Good evening, everybody. Happy New Year. Item 1.1 is convene regular meeting. Our regular meeting is called to order at 6 p.m. Today is Tuesday, January 13th, 2026. This is our first governing board meeting of the new calendar year. Item 1.2 is roll call. Will board members please state their name for the record? Cedric Collins. Benny Davis. Amy Satry. Trina Nelson. Kevin Walsh. Let the record show we have five board members present this evening. Item 1.3 is call to order organizational meeting. At this time, I'll call together our organizational meeting for the Kyrene Governing Board pursuant to Policy 1103. Our organizational meeting is called to order at 6.01 p.m. So, community, for the board, you know this. But at our first board meeting of every calendar year, we have what's called the organizational meeting, which means

the board determines who the leadership will be for that year, president and vice president. So the very first thing that we're going to do, which is item 1.4, is our election of the Kyrene Governing Board president. Board members, this is just like we did last year. The process will be as follows. Anybody can be nominated for the role of governing board president. It's a one-year term. That nomination doesn't need a second. If we've got a nomination, I will ask the person who's been nominated to accept the nomination. Once we have that nomination, I'll see if anybody else wants to be nominated for that role. Once we have all the nominations for the governing board president, anybody can take a motion and then we'll vote on that person for the governing board president. If there's a

switch, we'll do a little bit of switcheroo and then we'll move forward to do the vice president. Same process. We'll take nominations for vice president. We'll make sure everybody has a chance to be nominated and then we'll vote on the vice president. Any questions on that process? All right. Item 1.4 is election of the 2026 governing board president. So I will start by saying I've just finished my seventh year on the governing board. I have been, I had the privilege of serving in leadership for all seven of those years. First to his vice president, last five years as president. It's been an amazingly rewarding experience, challenging at times, but without exception, one of the greatest honors of my life. With that being said, I am not going to be seeking leadership for this year. I

think it's time for other board members to have that opportunity. And as my board knows, my family was blessed to welcome a new Kyrene kid, our fifth Kyrene kid earlier this month. Baby girl born on January 1st, New Year's Day. So I'm going to be spending a little bit more time with family. So I am looking forward to supporting whoever is serving in that role in this upcoming year. With that being said, would someone like to make a nomination for the Kyrene Governing Board President for the 2026 year? I would. Member Collins. I would like to nominate Kevin. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm going to walk out. No, real talk, real talk. I had to do it to you. I would like to nominate Vice President Nelson. She's been here and put in

the work. So I would like to nominate Vice President Nelson. Very good. Thank you, Member Collins. Vice President Nelson, do you accept the nomination? I do. Thank you. Are there any other nominations for governing board president? All right. Seeing none, I will make a motion to elect Vice President Nelson as the president for the 2026 year. Is there a second to that motion? Second. Lots of it. Second by Member Davis. Second by Member Collins. All those in favor, please say aye. Aye. Any opposed? Motion passes 5-0. Congratulations, President Nelson. And now we get to play musical chairs. Emotional support water bottle. Doing the nameplate switch, too. We've got to make it official. Excellent. All right. Item 1.5, election of the governing board vice president. At this time, I'll accept nominations for the Kyrene board vice

president for 2026. If there are any other nominations, I see plenty of your mics. Yes. I'd like to nominate Amy Satry. Okay. Are there any other nominations? Member Satri, is this a nomination you would accept? Yes, I would be honored to accept. Great. Any other motions? Any other nominations? All right. Then I will go ahead and make a motion to elect Member Satri as Vice President of the Kyrene Governing Board for 2026. Is there a second? Second. Second. Great. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Motion passes 5-0. Kevin has to sit next to me. I'm thrilled to be here. All right. Okay. Item 1.6, adjournment of organizational meeting. May I have a motion to adjourn the organization meeting? Yes, I have. So moved. Is there a second? Second. Second by Member Satri. All in favor

