elcome everybody. Okay. Like to welcome everybody here. I'd like to uh ask Mr. Luciano Trevvinho to come up and he's going to lead us in our flag salute. Come on, sir. Man, I thought we had a bond. Bond. I've known your dad his entire life. Pretty much. I know your grandpa, too. Don't hold that against me. Are you ready? You're going to start us. Okay. >> I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right. Maybe that. No, you stay standing because I'm tall and you're a little shorter. You hold this and we're going to look at her and she's going to go one, two, three. >> Awesome. Thank you. >> Awesome. That

was great. >> Okay. Uh any additions or we just we got two aren't going to be here, right? Hosa will not be here >> and FBA >> FA and we're going to move FFA to the bottom. >> Thank you. >> So, we're here for you. Okay. Any public comment? >> No. >> Amen. >> Presentations. We are going to start out with ASB team. >> My name is Jay Dylan. I'm the ASB president. >> I'm Brendon. your vice president. >> And right now there's not really much going on. Um, just all our sports, you know, getting in the swing of things. Um, >> ASB running to >> Oh, yeah. ASB elections. That's a big thing. So, he's running for president unopposed. So, >> our next president. >> Um, it's more mid-season of the sports, so playoffs

will or like where games actually matter will start soon. Yeah, it's kind of slow right now. >> Not much is really going on. Oh, tomorrow's a spring playing. So, they're gonna have our cap and gowns tomorrow. That's exciting. >> Nice. Nice. >> Pretty much it. Oh, we're having our first league track meet next week. >> Yeah, there's a whole 3D like we don't need a lot of volunteers because it takes a lot of work to help for a track meet. So, >> yeah. Baseball's playing right now. >> Yeah. >> Buster. >> Yeah. Buster. Hopefully they get a W there. >> And that's pretty much it. Pretty slow right now. Just having some sports. >> Awesome. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Next we'll have Unified. Come up. >> Go back. >> Come up. Go back.

Let me look in the hallway. You lost one already. >> You birthed lost >> the unified life right here. >> OJ, do you want to go want to wait a little bit? Have someone else? >> Yeah, we can have Lupe and Ben talk. Lay talks forever. >> That way it's clear everybody out of here. Okay, we'll have Lupe and Ben come up and uh talk to us a little bit about the uh active shooter drill they had this weekend or yeah this weekend >> I was famous words I was I was saying >> it would have been nice but Cat or no C >> whatever you guys want you want to do. Okay. So, uh Saturday was the uh culmination of my project that I had in mind when I first stepped foot uh in

my new role as the director of safety. It was uh to go from an active threat, active uh asalent situation and go full circle into the reunification portion of it. Um, I knew uh we had discussed doing this from one uh from A to Z on one day, but we realized that, you know, we were going to be biting off more than we can chew. So, we ended up breaking it up into three pieces of this pie. Um, August we did the uh lockdown evacuation, evacuating the high school onto the buses and transporting them to the reunification site. And then after that we started prepping for uh the uh reunification portion of it and that was executed in February. >> Right. >> Um here at the district office. So we were able to what was

it like 30 volunteers from the middle school. >> We had 29 students from the from the middle school >> and we were able to reunify them with their parents and figured out what the process was for that and uh it went pretty smooth. Um, prior to that, we had attended a training over in Cord Lane on the reunification process just to sharpen up on our skills. And, uh, this Saturday, April 11th, was the last piece from the active threat um to the lockdown and the evacuation of the of the building. So, we have successfully completed shoot to reunification um for an emergency situation for the school district. um something that I don't believe as as far as I'm concerned, it's never been done on the east side of Washington. I don't know about west side.

I don't know of any school districts that have ever gone from one point to the other. Um I know we've had members from state of Oregon, their emergency personnel come down to see what this was like. Um because I don't know that anybody in Oregon had gone from shoot to reunification either. So, this is something that it was a little overzealous. I I uh once we got going into it, I realized this was a big undertaking, but nonetheless, um it was a culmination of two years of tabletop exercises that we started over at the uh flirting center. um and just kind of took baby steps and eventually got to the point where I just wanted to get this said and done with. So that at the very minimum the Grand School District has kind of

like a map of what to do during these types of situations. I just I don't want an emergency to come about and then being a first time who ever had to deal with this type of an emergency because everything I've seen and learned from previous incidents in other school districts is their reunification was not thought of and everybody's scrambling to find answers to try and solve these types of situations or they don't know where to meet or they don't know where their PIO's and things of that nature. So, it's just a plethora of of just different things that can go wrong. And at this point in time, we've got everything pretty much established as to how we're going to go about this. And so, it won't matter whether it's just an active asalent or some

other emergency. It doesn't always have to be an active sale. It can be any emergency weather type thing, a chemical. It So, I I think at this point in time, we are at least prepared. I feel a lot more prepared for to handle whatever comes our way. And that was the goal. And I'm just I'm done with this. I don't want to think about any school reunifications or anything like this for the I'm taking the rest of the year off so I can just so we can just I know Yakimo Valley Community College afterwards and uh Cila I don't know about CILA um came up to me afterwards and if asked if I could assist them with their projects because I know Yakima Valley wants to do one for the Grand Campus. I told him

