October um Sarah Barnes is our uh a winner um for the Spartan showcase and she is here with her principal and her husband tonight I want to read a little bit um about what her co-workers have said about her and why she was nominated Sarah is our new building uh emlss teacher this school year she has be she has begun her new role in such with such positivity and Grace Sarah endlessly reaches out to her building co-workers to offer support as teachers learn to navigate the new fast fast Bridge testing website and procedures Sarah has worked to get to know students in the building at all levels as students are adjusting to their new year she has embraced this new role with Spartan pride and a great positive attitude and respect for others and an

unbeaten work ethic we are so lucky to have Sarah at Lake Superior Elementary another comment is that she has created an inviting space for the students who she works with to support Lake Superior Elementary in a very short time students have already shown growth and the results of their hard work and Sarah's reading support Sarah is a leader within the building helping teachers to think through their efforts to help students find success in the classroom she's a member of the shared leadership team at the Lake Superior Elementary and is highly effective in leading adult learning that takes place in our building she always has a smile and a positive attitude which makes her a great partner in the education of her students and I would say I've known Sarah since I've been here and this

is not new to this year in this role she has always been positive including last year when she had quite a class load of kindergartners that was beyond the norm in our district but she took it um in style and did it very well with a smile on her face so we saw you last year we saw the work that you did you did an amazing job and continued to do amazing job in this new role so thank you I want to hand you this and you like us um thanks for coming tonight Sarah you're not required I told you just the husband he has to stay have a good evening thank you all right our second order of informational items from the superintendent at the committee the whole meeting on October 3rd District administrator

to Echo with the board member gapski said it's due to the leadership that we have the opportunities to look at a numerous items during the school year and stuff and because of your leadership the work were informed we're able to make informed decisions ourselves as we continue to move our district forward so thank you a new action item tonight consideration of an overnight field trip request from Michael horek from the Superior Middle School for the DC slash New York City Spring trip 2024. action tonight will be final approval motion to approve second this is a trip we do every year it's a great experience for kids who pays for staff because I rolled into the kids do you want me to talk yeah sure so EF has like a one to ten ratio on chaperones

so for every 10 students what chaperone is allowed to do and that's where the staff shops and we pay for people to it's do we pay for people to attend the the field trip uh well it's during spring break so there's there's too late but the district doesn't pay anything okay okay everything is covered through the students okay sure great opportunity um is there any discussion hearing done holding Behavior High opposed our board committee reports the first committee report was the Personnel in negotiations committee action items Administration recommends approval approval of the October 2022 new hires transfers and separations report promotion to approve second any discussion are we in Lolly are we spot on now and for short a couple tear up positions as a secondary okay what substitutes we're always having your substitutes we

did just take on about 15 substitutes yeah last month we will keep taking on as many as that apply let that apply so we have days where we are never short staff Ed so yeah and then Jamie has a couple positions I think he mentioned that last week and Food Service yeah any other further discussion hearing none all those in favor signify by saying aye aye opposed berries there were no informational items so at this time I would accept a motion to approve the personnel and negotiations committee report seconds any further discussion all in favor signify by saying aye aye opposed motion carries next report was from the teaching and learning committee there were no action items there were no discussion items there were two informational items the first was our director of continuous Improvement

and assessment director Kate Tesh provided information to the committee of the whole about school profiles fall benchmark assessments State data release also there was a question regarding graduation and stuff uh the numbers and the number of people that graduated and about some of the students that had not returned and everything and and Dr starzaki provided us with information in our weekly report so appreciate you sending that to us Casey help good thing Casey helped with that you know she's she's so good at that and then there'll be a further report later on in the year from from the state as they look at our graduation rate and what they come up with so foreign the second informational item was uh information from Carrie Saunders our director of diversity equity and inclusion as she shared updates

about today's indigenous people's day is there any further discussion I just want to say at the event today on the proclamation at the government services Center we had two of our parents from our American Indian education group that spoke about just you know the meeting that's tonight actually at the same happening right now yeah yeah and um you know it hasn't been going on for a few years so Amanda and Desiree did a really nice job representing the parent group of the event today is there anything else to add so at this point I would accept a motion to accept the teaching and learning committee report promotion to accept second all in favor signify by saying aye aye opposed carries our next report was from our budget and insurance action items gifts for answers Administration