say aye. Aye. Motion passes 5-0. The organizational meeting is adjourned at 6.07 p.m. And then everybody's already reseated themselves, so we'll go ahead and dive right into our regular meeting, which is also called to order at 6.07 p.m. At this time, all blue cards need to be turned into the board secretary. request to speak to the governing board. Our school board meetings are held in public to conduct the business of the district. Kyrene School District believes education is a partnership between school and home, and we not only respect the rights of parents and guardians, but value their role in our district. Students thrive when we all work together. As always, board meetings will be streamed live on the internet. For those who cannot watch the meeting live, a recording will be made available and posted

online within 48 hours. Board agendas may be obtained from the district office and the Kyreid website 24 hours in advance of each board meeting. Our superintendent, Laura Tenyes, and senior leadership are with us tonight, as well as many of our Kyreid families and students. I'm going to start with item 1.8, which is a moment of silence and pledge of allegiance. And I see the proud principal of Kyreid Middle School in the back, Mr. Scott Maxwell. And I would ask if he would lead us in the pledge in a moment of silence. to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Item 1.9 is our land acknowledgement. Kyrene School District acknowledges that our community of schools is

located on the ancestral lands of the O'odham and Peefosh peoples who have inhabited these lands since time immemorial. With this land acknowledgement, the district formally recognizes that traditional care and keeping of these lands by Native peoples allow us to be here today. And item 1.10 is the Kyrene Promise. And we promise to provide welcoming, inclusive learning environments in which every student is honored, valued, and feels a strong sense of belonging and purpose. We promise to provide rigorous, responsive learning environments in which every student is given what they need to develop knowledge, skills, confidence, and a passion for learning. We promise to provide vibrant world-class learning environments in which every student believes they are empowered and prepared to make a meaningful impact on a rapidly changing world. Item 2.1 is preview and approval of the agenda.

Are there any changes anybody would like to make tonight's agenda? All right. Seeing none, may I have a motion to approve tonight's agenda? So moved. Second. Second. Motion by Member Walsh, seconded by Member Davis. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Great. Motion passes 5-0. Item 3.1, our Superintendent Report. Thank you, President Nelson, governing board members this evening, staff here this evening, families, community members, both in person and watching online. I have a little bit to share as we welcome this new year and second semester of school for this school year. There we go. So first I want to start with, for those that may not be aware, January is known as School Board Recognition Month nationally. It is an important opportunity to recognize the service of our governing board. Our board members give generously of

their time and their energy, and over the past year they have continued to demonstrate that they approach challenging decisions with a deep commitment to students and our community. I am so thankful for their leadership. their partnership, and the care that they bring to their work on behalf of Kyrene. So stay tuned. This month, you're going to see some special shout outs to our governing board members as well, either on social media and in our next governing board meeting. So thank you again to all of our governing board members. One second, I'm a little out of order here. Kyrene is full of excellence and now is your chance to help us celebrate. There are two ways to recognize Kyrene throughout our community. The Tempe Diablo's Excellence in Education Award nominations are still open and you can

send in nominations through the end of January. Staff, students, parents, and community members can nominate Kyrene employees in a variety of categories. Also, the Best of Ahwatukee voting is also open through the end of January. The community can vote for the Best Elementary and Middle School Teacher, Best Preschool, and new this year, Best Principal. It'll be the first time they've offered that award. If you don't see your option listed, you are encouraged to write it in. Kyrene is also eligible for the Best Place to Work, and the Kyrene Foundation is nominated for the Best Nonprofit. Thank you for helping us recognize and celebrate our staff and schools. I am excited to share that Kyrene De La Murata Leadership Academy has been named a Stephen Covey Lighthouse School, joining an elite group of just 600 schools

worldwide to receive this distinction. This recognition honors the school's exceptional culture of leadership where students, staff, and families work together to develop leadership skills through the seven habits, student voice, and shared decision-making. From student-led conferences in classroom, goal-setting to school-wide leadership events and a culture of caring and affirmation, Murata exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose. They now join Kyrene De Los Cerritos, which earned its Lighthouse designation in 2017, highlighting the continued strength and innovation of our Kyrene schools. For over 135 years, Kyrene has continued to deliver high-quality learning experiences across every school and grade level. From preschool to promotion and every milestone in between, our focus remains on academic excellence, strong relationships, and student success. We also want to remind families that you can get a sneak peek of our campuses from the

