001Good evening, Oriole Nation. Ready? Yeah. Alright, we are back in open session. Our next item on the agenda is board mission statement agreements. So the board mission is we will develop policy that is representative of our community, set goals and lead our district by collaborating. Our three beliefs are stand up and own it. We are one and courage to grow. Stand up and own it is that individual measure to be the best version of yourself and own the world that you're walking through as best you possibly can. And then we are one is we've got to do that together, though, too, in here. We need each other to lift ourselves up. when times are tough or just in general. And then finally, we said to continue to learn and be curious. And that's where Courage
002to Dream comes from. So in this room, we get to do that every night. And I think the pictures around and all the students here, too, are the reason why we get to do this every day. So we're very fortunate. Excellent. All right. Our next item is our oath of office. So let me know, Fiona. I have that. Are you ready? You stand up and then. Okay, so you're gonna repeat after me. All right, get the whole up a hand or Katie Gellings have been elected or appointed to the office of board member but have not yet entered upon the duties thereof. Swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin and will faithfully discharge faithfully discharge the duties of said office the duties of
003said office to the best of my ability the best of my ability so help me god so help me god nice yep go to rye come on over while we're doing that congratulations katie and thank you for your continued service for the school district of north fond du lac thank you awesome congratulations thank you Next item is our election of officers. So Dr. Minow, I know you kick us off with the first, then the role is to me. Okay, so can I get a nomination for the president of our board? I will nominate John Guckerman as president of our board. Any discussion or any other nominations? Hearing none, can I get a second for nomination for president? Second. You can do all in favor of all in favor. Say aye aye all opposed. Alright, congratulations.
004Thank you. Next one is nomination for vice president. So if I could get a nomination for vice president of the Norfolk School Board. We have a nomination for Steve Hawk. Any other nominations? Okay, then all in favor Steve being vice president say aye. Aye. All not say nay. All right. Congratulations Steve. 32 years on the board. Nice work. Congratulations. Next item is nomination for clerk for the school district of Norfond du Lac. Look for a nomination. I'll nominate Jacob. All right, yeah, excuse me, I'll nominate Rick. I apologize. I looked at his thing. It says the wrong thing on it. Jacob's like, wow. Yeah. Any other nominations? No. All right. All in favor of Rick Naffey being the clerk for the School District and Orphanage Board, say aye. Aye. Anyone opposed, say nay. Congratulations, Rick.
005Next is nominations for treasurer. I'll look for a nomination for the treasurer of the School District of North Fonlakes Board. I'll nominate Jacob. Okay, look for any other nominations for treasurer. All right. All in favor of Jacob being the treasurer of the School District of North Fonlakes Board of Education, say aye. Aye. Anyone against, say nay. All right, congratulations, Jacob. all right excellent well thank you everyone for for going through those that exercise the next item is uh probably the favorite one of the favorite parts of our board meetings getting to share something that um we saw or got to witness this over the last month for the district that we're proud of uh so lots of good stuff going on who's going to lead off anyone all right rick hi it's a good night
006to do in the music department yeah they've had a great last night They were busy until the end of this year, but now they had the chili dinner, state solo ensemble, flyaway band clinic, then two clinics with professors from Whitewater and UWO, and then the band trip. And I just wanted to do a side note on the band trip. I take a class at the Y, and one of the gentlemen in there, he's a grandfather of a band student, and he went on the trip. So he was talking about during the class, I cornered him afterwards and asked him how it went. He hadn't just loved it, he had loved the whole thing. But he said, especially thinking, he was pretty sure it was Mr. Rasmussen. I'm not sure where he went. I'm not going
007to say his name. He's a little older than me, even, so he's old. They were going up an escalator either at an airport or a hotel with a bunch of luggage around them. And he lost his balance and he was going down backwards and he thought for sure he was going to be poorly hurt bad, but somebody caught him and it was, it says it was Mr. Rasmussen. It was me, but I was in the front footer. We held his bag. Not all heroes wear a cape. He was very frightful for a split second there and that saved his life. That was a good thing. Very cool. Thanks Rick. Katie, you want to go next? Yeah, I can go. I attended the literacy night at FLC to be a guest reader and then obviously attended
008with my kids. But there was a lot of work that went into that by the staff there, you know, above and beyond what they normally do, which is pretty awesome. I think it was pretty well attended overall. I also got to be a judge for the cupcake wars in high school, which was really fun. I was with the afternoon group. But then I saw the post on Facebook with the morning group, and I'm thinking next year I need to judge both groups because they were both awesome. Just the creativity and... You know, they have to kind of lead and share with the judges how they came up with the idea and what they did. And I thought that was really awesome. So a great, great thing that Stephanie Fox has going on there. And then
009Mileage Club at FLC, there were eight kids who were just recognized for hitting 100 miles for the school year. they got shirts so i know uh kelly shaver worked really hard to get some donations to get those shirts made for those kids and they've been wearing them so proudly so yeah kudos to those kids for reaching out very cool thank you honestly um well i got a couple quick repeats but i also attended the friendship litter literacy night and it always amazes me Family parent turnout that we have districts with similar demographics where they don't get anywhere close to what we have here either for Conferences parent-teacher conferences or our evening activities. So that's always awesome. I Live stream we want watch the band march at Disney Through the live stream and stream and that
010was great I was asked again to be part of the scholarship committee at Horace Mann. I love that Work that we do with that with 18 applicants this year highest that anybody could remember Just a great group of kids and it's so rewarding to be able to help them With a scholarship to continue their career or their education careers and then lastly I also did the Cup of Cake Award. I just did the later one. But it's fun every year, too, just to see the creativity and how much the kids seem to enjoy it. They're always nervous about presenting in front of all these adults, but they like it. Good. Yeah, I, so. Prom was a couple weeks ago, and I got to be a chaperone at the post-prom, which is held at the Y.
011And although it was a little bit late for this old guy, it was a lot of fun. We had a lot of nice donations and prizes to give away to the students, like beanbag toss tournament and swimming. you know, good activities and it went really well. So. Nice. Awesome. Awesome. All right. Well, this must have been a really busy month because I got a few extras that haven't been talked about. So it's cool. First off, Bentley, Jacob, Ryan, and Spencer, robotics for BAMS. I think they were in St. Louis, I think, is where the robotics worlds were this year. So just what a cool experience for them. And I know like even Oriental Nation provided some funds to support that. So just that community going around them, helping them. you know, get that opportunity for
012their hard work. And then the other part, you know, as a district, we don't always get everything right. But what Coach Ybarra, Quadra, and the rest of that team did with Chi-Octon, I mean, that right there speaks for itself. So just showing that things, you know, we talk a lot about sports activities, events that are going on here, but that's the reason. for those kind of experiences that are outside the diamond, the court, all those things. Can you share what that was? Yeah, they, you know, Shafton had, you know, tragic flooding, what, two weeks ago now, a week and a half ago. And the softball team was to play us. We were supposed to play in Shafton. It got moved here. And, yes, they held the game. I think it was their first game of
013the season because of all the flooding that they had. But after they had a team meal where both teams came together. and had the team meal and included the parents, the fans. And I think, you know, what's cool about that is, and Yavara said it best, you know, it just brings a little normalcy to their life of, okay, we can move on from the flooding, all the worries they had at home, to just celebrate and play some ball and have some food. So it's cool that we opened our doors to another team, and I think that shows character from all those people. I know I'm just naming two. I'm sure it took a whole crew to make that happen. Thank you to all them. Awesome. So lots of great things happening. So appreciate everyone sharing.