recommends approval to accept gifts grants and bequests received in September of 2020. the report again there's a link and click on but it's up on the board here tonight to approve no to approve second so there's Emulsion in a second to approve the gifts grants and bequests any further discussion hearing none all in favor signify by saying aye opposed discussion items the preliminary 2223 Revenue cap Levy projections and DPI Revenue limit worksheet the third Friday enrollment was a task for our review third Friday comp the three-year PC Revenue cap and Levy projection comparison in this report you know this report shows the number of students in our district and we have seen a declining enrollment it looks hopefully that we're going to begin to level out another discussion item that night was the actual transfer

of service Equalization Aid equalized property valuation and Levy information which will be updated next Tuesday October 15th preliminary budget will be published on October 21st and again on October 28th and then the final budget will be presented to the board of education on Tuesday November 1st 2022 at the annual budget hearing informational items that evening the budget hearing is scheduled again for November 1st at 5 pm and there was information provided about the Fontan revenue and express expenditure preliminary reports all those have links for the time see what's happening in our district at this time I would accept the motion for the budget and insurance committee report second is any further discussion hearing none all in favor signify by saying aye opposed some carries our next committee report policies and rules committee we had a

number of action items so the committee recommends the following policy updates that are minor inspired by updates to state and federal laws in just a second and fox feeding first policy was 24 30. District sponsored clubs and activities this we also received an updated information from Dr starzaki is there more to this yeah so that's been changed since the last week over here so my understanding is they don't have to ask permission or they did have to ask permission do we have a motion yet yeah okay sorry that's okay is there a motion in the second most approved second okay we have a motion in a second to consider policy 24 30 and its changes so in general kind of going back to your question Laura in general this change is more detailed than the

poly than the existing policy in um in general the concept is the same uh name was the only thing on here and now it's being recommended we say name and logo and then um I questions raised about well there's not a trademark on our logo you can't protect that however Kyle would you just address the licensing piece and how that um how that protects our school district sure so essentially at common law everything is copyrighted as long as it's something that's an artistic product that identifies with a particular entity so registered trademarks tend to be more as it sounds like a registry of those protections it makes it more clear to the world that your trademark is registered but it has long been the case that for example logos of college and high school teams

are considered works of art that are identified with a particular entity so the cleanup of this was mostly just to make clear that to the extent that we have the that uh for lack of a better term ownership interest over our copyrighted material that to the extent that people were doing things that were inconsistent with the district policies and and guidelines and so forth wouldn't be permitted to use it and that is not a New Concept we have asked clubs and activities and sporting um teams to follow our code of conduct if they're going to use our logo this just puts it in policy um this doesn't I don't want to have to create a system that I have to monitor who's got approval I don't want to have to try to monitor that on

an annual basis however people who don't follow our code of conduct and don't enforce that within their agency would not be allowed to use our name and or logo in the future so this provides that safety net for our district if our name is out there so like for example my son's on the seventh grade traveling team just ordered the jerseys and I'm like oh this is just what we're talking about right as long as they're following the code of conduct and they have been so we this hasn't been an issue we've had one team um that I'm aware of in the last five to ten years that didn't want to follow the code of conduct and so they are not using the superior Spartan name they're using a different name okay thank you yep

yeah so I think I had a lot of those same questions I fully support that they have to follow the student code of conduct because those are good rules and general guidelines to follow my main concern was just the policing of it and if there was signatures needed or anything like that that's good no micromanaging of that so I guess it's just assumed that you can use the name and logo as long as you're following the student code of conduct and if that is broken then we have the right to revoke that right which so that just puts it in writing what we've pretty much been doing okay so is their former notification from like no no okay so they can just choose to use what's changed if you go uh oh what you can't

see in the green here um because we changed it from last week the current policy says no non-district sponsored organization may use our name the Neola update says also add logo and mascot so that's the that's the biggest change to this since they go together is there any further discussion all in favor policy 2430 dignified by saying aye opposed the next policy under consideration was three one seven zero substance abuse is there a motion in a second to accept welcome to the next time second the motion and a second to accept the or deleting this we're deleting this is a replication of other policies within our um policy guide any further discussion all in favor signify by saying aye aye opposed motion carries policy 4162 controlled substance and alcohol policy for commercial Motor Vehicles CMV

drivers motion to approve second to approve the changes four one six two as these changes were in letter d after any accident and then the procedures that must be followed and that's federal law questions or further discussion and none Mike did you get to your question answered from last week on that your phone acid again if I had it thanks okay hearing none then all in favor signify by saying aye opposed motion carries policy 5520 disorderly conduct caution to approve second there's a motion and a second to prove the changes to policy 5520 disorderly conduct discussion hearing none all in favor signify by saying aye aye opposed motion carries the next action item we're used to back tobacco and nicotine and there are four policies that are affected policy three two one five -12 and