comfort of home by taking a virtual tour. Virtual tours are available for each of our campuses. and provide a unique glimpse into our schools. You can learn more about Kyrene's offerings and the enrollment process online at kyrene.org slash kyrenekids. There we go. I also just want to do a shout out. Our middle school showcase nights are coming to prepare for enrollment the month of January. You can see the dates here. They're also online, I believe, on our social media and on our enrollment page. And each of our middle schools will be hosting a showcase event. Also, just a reminder, we are still hiring bus drivers. So we are constantly hiring bus drivers, but we are looking for bus drivers, monitors, and fit drivers. CDL and non-CDL positions are available. And community education before and after

school club leaders. Make a difference in students' daily lives, enjoy flexible schedules, and be a part of a supportive, rewarding team. Apply today. And if you know somebody, please share this with them and help students learn, grow, and thrive. As always, you can view open positions at kyrene.org slash careers. As Dr. King shared... If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward. This quote inspires us to keep learning, reflecting, and taking steps, big or small, toward a more just and compassionate world. As a reminder, Kyrene Schools and the District Office will be closed on Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In addition to what students are learning in the classroom, We

wanted to share a free resource that is accessible to our entire community. The Coretta Scott King Virtual Gallery is an engaging online resource that features art, stories, and historical context connected to Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. The resource can be accessed at thekingcenter.org. And I wanted to end my report tonight with an important message from some of our Kyrene kids and staff. As part of our attendance campaign, we asked students what they would have missed if they weren't at school for a day. Their answers prove that every student looks forward to a different part of the school day. And this is a wonderful reminder of how every day counts in Kyrene. If I didn't come to school today, I would have missed. Learning about math, specifically fractions. I would miss out

on learning and being with my friends. You would have to stay at home and you couldn't go outside. I would miss the turkey trot and my... And my teachers would dress as turkeys. I would miss math and circling numbers. If I miss school, then I would miss out on all of you. I wouldn't have any opportunities to give high fives and see all of your smiling faces here. It is really, really fun being at school, and you really miss out when you're not here. My 4-H club, which is like gardening. And the reason I love doing gardening is because I've always liked growing stuff. And when I was little, I tried growing pumpkin seeds, but I didn't know how to, so they didn't turn out as good. You get to play with friends and learning

something new. You get educational and your brain, and you learn something new. And that's good, to learn stuff new. And that concludes my superintendent update. Thank you. Item 3.2, board member statements. Do board members have any statements tonight? I just want to welcome everybody back. Hope everybody had a good holiday and a happy new year. And let's work together to make 2026 super, super year for Kyrene. I think we're up to it. And I look forward to working with everyone to get the best education we can, public education, public education that we can for our friends and our kids. Thank you. Any other board members have any statements this evening? I echo Member Davis. Everybody, welcome back to a wonderful spring semester. I know that it is a very exciting time of year. We've got

our quarter three sports happening. But again, today was also one of the... Well, yesterday actually was the opening day of the legislature. But, you know, a lot of interesting public education bills will be happening. So I just encourage this is a very involved community to stay engaged with what's happening up at the Capitol. Item 4.1, the best part of the night, is our Kyrene Super students. So Kyrene Super students are nominated by their school principal and are chosen based on core competencies outlined in the portrait of a Kyrene kid. And you can see that over here. Those competencies are adaptable learner, a self-advocate, community contributor, a communicator, critical thinker, problem solver, or collaborator. A Kyrene Super student exemplifies those values, and they do so in the classroom, on campus, and outside of campus. All of

our super students tonight are going to receive a certificate and a token of congratulations from local business partners, including KTR, Jeremiah's Isaac's Pizza, and the Kyrene Foundation. So what will happen now, students, as your name is read, you're going to come up to the front here and you're going to stay up here while one of the board members reads a wonderful statement that your principal has written about you. And once that's in, you'll kind of go off to the side. And once all students have been... have had their nominations read. We'll take a group photo. Parents, you can come up and take pictures as well. Get all the good angles. And we will make sure that that opportunity is afforded to you. So we'll go ahead and get started. Yes, we're going to start with

