highlight? Is there one more highlight from states? >> Congratulations. >> There there were. Yes. I thank you very much. You want Why don't you take that one? >> I'll take one. You take one. >> You can. So, congrat congratulations to the PVFBLA students who placed in the top five that now qualify for nationals. There's two teams. Um, >> no, I have to go back. >> Do you have the names? >> I have to go back. >> Sorry. I I apologize. It's uh really prestigious. There was 6,600 people there and the total number of people there were 7,000 competitors. It was um the highest one ever and the results were tremendous. Um and
053Pleasant Valley uh performed well. >> Yes, we had uh let's see, we had Avery Kogan, fourth place in digital media, Valerie Roin uh fourth place in healthcare administration, and um let's see, uh Nicole uh Madro and Zachary Snook uh fifth uh sorry, fifth place in uh coding and programming. And again, some of those students moving on to nationals. We wish them the best of luck. I think nationals is where in oh San Antonio, Texas. So that is pretty exciting. It's definitely going to be hot, but uh enjoy it. And obviously, you know, we're starting to create a legacy, which is really cool that um our students are really competing at the national level. So kudos to our uh high school students, obviously their parents, obviously the teachers, and all the supports that they have. Um,
054you know, it's exciting to see us uh at at not only competing at that high state level, but also on the national uh level as well. So, let's uh wish them good luck and uh you know, they're going to make us proud. I guarantee it. So, um that's all. >> Thanks. >> Okay. Thank you. All right. Could I have a motion to adjourn? So, >> move second. >> All All in favor? >> All right. We are journed. Safe travels home, everyone. So, this is what they're doing.