014Our next item is our consent agenda. We have a full consent agenda, which all items were found in our board packet. One was the treasurer's report, not only the financials report, but also the board report for financials, business office note and board checks for April. And then the adoption of minutes. We were busy, right? We had our March 17th board meeting, regular scheduled board meeting, April 8th and April 14th special board meetings where we discussed some new hires coming into our district, which was exciting. So just looking for a recommendation or a motion to approve the consent agenda for this month. So moved. Second. Okay, then roll one already, Rick. Anthony, yes. Hock, yes. Gellings, yes. Humpner, yes. Ketterman, yes. Alright, thank you everyone. Next item, student council. Is this the last? Yes. Okay. Alright.
015So good evening board members. I'm excited to share some highlights from student council as well as updates from other clubs and activities happening at Harrison High School. So for student council, student council will be hosting the Kiss ACU Goodbye fundraiser this week. As stated in the previous board meeting, this activity allows students in all high school grades to purchase three Hershey Kisses and write a note to a senior. Additionally, the officers for the 2026-2027 school year are as follows. President Abigail Wigner, Vice President Andrea Cordencio, Secretary Regis Schmidt, Treasurer Abigail Long. And this will be my final board meeting as a current representative as I will be graduating and Abigail Wigner will take over attending board meetings in her role as student councilor. It has been a pleasure being part of these meetings and I'm
016truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful group. For people if there are no updates and... For National Honor Society, they inducted 24 new members at their banquet on April 12th and announced the officers for the 2026-2027 school year. The officers are as follows. President Abigail Long, Vice President Allison Martin, Secretary Jayden Becker, Treasurer Jackson Chapman. Congratulations and appreciation were also extended to Mrs. Hintz and Mrs. Koh for their nine years of leadership with NHS. Mrs. Koh will be retiring and Mrs. Hintz will be assisting Kim Orlebeck in transitioning to the role of NHS advisor next year. And then for SRE, the SRE candidates' presentation and vote for next year's leadership are currently in progress with a decision expected by May 1st. Upcoming events including Multicultural Night are on Wednesday, May 13th
017from 4 to 5.30pm. The group also completed concessions today. Additional service efforts included volunteering at Whispering Springs for Trivia Night sponsored by the Wanderlife Public Library on Tuesday, April 14th from 4 to 8.30pm. The group has also installed the Aero American Heritage Month collecting board and shared related announcements on Oriel TV and social media. And those are all our updates. Well, first before, thank you for a great year. So congratulations on upcoming graduation. We'll all be there to celebrate with you. And then welcome and congratulations on your role. You've got big shoes to fill, but we have no doubt you'll continue the trend. So thank you. Big round of applause for her. This year I'm doing more in-person accounting, and then I'm still deciding if I should transfer to Madison after that. Nice. Best of
018luck. Thank you. Yes. Thank you very much. Thank you. All right. Got some guests in the house today. Yeah. First of all, I just want to welcome everyone from the... the music department, I would say, at Horace Mann. And we're really honored to have you all here. And thank you for coming tonight. Julia, Anthony, if you want to take over for right now and share with us what's going on. Sure. So I guess before I jump into music, the other thing that I'm really proud that I get to be a part of is I am one of the forensics coaches. And the team was supposed to compete at the state tournament. Two weeks ago, a week and a half ago. But due to the weather, it went virtual for Friday. So we are still awaiting
019our scores. But these were the students that qualified. Addison Bauer, Devin Benoit, and Elsie Conger were a play acting group. Abigail Lawn, radio news reporting. Nova Lapnow, poetry. Adler Meyer, solo humorist. Brooke Peterson, impromptu. Keegan Richter, impromptu. And Amelia Badness-Farago. So hopefully we should know by the end of the week. how their scores actually were. So last week we had the exciting opportunity to record ourselves and now we will be getting feedback that way. So this past weekend we performed at State Solo and Ensemble and the following students qualified and performed. Earning a second on her horn solo was Elsie Conger. Earning a first on her piano solo was Abby Wagner. We also earned a first with saxophone choir consisting of Elsie Conger, Anna Davies, Selena Luft, Parker McCarthy, Adler Meyer, Wilhelmina O'Neill, Abby Wagner,
020and Dominic Wagner, and woodwind ensemble with the members of Addison Bauer, Devin Benoit, Samantha Butchley, Elsie Conger, Anna Davies, Danielle Gustafson, Madison Yeager, Allie Krebs, Victoria Cologo. Violet Lang, Abigail Long, Selena Luft, Faith Lewick, Ali Martin, Parker McCarthy, Adler Meyer, Wilhelmina O'Neill, Reece Stile, Abby Wagner, Dominic Wagner, and Kaylin Wilson. So we had a packed house because we're really fortunate that our band and music parents are so supportive. So the room was kind of packed to the gills, which is awesome to support our students. Starting with our first event in the morning, the Soprano Musical Theater piece, Elizabeth Anzovino. Following that, we had a pair of freshman duets singing a Latin Ave Maria. Isabella Guzman, Rachel Williams Barahona, also scoring a first. And then follow that with Nova Lopnow singing both the Soprano Classical and
021her Soprano Musical Theater piece, earning a first, singing their Soprano Classical piece, Faith Lewick. earning first on his bass classical solo, Adler Meier, as well as his musical theater piece. And then for the first time in eight years, really exciting that our show choir, solo ensemble show choir, earned a trip to state and not only earning a trip to state, but scoring a one, featuring singing alto for the performance, Elizabeth Anzovino and Natalie Nolan. Reese Style and Heaven Larson on our sopranos. And then bass and tenor, Adler Meyer and Madison Silcock. And then wanted to bring down incoming senior, current junior, sang both a soprano classical and a soprano music of theater, earning a first on both. And she'll introduce herself and her piece that she'll be performing for the board. Reese Style, congratulations. And
022come on down, Reese. Why don't you be here? Here? Well, you be there, and this be here. They can see you, no? Yes. Sure that works. Yes? Yes, that works. Yeah. Or wait, here, let's do this one. Sure, sure, sure. You're the performer. You got it. Go ahead. Hi, my name is Reese Stile. Obviously you know what school I'm from. I will be singing Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again from the Phantom of the Opera. At this point in the musical, the main lead, Christine Daae, she's singing to her father's grave, trying to find answers and get over her grief. Please enjoy. Debris from State Soul Ensemble. This past fall, we also had current senior Adler Meyer, current junior Reece Stile, and current sophomore Nova Lotno perform at the WSMA Honors Choir. This past year
023and the summer going into last year, they had a camp as well at W. Eau Claire. And we're pleased to inform that this coming summer and the following year... As a senior, Reece Stile, and as a junior, Nova Lapno have been selected again to represent the School of Sugar and Herb Final Act in the Honors Choir. 1,600 auditions throughout the state for 425 positions across four ensembles, and those two individuals continue to be selected through auditions, so we're very thankful and very fortunate. A lot of happenings before we get into an announcement for the 26-27 school year, but just wanted to recap before the end of the 25-26 school year. We did share this on our social media page a few weeks ago, but it's always just fun to just, you know. share our busy
024but hectic but rewarding end of the school year. So in chronological order, this coming weekend, May 1st and May 2nd, our 38th annual choral cabaret featuring the high school concert choir, show choir, the senior class of 2026 in choir, a lot of fun solos and ensembles as well, senior solos. Both nights are just great and we'll be sharing that out, information. It's free admission. We're happy to offer that. Makes for a great date. There will be free will offering available for that. Then right away the following week, May 6th, our 58th annual Strezik-Hassman Concert and Art Show featuring both in the Commons, Mr. Perry, students with the art. and Mrs. Tezakis and Mrs. Forbes. And then in the auditorium featuring the jazz band, the show choir, the aureole band, the concert choir, the symphonic band.
