001on their county championship originally. But these athletes are so outrageously talented. So did Miss Matilowicz and they're just out. So we're really proud of everything that they've accomplished and they should hold their amazing, amazing life. Secondly, I just wanted to remind the board that we do have a very special football game besides for being the beginning of our playoff season. We also have two memorial events going on at 530. The first is in honor of Joe Herman who tragically passed earlier this year. And he was an amazing Viking athlete with viewers here both for football. And then we also will be recognizing our veterans. So if you know a veteran, have them come. There's a QR code that you can tell us who's going to be there. We'll invite them onto the field. So those

002ceremonies are going to be at 530. Information is all over the place with regards to check Instagram and check our webpages. And you can find out more about that but 530 on our field, the events will begin. At this point, I'd like to draw your attention to the agenda. Tonight we will be awarding tenure to Dan Maracondo. So he's here tonight with his parents. So Dan, just wait everybody. Okay, so as is customary, we're going to say a few very nice things about Dan and then he will receive his green apple for tenure. Like everybody was. Yes, everybody. Yes, everybody. Everybody. It is a very, very highly esteemed item here. So I'm just going to start and then I'm going to invite Ms. Basilpat and Ms. Kolella to come up and speak about it. Okay,

003so Mr. Maracondo joined the C4 team as a teacher within the LIFT program in its first year. Being certified physical education and health, he helped guide the development of fitness, mindfulness and wellbeing portions of the LIFT program, which as everybody knows stands for library innovation, fitness and technology. When hired, the superintendent requested that he obtain his gifted and talented professional extension and he's in the process of doing that. And Mr. Maracondo is exceptional in that he is a true team player and he's helped build this very innovative program with a very strong focus on children and while he's in the classroom, I do want to say, Dan, you do evoke nice student involvement and in addition to that, one of the main goals, as you know, is for students to remain curious and you and

004your teammates do a really nice job of that. So I support his candidacy for tenure and now I'm going to have Joan Basilpat come up and say some really nice things about Dan. It's an absolute pleasure to stand here tonight and celebrate Mr. Maracondo's tenure recognition. I still remember the day we interviewed Dan. I was the assistant principal at Seaford High School and we were conducting the interview over Zoom. The screen popped up and immediately I was surrounded virtually by baseball paraphernalia, specifically the Mets everywhere and as we reminisced today, it was Mike Piazza and I remember that, which I was really proud. But even more noticeable than the baseball gear was Dan's energy. His enthusiasm was so palpable that halfway through the interview, I ran down the hallway to grab the building principal and

005said, you have to meet this guy right now. He's great, we have to hire him and I'm so glad that we did. From the moment he joined Seaford, Dan's love for learning and his deep connection with students have been evident in everything he does. Whether he's leading lessons, supporting his live students, having fun in the gym with our middle school CDP students or collaborating with colleagues, Dan brings positivity, inclusivity, creativity and a true team player attitude to every situation. Dan, your dedication and heart make a difference every single day. Congratulations on this well-deserved milestone. Your tenure is not just a recognition of your hard work but a celebration of the impact you've had on our students and the entire Seaford community. And while I know one of your favorite sayings is go Mets, we're honored

006to have you on the team to forever say, go Vikings. But basically in terms of just reiterating what Ms. Misalka said in terms of the lift collaboration that I've seen Mr. Maricondo engage in in a day-to-day basis with putting content together, interdisciplinary and the interconnectedness of our lift teachers is just exemplary. So thank you so much for everything you do on a day-to-day basis. Congrats. Thank you. Over here. Where are you guys? Okay. Yeah, Jen and Howard, Rich, and Joanne. How are you? Good. Thank you so much. Thank you. How do I? I'm good. Where's Andrew? Hey Andrew. Congratulations. Well done. Congratulations. Well done. Congratulations. Oh, thank you. I'm so glad she still has you out on the newspapers. Glad she does. Thank you right there. Okay and lastly I just wanted to report that

007yesterday we had a very successful attendance conference day. As everybody knows, this year we're putting particular emphasis on well-being and mindfulness and mental health, as well as social and emotional programs. So our teachers and full-time aides actually went through the process of going through some trainings in mindfulness and good self-care and hopefully some of these strategies they will pass along to the children. Well, it was a really fun day. Dr. Jink did an amazing job putting together this program. We did it with Think Wellness New York. They came in with a whole team of people and we've received tremendously positive feedback. So thank you for your support in helping us make that happen. Great. Okay, so it's all you now. We'll move on to some business. I'm gonna do the next group. Oh, Matt's report.

008Mr. Kynes, sorry about that, Matt. I usually eat with you, your report. Yes, please, please. Thank you. So with the first quarter of the school year approaching and end this week, all is going well with Seaford with the students. Last week the school district and the students celebrated Viven Week and the decision to be drug-free. Halloween was also last week where the students had a blast just to not be shown the school spirit, which I love. The peer tutoring program at the high school has been a huge success. Around 50 NHS members are in the process of tutoring other students and additional requests are coming in each and every day. The National Honor Society is also in the process of coordinating service events district-wide, providing NHS members with opportunities to volunteer at the elementary and

009middle schools as well, which is an opportunity that I think is extremely beneficial for the whole school district and the student bodies. With the fall sports season approaching and playoff's kicking off, and as Dr. McQuarr mentioned, a huge congrats to the varsity girls soccer team. They just won the county championship. However, they had a hard loss today, but it was a tough fight and a great season for them. And the football team, no bias, but they have their first round of playoffs. So come out to support them this Friday. And that wraps up my student report for tonight. So thank you and have a great night. Great job Mr. Cunha. For agenda item 4A through full received courses. In business we'll do these together if that's all right. I need a motion for agenda item

0107A, one through four. Move it. Second. Any discussion? All in favor? Aye. Okay, now I need a motion to postpone agenda item 7B1 to the next meeting please. Move it. Second. Any discussion? All in favor? Aye. I need a motion for agenda item 7B, two through five. Move it. Second. Any discussion? All in favor? Aye. I need a motion for agenda item 7C, one through nine. Move it. Second. Any discussion? All in favor? Aye. I need a motion for agenda item 7D, one and two. Move it. Second. Any discussion? All in favor? Aye. I need a motion for agenda item 7E, one and two. Move it. Second. Any discussion? All in favor? Aye. Any miscellaneous discussion items from the board? Okay. Closing comments. Again, congratulations to Mr. Maricondo on your tenure. You are officially a

011full-blooded Viking, and it doesn't hurt that you're also a Mets man. So no Vikings and better luck next year Mets. Thank you to NICER and the Secret Wellness Council for their very generous monetary donations to our school and our students. And again, just congratulations to the Girls Far State Soccer Team and our coaches on being named as the Massacrowne Champs. They are a fierce team. It's going to be fun watching them in the years to come. So, very well done. Anything you knew were different? Anybody would like to add? Please go ahead. Just one more comment on the Girls Soccer Team because as a soccer mom, all the hours of soccer watched through the years, I always told my daughter bad calls are a part of playing sports, and you just have to accept them.

012There were more than a couple bad calls, and it was very one-sided. And the parents noticed it and shared their feedback with the ref from the stands, but the girls didn't even miss a beat. They were so resilient. They didn't let it bother them. You saw it too. They just played their hearts out. They were professional. They worked so hard. And it was just a moment of pride. It was really incredible. I need a motion to adjourn public session and return to the purpose of discussing that topic. For the purpose of discussing the employment history of a particular employee, legal matters, employment relative to particular employees, particular student matters, and a particular student and related disciplinary matter. Move it. Any discussion? All in favor? Aye. Thank you for joining us.