0207434 motion to approve second in a second to approve all four tobacco and nicotine parts I believe we asked for an amendment because of the duplication of language in the nicotine by students is that no um we changed the one that had to do with staff thank you because it still referred to students got I think are we doing one umbrella here or are we doing each one for this one or was it the student line Sorry I said it backwards okay so the student one referred to staff so we took the staff piece out sorry I did that backwards now I have just another again I I've kind of gone back and forth is this a big deal or not uh the shredded bubble gum thing I I don't know is this something that

again maybe students aren't going to get in trouble for it but then why have it in our policy um one of my kids just came home even this week with the big league two and so I don't know our baseball players and I don't know so it says on here it shall be a violation of this policy if any visitor or student I mean depending on the policy of this reason so it could be a visiting team that's using big league two it says um yeah or a student of our our team um it shall be a violation of this policy of a student consumes displays or promotes tobacco products and that includes imitation tobacco products so a couple things I think about is why Neil is recommending this is in there is because if

students were pretending to use cigarettes or for example using beef jerky chew I'll just say from a principal perspective I don't know if you've got a chewing that's real too or if that's beef jerky it's still it almost demonstrates that that's acceptable behavior and that's modeling up against the policy that we currently have that you're not supposed to use tobacco products I'm assuming that's why that's in there from Neil is recommended and that wants it anywhere else you know I mean it's just on School prep and it's like it's a violation so it just simply it doesn't say you're suspended right but I could say we're asking for ramification for a kid either way bubble gum or yeah and I'm not asking about the jerky really if someone really wants to go full extreme model

what's the ramifications because that's in the policy well I think this allows people to say you know what we're not going to have fake chew on the baseball field please put it away um and you'll if you look at a student code of conduct that's a different conversation and we don't have anything I was doing code conduct about imitation tobacco products I guess I would like to amend it and just have the shredded bubble gum part taken out but again it's not a massive deal but I think that visiting teams for baseball and our teams that's just a common you know the big league too I'm not talking about the jerky just I'm just saying the Big League Chew is also a um what's the word I'm looking for your model you're demonstrating behavior that

is not appropriate even though it's not the right um it's marketed that way to kids and so we're not encouraging students to use tobacco on the baseball team as an example but I'll do what you guys want me to do the student would be kicked off the team for using there's nothing in our code of conduct that says you'd be kicked off the baseball team we're using we'd probably ask you to put it away unless you want me to amend the floor conduct to include that and so I'm all for not giving the Impressions using stuff I think that's important but also I don't want to see if it's suspended for chewing gum or beef jerky either so it's kind of policy is pretty specific about when it comes to the code conduct it's just

that you get the one person that goes extreme and make sure that that's not I don't know the bubble gum you don't really I don't again I it's I'm probably making it a bigger deal than it is so it's all right I agree with both sides of this is the top because the the bubble gum is packaged like big league shoe so any type of leaf tobacco um the look-alike product that is a problem but then when you do find out that it's bubble gum and it's actually wrong that they're marketing that to kids this problem it's grooming kids too through those behaviors the habit of it that's what leads to it I'm sure Ed knows a lot of baseball players would be chewing you know back in my day when watching them play and

just a thing we just don't need to encourage that type of behavior I had to Google it too much don't necessarily encourage it in my household but that's the bubble gum of choice during the baseball season so I also don't think imitation stuff warrants significant discipline either though so it doesn't say anything about discipline as I said like maybe they'd be asked to just put it away and then if it continues that would just be handled that'd be insubordination or something else it's like where we that's the other part of this is is it going to be enforced because if it's in our policy are we going to be enforcing it or I think the language here allows an athletic director to walk up to a team and say hey can you put it away

if that wasn't here they'd say it's not real this just allows us to say we don't Market or we don't endorse that activity is is there any section in there that talks about because kids do some kids do smoke or use chew certainly in there about using beef jerky as a substitute to as a using actual tobacco or anything like that thank you like if a kid comes to the kid comes to school saying I use jerky so I don't actually chew no because I'd still potentially have something visible and other kids wouldn't know and it would be I don't think that we would do that is got a little bit of it let's do whatever you want begin to buy a bubble gum from a normal sheep it's not just my kids though that