025So a good night of art and music in that. That following Friday, then. Friday, May 8th, FLC Spring Program, kindergarten, first grade, 8.45 a.m. and 2.15 p.m. Not that full time. That would be an insane day. But exact same program, two different times, unless we make mistakes in one and not the other. We just have the accidents. Come see them. They'll be in the gym. FLC gym. And then the following Tuesday at Back of the Horseman High School, PAC, Tuesday evening, Arts for Kids 4K graduation. They'll also be performing some music that evening, Tuesday, May 12th. That Thursday then May 14th Bessie Allen middle school spring And band at six o'clock choir at seven o'clock again six o'clock seven o'clock for that performance Sorry, I just had a reminder from the record Graduation Wednesday May
02620th. I've seen the high school gymnasium at 6 30 p.m. immediately following that the last two things. The following day the 7th and 8th grade band will be going to the Kalahari Beyond the Notes band festival. And then that following Monday, Memorial Day, the high school band will be marching in the Fond du Lac Memorial Day parade. And then that takes us to the end of school year. So a lot of things happening, but again, we're so proud and so thankful for the support and for the students to really take that ownership and just enjoy sharing the love of music and performing. We're so grateful to be their directors and to be here. So if I could have my co-directors come on over and help me out with information with next year's fall musical, which
027will be taking place Friday, November 6th, Saturday, November 7th, and Sunday, November 8th, 7 o'clock, 2 p.m., the 13th annual fall musical. We're going to be going Disney for the first time in many years everyone. Can we get a drum roll please? It will be... the school just you know I like any high school student is welcome to audition in the cast also spots for reaching out for helping out the stage crew building the set painting the set helping running crew and their information for pit and we'll be having the summer information packet handing out to all students whether they're interested or maybe thinking would be happy to provide that information of rehearsal schedule in the process and we can't be more excited to bring to have us all under the seat. Thank you. Extremely
028thankful and grateful that we have educators who support music and art and the fine arts in general. And that's such an important part for any person's life. And I would have to say one of the things that I was blessed with was some great musicians and teachers. And I will never forget that experience. So you all have that opportunity here within the school district of North Bonilac and making it something that you want to keep doing and you want to keep playing that music and being around music. Really appreciate all your efforts and thank you everybody who were able to attend including families and friends to share in the showcase. So wishing you all a wonderful evening. Thank you so much for being here. Everyone's welcome to stay too. I don't think we've ever had
029anybody speak yet. I know. That's my goal. They actually stayed. They're going to stream it. All right, well, that was awesome. We'll go into our next item, which is our folks report. So, Rick, when you're ready. We had donations from back tech, from Wayne and Jenna Schingen for $50, and all tools entered into the inspection for $1,500. So consistent, generous donations that we appreciate. Awesome. Yes, thank you to all listed. Next item is citizens comment. opportunity for anyone that would like to provide uh comments to the board pause we have all frequent flyers in here so all right we'll move on next item is superintendent's report so dr mino it's all you thank you john appreciate it The superintendent's report is already broken down by our four core areas for our strategic plan. Academics and
030learning, or learning and academics is number one. And we have the pleasure of having a few of our counselors here this evening to present on ACP. Ms. Broughton, Ms. Stahl, Ms. Gable. And they're going to talk a little bit about ACP in general, what economic career planning is all about. And I'm going to turn it over to y'all. Okay? It's tough to follow the singing. That's why we've got the piano up here for you. I didn't do my vocal warm-up, though. Okay, you guys, thanks for everybody else. So, just to introduce ourselves, I'm Kim Broughton, middle school counselor. I'm Jenny Stahl, one of the high school counselors. And I'm Jill Gable, the other high school counselor. There's a school counselor who's not here. It's Erica Harbath, and she's our FLC counselor. And then we've been
031working with Dr. Minow. Okay, so the why behind ACP and E4E. So the state has mandated that all districts in the state of Wisconsin have their ACP E4E plans approved by the board and available on their websites for folks to be able to view. And we learned during a recent CESA 6 meeting that their last audit there were only 16 of over 400 plus schools in the state of Wisconsin that are compliant with this mandate. So we are hoping to be the next. What is ACP and E4E? So academic career planning. It's student-driven, adult-supported. It's an ongoing process of self-exploration, skill building, aimed at creating a personal post-secondary plan. ACP focuses on who I am and where I want to go. Some examples of academic and career planning activities would be having students develop career
032portfolios, taking career aptitude assessments, learning styles assessments, interest inventories, those types of things, and setting personalized SMART goals. Education for employment is a K-12 state mandated requirement focused on preparing students for the workforce, promoting business cooperation, and ensuring that our students are tech literate. E4E focuses on the how, so the structure, the partnerships, and the practical experience. So we're talking things like participating in youth apprenticeship, job shadowing, mock interviews, among many other things. So the purpose of academic and career planning education for employment is to assist students with planning and preparing for whatever it is that they want to do post high school, whether that be go into further education or go right into the workforce. So I think you just mentioned that it is already meant to be student driven, but we want to
