mic. There's no mic. It's right there. But everybody can hear you. Can I stand over there? Stand wherever you want. Your world we just live in it. Y'all are laughing because you know it's true. That way? If this is your world, we all just live in it. I love you. Yeah. Well thank you, thank you everybody. It's been a pleasure and an honor for you having me here. Just kidding. You know, one thing I did learn when I first graduated from college is that the place where you're at, no matter what you're doing, you always got to have fun and work hard, right? But you cannot have fun and not work hard. You have to work hard for it, right? You've heard of play hard? I mean, work hard, play hard, right? I mean, it's

just both at the same time. And that's what I do. I have a good time. I have a good time making sure that we provide. You know, people ask me, why don't you run for this office? Why don't you run for this other office? One, I'm not a lawyer. I can't run against Kenno. But I really love what I'm doing. I really do. I've been in other positions where those positions that I've been asked for to run, I don't feel like I can help as much as I can help. And I think that's why I love the school district. Especially the school district that I love. And that's Sheridan. You know, it's important for everybody to know and understand that my ideals in life is kids first. And, you know, my three kids, basically, I

put them first along with my wife first. I told Mando I was not going to cry, but, yes, Mando did. We all knew your name. Mando knew your line. Yeah. Oh, my God. Shut up. My ideals in life is basically to take care of the kids and make sure, because that's our future, guys. And that's what I love to do. Aside from my work, you know, I do engineering, I do construction, I do a lot of things. I'm an entrepreneur here in the city of Mission and also here in Sheridan. I love what I do on my regular job, but my part-time job, which sometimes it feels like a full-time job, is this right here. This is what I love. I've always loved it. I might not know everything about what it basically does as

a school, but we hire the right person. And that person hires the right persons to run the school districts. And I'm very happy to know that. I'm happy with a team of eight. I think this election was one that people knew what they wanted and didn't want. And we proposed something to the people that I think that... I think that is going to affect us for the next 30, 40 years. But we're going to come again and propose something better next time. And I promise you, it might take a year, it might take a year and a half, it might take two years. And we're going to propose something so that we don't feel left out. And when we say we, I'm talking about our kids, our future. And I'm in love with this district,

and I continue being in love with this district. I'm not going anywhere, guys. This is what I love to do. So, um... I've been in this so many times that the one that really ticked me off last time was a guy that was running for office that when he finished that he didn't win, he says, eh, it's just a voluntary job. It's just a voluntary job. To run against somebody else with 3,000 votes and see who gets 1,501 votes and just, ah, okay, I lost, so it's just a voluntary job. It's not. I don't consider it a voluntary job. I consider it as a job job. This is the future of our kids. And I love it. I know my wife for the past three times that I've run, she's always telling me, please don't

run again. But, I don't know if you noticed, but she was the one that was really, you know, out there during the election. You know, getting votes out, getting people out. And, you know, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not going to lie to you. And I just want to say that I'm happy with the team that we have. I think we have a great team. We have a great leader, our superintendent. And I just, I'm excited for you guys. I'm excited for you guys and having me and Megan, of course, that got elected around. It took a lot to get elected this year. I want to make sure everybody understands how hard it was to get elected this year. It was really hard. We had

the bond against us to make sure that people knew that we were with a bond. And we had people that wanted to really get in that didn't fit what we were looking for in this district. And we got it done. And I'm excited. I am excited for you guys. And I'm excited for everybody here, too. So, I love you guys. And I didn't cry. . Wait, wait, wait. Just one last thing. I want to make sure everybody knows that my son got accepted to Texas A&M. So, we're excited. This is the products that are coming out of Sheridan. So, thank you. Thank you. Aw. Megan, any words? No? No. Okay. I need to find where I close. I want to say one thing. Yeah. You know, my kids are all products of Sheridan ISD. And

seeing all of you guys here, you mentioned team. That's what it takes to succeed. And I am proud to be from Sheridan ISD. And I am proud to be here with you guys. So, I wish you guys the best of luck and whatever you need from me. I'm more than happy to help you all out. So, good luck to you. Thank you, Judge. And doctor, you have your hands full. So. I know it. I know it. So, we're going to have to do this. We're going to have to do this. We're going to have to do this. I know it. They keep me humble. There you go. So, thank you for allowing me to be here. Thank you, Judge. Thank you. Before we move on to item D, which is our reorganization, I want to

say what a privilege it's been to serve as president for the last two years with this board, for the trust that my colleagues have put in me or placed in me to run the show for a couple of years. It's been a ride for sure, but it's such a privilege to not only serve with these colleagues. Are you doing a selfie video? Yes. Who all are making fun, right? And really to work with the phenomenal leadership team that this district has, to be in the seat that I've been in the last two years and to really see the way things have turned, to see the forward momentum. To work alongside the leadership team. To work alongside Dr. Howard and to learn from her. I don't have an education background. So it's just been such a