I'm I'm just being real I'll buy you a supply trying to think of the buckets though too well in the buckets Double Bubble but yeah at Dick's Sporting Goods they have The Chew in the big buckets as well so so the code of conduct it simply addresses illegal substances so possession of tobacco products or vaping or electronic cigarettes so there's nothing in our code of conduct that says students would be disciplined or suspended for having those but I say leave it so then we don't give the impression that we will get there's no discipline then why have it image because as you said Ella could go up to the kids and be like you know what we don't allow tobacco imitation items please put that away because it's encouraging healthy Behavior into adulthood you know

not that saying all those kids will smoke but I definitely remember with the you know candy cigarettes like why would we be imitating it's grooming kids to like use tobacco I mean they Market them perfect you know let's just buy different gum it gives lots of flexibility but again it's not promoting I mean how many other schools did our Neola rep say you know are following this because it is best practices it is you know the type of behavior as a public school role model I'd like to keep it as is and call the question maybe possible that we're trying to restrict concessions too but we wouldn't allow this in concessions right but now we have it in policy so if it wasn't concessions we could restrict it proof okay there's been a call for

the question so then if this is maybe this is a silly question then if teams are utilizing our name and logo then this is off limits two then because I know Big League two is sold at SVO that kind of thing so would that be uh code of content right well if they're on our property they shouldn't be selling this thing I I don't know again it's it's a little but it's so Laura did you want to vote yes that's your request still then we would have to separate um no amendment's been made yet no there hasn't been any amendment made it's just the whole slate yes do they have to vote on call the question first Robert's Rules yep so that means they have to vote if they want to stop the conversation or

that's correct yeah so I would have to make an amendment right now well Steve needs to have full of vote on the call the question okay there's been a requests for all the questions so all in favor of the question um on the vote signify by saying aye aye pause so this is voting against this no no this is to call the vote so that there's a vote taken now without further discussion okay because you needed four I was doing the math okay motion is approved no the call you can call the call oh you got it now you gotta vote on the policies so sorry Steve sorry I'm learning so now the call called for the question of approving motion and the second to approve through 15 40-15 55 12. all in favor signify

by saying aye aye opposed opposed to God just because of the bubble gum okay that's so foreign all right did you get that Anne okay for goofing that up a little bit ah so and the policies and rules committee there were no discussion items and there were no informational items there was one information I'm sorry so risk the three results associate he was here and presenting information to the committee of the whole about Neola Ford docks neolas purpose neola's history and their participation here in our district so at this time I wouldn't accept the motion to approve the policies and rules committee report question to approve second the motion in a second all in favor signify by saying aye opposed motion carries oh good I forget the little polls the next was the operations committee

there were no action items no discussion items informational items at our committee of the whole meeting on October 3rd 2022 Jamie Wilson director of food service gave updates on our district Food Service program we also heard that evening on October 3rd from Paul wintershite Patrol Captain as he gave an update on our safety partnership with Superior Police Department at this time I would accept the motion for approving the operations committee report move to approve second the motion in a second is there any further discussion all in favor signify by saying aye opposed motion carries legislature the legislative committee report no action items no discussion items there were two informational items the article can be found on the legislative updates on the wasbe website DPI submits 2.5 billion state budget requests for schools State superintendent Jill

underly has submitted the Department of Public Instruction 2023-25 state budget requests for funding public schools and libraries this is the official beginning of the state budget process for public schools as this request sets the marker that the next Governor will work from in proposing his budget early next year full article full article can be found by clicking the link the other informational item the following information was taken from the superior Telegram public notice section on September 16 2022 and is a federal law pertaining to certain rights of parents the protection of pupil Rights Amendment ppra the protection of people rights affords parents of Elementary and secondary students certain rights regarding the conduct of surveys collection and use of information for marketing purposes and certain physical exams parents have certain rights to consent to consent before

myself second is there any further discussion hearing none all in favor signify by saying I I opposed Fulton carries our next item other reports by members of the board so I was going to bring up her school visits I took notes for myself broken Steve but I want to put out there for the rest of you because there's still more visits uh at the end of the month if we want a briefing from us now or do we want to tell anybody else has the opportunity to go out at 10 a month and do them in November I think you can go ahead and speak on what you experienced last week oh yeah I get a lot got a lot of times um so we did visit uh at least Steve Olsen Brooke and I

visited every school like motivation on that statement what's your motivation behind making this thing oh goodness Mike with no motivation here I'm just talking about our school visits really as we proceed I would suggest that we move forward to the rest of the board done so that everybody does the school visits let's wait till they end all the visits oh all right that's why yes that's what you want I keep my notes though I think speaking with one voice is the code of conduct for the sport I think you've seen three people's names twice seems motivated and unnecessary like you take it personal there's no motivation I'm talking about what happened I I frankly I don't understand what's true and what's your problem I know you don't that's the problem super unfortunate uh that you