I said no my brain's fried. I'm not doing any consultation um in at this time. Maybe next year we can think about it, but I know I'll be meeting with Sea School District, but they they're planning on something for June. So, they wanted uh made it back. No, they want to bounce some ideas off of us. So, we'll see where that goes. So some of the positive things about it when we did the round table two years ago at the news center we had multiple law enforcement agencies, the hospitals, ambulance, we had everybody there to do the round table. And one of the things that came out of that was the time analysis that the police department had with how long it would take our our current process at that time to evacuate the students.

And based on the data that we knew without ever doing this, it was going to take up to 12 hours if not until the next day with the way the process was. So with that analysis, when they gave us that feedback, we needed to go back and revamp how can we streamline it even faster. And so we've done away with what was currently in place to where we were using computers and that was the delay that was going to that was going to bog us down to go into a paper format. And so we were able to test that format here in February without we still have the computers. We we're going to need those, but it's not going to be the first asset that we're going to deploy when we start to reunify to

expedite that timeline. And so with the round table and going through these different exercises that we've gone through, we've revamped our current system that we had two years ago to what it currently is now. And through each of these processes, we still find where we still need to improve. Even with the scenario exercise we did on Saturday and even with the walk, we did a walk through of the reunification here, the way it would be set up at the actual reunification location, whatever we decided that's going to be at. And with the staff that participated again gave us more information that we still tweaked it before we actually did the actual exercise when we had the 30 students. There were the 30 students, we also had to have commitment from the parents. They physically had

to come pick them up >> and they ran through the exact identical process that we would do at any reunification site. So again, we can test the time analysis piece on how long it would take. How long it took us with 30 students depending on which school it is will dictate how much longer it's going to end up taking for that. So the unique thing about it is nobody else has done Just like Lupus said, nobody's done it on this side of the mountains, not to the scale that we've already completed, and it's taken us two years to get to the culminating event, which was Saturday. And so, a lot of other school districts, even went to the training, they're so far behind, they're not even close to where we're at. When we go to

these other trainings, we went to reunification training exercise in Idaho and we were already where they were at because we're follow following the model that they've already put out. And so by following that, we're there. There's so many other schools that aren't even close to where we're at. And they I think when they began just like we did, we have a process. That process would have failed us if we would have had to do a reunification based on what our current plan was. And so it's still going to take some time if it ever has to happen. But we know it's not going to take a day, a day and a half the way the previous plan was. And all that's been through all these different exercises that we've done culminating with Saturday. Um there's

a lot of work that has gone behind um meetings and it just a lot of arguments too um with our first responders um it just they have a certain way to do things and I understand that portion of it but I'm also trying to plug in the school's aspect of it and uh so it it was it was nice that we're finally able to eventually see eye to eye. They understand our needs. we understand theirs and uh I think this culminates I mean it's it's going to be good for the city of Grand View in general. >> So >> well I heard from the police chief Union Gaff the guys he sent down really impressed. >> Yeah, Union Gaff was we had uh there was 30ome officers represented from the entire valley. There was fire

departments were represented from Union Gap to West Richland and we had three different uh hospitals at this location. It's just so it's just very cool to see it transform from the tabletop exercise to actually going um hands-on. Whereas the police department, I think they were tasked with trying to do the uh eliminating the threat and and getting the uh the students that were injured out within like two hours. And our local PD and fire department did it within 30 38 minutes. Is that correct? >> I have no idea what the numbers were. I was head down and dealing with patients. >> It was 38 minutes. >> By the way, Hutch is one of our fire uh grand fire members here um who was at the uh training session as well. I'm So it was 38

minutes when they were given roughly about two hours to get it done. They got it done in 38 minutes. So, and chief and assistant chief weren't here. Um, I will have them show up if I can. At uh, I think May 1st is teacher and service day. So they want to give a little spiel to staff about their observations and how our staff members did at the uh at the training and they got a lot of good things to say and I think I'll leave it up to them to then and I and Brad you guys want to be there just for like the five 10 minutes. Um they really have a lot of positive things to say about our staff and they're really impressed. So I'll leave it to them to disclose that information

