hello chris cooper here superintendent of clearwater schools with a brief video update i haven't done one of these in quite some time and quite honestly it's been nice to not have covet and need to put out a whole bunch of updates and just kind of have some regular things happening but we do have a few things i'd like to make you aware of first of all this has been teacher appreciation week staff appreciation week and i just want to publicly let everybody know how much i appreciate our staff and how honored i am to be able to to work with the great people we have in usd 264. we did have some some extreme challenges earlier in the year with coven and then once that was over we had normal challenges so we have had

our share of things to overcome and i really appreciate everybody coming together working as a family and working to do what's best for kids as our district mission statement says usd 264 is one team one family one district where all students reach their full potential and are well equipped to be successful so that's really what we want to do we want to continue to come together as a community as a staff and do what's best for kids so i do appreciate all the work our staff has done if you're a parent grandpa parent neighbor community member and you feel led to i'd encourage you to send an email text anything to our staff and just let them know also how much you appreciate the work that they do for the students in our schools and

for our community so greatly appreciated we do want to finish strong uh continue to come together we have lots of activities going on graduations of course but lots of spring activities are we have some really successful teams this spring in our sports and uh all kinds of different activities everything from the success our music performing groups had at contests to to the ball field so lots of good stuff going on one thing i did want to mention is our kindergarten enrollment we've had kindergarten roundup we've done some outreach but we still believe there might be some kinder kindergarten kiddos out there that we are not aware of so if you know of a neighbor relative friend that will have a kindergartner for next year we would encourage you to ask them to call the school

office make sure we have them on our roster and that we're ready to go when they show up in the fall the number to our elementary school office is 620-584-2081 that's 620-584-2081 one other change that you should have received an email about that we have coming for next year is that not every student will receive paid lunches so for the last two years because of some coveted relief funds from the federal government all schools have had free lunches for all kids we're going to go back to the way it was three years ago where we'll have a form to fill out to receive free or reduced lunches i would encourage all folks to do that that think they might be in that ballpark there's some other benefits to our school also when you fill out

that form and but then everyone else will um be on a paid lunch so just wanted people to be prepared for that we will send out more information about that as enrollment comes next fall as i said lots of great things going on in our district lots of activities it's a busy time of year it's kind of a whirlwind i encourage everybody to celebrate this time to continue to come together as a community as a family and i just want to say finishing my second year of school here i'm very thankful to be in clearwater and it's a privilege to serve this community that's all i have for today this mr cooper signing off have fun work hard and be your best self
