001Hello, my name is Pete Warrick and I am the director of facilities and grounds for the Sun Prairie Area School District. I would like to give you a short presentation on the proposed Westside Elementary School roofing project. Operational expectation 12.7 and 6.4 Four directs the superintendent to receive approval from the school board before projects over $250,000 can move forward. The proposed roofing project would cost $525,439. That is the reason I am bringing this forward on the superintendent's consent agenda. As you can see on the cover page of the project, there would be seven sections of roof that would be replaced at Westside Elementary. All roofs in the district are split into sections for planning, locating, and maintenance purposes. Industrial Roofing Services, IRS, has been a partner with the district for many years. IRS has a
002great knowledge and understanding of our district roofing systems. The next slide will show the locations of the roof sections in greater detail. For reference, roof section 15 to the far left of the map and in the middle is the main entrance to Westside Elementary. A black dotted line on this map shows the sections of roof we wish to replace. Rough areas 1 2 3 5 8 and 9 are part of the base bid. Alternate ad number one in the green box shows section six that would we would also like to replace. We ask for a base bid to show the sections we want to complete. The alternate ad sections we would like to complete if the budget allows. It is just an easy way to separate the bids to identify costs during the final decision-making
003process. Industrial roofing services and I agree that the current asphalt builtup roof system should be replaced in the sections identified. It is at the end of its service life. This is the bid tab for the contractors that sent a proposal for this project. Outlined in red is my recommendation for this project. We wish to complete the base bid along with alternate ad number one. The total price of the project would be $525,439. Work would begin after the end of the school year and would be completed before the start of next school year. Pioneer roofing is the lowest bidder and should be awarded the the contract.