to you guys. Uh, I got a couple questions. >> Yes. >> Um, and I went to it. Uh, how many district personnel attended or participated in the drill? >> I know you guys had signup sheets and had different ones for different things. >> We had students uh we had 30 about 30 students that signed up and uh on that I I'm going to have to reach out to Mr. Brownley because had it not been for him pushing some of his students to attend because he offered up leadership points and that was awesome and because we had a lot of his class that was and the majority was his class. So they were getting leadership points to attend and they were also we were also offering 628 community service hours for those who attended and those

would be an accumulation to what whatever is needed what like 40 for graduation. >> Um so we were offering up from six to eight and even then we got 30. Um I will say proer had 45 kids. um which is something that I want to discuss and then send a letter to proer in gratitude for um sending us 45 students as well. So we had and then a couple of explorers um staff members 15 had signed up initially um we lost five that said no I'll discuss this later um and in different setting um but we had seven total stroke six >> faculty and then >> yeah four certified and four classified one of was being secured >> and then Johnny was the eighth um security who I needed uh for other reasons but totally

staff members. >> Perfect. Any other questions? >> Thanks for coming to tell about this guys. You guys did a great job. Have you guys already had the final brief on it or you guys still having some of that? Yeah, >> we know with the PD. >> I think once you get that done, may ask for you to and maybe not in this type of setting, but I'd like to hear how the whole brief went >> after you get all the pieces together. >> Yeah. >> No, that that'd be good. I know we're doing individual brief with the Bruce fire will be meeting there again but the evaluators that the county had for the emergency services their evaluation sheets are being compiled. >> Yeah. >> So by that time all the debrief should be done and

then including what the evaluators evaluated on each entity that was there and then that would give the holistic >> Yeah. >> I think that would be great. >> We'll get another report like we did last time right from the Yakim emergency. >> Yes, that's what it should be. Um I'm hoping so. Um we won't hold them to such a >> disbanded was disbanded. >> Yeah, he didn't work there anymore. >> So that a lot of stuff goodness of his heart wrinkles along the way. So we eventually made it happen and done. So >> awesome. Thank you. Thank you for coming. Okay, we're going to go back to unified. >> Who's the lead? >> Um, so I got quite a bit here for you guys. Um, so I've read through this a couple times with the

goal of not crying. Um, that's my goal for every speech that I give and I have about a 0% success rate. So bear with me. Um, additionally, if I wasn't passionate about Unifi, I wouldn't be the right person to be doing this. Um, so I want to start by giving a big shout out to our middle school. our athletic director at the middle school and his leadership team have established um unified in our middle school. When we first met with Manny from Special Olympics last year, I think I believe it was at the beginning of last year um she shared with us that there was no other middle school in the state that was trying to move forward with unified sports outside of a high school level. So that was really um really significant to

see the uh it's not easy and it's not easy to get going especially when it's brand new. So to see um the dedication that Kim and his team put into making that happen. And then this year they actually had Unified Cornhole. Um >> super jealous. Going to want to jump on that sooner rather than later because I was like wait you're doing what? So, um, but I definitely want to give them a shout out because that's that just really goes to like the testament of Unified and Graham View, which is kind of this very first part. Um, so we did have, um, a pretty successful couple years of unified before co um, actually with Miss McCann back here. Um, and then like like most things, it co kind of just shut everything down. So, um,

since reigniting unified basketball in 2022, Grau has really, um, become the leader in unified sports. Woo! And not only our valley, but in our, um, eastern part of our state. So, one thing that's most notable is when these kids are competing at a state level, they compete against 2A, 3A, 4A. So, when you look at like we're just not competing against schools our size, we're competing against big schools. Um like one guy was like, "Oh yeah, I have about 80 kids that try out." I was like, "I'm sorry, what?" Um so there it's it's pretty significant. So um in 2023, that was our first year we went to state. We finished second in state and we were the only team representing the eastern half of our state at Unified Basketball State. Um we circled back

with that and in 2024 our basketball team finished fourth in state and again we were the only team from the entire eastern half of our state um participating at the unified basketball state level. Um that year they added two relays to unified track and field. So we participated in the first ever unified um track state championship meet that year and we finished fifth in the 4x1 and eighth in the SMR. Um, as Unifi continued to grow, so did Grand View. Um, in 2025, we had our first official Unified track team. We had a team of 18 athletes and partners, and nine of those athletes and partners qualified for state and competed in four different events. Um, and the first year of unified shot put, um, Yandelle and his partner became state champions and set the