Member Collins. All right. Welcome back, everyone. My super student of the night. is from the Kyrene Traditional Academy, Cruz Gonzalez, first grade. Cruz is being recognized as an adaptable learner. Cruz is new to KTA this year, and we are so happy he is at our school. He has had some big obstacles to overcome in starting at a new school after a rough kindergarten experience. He is giving it his all, becoming increasingly independent and making tons of friends along the way. We love seeing his growth and progress. We are so happy Cruz is a KTA Tiger. I almost wanted to roar at the end of that. Okay, I have a stupor student as well. I have Riley Valley from second grade at Kyrene De La Colina. Riley is being recognized as a community contributor. Riley Valley

is a community contributor because she is kind, welcoming, and includes others in recess and group work. She volunteers in our CCD classroom once a week. She has positive interactions with adults as well and does big classroom chores without being asked. Riley has such a big heart and puts others' needs before her own. She is a true friend and community contributor. Congratulations, Riley. I am super excited to introduce Connor Estes. Connor is an eighth grader at Kyrene Traditional Academy and is being recognized as a community contributor. Connor is an amazing student and was a true eighth grade leader at science camp. He has been with KTA for many years and is an all-around great kid. He is in advanced classes, is kind to everyone, and continues to build his skills by trying new things this year,

like wrestling. Connor is a leader in his classes and among his peers and is a true role model for all students at KTA. We are proud of Connor as a KTA Tiger. Please join me in giving a big round of applause to our next super student from the Kyrene Middle School. She is eighth grader Isabella Garcia Ruiz Tarasquina. Isabella is being recognized as an adaptable learner. Isabella is an outstanding example of an adaptable learner, demonstrating curiosity, flexibility, and perseverance across a wide range of academic and extracurricular pursuits. A native Russian speaker, Isabella is also part of the KMS dual-language Spanish program and is proficient in Spanish while currently in her third year studying Mandarin at KMS. That's impressive. Her ability to successfully navigate and excel in multiple languages reflects a willingness to embrace challenge, adapt

to new learning environments, and persist through complex tasks. Congratulations, Isabella. And it's my pleasure, and I hope you'll join me in welcoming Cameron Bell, who's an eighth grader at Kyrene Middle School. Cameron Bell is highly deserving of the Kyrene Super Student Award as he exemplifies the core competency of community contributor outlined in the portrait of a Kyrene kid. He currently serves as the student council president and is the main anchor on KMS TV every Tuesday and Thursday morning, roles in which he consistently demonstrates responsibility, leadership, and school pride. Cameron spearheaded the KMS food drive in partnership with student council, directly supporting families within our school community, as well as through the Kyrene Family Resource Center. His leadership resulted in a meaningful and lasting impact on those in need. In addition to his service work, Cameron

was a vocal leader on the varsity basketball team and serves as a mentor to his peers, leading with integrity and purpose in all that he does. Cameron has shown remarkable resilience, perseverance, and growth as a student. He consistently seeks opportunities to uplift others and contribute positively to the KMS community. It is truly... an honor to nominate Cameron Bell for this award at the Kyrene Middle School. And last but certainly not least, we'd like to welcome Cameron Charles from Kyrene de la Colina. Cameron is a sweet individual who is always willing to help everyone. She has had so much growth, both academically and personally. Every morning she greets us and will always jump in to help. She takes initiative in her learning and adds to the classroom and others' learning with her insight. She is always

willing to stop and help everyone until they understand it fully. She is a true collaborator and one cool coyote. Congratulations, Cameron. Okay, now we'll have everybody kind of come up to take a quick group photo. Board members will head down. Good, good, good. All right. Thank you, everybody. So families, everybody. Okay, everybody, we are really excited to move on to the next portion. You guys are welcome to stay. I understand that it's a school night, but feel free to continue taking pictures out in the hall, celebrating our wonderful students. But again, you are also welcome to stay and have fun with us. Congratulations, everybody. Okay. Item 5.1 is request to speak to the governing board. Okay. As per board policy 1302, the Kyrene Governing Board invites viewpoints of citizens throughout the district. In person, members

