001I call this special meeting of the Northwest Independent School District to order at 4 PM. Let the record show that a quorum of board members is present, that this meeting has been duly called, and that [snorts] notice of the meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551. [snorts] At this time, we will move to the uh to public comments on the agenda items, and there are none. So we will go ahead and move to the next agenda item which is to hear and consider a level three appeal by oral or oral presentation. The board members have been provided with the record of the complaint in advance of the hearing and all documents the administration presents to the board at level three. The board will move into executive
002session to hear the appeal and deliberate it. they will return to open session to take action on the appeal. The board may also choose not to take action on the appeal this evening. Now that we have reviewed the procedures for the hearing, it is time to determine the qualifications of the board members to hear and consider the level three appeal. If any member of the board feels that he or she cannot do so, the board member should say so at this time and not participate in the hearing. anyone uh let the record reflect that each board member of each member of the board attending this meeting has indicated that he or she can consider the information presented at this hearing and make a decision in a fair and impartial manner in accordance with the Texas
003Open Meetings Act Texas Government Code sections 551.074 551.082 and 551.0821 0821. The board the board may conduct this hearing in executive session. Texas Government Code section 551.074 allows the board to hear a complaint or charge against an employee in executive session unless the employees complained about request a public hearing. The employees complained about have been have requested a closed hearing. We will now adjourn into executive session so the board may proceed with the hearing on written submission.
