hello chris cooper here with a brief video update it's been a while since i've done one of these and in this case it is true that no news is good news so on the coveted front we have some really good news have some other uh great news too it's nice to have some topics that don't center around cove at 19. but as i mentioned good news about our coven 19 numbers for the first time in several months yesterday and today we have had zero students out for any covered reasons for quarantine or positives and zero staff out so it's great to see those numbers the county continues to trend well our zip code didn't have any positives last week as well that being said we are still moving forward with our mitigation measures to make

sure we can end this year strong i wanted to let you know that we are having parent conferences uh thursday evening and friday morning this week if you're a parent and you have not heard about those please reach out to your school tomorrow because we have tried to communicate about those conferences and what those will look like this year in a virtual world also if you're not aware i'm sure you are because your kids have reminded you we start our spring break on friday no school on friday and then the following week is spring break hopefully every student can get out and enjoy some some kansas spring weather we've also started a kindergarten roundup and enrollment for next year so if you know of anybody that has a kindergartner please let them know to visit

our website to find out information about how they can get their kiddos signed up to be with us next year some exciting news from our art department at clearwater high school our students at clearwater high school several of them entered an arts show from fringe university and our school was the total points winner so we won the art show competing against schools from across the state most of them much larger than us congratulations to many winners that we had and especially to lauren lebo who is the recipient of a fifteen thousand dollar scholarship through that art show so great work there we did wrap up our winter sports season last night some great success our boys basketball team were runners-up for sub state our girls basketball team won sub state and unfortunately were knocked out

of the state tournament last night at andale but a great season by both those teams and i also want to shout out to the band the cheerleaders our our youth section when we were able to have uh students show up and to our crowd for for the effort that everyone put in this year it was really great the last boys game and girls game of the season were both away and our crowd outnumbered and out cheered the home crowd where we're at so really impressed with the pride and the support that our community showed for those teams great work so with that spring sports are underway getting headed in into that direction uh just a reminder uh one change the calendar coming up yet this spring that wasn't on the original calendar is april 19th

will be an in-service day for teachers and no students will be on site at that day so i want to keep it brief pass on the good news uh with our covered numbers and we're excited to continue uh cranking on i know when we get back from spring break things are going to just be a blur and will be to the end of school so as always reach out if you have any questions good things are happening in clearwater schools hope to continue to get a chance to meet more of our community and learn more about the wonderful things going on here take care