of the audience may address the governing board by filling out a blue card provided at the signing table. All blue cards need to be legible and fully completed. Written comments may also be submitted electronically through a link that's sent out in board meeting notifications. Electronic comments will be recorded and filed online as part of the board meeting minutes following the meeting. They must be submitted by noon on the day of the meeting in order to be included. State statute prohibits the governing board from discussing an item that is not on the agenda, but we do listen and can request that staff follow up on any concerns. Kyrene District values transparency and public input to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to address the governing board. We've set a time limit for individual comments based on

the number of speakers. For 1 to 15 speakers, it's 3 minutes. 16 to 30 speakers, we'll have 2 minutes each. And if there are over 31 speakers, individuals will have 1 minute. Superintendent Tenius has informed me we have a total of 2 public comments submitted this evening, so you'll have 3 minutes to speak. The timer is going to be located on either screen. And I'll prompt you when you have 15 seconds left and then when your time is up. And so as you come up, just make sure you state your name for the record and how you're affiliated from Kyrene. And we will start with Sabrina Pratt. My name is Sabrina Pratt and I'm a seventh grader at Pueblo Middle School and a former Mariposa student. I come up here tonight to thank you. To

thank you for everything you have done in this process regarding school closures. It was not an easy decision you had to make, and I do not know anyone who would have wanted to be in your position, making what seemed like to be an impossible choice. But through it all, you led with nothing but the best intention for the district. I know I do not have time to list everything you guys have done, but here are a few things that I really appreciated. First, you let students and also parents of young children go first when speaking. You also gave students like me an opportunity to practice public speaking outside of just school hours. You also gave everyone a chance to be heard. With seven public hearings, public comment at board meetings, and even more time outside

of that. While I am up here tonight, I would like to share some parts of my story that I have not yet. When I got to Mariposa in third grade, after transferring from a charter school, me or my parents really had no way of knowing how it would go. and not in the normal way, like if I would like my teachers or make friends, but how this new school would support me and my hearing loss. It turns out they had a tremendous support that allowed me not to just survive, but thrive. In fact, I thrived so much that at the beginning of fourth grade, I was awarded with Kyrene Super Student. At the time, I did not know to the extent of what that award actually meant, but now I would call it one of

my biggest achievements. Even though this vote did mostly go my way with Mariposa staying open, there are still going to be hard parts involved, like closing schools including Pueblo, Ocky Mall, or any other school. This transition will be hard whether your school is closing or not, but this community that we have brought together through this process must stay intact, and we can continue to do so many great things together. Lastly, I would like to thank you, the board members, the district office staff, the Long Range Planning Committee, Ms. Jachowski, the teachers and the staff at Pueblo for keeping a smile on their face through it all. And last but not least, every single person on the Mariposa Together team for letting me help regardless of my age. Thank you for your time. Thank you. Next,

we'll have Catherine. Next, we'll have Catherine Peters. Good evening, friends. I wasn't at the December 16th meeting. As you guys know, we were celebrating my daughter's birthday. So I wanted to come this evening to give my gratitude and my thank you to each and every one of you. Not for saving my school per se, because it's nothing to celebrate about. Our community is still in mourning. There's still a lot of uncertainty, a lot of queasiness, just it's a weird situation. So, but what I do want to thank you for is all your time, all your effort. Everything that you have put in to this process and any process moving forward to consolidate the schools that are remaining open. I've talked to some of you offline and I understand that it was very emotional for you

too. And I want to highlight that and make sure that everybody is aware that it was very emotional and it took a toll on you guys as well. So I recognize that and I want to say thank you as well. And I just want to also give shout outs to our principal at Millennial, Mr. Lamb. Thank you so much for allowing me to be our voice for our school. My dear friend, Kelsey, for motivating me and pushing me to keep going, even though sometimes I felt like I was alone in this world. So thank you for that. And I just want to keep encouraging parents to stay. active and come to these meetings and keep participating in any school activity that you can. I know we're all busy parents and we have full-time jobs and