033keep on providing them opportunities. I think all of us have had you look in your own families. Each child that you have is very different from the other. There are milestones that they reach and things like that. So we soon as may not be ready to look at a specific. task yet. However, we want to keep on offering them the opportunities so that when they are ready or we provide them an opportunity that that light bulb goes off. Previously, they kind of, they used the phrase explore, then plan, then go. So like once you had enough information, you set your goals and then you can hit the floor running. And so that's what I refer back to a little bit when they go to the mission is we're really giving them opportunities to learn about
034themselves. And then we want them to be able to see themselves doing it. So once they've been exposed to it, seeing how it fits their personality, then they can start making the connections to the classroom and things like that happen. And they're setting their goals and making it happen by the time that they leave high school. And you can see that so many of our students are doing this because we've had in 24-25, 229 students earn. industry credentials. And that's in our metals classes, or welding, in our construction classes, in our child development, and in our business classes. And so those are all things that our community thrives off of, and there's employment opportunities awaiting for them. And then In addition, we've had 120 students participate in work-based learning programs. And so when we think
035of that, you know, initially you think of youth apprenticeship, which our numbers have like soared lately, but then it's also the opportunities in the classroom that they are earning. They're earning paychecks in a lot of them. The incubator class, they're starting up that business. Those students are walking away with real money in their hands. You know, the Food for Thought Cafe is generating money for their program. Oriole Outfitters is running it as a business so that they see how the time and energy that they put into their work, how it pays to them in other ways. Our other data is telling us that currently we offer two AP classes at the high school, so AP Government and AP Psych. And this past school year, we had 36 students sign up for those two classes. And
036of the students who signed up to take the AP exam, 85% of our students scored a 3, 4, or 5 on that exam. That's huge because if you score a 3, 4, or 5, you can then transfer that to a college and they will take that as college credit. And so that's saving them time and money moving forward. We also have had, we have teachers at our high school who are certified to teach technical college curriculum. So from Rain Park or Fox Valley Tech. And we have 19 classes. And of those 19, we've had 202 students sign up to earn the dual credit. And so if they earn a C or higher. they get that college credit free of charge to them. And so that's a really great opportunity for students. This would also include
037like our CAP students, our early college credit students, our college now students. Our focus moving forward is that we want to get our colleagues out into the community to visit different industries that North Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac has to offer so that they can then speak to the kids about the opportunities. And so we are working with Dr. Meadow, with our building principals, with Greater Envision Fond du Lac to set up these industry tours to get our adults out there to hear. so they can report back to the kids. We also want to, at the high school especially, is we want to make sure that we are providing students access to get out to some of these jobs or some of these companies to explore the jobs. Right now it's a little tough,
038but that's an area that we want to focus on for next year. And then what we are asking for you today is we are asking for you to review all of our plan, take this information into consideration, and look to approve, board approve our ACP E4E plan moving forward. And we have it linked right there, so we can get that to all of you. Perfect. Any questions that you guys have? Questions from the board? Guess I have one of them 10 12 years ago. I think you all were here and there was a focus switching more from counseling kids to career readiness and things that I remember going up to see saw a night of culminating day For a big presentation and talking about is that what this is that come out of the same?
039So ACP has been around for that length of time. They are just revamping it and making sure that we continue to grow with our labor and Bureau and statistics so that we are meeting the needs of our community as well as The workforce out there so this isn't a brand new. It's not no it's not brand new. It's just being repackaged Well, yeah to that point so 16 out of 400 districts were audited and determined to be like within compliance A lot of what you presented is already indicative of the work that's been done and kind of well underway. So how is it different such that we can be 17? So a big push is that we need to get in on our district website. And so we have worked with Dr. Vino to look
040at. Do you want to share? Yeah. So one of the great things about CISO, what they're doing right now is working with school districts and they're. shifting and helping it be all placed on one site for you. So you just fill in what you want and then they dump all the information in for ACP on there that basically makes us compliant with ACP at the given time. So from career clusters to aligning our courses to those career clusters to all that information, but they do a lot of that legwork for us because we know it's a lot of work to do and that anybody, families, students, Educators can access that at any time. It's going to be a really nice opportunity for our whole district to be able to participate in. Still yet to come
041I mean we can give a like a run through that once we get a better understanding of what that looks like in terms from CSA but they're doing the work right now on that does that sit on our website then it's it's our website yes, and we don't want it to just like check a box like that's a website like we want to be living this active with students yeah that was kind of my quiet I mean the clients part I know we'll get to like I have no worry there like what's next for this space like I mean, I know continue what we're doing, do it better. Is there anything up and coming that falls that's maybe new or innovative in the space? Not necessarily innovative, but one of the things that they really...
