Trustes in This was Texas. Audience members also Items action on your home. So vision fostering excellence and opportunities action to implement strategic methods of effective instruction while pursuit of divorce will be able to accomplish item number two.12 try not to be too. Okay. So the first um goal one the percentage of third grade students and meet or grade level will increase from 53% in August of 2023 to 63% from August of 2028 and this particular goals were higher performance right after that And this is foresific. So for GPM you'll see that for this particular GPM we were focused on kindergarten students and this is basically where they started the year. So basically the end of the year when we tested them in class there were 15% of our students that were and by the time
we tested them again for middle of the year you'll see that our target was 50% and we exceeded that target 58% putting us on track to these questions because there were some questions so and most likely exceed our target for let's go to the next particular targeting and our base is 72% answers question this 72% is the percent of particip the same group of students when they kindergarten before the beginning of the year. you'll see that that it looks like there's a but it's a totally new set of standards. They're just now requiring for the first time in third grade. However, you'll see that that increase that we exceeded our target. So, we went from 25 to 52 which puts us on track at the end of the year. Now at 72 to 74 those
were set for five year and the method that was utilized was to increase by about two percentage points for each area. So that was just that team before being utilizing that again. And then we're talking about second grade. So again that 53 represented they said this same set of students when they were in first grade so they left so 53% of our first graders left or above but the flip side of that is 47% of them were so these are some of those conversations that really is that weren't happening that shouldn't because what about first grade and we sent them to second grade. So now my second grade teacher is responsible for 100% of their learners but almost half of those students are local. Now the good news is 42% of the students they're quick
at and we move the deal just a little bit from our target which definitely puts us on track orch 55 I'm just going to say I'm not comfortable with 45% third grade so there is a push and that's urgency for us to exceed that it's so important because this is what's on track on track again to make sure they get ready So this particular goal at third grade look4254 again and then this year we're staying at 68%. So let's look at what we got. You see we started at work in 2023 and we had that tremendous dip and then went down again. So for 2026 we'll be assessing them at the beginning of the school year. Our target is 17% but only 13% of our students. So we're not too far off the target but
again you guys think about percentage of students. We do have data and we're analyzing it. We're dissecting any kind of turn report. So we want to change the sign increase. We're showing about a 6% increase which from the opportunity to close. Yes, that's right. Yes, ma'am. Okay. I forgot but it's okay if you don't have it right now. So 19% >> Dr. I'm just curious this class. That's okay. I think you were here at the time that classific It's the second class. >> Yeah. I want this is just3 group of students but third grade in general. These are each year is a different set of student. So this is not the same students from 2025. Those students are in fourth grade right now. So pain is about Now we probably going over but in every
grade level every subject we've seen this type. So it's just it's not one isolated class. It's it was a systemic issue that just secondary question. So these are all for 1.1 and I kind of answer some of them but I can broken up as the question. So the first one is number one. So number one in your head is number one. So, how many first graders and how many first grade classes do we have? So, we provide those numbers for you to first graders. We have three first grade classes. All of our first grade one teacher teaching everything. What is the most challenging are that's why this is an initiative for this state of Texas and that's why there's a whole bill isolated magazine students are struggling in early literacy. There's a whole house that
was passed that mandates district. And so impact helps us assess these foundational skills which are fluency awareness that we probably don't even remember that we learned when we were five years old. And so what we're find is that first graders are struggling with identifying letter sounds correctly within seconds because times the students on how fast they can struggling to go back over and over again. If you're not getting those numbers where we said we're sending each year, we're sending a certain percentage of students that we're So I can't remember how the first one was 72. So we had 27% and then the next year was even larger. Um, somebody was 50 45% there's a large number of percentage of students that went to first grade second grade and second grade I think right now in
second grade. So that we're creating right now with so that in gather I want you to get better. Okay. kindergarten 58%. So first readers next identified We said 58% we said how many students are 42% and we identified 19 students that are still below grade level and the team elementary school are identifying specific for those students so weap students that were still below and creating students. The amazing thing about the reason that we like it so much is that not only does it help us identify this type of students, it gives us it also creates pathways. specific lessons that these particular students are going to be following. That's what the pathway to get on track system also is a system that will shut down student are so now it's not we have access to this
