hello chris cooper superintendent of clearwater schools here with a brief video update it's been a great start to our school year we've had a couple of days with students and that brought a lot of positive energy into the building so it was fun to be with staff earlier in the week but awesome to have everybody back on board the last couple of days i did actually see a couple of teachers look like they might be a little tired this afternoon when i visited some classrooms but overall uh just lots of good positive energy out there in the buildings excited about the things we can do this year some of those things we haven't been able to do for the last couple of years so uh really excited about those with on that note i want

to encourage you to come visit us come to the schools if you'd like to check in in the office give a call especially like at elementary west if you want to come have lunch with your child we invite you to call the office and set that up do some things maybe we haven't been able to do in the last couple years as i mentioned overall a good start but there are always some glitches we have some hiccups and getting everybody in the right spot and systems appreciate all of our bus drivers yesterday taking the time to to get those kiddos home safe even if some of it was a little detour i also want to thank all the staff who worked all summer to get our buildings in the amazing shape buildings and grounds in

amazing shape we always get compliments on how incredible our buildings looking it's doing large parts to the maintenance and custodial staff that takes care of those things all summer long i mentioned a few glitches on the tech technology side we always expect a few glitches but we we did have some this year that i want to apologize for and one is that we said that you would be able to make payments online or come in and make a credit and debit card with glitches with the company that provides that and our tech system we've not been able to get that up and running yet it's being worked on evening even as i speak and i have hopes that by the time you're watching this this it's ready to go we will send out an email

uh letting you know when that that online payment is ready and apologize for this delay i want you to know we're not going to not let kids come because they haven't paid fees and we're also not going to prevent kids from eating meals because they don't have any balance until we get this up and going and we get get everything back to normal so don't worry about that if you don't have a lunch balance send your kid to school anyway we'll make sure and take care of that i know secretaries were out and principal's working to make sure kids knew that and that we could go ahead and eat i want uh mentioning talking about lunches and meals make sure you fill out the free and reduced lunch application if you feel like you have

any chance of qualifying or if you'd like to do that it also applies to can be applied to reduced or free fees for school one important reminder i want to let you know about we have late starts on mondays just like we did last year but if you're new you might not be aware of that on mondays everything happens a half an hour later to start school so the buses run a half an hour later we have breakfast a half an hour later school starts half an hour later so 30 minute late start on monday just wanted everybody to to be reminded of that i mentioned we get to do a lot of fun stuff this year that maybe we haven't done the last couple years tonight's the high school pool party so if you

go by the city pool you might see a bunch of high schoolers out there excited to see the belly flop contest i hear we have some pretty important judges coming to take care of that that's really all i have for today i just want to remind you of the first part of our vision that we're really going to focus on this year and that's clearwater usd 264. one team one family and one district so we're going to try to intentionally do a lot of things to come together to with students staff and our community parents everyone involved this year so that's all i have for today this mr cooper signing off work hard have fun and be your best self
