time e I at [Music] will move back stud for Jo than we are enthusiastic about our two recognitions this evening and at this time I would like to have all of our honores from the Westbrook wir team if you all could come in and also if their faculty advisor Lisa Fifer can come forward as well as well as the community members [Applause] so um it is so exciting to share with you that Westbrook wir robotics team built the rock robot and competed in the demo days best robotics competition which was held at Westbrook Intermediate and included teams from all over Southeast Texas um the components of the competition included marketing presentation engineering notebook community outreach CAD website and exhibit Booth as well as interviews and critical design review Westbook wi team took home first place
for marketing presentation first place website and the founders award for most creative robot design all this contributed to the team success in winning the first place best award which is the highest award given at a best competition and the compet it's particularly impressive because the competition involves mainly high school teams so to have an intermediate school with this top of honor is pretty uh is pretty incredible and I would like to ask you to join me in congratulating our fine students [Applause] we'd like to uh take a few minutes and uh check out this video to see them in action [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music] get [Music] [Applause] [Music] R her down like you're supposed to set go [Music] [Applause] and students as I call out your name if you could just wave the folks

had to improvise um so if you can tell us about that well um we had a big problem in our driving at least which is the big tournament part um of like the competition day and our auton did not work which is most of where we're getting our points from in the driving aspect of the game and it just did not work as we planned whatever and that was um not we did not uh just kind of resorted to everything else giving us points and getting like fit that's dealing with it too so um now what about in terms of preparing for the competition was there a particular design challenge that was U particularly difficult and if so what was it and how did you overcome that design or planning challenge sock one of had
braing ideas SS finally come so we are inspired this evening by your troubleshooting you're dealing with unanticipated challenges after these accomplishments that we look forward to see you continue to be in action so well done [Applause] and I'd like to ask the for runners who qualifi for U state cross country to step forward [Applause] and so uh when I call your name if you can step forward to receive the medal that's being presented to you and we are tremendously proud um and and also if there's I appreciate yes this principal's joining us as well um so we are tremendously proud of our four runners who qualified for the UIL state cross country me um I enjoy running myself and I know that these um athletes have devoted many many hours um in training and you've
shown truly the dedication and persistence do pay off um so uh we' like to recognize Matthew trino from clar Brook High School plays 28th out of the entire boy 6A division [Applause] congratulations and the girl 6ab congratulations to Caitlyn gails from Clear fall gaale from Clear Falls School 72 and Madison Hill from Clear Falls High School plac in 998th and Amy Clark who placed 107th truly incredible so I'd like to ask is there um a particular part of the race that stood out for any of you in terms of particularly pivotal part of the race that was either particularly challenging or a key point or particular for any other reason okay so like near the end of the race there's a bridge you cross and as soon as I hit it I don't know I
just got an adrenaline rush and I just took off and I started passing people and it felt really good so [Applause] and the the only other question I have is um what part of is it uh what part of your training would you say most contributed to your success this season of a summer training BF that working ahead of time really pays off hey please join me and congratulating these fantastic [Applause] first of all I just wanted to saying wire you know robotics and especially see that you got you know being a part of a team and collaborating and work together so kudos to those guys and also to apprciate what they and that young lady was correct when said warud we want to take time to highlight all the reasons that we're grateful and
earlier this uh this month we put out an invitation empe made children 15 and each employee will receive personized card with a with gratitude information we' like to share a 9C video stories that we've received so check this out [Music] ccsud CCS also that grateful for our substit on Friday November 12 recognized our allar as part C have last Monday we also provided andity as stage oursite is CH to's preference to the 2223 academ calendar draal developed by De committe final recation will come before the board at next meeting and the opportunity ones Edline allow Harris liary January ISD announced a free partnership with Harris County Public Library which allows students toess concern about Harris County Library Book located andur our staff detered agory stud access to the Harris liary emph realiz they want children

issues considerable interest from the it is that members of our community be able to address the school respectfully without disruption and without fear of intimidation from other attendees on behal of the board the super CCISD staff we welcome your input during CCISD school meetings request that everyone EX good evening when discussing matters pertaining to CCISD is important to take into account the vastness of the district not only in terms of his Geographic size but the large population that resides within its boundaries as with any suburban area that helps make up a metroplex ours is quite diverse there is indeed strength in that diversity there is also strength in unity which is something that is often difficult to attain in diverse areas due to political or cultural differences however one thing that unifies all parents across