state record. And I'm hoping to follow that up this year. So, >> no pressure. No pressure. Thanks. Um, so >> in the fall of 2005, um, Grand View competed in the first ever unified cross country state championship and they finished um, six in state as a pair. Um, which brings us to today and why we're here to celebrate. Um, we had an amazing 2526 basketball season for a lot of reasons. Um, so I'd like to let my peeps introduce themselves kind of before I continue. So, if you can just um share your name. >> My name is Kristen Lever. >> And how many years have you done unified? >> Uh four years. >> Okay. >> Ray Jeffrey, one year. Bren Kramer is my first year. Two years. >> Oh my god. That's my It's my

first year. >> Daily Bill and I've been Unified for four years. >> I'm Beth Delos, assistant coach this year. This is my first year coaching but four years as a mom. >> Actually 18 years as a mom. >> Um so during our regular season we were seven and one. Um we finished third at state and brought home um the first trophy to graduate high school mostly because this is the first year that they gave out trophies that we placed but when they told us a trophy was on the line all of a sudden our basketball got real serious that kind of thing. We actually came back and beat the team that we lost to to open the tournament and they beat us pretty handedly. So to come back and get that win and get that

trophy was pretty pretty spectacular. Um the mayor of Wachi while we were there recognized our team and told us that we had the best sportsmanship in the in the state tournament. Um many friendships were built and leaders were born. Special shout out to my four-year players Kristen and Jaye who are here have been um with us all four years. and then so has Eddie Bertho and Edgar who weren't able to make it tonight. Um in addition this year we participated in the unified leadership summit partnering with other schools to learn about ways to implement unified champion components within our schools. Um this was led by Addison Gentress and Michaela Gonzalez and Mr. Jeffrey. Um our goal is one day very soon to have a unified leadership team at Gravity High School. Um, so I'm gonna

pause and I know um Jaye is ready to talk in a second, but I would like and I didn't prep any of you so and apologize for you real quick. So, um, this is our first year joining us. Can you just share either like a memory or something or how unified sports impacted you? >> Um, I think maybe like like the friendships you built out throughout the season. I think getting to know more people that don't have the chance to play an actual sport, I think that's a good opportunity for them. Um, I think just getting to play basketball, too. That's fun. Yeah. >> So, Dale, tell me a memory, a moment, something about unified sports for you. >> When I joined, I didn't know what it was doing until then, but when I joined,

I felt really nice and circling. casual state champ plays stage very >> um it's my first year so I haven't really been in an environment before and my mom has taught sped before but like I've never really experienced it so coming in this year it was really like fun and heartwarming to like be able to see like myself like try to impact others and try to make a For me, it was more of a learning experience to realize that through leadership, it's not like everyone learns at different speeds and different types of levels. And that just was like a growing experience for me and like the friendships and bonds I built was like a really great experience for me. Um, I've done fight for four years and OJ came up to me and asked if

I could join and I said yes because there's a lot of kids that likes to do sports that have disabilities and it's a good experience to see them grow and have fun. >> Um, for me when OJ first asked me my freshman year if I want to play basketball I was like I was like not playing basketball. I've never played basketball in my life and I was like no I'm going to go out here and make a fool of myself in front of all these people playing basketball. And I still make a fool of myself every game. Not good at basketball. But as soon as I joined Unified and said yes and started playing, like I realized it's not about the sport at all. Like it's all about the people you meet, like how you

grow as a person like and how you learn to interact with all different kinds of people. Like I would never have some of the friendships that I have now. And like I know how to interact with some like everyone's different. So I feel like it really just helps you grow as a person. And I've learned a little bit about basketball. I did score my first points at state this >> took a little bit and you did score >> first. >> Um so while most teams typically struggle to feel the team and the first year definitely did recruiting and school boundaries. over in that life. Of course, definitely had to do some recruiting to get my kiddos out there. And um every team we played was shocked to see us this year because we had 27

kids and we technically had two full teams. We almost had three full teams of people. So, you want to talk about some uh time management? Watching the two of us get five starting lineups and two extra kids in a 20 minute half um is how you spend a majority of your coaching time. So, but it it ended up going quite well. Um, so let's give the emotional part. In closing, um, >> stop laughing. We had every success. There's a circle of support. Um, so I've had incredible assistant coaches for Unified Basketball and I could not be more thankful. Um, Maddie did an incredible job with our basketball program and establishing and leading our first unified track team last year. Um, Beth has always been cry. >> I won't. Beth has always been a Unified Champion