privilege. And once again, I thank you guys for trusting me to do this for two years. I'm really happy to hand the torch off. It's been a busy two years, but I am very, very, very grateful. Thank you guys. Thank you. Well, since she spoke, I think we're all going to have to speak because we just want to thank you for the job that you did in these last two years. And I think that's really important. I think that's really important. I think that's really important. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You don't owe this, but I think we're going to nominate you. No, I'm just kidding. Good job. Good job being a lawyer. I will say there are some pretty large shoes to fill. As a newly elected board member- I only had experience under one other president, but I learned so much under you, with the way you lead and the way you dough. You are all wonderful people. Thank you. way you respond to the challenges of our positions here and I'm grateful for that I've learned I've learned a great deal from watching and working with you thank you thank you I mean I'm president I I want to first thank you that you have you know you were part of the team that brought me here

to the district and took a big leap of faith and you've been nothing but supportive but on behalf of the administration and the school and all of our students and all of our families I don't think people really know how much you or all of the trustees give and when I use that word give I don't use it lightly you give up your time you give up your wisdom you give up your grace over this district you serve endlessly where there has been actual physical needs of our students you personally give if you have a question you can ask me and I'll answer it and I'll answer it you find out a student in our district has needs needs resources to be a part of an activity or to go to a competition somehow magically

we get an anonymous donation and people don't realize this you sponsor largely sponsored through your your company and your family's blessing you bless this district and you go above and beyond just having your name on a marquee or your name on a nameplate you're there you've supported me and the late hours of the night and we're going with really difficult situations in the district and you you've helped to keep us focused on one direction one goal instead of going shotgun approach to the entire district and I'm grateful for that our community will always have your influence upon it I believe whether you're a president or not because your presence fills our community in so many ways. We teach our children to serve. You know one of the amazing things I get to witness every year

is through your organization that all of our students on their own come up with fundraisers and ways to participate and support their classmates in the community to fight childhood cancer. You just lead in every possible way. So thank you for serving us and thank you for serving as a president for two years because that's unusual but it has been such a blessing. Thank you. Thanks to you Tan and your children for allowing you because it is a long time away from them and I know that I've been president four times so yeah it is a long a lot of time away from them. They were really you know generous of theirs to let you lead us like that so thank you for that. We've led so selfless and you give so much more than people

see that you know your leadership has been second to none these last two years. I guess there's a way in which as you serve for years you're moved into different positions and now I'm secretary which I know is the most important position. Monique's had a great job in handling the second most important thing. No honestly you've did a great job as president and when I heard that we were going to do the two-year thing it was like a no-brainer for me I think. I'm going to let you pass a little bit of that because I think it's a little bit too much of a burden for you. I mean it's just it's really important when you put absolutely. I don't know if it's the first time, but it doesn't matter because it was the best

time. You did a fantastic job of being a leader, being a selfless leader, and being by example in your hard work, which I know takes a lot, like Dr. No said, pulls you away from a lot of things. Somehow you balanced it all, and you were still graceful about it. So thanks for your demonstration of graceful, strong leadership, a strong business woman, and a great example for many, many young ladies in our district and whoever gets to watch you. Thank you, guys. Get in, get in. If we didn't cry, I'm not going to cry. Okay, thank you guys so much for that. So now we will move on to item number D, which is reorganization of our board officers. I will start from the bottom up, so I will now accept the nomination for item

number four. Which is assistant secretary. Mr. President, just because we hate to have you leave the office, I would like to nominate you for assistant secretary. Okay, I have a nomination for myself. Marisa Venezia. Can I actually go two-four? Thanks, Hector. I really appreciate that. I've got a motion by Mr. Hector Rivera and a second by Dr. Oli Veda. Is there any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. All opposed, same sign. Motion passes 7-0. I am now assistant secretary. We'll move on to item number three, position number three, I'm sorry, secretary. I will now accept a nomination for position of secretary. Madam Secretary, I've nominated Andrew Riddle for secretary. 028for president of Sheridan ISD School. And I'll make a motion that Hector served as your vice president and move right in. Do I have a second? Second. Second. I have a second by Mr. Julio Cerda. Is there any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. All opposed, same sign. Motion passes 7-0. Okay. Well if there's no other business or anything else that needs to be discussed, you're set. Well you're not. Okay. So I'm going to move on to item number two. I'm going to move on to item number three. I'm going to move on to item

number four. I'm going to move on to item number five. I'm going to move on to item number six. It's item number 27. It's item number 27. Motion passes 7-0. Okay. Well if there's no other business or anything else that needs to be discussed you're set. Well you're not president anymore, so. I'll let you adjourn the last meeting. We will move on to adjournment which I'm happy to pass on to Mr. Hector Rivera. Would you like to adjourn your first meeting in 2020? Hey, does she get another one of those? I'm not retiring. I'll take the rocker. Is there any other discussion or comments before we adjourn this meeting? I'll make a motion to adjourn, Mr. President. I'll second that. I got a motion to adjourn by Dr. Oliveira and a second by Andrew Riddle.

The time is 628 and this meeting is now adjourned.