042strongly, they're not encouraging, they're telling us to do, is that we need to help students and families understand the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, like that data, and how those jobs are going to look in the future. So taking the time to plan that out a little bit or have an understanding before you go into it. And we really push the kids. Like there's not one pathway that's better than the other. If the job that you want tells you that you have to have a master's degree, well, then you know you have to go and get a master's and even apply for that job. But there's so many different ways to get into the workforce and then either have companies invest in you and pay for that education if our kids can't afford it right
043away. But we need people to work all jobs. And so we don't want to shame or make. Kids think, I don't want to pursue this or say it out loud because people are going to make fun of me. Whatever you think your passion is or an interest area, let's explore it because either we're going to shut the door to that and pivot and find something else. Or you might say, like, I really love this. I think I want to do this. Yeah, I think it's interesting because, you know, from a parent perspective, from a professional perspective, like. I think we make it really easy for someone to go to college in the sense of understanding what it is. They have to do the work, but you think of a lot of the trades that are
044out there, and the biggest thing with the organization I work for that we hear is, I didn't even know the next step after high school. I knew I wanted to be a welder, but I didn't know I have to go maybe speak with a union. You know what I mean? That's where I hope that... you know, to open those different avenues for kids that want to work with their aunts. I think one of the things that Jenny was talking about here is that we hope that every single child before they get done with their K-12 experience, that they have experiences, that they can look at opportunities because they might go into, I want to be a police officer. I don't slide across the hood of a car and that's nothing like what it is, you
045know? And so, but that's good. We'd rather have them figure that out in 10. And yet at the same time, they might see another place and say, yeah, this is absolutely me. I can see myself in it. But we have to create those experiences with businesses. I mean, it's a two-way street. You can't just hope that the businesses are going to come to us and we can't just, they can't just hope that we're going to go to them either. So we got to figure out ways to like bring the community or the businesses in so that we have those conversations. And then we set up. experiences for our kids so they can get out there and just see touch and feel that and it's not in your company organization yeah it's not just one area
046so you got HR you get the marketing you got all those other components that but we need to get that available for our students before they leave and our hope is that when they go through it oh I had no idea this yeah I'm here I had no idea this was even part of this and then that business or businesses can then start helping them understand more or get more involved. And that can be anywhere from a visit to an internship to a shadowing to them coming in and talking to kids about what their experience is. The other side of it is getting our educators also to understand what's the world around us. We know education pretty well, right? But beyond that, for some of us, we don't know what's happening in the organizations that
047are going on. And I think just by getting them out there, it's like a gift of value saying like, hey, These are things that are going on. We don't expect you to become masters or experts or counselors about any of this, but just have some awareness of it. And if they have awareness, when a student starts talking about something that they just saw, like, oh, I was at the same place. This is really cool. You know, again, that connection, that relationship building, that encouragement. Because right now it's easy for us as educators to say, hey, you've got to go to a four-year college. You've got to do this, and that's what your track is because that's what we know, right? But we need to get beyond that and learn more. Well, I think the YA,
048I mean, I can speak from a parent perspective on this. For my daughter that's in YA right now, Miss D and the Trefford team where she had an opportunity to work with all year, like solidified what she wanted to do. You know what I mean? So like there's a big impact, I think. And I know that number is growing at the time, which is awesome. It's just like, how do we keep building on that? Like, because those lifetime experiences and those like networking pieces they're doing is probably the... the true true gold in all of it so and i would say if kids have a mode of transportation to get to and from youth apprenticeship that's such a great opportunity our barrier i would say with many of our high schoolers is they don't have
049a means to get there yeah and so that's where that's going to be a focus of ours is to get them those opportunities and that's partnering with the community that's partnering with businesses i mean if we have that connection with folks they'll be like yeah i'll pay for a bus for you all to get over here so you can get an idea of what we're all about because you might be our potential employees at some point in time. It's exciting. Again, I think COVID had a lot to do with the reason why people were off of this because it was heavy up until COVID, at least from my perspective. Then that happened and there was less interaction and you need a chance for that to happen. I think this is a rebuild and I'm glad
050that we're starting to look at that again. Yet, if you notice, 200 plus kids are in, you know, all this stuff. We've got a really thing going here, but it's only going to get better based upon what we've got going. And part of, I think, getting this on the website, too, is just, like, we know this information, and it's so great. Like, those are some strong numbers, but for our community members to be able to see that, too. That might even spark interest from, like, a business in the area of that. comes on and says I wanted help or support. And when we have businesses come in and talk to our kids, we always have them promote like entry-level positions, some that need a little bit of schooling, and then, you know, other positions that
051need, if it's a bachelor's degree or something beyond that, so kids can kind of see I can start at different points. That's cool. Any other questions for the team here? Thank you for everything you do and I know you put a lot of time in all this. We really appreciate you and what you do for our kids and I'm so looking forward to how we move forward together. Great job after the concert too. You did well. And now, the trio! I know, we put on a lot of dance for you guys. And I do like the fun songs. There you go. Okay. Have a good night. Yeah, have a good night. Thank you. Hello everyone. I'm back. Now I have a seat. I think I took a month off. Want to get your name plates?
052There you go. I'm just going to try to make this a little bigger for you. Awesome. So my purpose behind being here today is just to do our state mandated ELA curriculum audit that we are required to do for F20, but also to give you a little teaser of what next year's plan is and some of the great pieces in curriculum we have going on. I have the wonderful Jen Powell with me as well. With every decision, we always are. the Futurist Research Act and supported and best for our students, then that wouldn't happen without her. So I cannot not be here without her. As I'm talking about the curriculum, I just want us to be clear that the only reason why curriculum works is because of teachers, because they bring their joy of reading,
053they bring their expertise, they bring their understanding of their students. So it is never just the curriculum, although it is a very powerful tool to help our district move forward in that as well. So as we are going to be talking specifically about curriculum, you might hear me mention other pieces because it all goes kind of hand in hand. Awesome, thank you. Yeah, so we have two things that we're going to do today. We're just going to complete that reading curriculum review. And then we're also going to just talk about the K-12 curriculum plan for 2026-27. Thank you. So the first one, some of the pieces in here are from a workbook that we use to do this curriculum plan. And this is just a great indicator of where we are as a district. If
054you zoom out a second, you'll see that for the 2025-26 school year, we kind of have different stages of where our district was at for curriculum. Horseman's off to the side because they have been using their own curriculum this year. for their scope and sequences but down below you'll see we've got trefford and um flc in their state in their second year of implementation and i don't know how to get this off i'm so sorry that's okay it just says trefford and i have had the pleasure of joining vams with the start of their amplified curriculum so this is our pilot year with amplify um And those are the pieces that we've been stepping through. So we've been leaning heavily on CISA's recommendations for how to do adoption, how to adopt curriculum the right way,
055how to make sure teachers feel that they have all the tools they need for that, as we've been going through that piece as well, while continuing to support FLC and Trefford with their years of implementation. It's Amplify CKLA is theirs. Awesome. So this is a wonderful... Slide of all the goals that we I and Jen and our district believe that we've met this year in relation to our curriculums specifically as you can see a lot of it comes down to interventions too I know I've been speaking to you all the time on how our intervention system has been put in place as well Which is a piece of our curriculum. We are always using resources to guide what instruction our students need and we have been able to complete all of this which is huge
