It's my pleasure to introduce and welcome up the PBSIS District Coordinator, Paula Regosa. The Clifton Board of Education is proud to recognize Mr. John Brooks, security specialist. Mr. John Brooks, security specialist at Woodrow Wilson Middle School. As this month's PBSIS showcase staff member, his daily efforts foster a safe, welcoming, and caring school environment, making him an invaluable member

of the Woodrow Wilson community and a model of PBSIS excellence. Mr. Brooks is a superstar. We are here. We are very, very thankful. Commissioners, Dr. Robitose, Central Administration. So here we go. Before we can teach any curriculum, two things have to happen first. Our students must be in school, and they must be able to demonstrate the behaviors needed to engage in learning. PBSIS research reminds us that the attendance... behavior, and relationships form the foundation for everything that happens in the classroom. The National Threat Assessment Center also emphasizes this point. Their research consistently shows that one of the strongest protective factors in any school is a positive, trusting relationship between students and the adults around them. When students feel emotionally and physically safe, when they feel seen and connected, they are far more likely to attend

school, engage positively, and succeed academically. At Woodrow Middle School, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, one person who embodies this work every single day is Mr. Brooks, security specialist. Mr. Brooks understands that the true school safety is not just about procedures or supervision, it's about relationships. It's about knowing students by name, listening to them, and showing them that they belong. Students and adults alike feel safer emotionally and physically because of the presence he brings and the connections he builds. In addition to his role as a security specialist, Mr. Brooks also serves as a PBSAS universal tier member and a check-in, check-out mentor, providing daily encouragement and accountability to students who need a little bit of extra support. Those few minutes of connections that he provides each day, those authentic conversations, are exactly the kind of protective factors

that PBIS and NTAC point to as essential for student success. To truly understand the difference that Mr. Brooks makes, it's best to hear it for some of the people whose lives he touches. Mr. Horn, hit it, please. That tonight's gonna be a good night. Mr. Brooks, from the moment he steps into Woodrow's door to the moment he leaves, goes above and beyond every single day for our Woodrow Wilson Middle School community. He effortlessly puts a smile on anybody's face. You have to understand that when we asked for folks to come forth and say a little something about Mr. Brooks or a picture or a message, we actually had to say to folks, we got to keep it under five to six minutes. Because, you know, we got to, but we have so much footage that

we're going to share with you because everyone had something to say, Mr. Brooks. It's not only the research. It's not only everything that we embody in the Clifton School community. You represent all of it. You represent the life. And I'm just going to keep talking until we queue it up to the right place because this is why we're here. With all that being said, I am hoping that the video does work out because your colleagues had some beautiful things to say for you as well as our student body. But essentially, you know that safety is not only about responding to moments of need. It's about preventing them from... preventing them through trust, respect, and daily interactions. But most importantly, and this is the part that I truly believe and that everybody said, your presence is

reassuring and deeply human. It would be John Brooks, the man who lives, breathes, and loves helping children on a regular basis. Thank you, Mr. Brooks, for all that you do. Thank you, Mr. Brooks. Good man. Mr. Brooks, I truly believe that you are one of the best things that has ever happened to this school. You make us all want to strive to be our best selves, and you truly demonstrate what it means to be all in here at Woodrow. Thank you for who you are and what you do, and we're so proud to call you one of our own. Thank you, and congratulations, Mr. Brooks. Mr. Brooks, we love you so much. Thank you for putting a smile on everybody's face every single day. Mr. Brooks, congratulations. You all deserve. You literally are such a

huge part of Woodrow, and it wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you for everything that you do. We love you. Love you! Mr. Brooks, just want to say congratulations and thank you for all of the good that you bring to our building. Thank you for always starting our day off with a smile, being positive, opening up conversation, checking in on how we're feeling. Thank you for believing us. Thank you for your insightful wisdom, and thank you for always giving us something to look forward to. Anytime kids see you, they walk away with a smile on their face. Same goes for staff. We are so fortunate. Congratulations to you, Mr. Brooks. Could not go to somebody more deserving. Thank you for being all in. Mr. Brooks comes to work every day and he makes a

positive impact on the students and the staff. By using PBSIS strategies, he ensures that the kids have an environment where they can really thrive. His presence in that school significantly improves the climate and honestly creates a... FOS is a culture where the kids feel valued, safe, and ready to learn. So congratulations, Mr. Brooks. You're one of a kind. Mr. Brooks is a great role model for our students, especially in the cafeteria. I see him always going and making an extra effort to sit and talk with the individual kids. They really love him, and they need him. He's a great guy. Mr. Brooks! We'd be lost without you. Thank you for everything you do in our school and for the Veterans Club. Mr. Brooks, you are the glue that holds Woodrow Wilson Middle School together. We

love you. Love you. We love you so much, Mr. Brooks. You're the best. The best. The best. So Mr. Brooks is the true definition of what a mentor really should be. Mr. Brooks is, from the day he's walked into our building, he has been a mentor to not only the students, but also set an unbelievable example for all of us staff members as to how we should be treating kids and how we should be talking to kids. He's really been an inspiration and a true role model for all of us. Thank you, Mr. Brooks. you are the heart and soul of Woodrow. The students love you, the staff appreciates you, and we all respect you. Hey, Mr. Brooks, thanks for all you do. We love you here, the staff, the students. We love your kind

heart, your compassion, your empathy. You are all of what Woodrow needs. Thank you. We love you. Brooks! Thank you for literally funding our... all of our fundraisers. You are the best. Too many donuts. Buy all the donuts and we can all the kids. You are. Fine donuts, whether it's pies, cookies. Cheesecakes, everything. We truly appreciate all that you do here. Congrats, folks. Bye, buddy. What can I say about Mr. Brooks? He always goes above and beyond. Mr. Brooks has not only embraced our PBIS framework, but he's elevated it. He's been intentional, consistent, and genuinely invested in building positive relationships with our students. Whether he's reinforcing expectations, celebrating positive behaviors, or stepping in to support a student having a tough moment, he does so with professionalism and with heart. What stands out most? He's never been

asked to do any of this. He's stepped up on his own. He's become a model for what it looks like when security is integrated into a school community, not just as guardians of safety, but as partners in creating a positive, supportive environment. So thank you, Mr. Brooks, for your leadership, your commitment, and proving every day that this work matters. We appreciate you. Thank you, Mr. Brooks. Congratulations. We love you. Congratulations Mr. Brooks. Thank you Mr. Brooks. We appreciate you Mr. Brooks. You're the best Mr. Brooks. Congratulations. Hi Mr. Brooks, it's Jada. We want to congratulate you on this honor. We love you. Let's give it up for Mr. Brooks. Congratulations to everyone this evening. We need to do some official business yet. So if you don't want to speak with us this evening, you're certainly

free to leave. If you'd like to stay, you're more than welcome to stay. But I have to open up next to our public recognition.