would do that yes we do have to bring forward a report though at some point so because that's what the purpose of the visits were um yeah how many how many visit dates are there's two left October 25th and 26th can we meet in closed session and then that way it comes from the entire board to talk about a report no I'm looking at Kyle but I think that's enough I'd have to look at the yeah I don't off the top of my head I can't think of a closed session thing that would fit in we can also an open session discuss individually what everybody encountered and everybody can hear I'm willing to share my own report well I'm wanting to make it a way that it's like on behalf of the entire board you

know I think what I'm saying sure repeating twice who was there seems targeted and consistent with but you need to get off that it's not targeted it's not nothing against you or anybody else anything you need to show a little bit more respect here and for everybody we follow board conduct and do so in a non-targeted way so there's a reason I asked if we should wait till everybody has had the opportunity to go and it was so agreed at least through some people to go ahead and talk about it so I'm happy with the waiting I'm happy with talking now but it has there's there's no I guess uh motive as you would call behind me talking it's showing some respect to the schools that we visited the teachers that we talked with what

we learned what we heard and sharing it with the rest of the board so that you guys are all informed of what we experienced as well as I would imagine you would do the same for the rest of us I think that's going to be the same way for the meet and confers that not all of us can be in attendance so it's going to have to be the few representing and bringing back the information and so I don't and I'm happy to share my couple of things that I wanted to add to it as well but I'm not sure how I would share that on behalf of the whole board when it's my view of the visits I don't know if you like Mike I would uh allow Steve or Brooke to talk instead

of me if it's just if it's me that's the problem my I don't think I said that my perspective is just again like how do we speak as a board not as individual so um maybe I don't know how to solve this right now but again like I I like that it's fresh in your mind that makes sense to me but also like somehow coming together and how a report are coming up with an idea that it's again speaking as one voice and not as individuals in some way I don't know well I do I do think we all have observations that we take away that is important to share those observations with the rest of the board I guess the only request I have is if you have observations or questions about things you

saw I guess I would ask that you would ask those of me because there's probably some context around maybe some things you saw so you may not have all the context and I don't I have no idea what you what you are observed so what we're hearing I guess my question is if you have concerns or questions it would be important I think to ask some of those things because there may be more context I can tell you no I didn't have any concerns so I'm happy to start if if I think I heard Mike say he wants to wait one comment I mean my one comment was to a very specific component of what you're saying but one person can't stop the whole report so by all means to proceed I'm saying in order

for me to feel like we're speaking with one voice repeating the names of the people that went twice within a minute seems a little redundant and intentional and so I'm saying that to respect the other board members on the board who worked in attendance or able to yet that you just simply respect that that's all I'm asking and your defensiveness makes me uncomfortable I'm struggling because I think it's important that unless you want my words to be yours I I don't know I was saying that well if he has one board so he was clarifying who was there I I don't want to get into it I really don't but I'm happy to share my short update if that's the route we want to go I I don't I'm happy to share it too I

don't know how to move forward from this right now and it's okay for another board member to speak their mind just as you did well whatever the board wants is fun Steve do you want to share at all I can share but um I'm wondering the thought went through my mind if we want to be one voice is it something that you we submit to the board president um Len we submit our notes and everything and then he puts things together um and then is the one voice that speaks at um at the meeting that we decide where we're given the report um on such and such a date um you know visits were made to this particular school and here's what the board the board members that were present uh reported um I do

Wonder also though about what what you said Brooke so we are going to have these individual other meetings come up the maintenance I think those are a little bit different to the point that not all of us are going to be able to well and that will have a note taker as well and they will have great yeah and I'll be the facilities I like the idea of um everything going to Len from folks and then if there are contacts needed if there are questions or concerns yeah the opportunity she can go to Amy Amy yeah that makes the most sense to me or you can I have no questions or concerns I just I kind of wanted to thank everyone and give you know a debriefing about what I would imagine if Lynn speaks

there's still amp block 24 discussion yes right I would like to propose that we before with that concept that um we would hand over our notes on any of any of the board members that make any of those any of the schools that are included on certain days that we submit our information to the board president then can lack of better term tabulate everything and then share out Cheryl okay there's questions you can let him know that okay can you get flooded with notes and he'll find out I don't want this to be a point of contention for anyone that's not the purpose of these visits um we all have our different reasons for going into the buildings I know my during the Spring was to get to see the facilities because I hadn't been

