Um and it's really part of the title one guidelines. Um it's sort of an extension of the PTA or the PTOs in the building. So, >> Okay. >> I mean, we could maybe have the principal speak to some of that work. That might be a nice
>> Yeah. >> new item that principals could speak to. Some of the parent engagement activities that are being planned. Furthermore, the transition is designed to
streamline administrative oversight and to improve overall service and support. HRA account holders will receive a welcome packet from Avaben in the mail. Is there anything else you'd like to report on this, Molly? >> Um this is what I'm excited to talk about. This is for all HRA account holders. So, whether they were a support staff, a teacher, or an administrator. So, we haven't received the best service from MidAmerica, so I think this will be beneficial for everybody, including the district. So. >> I did check in with um SFT and and they said it seemed like a win-win for for everyone, too. So, that was good to know. >> Yep. All of the new packets, they'll be coming out in July. They'll have all the instructions on how to set up their claims reoccurring monthly out
of their HRA if they're still in health and dental insurance here. So, it'll be all the same as with MidAmerica. It's just the initial transition. So, it's >> So, that window then is going to open up because we usually had to have that done now in this month, so it'd go into effect in July. >> Yep. So, then So, when you get your letter, it might say you have to do it on your own for July and then get reimbursed and then can set up going forward. >> Okay. >> And then there is a blackout period for those who already have the access to the HRA and they had got a letter this week from Avaben explaining what they needed to do for all of that stuff. So, they've been super good on taking the
communication on their end. We sent out a letter to We also have 403Bs through MidAmerica. We closed the accounts. Our tech people need the account holders. So, I sent all of them a letter just saying we're moving the HRA funds, which are district, to Avaben. If you would like to move your own 403B, you have two options. Go through your own advisor and you can move it. And your other option is to go through the admin um [snorts] place and move your 403B to them as well, but it's the own account holders choice. >> Is there a deadline for that? >> No, cuz that's their money so they can do it whenever. The 403B's would just stay with Mid America unless they choose to move it on their own. >> All right, thank you for

Any other district program highlights? >> Yeah, just a couple things. One is I do I do want to just um publicly state that we identified our guest teacher of the year at the end of the school year and we honored her the last week with a gift. Uh Chris Cozy was recognized by our teaching staff. Former teacher, but subs for us often and so uh in May we pushed out a survey to our staff. We guest teachers are an important part of our district and they provide um a great support to us and so we just want to continue
to recognize and acknowledge them. And every year we get a whole new slew of um nominations, which is kind of cool. Um the other thing, I just want to remind folks more I'm kind of just speaking publicly that the Wisconsin Public Education Network Summit, the summer summit is being hosted in Superior in July, July 23rd and 24th. It's really the evening of the 23rd and then all day on the 24th. Um it's for parents, it's for community members, it's for educators who care about public education and want to be champions and advocates for public education. And so, um we are providing uh some registration. We are covering the cost for registration for staff who are interested in going up to a certain amount that we're capping that at. Um and then we're encouraging any families
um to attend as well, you know, and learn more about school finance or >> [clears throat] >> um you know, different aspects of of being a champion for special education. Um and we also have they've also invited all of the governor candidates to a forum as part of this event and I think many of them have confirmed they are attending. Jill Underly is coming. Governor Evers is invited to attend and has not yet confirmed, but he's on the tentative schedule right now. So, we're excited. It doesn't usually We don't usually get state events in this part of the state and I just want to make sure we're well represented. And I just met with Jamie today that and he's going to be providing food service for breakfast and lunch. >> Yeah. >> Our school our
school cafeteria at high school and our our beautiful facility there. So, it's awesome. >> Can you remind me where it's hosted again? >> at the high school. >> Okay. >> So, the evening event the night before is they wanted to do a partnership with the university. And then the event itself is all day on Friday at the high school and then that night there's another event in the evening at Thirsty Pagan. >> Oh, fun. >> Yeah. >> I didn't know it was something for parents, too. So, that's great. >> Yeah, it's really for anybody, you know, potential board members, anybody who wants to be a champion. It's not just for educators. So, >> Yeah. Can you share, sorry to step back,
I have a question about what So, what does the guest teacher do? Like that's >> It's another word for substitute teacher. >> Oh, thank you. Okay. >> I think it's a little more professional to say they're our guest in our classrooms for the day. So, >> Okay. Thank you. And then do you have a sense of how the registration is going for the conference? >> 100 right now. We're anticipating 120 or so. But, we're still early. I still anticipate we'll get more registrations. >> For sure. >> Yeah. >> What's that? >> How many from the district do you know? >> Oh. I don't know. I I think like 10 to 15 so far. Yeah. Yeah, I still anticipate we might get a few more in now that summer's over and people have time to take
a breath and look at their calendars. >> Yeah. Has been shared with like the chamber and things I'm guessing maybe you have. >> actually we've been planning this for over 2 years and the chamber was a part of the initial planning the master that they helped with we cuz we also are we created kind of a vacation package so it's intended for people to come up and then stay up here. >> Yeah, I saw that. >> The chamber was a part of the planning of it. >> Cool. >> Um and I've shared it with CESA 12 um staff. >> Mhm. >> stairs. >> Excellent. Thank you. >> It's great. >> Do you need any help those days? >> No, I think if you're there I think just being a greeter and a an advocate for