in the past Yes, we did. But that doesn't mean that the best for it is an expectation that we're using. So the next one we still have four question. Okay. So I think I answer that. So we're currently at 19 18% right here for third grade and we administer that assessment on paper. So that's already answered that yes we have the data but we didn't have it before we submitted this the second Question number one from 15 to 58 compared to 70 students and so I spoke to that remember these students are learning these skills for the first time and we're truly we anticipate that 70% of our students will that we're really exactly like those You're learning those new skills for them. Is that not mentioned on the skills that they should know at
that point in terms of that? So I'm not exactly sure but let me think make sure questions you want to know in class the program goes in and says by this time in school kindergart it's not like it's not like you don't have administering start what I will say is that in class in itself is a reference assessment. So yes, it does say that a 5year-old that is in school around this time frame should know this, but it's basing it on the comparison that it's saying compared to others of Texas should be a reference. norm assessment, not a teach assessment. So it doesn't take sequence and say, "Okay, you covered these particular topics and units, so we're going to assess you on those topics and units." It doesn't do that. There's no way to prepare
for class or class, so our students need to be able to succeed on these particular topics, if that makes sense. Does that enter? So yes, in a sense it does say this time, but it's not based on the teeth or our sequence. Did you want to add question? >> I just want to add that gives us composite score. And so it says score should be the different. So the student should just benchmark number and so that basically I get that composite number that they're saying they need to get based on friends are norm. So they again taking wherey, six year olds, whatever should be and they say here's where everybody should be around this time in their study and their life journey. And so we want to see how your circul Oh, okay. So, so
basically what we're saying is our teachers are being intentional about making sure students have the skills that they need and but it's based on the teach. So, we want one of the ways that we're doing that is that teachers have to know their content in order to be able to teach. So, to take a teach and break it down to determine by the time this lesson what are they supposed to know and be able to show as a teacher if I enter the lesson with that understanding now I'm better equipped to go deeper in my teaching to make sure that every use the the knowledge about what the standard is that they get from the student to write the chart. So on this side it says number on this side and they go through theyidents
what are the words and the skills that the students need to knowledge. So some of it just say number instructor like that. If you go to the very top of question and first move from 72% baseline to 25% grade and then second grade that 25% to the future or significant lower The student said to% go back and so build awareness to build these foundational skills that we're the push to exceed students last question number three was that 24% already activities so low percentage points and we're using benchmark. So now your question that you asked earlier about what the students at the time so for third and fifth grade students had not been taught but they still We're still learning, but we're assessing that idea based on what we have. All right. The truth. by trustee.
on your fingers. 3.2 and 5.1 attempt. Okay, let's get into it. Okay, so this particular guard says superintendent shall not allow to fail to identify validate appropriate services to students with disabilities or special education services under the indiv. So the very first garden rail progress measure 3.1 is talking about potential students who are receiving educational services and then the second garden progress measure 3.2 is talking about evaluate students who have been for special services. All right. So let's go to the next slide. So you'll find that we've broken this data down and second. So the first items and second are reported there for you. And we did see levels well there were great levels that were not being that their beds were not being met. And so that's primarily in the first nine weeks at
seventh through 12th grade. In the second nine weeks, we closed that gap just a little bit. We did see a dip from above 100% in fifth grade and still 100% through 12th grade with the exception of saw. So I was like, so I did contact our special education director and she was so gracious um to meet with our principal to really talk through the why, what's happening, what's going on. And so they work together. We still got some work to do. However, they did meet that they worked together to identify some of the requirements. One of the things that came up for teacher and so I was very specific about no teachers are absent or not if it is written in their individualized education plan. We are accountable for being those no questions, no excuses.