multiple kids and But it's important to keep that fight going. We're fighting an uphill battle right now with Congress, as we've discussed many times. And so we need to keep this fight going. So please, I encourage parents to keep coming to meetings, keep being involved in your... Kyrene community and for all Kyrene kids. And I just want to end by saying happy new year, happy 2026. Let's get to work and let's work together. And congratulations, member Walsh, on your new baby. So thank you. All right. Item 6.1 is consent agenda. Are there any changes to the consent agenda this evening? May I have a motion to approve this consent agenda? Motion to approve. All right. Is there a second? There's a second. Okay. We've got a motion by Member Walsh, a second by Member Davis.

All in favor, say aye. Aye. All right. Motion passes 5-0. Item 7.1, Employee Conflict of Interest Form. I'd like to welcome Mr. Brian Lockery, our Finance Director. Madam Chairman, members of the Governing Board, Superintendent Teniez, for the record, my name is Brian Lockery, Director of Finance for Carroll School District. Pursuant to both Arizona Revised Statutes and the Uniform System of Financial Records, school districts are required to develop a conflict of interest policy to help ensure that all purchases are made at arm's length. Arizona Revised Statutes Section 38503 requires that Governing Board members officers, and employees make known any substantial interest they have in any contract, sale, purchase, or service, and refrain from voting upon or otherwise participating in any manner as an officer or employee in such contract, sale, or purchase. Districts should require Governing

Board members, officers, or employees to complete or update conflict of interest statements annually, if applicable. And districts must maintain this conflict of interest file for Governing Board members and employees who have made such conflicts known to the district and make that file available for public inspection. During each audit cycle, auditors do request and are provided a copy of this conflict of interest form for all five Governing Board members. Before you this evening is the annual Kyrene process for governing board members to complete their conflict of interest attestation. This is our annual process. By signing this document, you are declaring that you either do or do not have a conflict of interest or potential, and disclosing any potential conflict of interest you may have would also be done on this form. The file will be maintained

by district staff and provided to auditors upon request annually. Should you find yourself in a situation where a potential conflict arises after completing this form, it is required of the employee or governing board member to complete a new form and submit it to the district. That before you is the one-page form that has a signature at the bottom. At the same time, annually, for all employees, there is a mandatory training for both the conflict of interest as well as the vendor gifts and gratuities form. This is not a signature form. This is just a form that we give to all of our employees and governing board members annually. And it references the statutes related to gifts and gratuities and what is eligible and what is not eligible under statutory requirements. Madam Chairman, members, I can

answer any questions you may have at this time. And at this time, we will ask that you review and sign the conflict of interest form for governing board members. Are there any questions for Mr. Lockery? Thank you. All right. Item 7.2 is a transportation update. We'd like to welcome Michelle Parmley. Good evening, President Nelson, Vice President Satri, Superintendent Tanyas, and Governing Board members. Tonight I have... Just a quick update on some work we've been doing in transportation. So for the past couple weeks and over the break, my team and I have been working on schedules, bus schedules, as to not change any start times or any tier placements. We've successfully done that, and I think we've done a very good job at maintaining that. Also maintaining schools on both sides of the freeway should parents

choose to open enroll their students at a later or an earlier school. A couple of other things that I wanted to talk about tonight was centralized bus stops for elementary and middle school students. If you don't remember, that was where we would have one centralized location in a neighborhood where students would walk to rather than making several stops in a neighborhood. This especially works for middle school as we will be doing rolling middle school stops next year. So this just allows them the time to get to and from school for both of those routes. Opt-in for transportation, we are putting the final touches on that, and I think we should be probably set to do that on Monday. So we've been meeting with our routing software team, and they have showed us and encouraged us

