Uh, good evening. I'd like to call to order the Pville School District Board of Directors regular meeting for Wednesday, December 17th, 2025. Queen rising, running to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, liberty and justice for all. >> We're having a unique meeting today since the power outage at school. So our meeting this evening is not streamed but it is being audio recorded and will be available on the YouTube channel after the meeting. Um is there a motion to adopt the agenda? >> Move to adopt the agenda as presented. >> It's been moved and seconded to adopt the agenda as presented. All those in favor. >> All those opposed? Motion carries. Um, at this time I'll read our Kville school district

land acknowledgement statement and our bill school district. The bill schools are located on the ancestral lands of the lower Scadget people for thousands of years. Post Salish tribes have stewarded these lands, waterways, plants, and animals. We pay respect to the elders past, present, and emerging for they hold the memories, traditions, and culture of their people across the nation. Hville schools are committed to educating students, staff, and the community about this long history as we honor and acknowledge the continued presence of the Swamish Indian tribal community and all other indigenous peoples. The Kill School District equity statement. The Koopa School District is unequivocally committed to providing a safe, equitable, and inclusive working and learning community for all, whether about race, religion, language, immigration status, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, class, ability, or a combination of these.

All students deserve to be respected for who they are and for and acknowledged for the strengths they bring to our learning community. I just want to mention that director car is not able to be here tonight because of battle lines roads and we still have a forum this evening. So moving on to our consent agenda. Is there any item a board member wishes to remove from the consent agenda? We now ask for a motion to approve the consent agenda as >> it's been moved and seconded to approve the consent agenda as presented. All those in favor? Um, all those opposed. Motion carries. Um, if you didn't have a chance to sign up for public comment and you would like to, the paper on the podium. U moving on to reports and communication. So, we digested

our reports and presentation for this evening um because school was cancelled and um we didn't want people having to travel tonight. So, we are having a minimal business meeting and we're moving our reports and communication to our next business meeting. So, our student spotlight will get moved. Our administrator report will also get moved. Um our business manager report is attached in board docs but as you can see um Dan who has stepped in in the interim since Fran's resignation is not here this evening but if there are any questions those can still be posed this evening and superintendent leatherwoods can follow up um about anything that's mentioned in the business manager report or there questions >> yeah thank And we are early in the month of December of January. My only question is if this

is fully reconciled last time, it is fully reconciled. >> Um, and I'll turn it over you for superintendent report. I know we've adjusted a lot of our plan for tonight, but there's anything you want to mention. >> So, a couple things that were on my report. I still have attached I'm going to move um our WASDA comments and and kind of what we attended at the WASA conference. I had a couple highlights on there um to ensure I also had the green along there with pictures. Um it was a wonderful event. What I what I have to say is that our super our we have a super um effective transportation team and they there wasn't one person seen from that team. They decorated the buses. They came um out in um really star form and

I appreciate uh Morgan for attending as well. Um but it was really well um done and I think the bus was the hit of the of the show. Um the last thing on there um I was presenting panorama data that I will move to January. We did take our panorama um survey video which is social emotional data and um we have some highle data to share and then principles are working with their teams to really dig into some goal setting based on that data. um particularly um I think one of the areas that all the schools really is belonging which really ties to our attendance and it ties to our school improvement our district um improvement plan. Um the last piece that I wanted to ensure that you knew was that there is a restraint

isolation report from um director Kim um who put together that and it's um per policy 32 is 48 on there. So that's also any questions. >> Obviously we're all of our technology and so you know there's there's some key pieces of business that we need to attend to tonight but we'll move a lot of our reports to next week. Um and that kind of goes next month. Thank you. Uh that goes along with our board member reports. So, I know that we had discussed talking about wa conference. Um, I would like us to bump that out to January, too, so that Nancy has a chance to share and our student reps. And so, let's just include that into our board member report, but if there's any other things that you'd like to share, you know,