Um, and so we understand and everybody understands that when we see this report, we're going to get%. We might not be all 100% but we're going to be at 100% because that is required of us and I'll answer the question there was one question on this one soific So why% is they analyzed and they saw that there were three sessions particular students one student had two sections and another student had one section. Um but we also felt that we need to dig a little deeper and actually look at the specific laws. Right now we have our inclusion teachers and inclusion filling out inclusion law of this. So right now we are going through those actually to see where we found the way and we may report this differently next time because right now it says
that we have 125%. But what it doesn't tell you is that we got 60 students being 50 of those students were at 100% or 50 of those students were at 15 to 150% of their but it didn't tell you there were 10. So now you're looking at it and you see and it looks like we met. So when we start a little we say some of those still% is getting 100% of their um their services. I hope that pulled out that personalities. However that has been rectified that we identif There's no important important to me and it's important to all of our team. I have confident 100% of the students are 100% of their services. Okay. It says the totals for grade level. So this shows you how many students the total number of students
that were being recommended for evaluations and where they are on their classes. So for you just pre the initial value evaluations and we have the arms and we completed them within the compiance which is the specificity of that particular guard rail. We do have a total of seven students who were one of them. Okay. One of them is pending sign from the parent to give us consent to test the student and then the other one is pending the evaluation consent. So that's how you read that. So in essence 100% action has been taken to us. We had 132 numbered. But if there's legacy ins could be you know speech and Another area that we can start in the at first grade in early data we're going to say okay intervention right we're going to refer
them for intervention if they need so they can group okay at this point where is attendance also they're not there but for the most part where we're going to refer we're also going to miss a lot so we'll go back and that's what we've done those referrals actually all of them are from last year's end of year right So when we get a referral, it takes time to make and then the evaluation timeline. Sometimes those fall of the next school year. So those were carried over from last year. So we're still waiting on the middle of your review, right? Every year we get to one process. So that's something to see what we know. I haven't yet. So I'm not curious to see what we'll be answer this So that is the end of the
attendance recorder. Yes. So the superintendent shall not allow superintendents to go to address from.94% which is weekend with monthly update is provided. So this month we talk about everyone. So you will see first nine weeks, second nine weeks and then the first nine weeks but of those campuses and two board members ask2 Um, so I'll come back to that in a second. So go to the next the district. So like for us to look at it as a district first 93 2027 with 216 26 down PC So each week increase 19 256 there is an increase from 25 to 26 there is and I want you home in the a real progress major. That's what I got here and I'm making that week is your Christmas break. And so what we found last year is
you didn't have that day at the end right before Christmas righties were. So that was one thing that helped us increase. And then the second thing is we got together and we um create a proactive incentives the weeks before that Christmas break to get our students here and we believe that the below 20°. So the question two questions basically says what was the main cause of this discre this decrease then the other one is talking about patterns that we're seeing across campuses so let's talk about patterns first as a district we're seeing patterns around holidays around weather and around um holidays or not holidays Like in a diplom and of course the weather if it's raining if it's freezing you kept your kids home. But those are some of the trends and patterns that we're
seeing. Another big one again. 22 for just week 22 that Monday. We had the warm center set up. looking at the numbers going down and we decided to start on that Monday our 67% and that wasn't justific I reach out to everybody specifically to this was after the call that morning. So every morning our team come on both campuses for students to try. So even in addition to that we did another call out specifically to the student and our attendance went from the second day. So I had to miss both Monday and Tuesday by Wednesday for the rest of the week. However, we couldn't come for that first day. So that's why the team did work harder to try to get it because this way. We had 67% of our students show that first that
was 67% more educated 67% more students that we would have educated if we would let them stay at home. In addition to the next miss we just stay at home and we know a lot of our students come to school for you know all the things that Dr. the the second and all of the things that provide for our students. So any comments? So I hear item number 3.1 semester. service made by secondy trustee and trust. I have too many. This is just August and then email. I read and I gave my opinion my know I have to see. Yeah, I have to find it. Okay. So, I mean, yeah, sure. The mission goals the same goals the same goals the same progress the same changed it was progress accountability number two last quarter we
had four and only because I'm misinterpreting that's the one that has that's on page 27 I focuses back to that should not another systems and processes 12. That's on page 28. policies. So I don't know what I think systems and processes should page maintain 70% for agree that we're responsible for all that member not just one So that's why I don't changed this. included evaluation packet here. I'm sorry. It's just hard because it's scanned. It's all scanned. SC I went down two points down from previous two. So that's why because of the personal because Yes. See something that I thought it wasn't. So that's why I had training with him last week. This is this is not what I was thinking. Remember the whole sandwich you know we're working on it. We're not there yet.
Does that make sense? and processes that I correct. That's like the same after 12 12 9 4 2 12 and three. I feel that Watch it. Does that moment Motion made by favor told us that Okay, next item performed. This was months ago in the summer. This was about six hours passed. So now by second Johnsonust action consider action to establish an off workshop for Dr. synergy and teamwork for two communication members for education. the motion to pass this. Yes. Now that we've done the board diet now. So for that committee Johnson and trusty Martinez motion Second favor. Okay. So now that we
have established our bank committees, our next step and our next step now is to schedule a meeting with my February 27. How do I know?