supporter and this year she stepped into a new role as an assistant coach and she's now our head track coach for Unified Track. Um, I faced a lot of personal challenges this year. You okay? >> Without her and her support and her exceptional organizational skills, I can tell you that this year would not have happened. Um, we could not have done the seemingly Thanks. I wasn't supposed to meet him. Thanks. Um so without um again without her support and her organization um and just she just dove in with two feet. We found out we normally start practice in December. We found out three days before the deadline that the Special Olympics put out a new portal that involved both the kid and the parent creating profiles in a brand new portal that no one's ever

touched. So we went >> and so we're all of a sudden scrambling. We're scheduling a parent meeting. We are like trying to tell the kids like, "No, no, I need you and your parent." Like, "You can just call my mom." No, I'm like, "Okay, county can't call me mom. Like, I need you guys to both come here." And so, um, she took initiative and just kind of jumped in and was like, "Okay, this is how we make our team. This is how we do this." And it that was that kept us on our feet so we could be where we're at now. Um, so if you had a chance to watch one of those games, you saw how hard it was to do that jugglement. Um, and thank you for all you do and continue

to do for Unified Sports. Um, we've also been so so fortunate to have several uh, what I call teacher and coach friends. Um, these teachers have volunteered their time to support unified events from co-planning to organizing food, organizing activities, running clocks, um, encouraging students to come out, be a part of our student sections, be a part of the experience, um, and every other possible way. Um, all while while still supporting and encouraging our athletes and partners. I can't tell you the look on the face when the kids come back to school and someone wants to talk about the game. They want to tell you everything all about the game. I'm pretty sure they have competitions on who has the best celebrations. No one's beat Eddie Brio quite yet. Um, and so and also we wanted

to do a a special thank you like we are thankful for the community and schoolboard support that we get. Um but we are we would especially like to give a shout out and recognize our community members and two of which are on the board um Dan and Shelby Hall and Chuck Steamman who have truly become um unified champion supporters. Um they've supported Unifi in many ways and the kids love seeing their faces at games. So sorry Dan, but when the kids saw Shelby at went at you at Unified Basketball State, they were like Shasha's here. So she had some celebrity status. >> I was with her if you guys missed. >> So >> they saw her like she's here and I was like I know. >> So um but your guys' help and support has

ensured that these kiddos have the best possible experience. Um and we'll be forever grateful for that and I look forward to coming while you share all your great success in spring. >> So another school championship, right? Do you guys have any like questions? I know it's kind of >> So, I've been to a lot of the games. Um, I have to say that uh it is the most pure sports you could ever go see. It's really what sports should be. Um, I really uh thank uh the one the helpers. I think that is awesome that you guys do that. Um the excitement of the kids is worth every second. It will bring tears to your eyes the game. Um >> or now. Um it I have to say before I ever went I was not

sure it was something I wanted to do but it is amazing. Um, and the other towns, uh, the other towns that come in and the way they cheer and the way our students will cheer for their town, uh, at the same time is amazing because they need that. And, uh, and I heard Walaw Wala did a amazing job when you guys went down there. I didn't go to that, but um, no, it's uh, it's well worth it. I got to go see this cornhole. That's got to be the biggest. >> It is track state >> unified track or where I'm sorry. >> It's at Mount High School. So it is partnered like that that one's run by WIA um under the same like guidance and support. Um the event that we went to in Wacci

is run by the Special Olympics. Um this one is run by the WIA with guidance from the Special Olympics. So it is during track state. So like last year we would have like okay this kiddo's throwing and like okay cool like our unified events going now our unified relay is running. And so it's all it's truly like a full immersion unified event because you are competing with your peers but you are also competing with every other 2A 3A 4A athlete at the state tournament. So it's really it's really really a pretty incredible experience. >> Nice. >> Um so and just kind of the last thing when we talk about the friendships um my room is popular lunch. Um, and it's just really cool because I see several of my friendships that have come from unified

sports coming in there and having lunch, coming in there and checking in on each other, coming in and having communication with each other and with peers that um they may not have ever known before they participated in unified sports. And that's both like athletes to partners, athletes to athletes partners to partner. every possible making of um the moving of friends. So that's pretty special. So >> anything else? >> No, just for Thank you. >> Thanks for the great job you guys. >> Okay, now we're going to move on to FFA >> and the bunny. >> Bunny. Thought you might guys might bring a pig in touch before we get started. >> You guys want to pet the bunny? >> This is a very um uh what should I say? A very uh well-known bunny now

that Kaylee used it as her um talent at Miss Grand View. >> It's a famous >> I miss that. Yes, she actually um showed the crowd how to show a bunny as her talent. >> Yes. >> Um but that's not what we're here to talk about today. Um so my name is Kaylee Flores. I am this Grammy FFA's president for this year and hopefully the upcoming year. Um and then you guys can go ahead and introduce yourselves. >> Um I'm Coral. I'm the reporter of our FFA chapter and I'm also off topic, but I'm the vice president of the Mayachi at the Grandma High School. My Lista, oh, by the way, we're going to state next. >> That's an Ellenburg, right? >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. >> My name My name is Maria and I'm