feel free. We'll just start directly from >> um I agree it's phenomenal us just everything we never see every lunch again I can't say enough about how well they do well taking care of everybody so Yeah. >> I'm sorry. Can you speak up a little bit? >> Yeah, you betcha. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. >> Uh, since our last board meeting, I got to take both our middle school, two middle school teams and a high school 8th grade through 12th 8th through 11th grade team to competition and everybody did really well. Um, middle school ended up in the middle of the pack. Learned a lot, stayed enthusiastic, is begging me to keep meeting over the next few months. We'll see what our schedules look like. And same with high school. Um, they closed out so

strong for a working team and are eager to start building their skills. They want to go into Java programming. They want to go into CAD drafting. And we're going to be working on that in the next few months. Um, I sent you all an email about our board retreat coming up. So, our board retreat will be January 9th and um YMCA Camp Casey has um allowed us to meet there at the captain's house. >> Colonel Colonel House. So, uh we'll be meeting there. If there's things that you'd like considered for the agenda, just as a reminder, please let me know so that we can get that prepared. Um, January is going to be Superintendent Leatherwood's midyear review and we'll be planning an executive session after the workshop. So that at the board meeting, it's when

we decide on extending the contract. Um so that executive session will need to happen after the workshop in January. Um, we have a great walkth through with transportation and Kville Middle School and principal K's uh discuss the use of advisory and tutorial at the middle school and it was just reassuring that their team is really working to make this the most meaningful time for students and for staff and um make it the most beneficial. And we also did a walk through that was a split time with maintenance. And so Mr. Losi is very busy coordinating work for our DoD grant and our building energy audit and still working on capital projects as well as solar energy permit as well as just regular maintenance. So he has a lot of projects on his way that um

that are that they're working on. And I I know the parade was mentioned. The bus was amazing. The transportation team did awesome. There's so many sporting events happening which are really fun. Tomorrow is the choir concerts which I'm excited about. Um and there's just a lot of really great things happening around school. And I just want to wish our staff that are here or our families or our students a really happy holiday break. and just want to express our gratitude for your work. Our student board reps, we asked them to not attend tonight just because there was no school or to make it optional. Um so we expect to hear reports at the next board meeting by um we didn't have any correspondence. Any questions about reports before we move on? Okay, there were no

old business and jumping into new business. There's multiple resolutions which are uh legal requirements to um to adopt following uh director Ganella's resignation and those term financial authority over to superintendent Leatherwood um while we're in the process of hiring and posting for the director of finance positioning. So you want to share anything? >> No, just that very thing. We did not put the on there because they're not contracted to the end of the year. So that's why it's um putting in boarding to myself and once we have a director then we will switch into any questions. >> Yeah, I guess I'll ask now. Just curious if you were thinking about changing it for an interim or just delegating to the interim and then doing a full resolution when we hire a permanent state again. Do

you think you will repeat these same resolutions for whoever comes in as an intern or do you think you have enough authority to deligate these things? We will we will post these once we have we have something um they're required to turn into the county and to the bank. So you'll need to have those ins that we turn that over any questions. So there is a motion written if you'd like to use that language or if you want to adopt individually it's totally up to you >> to approve resolutions 202516 through 18 the transfer of the business manager to the superintendent. It's been moved and seconded to approve resolutions 202516 through 2025 18 transferring authority from business manager to superintendent. Any discussion? All those in favor? >> All those opposed? Motion carries. And then the

last resolution is separate was >> um this one is just um regards to um and it's an annual appointment of the district investment officer and we have to do it on an annual basis. Um and so this is giving myself the authority to invest. >> So was that person was that person in the past? Yes. >> I to resolution 202519 to reappoint the district's investig. It's been moved and seconded to approve resolution 2025-9 to appoint the district's investment officer. Any discussion? All those in favor? >> All those opposed? Motion carries. And that concludes our meeting this evening. As I mentioned, there many of these things will be moved to our January meeting and we'll be back in action. But thank you for investigating. the business of the district. We are objective.