Ross the political cultural Spectrum save maybe the 5% that make up the extreme left is the desire to Shield our young children from sexualization much has been made in the past month or so about a book called sex is a funny word that was apparently available to second graders through an app that was accessible through CCISD online portals I understand that after access was exposed by a concerned parent the book was no longer available for viewing by CCISD students through that District's app so kudos to you for burning the bodies after the crime been even though sex is a funny word may not be available to our local kids anymore it's been my experience with government run institutions that where there is smoke there is most certainly fire so rest assured that whether you were
either complicit or simply asleep at the wheel when our children were exposed this smut there's an army of concerned parents doing a deep dive into all things literature related in CCISD these parents your constituents mind you are not going to sit by idly while the culture war that is being waged in America attempts to engulf our most precious gifts our children whether it's drag queen Story Time books like the one that was exposed or any other attempt to sexualize our kids we're not going to stand for it so I want you to know you've been put on notice because ultimately the buck stops with you guys the school board the Board of Trustees those to whom we entrust the fine details of our public education system one look at some of you either the ones
hiding behind the masks or the ones with D's next to your name when you're running for your next position and it's easy to see where you most likely stand on these issues you probably fantasize about kicking it in the Hamptons with the clintons sipping chatau of feet and adrenochrome with your pinkies out that's not how we get that's not how we get down here in Texas not this part of Texas speaking of our great state we all know the anti- littering campaign whose slogan is Don't Mess with Texas that slogan has taken on a deeper meaning over the years not to Simply embody our desire to have litter-free roads and highways but also means don't mess with the citizens of the state when you attempt to sexualize our children through any means literature or otherwise
you mess with us in the worst possible way so I'll leave you with the paraphrased words of the American writer Chuck pic your constituents are the people you depend on we cook your meals we haul your trash we connect your calls we drive your ambulances we guard you while you sleep do not mess with us thank you and good night M before you get started I just wanted to remind our audience please no applause there's no applause after each speaker why is that because that's not part of our theum and it's not part of our policy in our board to cheer and and appla things of that that's why evening latest Co level communication the immediate question that came to mind was how much longer how much longer will you prevent parents from making School
memories with their children and how much longer will you continue to move and alter that gold Post in the latest email you mentioned the vaccine is actually gene therapy as the reason for continuing the delay opening up the elementary schools for visitors for breakfast and lunch until after Christmas how much longer are you going to be ignoring the data that has been presented by us parents month after month parents including myself Spen and provided data on the importance of mental health vitamins exercise healthy diets healthy body but you continue to only focus on gene therapy so let's discuss this gene therapy the current fatality rate of for people under 16 is 0.0% the data confirms that children are unlikely to suffer serious side effects from Co even with the Delta variant asymptomatic spread is rare
and children are ineffective transmitters we don't know the extent of the side effects so the FDA painted a few likely scenarios for this gene therapy best one of the best with Best Care available injecting kids will prevent 67 ICU visits for but it will cause 57 ICU visits for myocarditis per million kids vaccinated in low transmission groups which this age group is the FDA estimated presenting only preventing only seven icus while causing 57 for in June isra scientist announced finding a link to a rare autoimmune disease acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic her TTP for short look it up you don't want your child to have that Germany France Denmark Norway Sweden and Finland have all suspended madna drug for people under 30 and Taiwan has aled Al halted injections for 12 to 17y olds they're not even
considering it 5 to 11 meanwhile here in the usly modified eua drug to the ingredents so tell me why you would prevent families who want to have Thanksgiving lunch with their Elementary children to allow families who choose to have their children vaccinated to complete the process those were your words I'll close with a study done by the ni showing that if a 5-year-old develops mild myocarditis there's a 5050 chance that they won't live to see their 18th birthday parents how much longer will you continue to put your children in this kind of situation next we have Steve m used toot heal children who have not the VAC risk catching areals there's no reason not of Al number get ask V maym thank you Sher byis aen last I reminded you addition me C of gu
and cont emplo concerned elction inte our JBC interal out we discrep St I Christino Jennifer I have a couple things to read to you tonight first here's an excerpt from a community impact article on October 22nd qu the presid of this CCISD leaders approach Equity from a student perspective without asss about or econom Stat needs for students includes providing access to Educators that look like them and them from principl to counselors parents are understandably upset about this Equity audit but comments like this from our elected representatives reveal their true intentions let me read you a message I received from a CCISD educator I find it insulting that a report is stating I can't meet the needs of my non-white students Solly because I'm white forget my two degrees in education plus years as a successful