the secretary of our FFA chapter. And it >> and that's pretty much all that we brought here with us today. Um, we do have a couple of >> chop litter and our adviser. I said it's so bad and our adviser Jennifer McC. Um, so I I was a little late but um, so what we are here to talk about is just like a couple of things that we did have that we did have in the past or like maybe a month ago or so and that we have some things planned like that are coming up. So within this past past month, I think I believe not this past month, but I believe is in February when we went to Finley and we had a we competed in a jamberee um and we had almost all

of our teams place third within whatever they did and then one team placed fourth. So overall we did like fairly good at the actual things especially because a lot of us it was our first time competing in the things that we did and we learned then and there how to do things. Um, and then we are taking a group to state which is May 14th. We're going to state. We are taking one dairy foods team. So that's about five people. We're taking one food science team which is another five people. We are taking a group of freshman's to compete as a freshman competition. >> So um so they're going to be competing in a freshman competition and then I believe most of us are going to be also doing it is why am I forgetting

the name of it all all of a sudden? >> Courtesy core down. Um so that's what we're planning on doing in May. Um, let's explain what courtesy core is. >> Okay, courtesy core. Sorry, I guess a lot of people don't know what it is. Courtesy core is where we go and we basically just help out the people who are run running each of the competitions that are going on. We just help them set up. We help bring kids from each room to one to like to their rooms to set up or their prep rooms where they would prepare for their um competitions and stuff like that and then direct them to their room to compete in afterwards. Um, so we did recently get a trio of cinnamons. They're another type of rabbit. We didn't bring

them here today because we're letting them adjust to their new surroundings, but they are meat rabbits just like these guys are. Um, and we are planning on breeding them, I believe, in about two weeks. >> We'll probably breed one this Friday and one next Friday. >> I thought we weren't going to breed on this Friday because it lands on state. >> Oh, yeah. We did the dates and we figured out they would be birthing while we're at state. So, we are waiting. Pepp in about two weeks we're planning on breeding the rabbits. >> Um just so and I'm sorry I stopped your foot. Just so in time for the Grand View fair we can have them ready to be shown and I believe it is fri the frier section which is less than six months

but not above a certain weight which I believe they'll be fine at. >> He almost fell off. So just just put a picture for that. Um, >> it's on the floor. It's fine. >> It's fine. Um, so that is basically all the things we have coming up. Uh, would you guys like to mention anything? >> Okay. Well, one little thing just like Coral did. Uh, the my I'm also I'm vice president for FBA and we are hosting a talent show. I believe it is May 8th and the seth and 8th. So, if you guys are interested in coming or have like a talent you want to show off, it's open to all ages and you guys should totally do it because we don't judge. >> So, yeah, that's >> exactly show off your karaoke. It

is a $10 entry fee and if you want to go to watch and support, it's $5 just to general admission. >> I believe the flyer is attached to the agenda for Yeah. >> And that's about all I have to share with you guys. We did have a barbecue contest that we had slated as our a fundraiser for this year. We only had one entrance to our knowledge and I think it's mainly because of when we scheduled it for so we're going to postpone not totally rule it out. Um but we are looking maybe at a late May but that might be too busy um because of graduation and everything else. Um maybe into June as for a date. Um we opened it up to all FFA chapters. I sent it out to our lister. We

sent it out to community members. So, um we did have a professional barbecuer um that had tried to join and we had a couple others that were going to if there had been some competition. So, um we're looking forward to doing that and teaming up with Washington be to hopefully get us some meat. Um we just have to come up with a date and send them a letter. So, um that's in the works. Um, but other than that, this is Dracula. Dracula's >> leaving the barn today. We don't want tears. Um, sorry, Maria. This was Maria's uh rabbit. Um, he actually got a reserve champion at the fair. >> I got a cooler. >> She got this really cool custom cooler >> that had leather and, you know, tulled on the top that said Reserve

