Here is an interview with Miss Vogle, the eighth grade science teacher. We'll be discussing the lunar moon that's happening tonight. Today, I'm interviewing Miss Vogle about the lunar eclipse happening March 3rd. Okay. >> Okay. What causes us to have a lunar eclipse? >> Well, when the Earth's shadow covers up the moon, basically whenever you have the sun and then the Earth and the Moon, the Moon um will move into the path of the shadow of the Earth. >> Oh, okay. Um my second question for you is what's the difference between a normal like blood and the lunar eclipse that's coming up? So the blood moon eclipse that's coming up on March 3rd is
002the fact that the atmosphere of the Earth will affect the color of the moon. So instead of it being the regular bright moon and in its shadows, the light refracts through the atmosphere of the Earth and that causes us to see it as red. So, at 2:43 a.m. March 3rd, early in the morning, it will start and then it will end up total eclipse at uh 5:03 and then for about an hour and a half, you'll be able to see the bright blood moon. So, the moon will be red instead of its normal yellowish color. >> Okay. Well, I guess that answers my third question, too. I was going to ask how long it lasts, but like an hour and 30 minutes, you said, right? >> Okay. Thank you guys for watching. Today I will
003be doing a story about the lunar moon. But I have three fun facts. Fun fact number one is in 1835 the New York newspaper published a series of artifacts claiming that the astronaut the honores had discovered life on the moon on the moon. Fun fact number two. In a 1902 film, A Trip to the Moon by George Miller Famously shows a rocket hitting the moon in the eyes. Fun fact number three. NA NASA is working on sending astronauts back to the moon with the astronaut team. That's all. Today is World Wildlife Day. This day was made in 1973. This day also includes plants and things that live in the ocean. Fun fact one. This day was official in 1973 March 3rd. Fun fact two. This day aims to celebrate beauty and diversity of wild flora
004and fauna. Fun fact three. This day helps raise awareness about wildlife. >> Today's birthday person is happy birthday. Today there's a high of 67 and a low of 41. Don't have a good day.