educator I'm also a white CCISD parent does this mean I should request only white teachers for my children so they can have their social and emotional needs met according to this report and apparently the president of this board that's what's best for kids if so as a white CCISD teacher should I only have white students so I can best meet their social and emotional needs I certainly wouldn't want to have a student that isn't having their needs met simply because of my skin color I would never do either of these things because both are ridiculous but the equity report seems to conclude that's what's best for the students so just maybe I'm wrong here of course thank goodness we're being told this Equity report isn't about race I have to ask what is this District
doing not just to its students and families but to its Educators I want the voters watching tonight to understand that the trustees sitting before you believe that your child's education should be dictated by the color of their skin if I'm wrong then I challenge each of you to go on the record to the contrary and fix what you've broken in our schools and also tonight this voting on whether to spend a quarter of a million dollars on new voting machines let me be very clear CCISD should not purchase these machines instead the County government should run future elections it would be far more convenient to voters and would ensure the elections are run fairly and honestly in the voting machine purchase recommendation the board is voting on tonight the deputy superintendent of business and support
services had the audacity to save this the district has run trustee and bond elections without concerns for more than 20 years this is a bold lie in recent days Dr Williams and his staff have continued to work over time to conceal data from the May 2021 election even though Texas state law demands those records be released and it is also problematic that as I urg the district to release the records I've learned that the district's General Council doesn't know the difference between a vote tally and a cast ballot image let me remind you that the district is in violation of the Texas Public Information Act by refusing to provide electronic data that is a part of the election records and B has been proven to exist as is the case with nearly every recommendation from
this Administration this voting machine purchase is not in the best interest of the students families or taxpayers if you vote to purchase these machines you are going on record as supporting the same election hijinks that have robbed the people of the free and fair elections that we demand and deserve you good evening my name is Jennifer I thank you for your C and hopefully encourage those parents who have the concerns me but might not have the confidence or the ability to I'm not as poed as some of these speakers but anyways just to what needs to be I do not support vac or Mas mandates in our SCH or anywhere and I do not support mobile vacs coming to our schols either as parents we have the right and we in charge of our kids
as as what they they when they excise out of areion always only between them and their pH and something in the home that's also vitamins exh all over being offered fre shots everywhere we look everywhere and I don't understand that I just don't I don't want to seeies to protect them against and I don't want see anybody else they or job they have because or receive that they don't want to receive I am all of this talk about about sickness about prevention of illness and the main concern is always let's keep our children safe let's protect our children then maybe we need some help as far as says let's teach you how to out let's teach you what a healthy meal looks like so for now for Simplicity I'll call it the C em aess
through action thank you I amurg toe on thee of Maes isec to cont and Harris counties El on voters El must go to separate locations for CCISD in local elections often to unfamiliar locations liit low and this is one way to solve it uniform election eies of scale that all opportunties for citizens to vote in terms of time and place at a lower cost per voter further consider the fact that the counties do not have AED interest in anything but running a fair and free election also consider the staff time required to evering regul Staffing counting and addressing issues after the election the counties are required by law to only charge what it cost them to run elections dist to focus on educating childrenour nonacademic ende like to approve that is account toed officials and
taxers but the's spech wasow and looked at the at will be upon USD facing fearful odds for the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his gods for the tender mother who dandled him to rest and for the wife who nures his baby at her bre and for the holy maidens who feed etame dege it bra of the city of Rome and bottleneck Invaders and I want CCD what you groups our St legisl lob and demand School vouchers that all to the parents not to schools mandate governs have in and parents constant access to their children's classrooms mandate open books online to show exactly where every tax dollar goes mandate that all books materials every scho is available on so Cen can see what is made available to the children create a list of
books that you want the schools to carry for the children to be able to check out mandate that every school library is made available to the public create the ability of citizens to recall any and all School MERS super elected scho District local representation thank you next we have one minute speakers Samuel Alex followed good evening it's an honor to be here and uh uh you know last week we celebrated Veterans Day but we're so blessed to be in this community that every day is Veterans Day I would like to also say that I come from a family of veterans and my two children that finished from this amazing District went on to serve and now my daughter is a senior SFA and uh my son is a processor over at the uh plants and