on how to do this for best practices. Rolling middle school, I think I talked about this before, we're going to do that for all middle schools starting the 26-27 school year. Transportation hubs for out-of-district students, north and south, which means the Baseline Corridor as well as Maricopa. I have identified a stop for one, but not the other. I'm still working on that. So that will come very soon. ESS transportation boundaries. We are working with Sandra Lane and Zippy Turner to best identify exceptional student service programs. And we're also going to consolidate routes. We do this every year. I think this will, consolidating routes and the opt-in for transportation will allow us to consolidate earlier than 30 or 60 days after school starts. Does anybody have any questions? Go ahead, Member Davis. Yes. How many bus

drivers do we still need? About 23, I believe. We've had a couple of resignations recently due to medical. Has there ever been any idea, I guess, to reach out to the public buses? with special passes or anything for middle school kids especially? Have we ever worked with the public system or is that something that we just don't do? I know we do it. I've done it in other districts I've been involved in. So I'm just asking. I've looked into that as an option for transportation next year. But me and my team came up with a way to not have to do that and to transport all of them in-house with the proper supervision on buses. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. Yes, Member Walsh. Just wanted to thank you and your team, Ms. Parmley, for all your

work in trying to keep the consistency. Next year and the year following is already going to have enough transition. So by keeping the start times and the tiers the same, it just gives a lot of comfort to parents. And I know that was not an easy task. So thank you to you and your team for making this process as smooth as possible. You're welcome. Yes. I just want to point out this is just the 26-27 schedule right now. The 27-28 schedule will be released at some point next year for the following year once we make those additional changes. So if somebody's looking up there saying, wait a minute, this is just next year's schedule that we were able to maintain all of these start times and tiers. Great. Again, I echo what Board Member Walsh

said around the consistency. I know it has been a lot of waiting, stop and go, stop and go. And so having this ready to go, this first meeting here, being able to communicate that out is, I thank you for that. A question around the rolling middle school start. How is that going to be communicated to parents who aren't familiar with that? I know we only piloted it two locations this past semester. Yeah, so we're starting another location this semester. Okay. I think we're working with the communications department to send out all relevant information to parents of bus riders. I know there's a timeline of communication that's going to start, I believe, before February 3rd or February 3rd. Okay. And does that also include the change to opting into riding the bus? That'll all kind of

be released with beginning of open enrollment. Yes. I'm sorry. Yeah, I was just going to say there's going to be some transportation information related to the transition we're going through shared this week. Things like the rolling middle stop rolling stops for middle school might be communicated individually to those schools at a later date, like you're rolling one in now. And we'll also put it in our annual back to school communication for families who aren't currently. dialed in for that or might be joining us after today's meeting. And then the opt-in, we're going to work on a whole separate campaign for that because that's really something that was in the works, totally unrelated to the transition that's ahead. Okay, great. Thank you. I just know that with transportation, making sure kids get from point A to

point B, the more repetition we can have with anything that's going to change, the better. So thank you very much. Thank you. Member Davis. Thank you. I just... This question is very basic, but it's okay. So sorry. It's okay. What is a rolling bus schedule? So what we call a rolling bus schedule is we have campuses opening a bit earlier. I believe it's 10 minutes to allow the first wave of students to come. And then once they drop the students at the school, they go back and run a route that's closer to the school so they can get there by bell, not bell time, but 30 minutes prior to school. Okay. Thank you. Any other questions? All right. Thank you. Thank you. Item 8.1, board committee or conference reports. Do any board members have any

committee or conference reports? All right. Item 9.1 is items for future consideration. Do any board members want to list any items for future consideration? Okay. Our next regular meeting date is scheduled for January 27th. And item 11.1 is convene into executive session. May I have a motion to convene into executive session? Motion. Seconded? I'll second. All right. We have a motion by Vice President Satri, second by Member Walsh. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion passes 5-0. We're now... Okay, there we go. All right. Item 11.3 may have a motion to conclude executive session. Motion by Member Vice President Satri. Is there a second? Second. Second by Board Member Walsh. All in favor say aye. Aye. Motion passes 3-0. Executive session is concluded at 7.32 p.m. Can I have a motion to adjourn this evening's

meeting? Motion. Motion by, I will second that motion. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Motion passes three to zero. The meeting is adjourned at 7.32 PM. Have a good night.