Champion. And it's a beautiful cooler. It's like a Yeti cooler, but it's not a Yeti. It's a different brand, but like that. And um a beverage dispenser type thing. So, it's really nice. >> We also got a ribbon. >> Yep. >> So, um yes, we do have one set. These are champagnes. If you don't know rabbits, these are called champagne dar. Kind of a bougie name, but um >> we have one female that we've already bred. So, she will be um >> due about the 2nd of May. >> Yeah. Oh, not a Yeah, we were in April. Yeah, you were. >> Yeah. >> No, no, no. We bred them in March. >> No, we I bred them I bred Princess A. >> Sorry, we're Oh, April second. Oh, okay. I thought she bred them a

week earlier. Sorry. >> But she knows. Um and then like she said, we got three sh uh cinnamonss are a little bit smaller and they're brown. So, that should open up a lot of um opportunities for other students to show at the fair. So that's that's our intent is to have the three litters hopefully um which could mean a lot of kids showing at the fair. Um they are allowed to show and sell two >> per class per rabbit. I mean per breed per class and per um >> that's what you can show but you can also only sell two. So they can actually sell two of their animals. So um that is the plan. And I've got lots of freshmen that are chomping at the bit to raise some rabbits. So, the barn hopefully

will be full this summer. >> Michael was showing I can talk about that later. >> My phone I >> Do you have any questions for them? >> All right. Can I pet the rabbits? >> Yes, absolutely. >> I think your daughter's been out to the barn a few times. >> Name Dracula. Cuz he used to have like um >> he used to have like a a widow's peak on his head and he kind of reminded us of a vampire. >> Yeah. >> Black. So we named him Dracula. >> So they're born black. These guys are born black and then they get their their white kind of the first blue healer. You know how blue healers. They're born white and they get the black titty >> or the red titty. >> This is the opposite. So,

they're born totally black and then they start to get their white, but then it looks really looks modeled like they're losing hair cuz it's black at some spots and gray and others. >> Thank you. >> Thanks for coming, guys. >> They It takes about a month or a month and a half before they cycle. >> Gestation period is about a month for rabbits. Yeah. >> Which is why they're born with their eyes closed and >> Yeah. And like a mouse, right? >> They don't eat mice. >> Will they catch them? >> Probably not. My dog might though. >> How is >> He's giving training his son. Okay. >> So, that's our >> complaints. Just good stuff. >> All right. >> Thank you. >> Congratulations on everything and I hope everything goes well for the fair

as well. >> I hope so. >> Yes. >> Next weekend, right? >> Next Friday, actually. >> Next Friday. >> Yeah. >> State again. >> So, the 24th. >> Yeah. >> In Ellenburg. Okay. Anything else? Are you guys good? >> We're good. Are you good? >> Good. >> That's about it. Thank you guys. >> All right. Thank you. >> Okay. We'll move on to the consent agenda. >> Everybody knows the routine. >> I'll make a motion to approve the consent agenda. >> I second it. >> All in favor? >> I opposed. Motion carries. Okay. Under new business, resolution 11. >> Make a motion we approve resolution 11. >> I second. >> All in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. >> Okay. Second reading policy um on the field trip. Anybody have anything else on this

or are we good with it? >> No questions or >> no questions. Um, I make a motion to approve the second reading of policy 2320, field trip excursions and outdoor education. >> Second. >> I'll second. >> All in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. >> Mr. Darling, Dr. Darling, your report, please. >> Yeah. So, I was off all last week. Um, as you know, SEWAC has three different spring breaks. Um, if you're in northern, central, and lower valley. So I worked during most of our spring break and then took CA spring break off so the boys and I and Aaron could we didn't go anywhere. We we hung out >> build a bunky and did some other fun stuff. But so I give you a list of just some um upcoming dates and events

for you to be aware of. One thing I would start to nail down is if any of you are interested on the May 19th awards banquet. That night we will honor um a s we will give out a a community member award and we're going to give out a student leadership award. And so you're aware I think they're gone but Jay Dills will be one of the students receiving an award for all the work she does. You know she's she's in the think of unified everybody. Um and also Jacob Gonzalez. I don't know if you're familiar with Jacob. Um, but Jacob's going to be the other one that gives you a student leadership award. And then Juan Salazar, who is our volunteer wrestling coach and volunteers at Triplex. You ever drive by and see his

eight hangers or his Corvette there? >> He does so much for those guys. And so I talked to Eric and um um Anthony said, "Yeah, oh yeah, one would be a perfect guy to nominate for this award." So, um, so we'll have each of them and one, uh, and a plus one show up that night at the at the event, but if any of you would like to attend. >> When do you need to know by? >> Um, I think by the 24th >> because I have to, of course, check with the person that tells me what I do. So, >> yeah. So, if you let me know by the 24th, >> that >> then we can reserve a C4. Even actually it's not as critical for you all because um we can just add

people up until probably the week before really for them we need to know because we have to have plaques made for them because they'll receive plaques and awards that night so their names being >> but then she'll have to if more than three of us go she'll have to put a thing out on >> Yeah. Yeah. So other than that everything else is um graduation's a final bullet on that list in front of you. It snuck up on us, did this? >> I think it goes back to Brad. >> Oh, yeah. Make sure you get all the pages. >> And that's my bullet board. What questions do you have? >> I don't have any. Thank you. >> Any questions? >> All right. So, what are the board assessments since I did it? >> It's pretty