I would say that my one ask as a combat veteran as a disabled veteran would be that we as a community come together because when I was was the district that looked after my wife and my kids it was my fellow Community my fellow Americans that looked after my family and kids and so I would just hope that we would treat each other like fellow Americans thank you of are from the come out as that our current super rep I wanted to for coming out I want to allow yeah thank you for all to do that I did not mean to cough on you at the last meeting I try to be as respectful as I Poss ands here when they disagree with me and some of them defitely and that was an accident but
I understand how it made you feel and so I'm s for that all I can say is I listen say when come speak ATS I take and do my best everybody opion into consider regard of whether I agree or disagree or agree some elements and disagree others like ially you so thank you coming and making your voice and I'm sorry you felt that way thank com situation that need to be explored and addressed as well as taken to account the I know that there's sides traps both those sides I also wanted to applaud the parent that informed their principal and Library staff as Administration was alerted to the issue which was access unlike in our school run libraries the Sora app allows students open access to all books allowed within the Harris County library system
as stated by Dr Williams the district will policy to ensure the Timeless of parent complaints and the time frame in which staff considers those complaints a review of our policy as it relates to individual titles will also be assessed as now we have to look at all access or Total Access these are actually good problems to have as it shows the willingness of the district to address our policy and procedures to ensure that students concerns and fin aun district presentation on elections that will be on our agenda I knew that the district Andel associated with our election process did do an exceptional job but did not realize how smooth and efficient they were compared to our counties we can all agree that we may not like the results when our candidate our candidates are not
successful but to get the stamp of approval from State officials leaves it pretty hard to argue and lastly when we started our journey find of finding Dr Williams we had a thorough and National search for the best candidate to lead our district that included background checks um interview of uh previous staff Etc his grasp of all things education including policy curriculum finance and instructional leadership we second to none in our search and as a we are glad to be able to bring him back home so far Dr Williams performance for our district has been ex as he comes up on his first within the district he has among other thinking and Robotics within our curriculum and handled our Co protocols after being in a district that didn't even meet in like we did last year
and the list goes on so once again I wanted to thank our speakers who came out to address um we I can speak for myself but I'm sure I speak for majority of our board members we are taking copious notes um we discuss some of the some of the issues that are brought up and that's what makes us get better thank I'll p thank you do I have a second Mr Sanchez thank you for the second we have a motion to approve the consent agenda minus item s and 10 I'll call for a vote all in favor please raise your carries unav f okay enh St app I'll call the approval of the partnersh of Guess m com EXC ISAT that the expend would not occur even though it's improved than I we'll move on
to item all emplo labat grp of employes emplo employes CC CC CC expit terms will CLE to employees from forward what kind of testing is and is accept St should have to be here today to share with you a little bit about our new course approvals for this so um just a little bit about the process as many of you know we do this is an annual process for us and we start this in um September late late August sometimes um but it officially starts September one of every year and essentially um teachers and District leaders can put in a new course proposal so that gives them um they give lots of information which you see in the background pack I about the courses and a few things about them we want them to align
withs obviously we also want to align with our district teaching practices um it goes through several approvals before it gets to you today um obviously if it comes from the campus the teacher puts it in so the principal approves it as well as the campus cic and the campus instructural Improvement uh committee and then at the district level curriculum leaders as well as drle for secondary and Dr Bayard and then finally the courses that move through that through all of those and receive approvals all from all of those go to deic and so we met with deic a week or two ago and shared these courses and and they would like for them to move to you for discussion and potential approval today so um this year most of our coures have minimal C and
we'll talk a little bit about a new program that may have a little cost impact but um the funding sources for that as well and um just like every year the courses um maybe listed in the EPG or in our course catalog um and they're contingent upon enrollment so they students have to express interest in them and thenes have to make for actually has a course so we actually have 10 courses this year which I think may be the most we've had since I've been in this role but it's very exciting we have um several that um stem from District level and then we had several from the campus level so I'll share each of those as we get there but this is an overview of all the courses we're gonna look at today so