in all of the buildings but again each of us has our own reason for going in and it's so I don't I don't want it to be if you get there you get there if you don't you don't if it's if you're interested if you're not there should be really no sounds like we have a good plan you're right there should be no contention well it's similar to responding to inquiries from the public staff members and things like that there's certain questions and certain summaries that go directly to be present in order for him to follow the chain of command on doing that and I feel like this is the opportunity to stray from that and I would like to have the plan followed that we just discussed foreign interesting other topic too then of

emails from the public and sharing emails and responses with the group and maybe with the public as well which kind of there's a condo any any kind of emails any clear conduct on all this to be handled and we can ask our legal team about any questions we have about it what's once emails come to us they become public so other than they responds whether they will become you know in a meeting or email I think we can probably figure out a way to discuss all those emails too because we all get emails but none of us here's a discussion because we can't talk Talk Amongst each other right you certainly you certainly can't have conversations over email maybe bring those emails up in meetings that that should be something to do as well let's

let's look at are we are are we all good with first of all um preparing our visit notes and providing them to our board president yes for him to Cheryl yep and we still have two more site visit dates yep okay so the second part um on the emails and everything we're trying to put together a date where everybody can meet either the ninth or yeah that's already not going to work we are already looking for new dates whenever we get the update solidified where all board members can hopefully be present I I would think that that conversation um would be brought up I think so yeah as well as maybe the site visits yeah that's the purpose of the retreat is to come up with working lack of a better word norms for how

we're gonna work together for the school year okay so any other reports by members of the board did you have an update from season 12. uh no okay thanks so oh okay I thought you had one okay something no I do have one the uh the Hall of Fame uh thank you we've turned after two-year Hiatus and and uh at our Hall of Fame banquet recognizing academic and athletic uh recipients of the awards and stuff it was very well attended um it was just an exciting night I I did get to the MC for the event so I got to read a lot um about the accomplishments of the teams of the individuals and and everything um the number of people um being a little bit older that returned to the event and stuff what

was amazing to be able to sit and talk with those people at the high school that that evening was was really something else one of the requests and gave minor put it but it was more than Dave Dave put it in writing at maybe next year's event and stuff we've scheduled a time to have a tour of the building and stuff because there were so so many ex-people that remember the old building the circle and stuff and then that came from a number of people that evening so um I'm going to meet with Ella and uh and not as a board member but as a Committee Member um on that Hall of Fame committee and talk about a few things that we'd like to see um added changed just to make that event much better

I was also maybe very very impressed with our new sound system in the pack my goodness what a tremendous uh overdue overdue and very much yeah lighting and the new seats and the carpet I mean it was again people that return that haven't been in the new building and remember the old building they never saw the pack when it was built in 1995 and now to see that there have been improvements made differences in awe it was just a wonderful evening but everything looks so tied together in the pack too that chairs the carpet everything just ties in really well it's it yeah it flows very nicely and especially when I heard that the carpet um there was it it didn't make the carpet that we originally chose yeah we had the last second chain

um Kudos also to uh Dan Horst and Bill Cockerham um in the old Fayette hallway that that oh that's all the things back up there is now the sphere Hall of Fame academic and athletic Hall of Fame the facts have been put backups are all up and it it just it just ties in so nice so if you get a chance on a visit or or whatever if you're in the building for a basketball game whatever you're in there for um take a peek at that request are there any other reports from any board members any other District or programs bully prevention should do a really good job of coordinating activities and lessons around that we have a second step is our lesson that we use um A8 so that's been a resource for us

but it's something that uh we're intentional about it's important um and I would say our speak up speak out app has also been a very helpful tool in students making reports and tips if they see or or are even a victim of bullying if they see it or if they're a victim of it students are doing a good job of that and so that's been a good resource also it's um fire prevention I believe that it's weak and so elementary students are going through some fire safety lessons and as I mentioned last time October is principal appreciation month and so as you see principles please help me uh appreciate them their work they work hard and and do good work and their role is really important in our schools so that's all I got all

right thank you the next item consideration of bills and pre-approved bills to approve second there's a discussion like Steve stupak says pay the bills I was just going to say none all in favor signify by saying aye aye opposed Gary and are there any comments by members of the public this evening okay with that we are adjourned thank you all right um going to sign that I think Ann probably wants that yeah no field trip yeah me too I haven't heard my kids have better writing than