056and uh was definitely a big undertaking you know i coming in i had all of these big buckets i was here for two weeks and i have a spreadsheet and jen and i just went back to that spreadsheet and it's like wow all of our wishes even have been able to be accomplished this year or started you know um we're we it's crazy the amount of work we have put into supporting our students and and our teachers but this is just a snapshot of what each building has done i'll give you a second to look at it feel free to ask me questions if you have any questions about any specific areas i will also honor tara at this moment to obviously engine to make this happen i mean um she's been explosive for our
057district in a great way and she's we're so happy she's part of this because a lot of her direction a lot of her leadership is making this happen and she is resilient and she gets things done so we're really happy that you're here what's cool about this too that's off this page is like i think about this year in There's a ton on here, but none of this is a surprise to see in the sense that you really brought us along I think throughout the year and kind of showcasing how these things are happening and like where I'm not like oh, what does that mean? Right, you know what I mean? I'm not gonna lie, other years I was like what's that happening? You know, what is that? So thank you for doing that too
058because that's helpful for us to understand like all the great work that you're doing. So both of you. Thank you. And this is even before our end of year data. We cannot wait for June to be bringing to you guys what our end of year data looks like. It's not a surprise to us because we've been able to track growth for these students all throughout the year. So it's going to be amazing. We're going to have to. have a cake or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but I just wanted to show you too that we are always using data to drive our curriculum instructions. So we this is just a snapshot of the data assessment schedule that FLC and Treffert uses. We use our I-Ready diagnostic data, AIMSweb. We have embedded, formative, and summative within
059our CKLA curriculum as well. And then we have additionally used that iReadyCardless monitoring using NextPath as our tool to be able to really guide what students' growth has been looking like. Again, it's hard to delineate what pieces are specifically for the curriculum, but there are some really solid Tier 1 and Tier 2 instructional practices that are put in play to help support where our students' data is trending. Another piece that I have been able to bring to our district is our learning walks. So I don't know if we've had a lot of conversation about learning walks yet. I don't think so, right? Maybe a little bit, but... I try to inform them as best as I can. Okay. So they'll have a little idea what you're talking about. Yeah, so a learning walk is really
060just where a bunch of people go in and... walk around while teachers are teaching and have a specific goal or note that they're looking for. It can be across grade levels. It can be across maybe a whole school. It can be a specific grade level. It can be one teacher. I mean, we started with one teacher because we just had to kind of get our feet wet with what a learning walk is for. And we went in with the intention. We had a learning walk tool that we developed, and then we completed five of them this year. So we have been really trying to use them to give data on what we need. better support for for our students and our teachers. And so this is, like I said, we use a lot of resources
061from CISA on how to be the best we can be. And this is just the impact of what we knew going into this, why we needed to kind of move on learning walks, why we weren't going to wait until next year on that. And we really, like I said, we just started with two teachers that I was in a coaching cycle and said, hey, can I bring five people in with me? You know, like we just want to learn from you, you know. And all teachers have been super willing. We have one more that we are. like I have on there one more where we're actually having one grade level go down to the next grade level. And those teachers are going to be part of that learning walk and visually looking for those pieces
062of high level instruction. So not evaluative. And then the goal of this is what? I mean, what's the end game? It really is just making sure we're cohesive with our instructions. So it's not. specific to curriculum, but it's just making sure that we're using our curriculum to integrity, that we are keeping up with those engagement strategies, supporting students within our curriculum and engagement strategies, depending on the focus. So this year we focused on literacy and we used our CKLA look fors. They have look fors that come with the curriculum. We use those in addition to CISA high leverage strategies, look fors and combine them into our own. North Fond du Lac look for based off of those two resources and led with that. Next year, we're going to be getting into more engagement strategies across
063all content, not just specific to literacy. Matt, is that when you were talking about the questions, I noticed I wonder what if? Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. That's how you should come into it. It's like I'm just noticing I'm trying to help myself too because you learn so much by just watching other people in that practice. I'm so thankful I've had like 20 plus years in administration and watching all these great educators teach. It's amazing what you can see. learn from. So, sorry, the five walks have been completed. Can you kind of quantify the impact in terms of teachers involved and or? rooms and yeah visits and yeah yeah and this year with that being our first year it is recommended that we don't provide specific feedback because it's not fair to give someone feedback when we're
064learning what a learning walk is you know so uh for the teachers they were just basically willing to open their doors and then we based off of those five learning walks um are able to we have a really solid professional development plan for next year um that's around engagement strategies and supporting students uh which there'll be more to come probably in June when we are talking about next year but we've already had many meetings as a leadership team on how to support all students based on what we saw with those learning blocks and things to keep doing okay you know and you I mean even though there's not a value to as a coach you can go back and have conversations and just like support and like build up I mean right after that as
065well so we're trying to sorry jen it's all yours We were doing these learning blocks and I was learning them too in my brain and it's always student-centered. So it isn't, like when you said it's not evaluative, but it's not even me looking at that teacher and what do we need to do. Of course, you're amazing, right? It's how can we increase student achievement? How can we make this particular number, this group of data, this grade book, whatever, this test increase student achievement? And I think it all goes back to that. It's not really watching a teacher per se, it's watching those kids. Good. How are you? Wonderful. Great feeling. Yeah. I made it. So like we said, our whole outcome and our whole reason for why we are looking at our curriculum and our
066support so critically is because we really, really have a passion and a drive to increase that literacy achievement. So we've been focusing and hammering Clonix K2. and fluency and comprehension 312. Notice that that 312 is huge because we are supporting our third graders all the way to our 12th graders when it comes to fluency and comprehension. So that is the crowd. Our tier one scope and sequence as well, but then also filling those goals with interventions as well. And then always just to go back to how do we support teachers? And these are the pieces that really, like I said, when we started this as a curriculum doesn't make literacy achievement. It's the teachers that are behind it. So our job is to support their teachers with what they need when they have those select
067students in front of them. Wow. Man. So in addition to that we are always going back to the effectiveness of it. So we are using our iReady data as you guys have seen in many school board presentations, but then I just put a little Snip it on the side there because next path is another tool that we are really able to just determine if it's affecting and supporting our students So we have a couple kinks to figure out with next path because sometimes the data doesn't hit right or there's a weird something entered funny and it doesn't necessarily look it blocks it so this is just as a last week kind of where we are at by school based on intervention solely of supporting the students and filling the gaps of if the intervention is
068having them on track or meeting again not an indicator of if our curriculum is hitting home directly, but we should be seeing growth in all students across the across the school if if we're using our curriculum to integrity. So we just we just use multiple data points to be looking at the effectiveness of our curriculum. Okay, now it's next year. So based off of what we've been able to complete this year, we have already started working on so many pieces that are on this slide as well. With the elementary school, we've had two meetings with each grade level on their vertical alignment and have a really solid plan for pulling out priority standards that are aligned to what our students need to know by the end of each grade level and the assessments that go
069with that as well. Obviously, as you guys know, I've been in coaching cycles all year around all grade levels as well. That will continue for next year. So we'll have some effective coaching cycles supporting our students. We've got our middle school that's going to be in that second year, technically first year of implementation, full implementation. And then our high school is going to be adopting a new ELA curriculum as well. We had our overview on Friday and those teachers left there saying, wow, look at all of the pieces that this new curriculum can provide for our students. And that will be the next slide. We're kind of going to our plan for our curriculum flow. But this is, again, like the last slide, this is our roadmap. Is there any questions first on that? Is