our first conversation will be about American Sign Language one and two honors so this was actually put in by a teacher at a campus um and had the support of lots of other teachers ious other campuses but essentially now our American sign language courses are very popular and um engaging and students love them um currently we have an honors version of American sign language for three and four which is Junior and senior level coures but at the moment we do not have an honors for one and two and so we are requesting to add an honors version and not regular but also an honors version of American Sign Language these courses would be offered at all our Comprehensive High Schools as well as clear view asican asies of course a very exciting new CTE program
that we intend to have a clear view so um you know that we're working on the rebuild and we have um an area for this program clear and essentially we have three courses to talk about today but we will roll them out over the years as as the years progress so welding one will begin next year if approved and then welding two will be the following year and the practicum and Welding will be third year these coures will be housed at Clear View and although Clear View is opening in January the welding program begin until August so these W and W and theum and Welding are all two credit courses which means they're double blocked throughout the year and this is a would be a district level program so a student could apply to be
in this program even if they're not a student at Clear View and go to this program transportation is provided for those programs that our cross District can details they they will allow students students to obtain W certification and they they are would be added to our CTE course list science exploration is our only intermediate course that we will be talking about today science exploration was actually submitted by a teacher at Victory Lakes Intermediate and um this course will sort of run in tandem with the eth grade science course and the content will sort of be a deeper dive into as an elective so this would be an elective course for our eighth grade students at Victory lights intermediate our next group of es um their next four courses the last four courses are all courses
that were submitted by our special education department and each of these courses is specifically for special education student so they wouldn't be in the larger EPG they would be our decisions for students who would go into those courses and enr in those courses to be graduation graduation requirements so our first couple are um Making Connections one and and these courses um are specifically designed for students with autism disorder and they help in teaching students social skills and for Success post post secondary um these courses are specifically for special education students like I mentioned and they are semester long courses so they would be just one semester each there's making connections and our next special education course that would be added to a course list for special education students is a yearlong course that's called students
in industry and it helps students be ready to take on a career and um and has the um option of interacting with a mentor so the student would get some sort of real work Real World experience and worked learning has a work-based learning component this is specifically for students who are um 16 or older in a yearlong course our final course um to discuss tonight is Community Transportation and this is again a semester long course for high school students in special education and this course focuses around um accessing public transportation how to do how to do that well and successfully wrer safety navigating the systems and that type of thing um this is a semester long course for our special education students as well would be an our committee decision answer questions I have a
question ameran sign language classes teachers that students were Nots ofan language because they were worried abouta I think that's part of the motivation behind it absolutely I think that students you know um they consider all of those things when for classes every year I think also you know was I was visiting Miss's class a week or two ago who put in this request and seeing theaction and I talked with and we talked about how it different if it was an honors versus a regular class because that's what we want to make sure is happening if we have those different levels and um and the intensity in the course and I think she has lots of ideas about be um if approved that's what we work on in the spring time is what exactly that would
look like in the curriculum for the coures and so I think it's multi-layer but certainly that's a piece thank you the reason I ask is because that's sign language is not only where as a concern Rec same effect that initial classes can have parp for students who are concerned abouts atics not against accepting this as an honors class at all I just do think it offer that as an opp en students en those and noted because of GPA right I I mean I think those are ongoing conversations we're having and in fact we've had this conversation specifically about American sign language for several years before we got to the point where we thought we were ready to do that so I think that those are certainly conversations we continue to have we don't want students
to liit themselves and so we'll continue look at that as the what what we are working toward is more options for students for graduation requirements and in the past we we had the ability to use some CTE foror and um sort of as as an Avenue for students in special education and the state has put a stop to a lot of that we Zed we didn't receive funding form but we Ed some of those courses and so now we we're looking at some specific ones for more more specific ones for special education so well they've already kind of lost so so what so in the past we've used some CTE courses similar to these um that were actually CTE courses and not special education courses and we zero way to the students but they use
