001Greetings. I'm Dr. Sarah Chaya Clarity, our director of secondary teaching, learning, and equity. Today, we'll be presenting the proposed 202627 secondary student fee schedule as outlined in the situation and recommendation report. This annual fee review is required under procedure JNR and must be brought to the board for approval before December 31st. Our first slide outlines the overall student fee schedule for next year. The yearly consumable and material fee will remain unchanged. $20 for middle school students and $40 for high school students. There will be no adjustments to athletic or club fees for the 2627 school year. Several fees are determined by outside vendors, not by the district. These include lifeguard training fees which have changed from the 2526 school year. CNA program related fees which cover the exam, health history, background check, ID badge, and

002drug testing when required. These have also changed from the current year. AP exam which are set by the college board. While increases for the 2027 test administration have not yet been announced, beginning in the 2026, the AP capstone seminar and research exams will cost the same as all other AP exams, which is a cost savings for students. It is also important to note that students may take AP courses without taking the AP exam with no impact on high school credit or high school grades. This chart provides a visual comparison of the proposed 2026 27 fees with the 202526 fees. The majority of district controlled fees remain flat, reflecting our continued focus on keeping school related costs stable and predictable for families. The only changes shown are those driven by vendor-based adjustments. Here is a summary

003of the final fee structure for the recommended next year. Middle school students will continue to pay a $20 flat fee. High school students will continue to pay a $40 flat fee. This is for all consumables regardless of which courses they enroll in. For athletics, middle school athletes will pay $20 per sport. High school athletes will play $100 per sport. There are very few exceptions to these flat fee structures, and those exceptions are detailed in the full written fee schedule included in the situation and recommendations report. We also want to emphasize our continued commitment to equity and access. Most fees may be waved for families who qualify for free and reduced lunch. Families can complete a waiver directly through the online registration or by calling the nutrition department to request a verbal waiver. This ensures that

004finances are not a barrier to participating in academic or extracurricular experiences. In closing, the recommended 2026-27 fee schedule maintains consistency for families, limits district controlled increases, and continues to provide fee ware options to support access for all students. Thank you for your time. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have at the upcoming board meeting on November 24th.