070there any questions on the plan for the 26-27? It's not deviating much. I mean, it's like just building upon what we've had. So without adding new, it's the next step. Any other questions? This is just the reason of why we're talking about that today, which is just the Act 20 compliance piece. And then I just have a really quick one slide on our plan for next year. So we will continue with the CKLA and FLC. Our Trevor Way is going to be adding in some more research literacy strategies within their Amplify and doing more work in that project-based learning that they can do throughout the day as well. So we're really, really targeting their school. Bringing all those pieces to one will be doing amplified ELA at BAMS and then there's that my perspectives at
071Horace Mann. So that would be English 9, English 10, American Lit and World Lit. That's our plan for next year. Any questions? Great. I think it's great what you guys are doing. I love the focus on the data and I especially love the K-12 focus rather than what used to be all chopped up and individual. Always drove me crazy. Yeah, I really really enjoy being K-12. I feel like I've been able to bring value to every every school and also show them what's coming too because you know it's as a middle or high school teacher For them to feel like their students are not succeeding to know we are we're closing gaps and we're not forgetting them. But knowing coming up that we are ensuring all students by the time they get to them are
072going to be succeeding, you know, and we take that job very seriously. So, yeah. Anything else? Just looking forward to cake in June. Thank you so much. So we actually kicked off our testing today for K2 K3 K3 started in sub testing today and then we our whole district will be doing I ready May 4th. So if you've got any children at home in the next couple of weeks, give them a little extra kudos. Make sure bedtime routines are great and yeah, we get to go. Awesome. Cool. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. All right, Monica. You can stay from right there, yes. So based on current projections, budget versus actual projections, we are planning on moving ahead with some facility upgrades that we have budgeted in our long-range plan that we think that we will
073be able to put into the 2025-2026 budget. The total amount that we currently have on tap that we've already made a move on amounts to $156,000. we are holding off on two other parts of that long-range plan to as we get a little closer to may or june to see where we're going to be budget versus actual and those amount to 125 000 currently budgeted and if we can get them done this year we certainly will nice thank you no i just think it's really thank you for putting this together it's really helpful to for our district even though we've got a lot of great buildings new buildings new things but things get old right and so just being really planful with it i think it's helpful from a board perspective on we're staying on
074top and no big surprises so thank you for that awesome dr amino will be right back it's back to you already yeah that was quick Got all covered, Mike? All done. Okay, we're good? Yeah. All right. Shifting to our engagement and communications, there will be a family survey. We haven't had one for a little bit of time, and especially because we shifted from our last survey system, which is Panorama. Some of you might remember that. And now we are in the next path, and the next path has got these surveys called Glimpses. So we will send that out May 11th, the week of May 11th. It'll be for everybody in the district. And there's several questions as advantage of that, what the families are saying and doing and what we want to do and hope
075to gain from it. We will send out a letter or something of this nature. The data doesn't just sit. We take that back, make considerations in terms of like, okay, what is our lowest end? What is our highest end? And what are some actions such we can take in some of those areas that maybe families are noticing that we're not and how might we help? the experience and everything else be a little bit better for everybody who's part of it. So look forward to seeing that data. We'll bring some of that back too so you can see that. We've been very successful in the past with that. So looking forward to seeing what transpires from that survey. That same week too, just so you know, we do a student survey at the beginning of the
076year and at the end. K-12, I would say 3-12, let's put it that way. But it's a lot on the social-emotional and where things are at, do you feel safe at school, all those kind of questions. And we tabulate that too, so we'll have another data point in terms of that social-emotional, which hits our strategic plan in two different spaces. The KPI about student well-being, which is do you feel safe? And the other one, do you feel like a sense of belonging for students, meaning do you have one or more adults in the building? that is your trusted person. And so we want to make sure that we have at least one of those for every single individual that walks in so that they have someone to go to if they need to for whatever
077reason. For example, though, we have, whatever, 10% who say we don't feel that way. What we do with the counselors that you saw here before, they bring them down and say, hey. You okay? Where are you at? Did you feel this outright? Or yeah, maybe we need a little more digging here to help them out and feel that sense of like, I've got someone to at least go to, be it a counselor or administrator or another teacher in the building. So yeah, more to come on that and get some data too. And then the final one we will have next year that we haven't done for a little bit is we're going to do the teacher engagement survey. And it's going to be based on Gallup a little bit so that we can start identifying
078where people are at. And I'll break that down for you a little bit later this year just to show you like how it's different than what we've done in the past. And I think we're all looking forward to it. And when I say all, like principals, administrators, directors, looking for those responses from our staff and where they're at and how we can come better. We're modeling and mimicking other school districts in this area that have done this, found really good success from it. We talk about retention, the importance of that, how do we continue to. build on that. That's a huge part of that process and what we will see within those, the surveys themselves. And that'll be both fall and then spring every single year moving forward. To put a blow on all this,
079before we go to the next thing, I'm also working with NextPath, which is the warehouse that people have been talking about where we pull our data and you can just kind of see visually where things are at. I'm working with them right now on putting a layout for all of our strategic plan. So when you open it up and you can see it, you can see here's all the KPIs for. learning and academics. Here's all the KPIs for financial operations. Here's all the ones for family communications. And then you'll be able to see where it's at currently within a given time. And so we'll be dumping data in from iReady, from Forward, from you name it for the academics and learnings. We'll be dumping data in from those surveys, from families to students to teachers
080right into those zones as well. So it's going to be kind of a running, easy to see. happening of where we're at consistently with strategic plan. This is how I've been doing it the last few years where I have to manually go through and say, okay, yeah, we went up this way and then I'm just putting... That's just stick up on the wall versus we're trying to find an efficient way to do this and we're one of the first districts to actually launch this I'm working with the designers of next path to make that happen. So more to come hopefully by June I said hey we have this read by June so we can show our board at the end of the year. That's where projection is going to be on that. Any questions about
081surveys which is a plan. what we're going back to because we did that before you came and then we switched, I think. And is it that same kind of... It's a similar one. It's a little bit different. And we're kind of branding it ourself a little bit and for multiple different reasons. But yeah, we're going to get similar data back. And I'll explain to you kind of how it all frames out, like in terms of it's based on the triangle and the basis. It's almost like Maslow's hierarchy. If your people don't even have like... the supplies and base things in their workplace, then good luck going to that next level of that. So that's what we're really going to tee off on and go in that area. So yeah, it's a little bit of the
082resurrection of the Gallup before. Good question. And then my final thing for this evening is engagement and communication is Let's Fly Forward, NFDL Summit coming up this Wednesday. Currently, we have over 75 people signed up, which is extraordinary for our first go. Less than a week ago last Thursday, I think we were at 25. So we've added a lot of players, and we have players from all over. We have parents, obviously. We have students. We have educators. We have business owners. We have farmers. We have clergy. We have... alumni, we have local officials, so a nice group of people coming together to talk about our world here and where we're going. Just a little recap, so Wednesday night, dinner starts at 5 o'clock, and you can come in at 4.45, we can probably be ready
083by that time too. All of the seating is, you know, everyone has assigned seats. So you might not be sitting next to your spouse or your other individual. And the purpose behind that is we want multiple perspectives at each table so that you have a really good conversation and can dive into a lot of this work. So that's how we'll start off. We're going to have some student. We have a student playing piano for a little bit just to, you know. showcase again our fine arts here. I'll kick it off and then Mike Slominski, Superintendent of Kaukauna is facilitating the work for us that evening. And there are two activities. They will take a bit of time. One's the timeline, the historical timeline. So we're going to look at each table will get a decade.
