001[clears throat] Hello. This video is going to show you how to fill out your seventh grade scheduling form. Let's start by putting your last name and first name at the top. Next, you will be submitting your scheduling form to your first hour teacher by March 20th. The first section is for picking your core classes. Please choose the appropriate level for you. Honors classes have a heavier workload and are accelerated. They move quicker through material. If you are unsure what level you should take, please talk with your parent and your teacher of that subject. They will help you decide. So, you will pick math or honors. math, language arts or honors, language arts, science or honors science, and social studies or honors social studies. Next, we'll move to electives. Electives and alternates are next. On the

002back page, there is a list of classes. Some classes are three trimesters, which means it will be for the whole year. Some are only one trimester. If you take only only classes that are one trimester, you would have six different electives in one school year. If you take fullyear courses like band, this is an example of what your schedule might look like. This is one full year course which is band and three trimester courses which is art 2D, drama and maker space. You can also take two fullyear courses if you wish, which could be like band and Spanish. So band would be filled out one through three and Spanish would be filled out 4 through six. In the alternates, we need you to pick three classes or one fullear class that you would be willing

003to take that you're interested in just in case we don't have availability in the ones that you select for your top six. It's important to note that there is one high school class available for seventh graders and it's Spanish 1. Students will receive one and a half credits for the year as long as each trimester is passed. This grade will go on your high school transcript, so please make sure you talk with your parent before signing up. Alternate classes must be filled in in case your top requests are full. We need other classes you wouldn't mind taking. Please make sure you and your parent read and fill out this form carefully. Also, please note that you will not be able to drop year-long classes at any time during the school year. Once you have made

004that commitment, you are expected to complete the course in its entirety. You along with your parent will need to sign and date this form. Requests will be put in the system before spring break. Again, this form is due to your first hour teacher by March 20th. Thank you. Have a good day.