those and they were taught by their um alternative academics teacher for example um so we are not able to do that anymore and so we are really looking to um increase our specific special education course where they will still be taught by their alternative academics teacher um but they'll have an opportunity to have sort of VAR more more learning experiences assume and conc you know your questions I've been thinking about that and I know that convers should be happening at C right where they're making that decision to move this forward from the campus but but it also makes me think we need to we need to revisit that to and just make those processes are in place and are they thinking of all those different perspectives because you're you're right and and I hope that
was a conversation of the C but that guidance iness is probably ocus St thank you come let me clarify because maybe yeah so a special education student can take a CTE course and so when we are talking about some of our more more severely disabled students then when we have our committee decisions and the artist is the art committee is looking at courses some of the C options but they were a modified version so it wasn't a CTE like weld were LS of modifications to the course and so and another piece that CTE requires typically in a typical CTE course you have a CTE certified teacher and so because our alternative academic students typically are pretty contained with their teacher all day they were teaching coures and that was that was allowed and um until
recent years and then when they changed that and said a CTE teacher must teach the course and you need to teach it as it's as it's listed then that's when we had to make some changes so certainly anybody can take a CTE course um they the ones that were specifically used for our um alternative academic students were used in sort of a different way than intended possibly absolutely I mean that's that's always um a possibility and we try to do that in lots of ways to um to make sure that we're CER so and so we could still continue to do that with some of the courses because there are lots of CTE courses that have that potential and we can work toward that um but we know right now we have a lot of
special education teachers teaching our students in those upper upper levels and assuming that responsibility so we want to make sure they're confident what they do so it's kind of but we can definitely work on that thank conne is that already the only comment I wanted to make was I'm very happy to know when I Pasad and also our being able visitas CAD our very discussion I'll call for a vote favor um of the approval of 2022 2023 proposes yes agenda thank you Dr Williams and I'll just add to that that every two years the Board of Trustees joins district3 total and remind my fellow trustees in our September meeting the Nom Chad Trester as a GC candidate with unanimous vote Mr trer is a member of City CC c c 2019 in order to be
elected to the board a candid 5tion performance Mr TR and scottes city city G Performance performance of Cates G cc2 misses CI of re believe C is she want so I feel like I'm becoming postp but seems like an awot we really don't need to some cons she's respected govern perspec a app what people us to Ser I back anded also of our Cil decision I don't know Scott is either know Mr is also know that I would like represent of however Scot as to see he us years as a represent distri for motion carries ofes Dr Willams um as you all know FC local was brought to the board for a first reading um in September after had been discussed at the policy committee um and then for a second reading um in October
at which time the board uh referred it back to the policy committee and so it was discussed again at the policy Committee in November and um there is a staff recommendation which has not changed the first version provided to you um just has one simp of um increasing the maximum number of public hearings from four to five um and a trustee proposed language um and because there was intention to make a motion with alternate language in order to make it U clearer to be able to consider that alternate language there's an alternate U version provided for you in um the background material and the alternate version um includes language regarding equal opportunity principles in the decision principle uh staff does not um see the need for the change but does not see a problem with
the recommended change in the alternate version and so that's what we have to present to com question is there any comment well yeah I was just going say I want to add this because while in this policy I think as part of our policy processes not ever want to think at oury what could in fure think it's our job to stas neighbor thank you um you know what I want to from this mr's adds OPP shall not consider act perceived demographic characteristics when assigning students to attendant zones when I first read this the first thing that came to mind was the Fair Housing Act of 1968 because that has to do toib discrimination with regards to the sale or rental housing and and further had two 1974 um to prohibit discrimination based on sex and
then 88 the next Amendment included children people with disabilities and families with children so here we are 2021 and I think it's relevant that we have something in there for that and you know we had speakers here tonight talk about strength and unity and we had the veteran and then the gentleman who spoke early on and I think it's time and I think it's a good addition we need to consider while B considering disc also already tocy has 2011 SCH actually I wanted to thank my fellow members their comments I wanted toled truste for bring that for people remember we were to vot on this our last meeting process you know that those typically are not part of charges ISU already ra all right thank you de V EXC is requal toe comp B9 pass