good. What one isn't there? The is next Wednesday the dual language parent night? >> It's tomorrow. >> First bullet. >> Oh, it is right there. I missed it. Okay. >> I'll finish this up in a minute. Um, uh, from the board, >> anybody have anything? >> No, I haven't miss Grand. It was not particularly school related, but not not school related. >> It was at the school. >> Did she win? She got a princess. Oh, I thought she was. >> I saw the pictures. I helped clean up at the end. >> There. There you go. There you go. It was We just have some really talented students out there. It was It was a good showing. >> I was at the baseball game on Friday. So, I came down from the Sea Grand View JB

double header and in between games actually took the police chief of Union Gab and his wife um through the building and we saw Shelby in there. they were setting up stuff and so I said hi to them. But yeah, everybody's always amazed at our high school. It's really it's really something to show off. >> I show it off every chance I get. >> Um I have a couple things from the board. I went to the active shooter thing and there's a couple things that I have from it that I would like to bring up. Um uh and that was kind of based on some of my questions I asked Lupe and Ben was the lack of participation from people in our school district and the employees because there was hardly any from the high school.

Um in fact I that's one of the questions was that all of the injured students were proer students the whole class. So teacher had their whole class come down and do that. Um I attended the event and I sat with the organizer. He was he asked everybody I went into this thing. You had to sign a deal and and waiver and everything and I did and I went in and he went around everybody asked the for the people that were watching what do you want to do evaluate or you want to be in a classroom? I said I'm a school I'm on the school board. I just want to observe. He goes you you come with me. So I hung with him and he explained everything as it went which is they have not done

any of these on this side of the mountains and not to this extent. They did two on the other side of the mountains but not even close to this extent. Um at I just want to bring this one up at the beginning of this event was Ben ran walked through the hallways and shot blanks to uh initiate a uh active shooter. Mhm. >> And what was supposed to happen was the teachers in the classroom were supposed to notify the office that they had heard shots and they believe there's an active shooter to put the school into lockdown. That isn't what happened because we didn't have any teachers there. We had people that were standin people that did that. So Ben went around all the way around the school shooting blanks. Went out to his car,

put the gun away in his car, and locked his car. came back. He initiated the lockdown. I guess nobody did anything. It was kind of amazing. Um I asked one person that was there from the school district because there was only 13. And um she said it was offered through an email was sent out to everybody. They got zero responses. Then they put out one that said 10 the first 10 people would get paid. They got 15 responses and then like they were saying, some bailed. But that's what it took to get people to come out for a drill to try to make your school better. It just it kind of blew my mind. So, I'm sorry I'm bringing all this up, but I had to because it's just Anyway, um so the drill went

like that. They put it into lockdown and then what they did was just kind of cool was they told everybody that participated they asked them the thing was staged for 11:37 on a Thursday. So students were at lunch and some students were there. So, they asked every uh law enforcement where were you last Thursday at 11:37 and wherever they were at, that's what they uh put on for their uh arrival time, meaning their duration it was going to take them. So, if somebody was in Bleton uh checking some stuff out, they had to not show up. They sat outside and didn't show up till 15 or 20, whatever the time limit was. So, everybody had that. So, you had all these people showing up at different time. really pretty cool of how they did that

and uh how they came in and established the area. I'll tell you what, trying to clear an area of that size is was it wasn't crazy, but if that place would have been full of students, it would have been crazy. But luckily, it was not full of students. It was just full of few people. But it was pretty neat neat thing and I I followed through the whole thing and and uh so it was pretty neat. So anyway, I went to that on Saturday. That's all I really had on that. My little whining and crying about a little bit, but uh anything else from the board. Okay. Well, I'll have this done for us and I'll hand it over. Um, don't forget I think it is uh we were going to all have time to

review some policies and at the next meeting I'd like to bring that up to where we can try to schedule um a time this summer. Uh uh I picked I have three policies that I have picked out. I may review some more, but just a reminder that uh you don't I'm not saying you have to pick three or you pick a few and then we can kind of discuss and try to whittle that down and uh then we can try to pick a date where we can have a little training session. So, what do you want to do about budget things? Do we already have another one set and I'm not remembering? >> The one in May >> last meeting. >> Okay. And that's we already have that. So, okay. >> Um there's not anything

else. I think we're done. Nothing. Okay, cool. Not bad for having this many people here. >> Yes. an hour. And Betty