084And then they're responsible for putting in many post-its on what was happening globally, what was happening locally, and then what was happening in the educational system in North Monolak. And so once we get all that done, we put it up on the wall. People can go up and check out some of the things that are going on. And we kind of walk through that and just celebrate our past, celebrate where we have been and where we're going. The second activity is based on emergencies and things that are going on within our systems currently and how we can continue to get better. I've got a whole packet for every individual that comes in and it's just an overview, kind of some of the stats, even like the why-hey stats, so people can see what's going on.
085And it's built on the strategic plan, our culture, and some other things so you can use it as a resource when you're actually... formulating that activity. So there's two activities per night, and then we wrap it up and then come back next Monday, similar thing. That night it's Portrait of the Graduate, so we're just saying what are those tools, those essentials that individuals need by the time they walk across that stage, as we were talking about a little bit before. And then the second one is, okay, what it's going to look like, sound like, feel like for our current kindergarteners when they're seniors in this district. So based upon all that information, we'll have some consensus gram and really get some things. The bottom line is the outcome is several different pieces. One, we hope
086to gather a lot of great information from everybody from each one of these activities that we can use. I will write a white paper so we can kick that out to the whole community so they can see the happenings and what was going on at this particular event. We're also going to do a little bit of filming, too, so we can capture some of. the happenings that were going on. The next big thing that I'm really excited for is we're going to create an Oriole Academy. And the Oriole Academy is going to be a nine-month endeavor. And we'll get like 30 different players from the community that want to participate. And each month we'll meet one time. you know, for a period of time and we'll just dissect certain areas like the financial area or
087the learning side of things or, you know, we're going to have different elements each time that we can learn more about that, but also how we can partner and be better together moving forward. So we're going to start that year one next year that we hope to keep doing that and make changes throughout the years until we wait about five years before we do our next summit. So we can come back to it and just learn from where we're at and what's going on. And then the final thing is just celebrating who we are. I mean, this is a pretty historic, awesome event that we can come together and celebrate as a community and have people in the room that maybe we haven't even seen before. But it'll be also good for us to just
088learn from each other and listen to see what's happening within that. So super excited. Everyone coming gets a T-shirt. We're sponsored by Burke, local. providers so they're going to help us out with the dinners and you all have a t-shirt when you walk in so it should be a pretty good refill. I ended up signing up on the online thing. I don't know if we were supposed to do that or not, but the school board was one of the boxes to check. Yes. If you have it and you're planning on attending, let me know so I can get you on the list because we're making the tables as we speak. Tomorrow we'll have those all finalized and be ready to go for Wednesday night. If you can only make one, that's okay because we'd rather
089have you there for one rather than missing both. So if you can't make both, I understand. We've got a lot of business stuff going on. But just let me know what days, if you didn't do the online sign-up, what that would look like. Okay? A lot of planning, a lot of put-together. But, yeah, it's going to be a fun night this week and looking forward to it. Nice. Okay. That's all I have on my agenda. Cool. Thank you for sharing all that. We do have four items on new business. The first item is discuss and consider approval for our basketball programs for the trip. Coach Keel had come in two meetings ago to talk about planning a trip for next winter break. So not this year, but next year for the basketball programs. And we're
090just looking, he was just looking for a board approval for the kids to go out of state. So look for a motion for that approval. So moved. I'll second. We have some discussion. Yeah, absolutely. Matt, did Garrett get back with details on money and costs and how they're going to run it? I have not heard back from him yet. I don't know if other players in here have any more information on that yet. Yeah, I mean, this year's rates per player is all-inclusive. It's like $1,500. That's hotel. Park tickets, basketball games. The only thing it does not include is travel. Like travel from Wisconsin to Florida. It also includes travel. there during their time. So that's this year's rates for 20, this 2026. So there he's assuming next year's rate, he'll get that in October.
091They'll do that. And I know he has put together with Coach Putty as well, some things to raise funds, whether it be a shoot-a-thon, pizza sales, different things that they're going to do to lower that cost so that all players are able to go. And it would just be the two varsity programs. That would be going out the entire program. So you're probably talking 26 kids, 24 depending. Are they planning to fly or bus? I think that would probably depend on cost, just with how expensive plane tickets are now. And if that continues to go up, I think they'd probably look at busing. It would be over, though, the dates are after Christmas and before New Year's. So they wouldn't be missing any school. anything like that during that time away. That's all I know.
092So there was more. I'm sure he'd be coming back and sharing some of those once he gets the details. So we had any other questions or any other comments? I had them ready when they're ready. We had our motions ready. Hunkner? Yes. Gillings? Yes. Hock? Yes. Matthew? Yes. Yes. Next item is discuss and consider new hires and resignations. I'm going to break those two apart. First is the resignations we have. We have two resignations. I'll do the vote together just to talk about them. Yeah. Resignations are Miss Sable from Horseman High School and Miss Vigil from Horseman High School Spanish teacher. I just really like to thank them for their contributions to the district and, you know, always wish people the best of luck to continue their journey as an educator. So those are our
093two resignations. The new hire is. max uh davinsky yeah hope i pronounced that right yeah uh will be a sped teacher for horseman high school so uh he'll be starting with us next uh school year so there are no comments or questions i'll look for a motion to approve both the resignations and the new liner i'll second anyone already yes yes Yes. Yes. All right, our third item is discuss and consider approval following athletic worker early wage increase It was in our packet if you had I don't know Matt if you want to give any other context obviously keeping up with Yeah, yeah with what going rates are. That's all small change for each just to be Able to fill those spots so that we can continue our athletics. I'm assuming correct. Yeah, I think
094it's been looked at for a couple years So mr. Quadra looked at that and I think we're competitive with our conference now. Okay This question, I thought that starting, I think this year we were going to try to get volunteers to do these positions, but did that ever apply or were you still, I thought you had sent out, you'd get some Oriole gear if you sign up to volunteer. I think that might have been the initial plan, but. I think struggling to just find even people to do that. And it was more of like, if you do several of these, then we want to give you some gear too, so that you can represent on the same thing. So they were still getting paid, but it was like trying to get people to participate beyond
095the individuals who are always there. We have a group of phenomenal people who are so dedicated to this all the time. And so try to expand what that can be because those people are not going to be around for all the time either. And we want to make sure other people can get involved in that as well. I was going to say it's hard enough to find. Yeah, you're paying to do it stuff that right in the voluntary thing. So alright, I'm good. Look for a motion to approve the athletic worker hourly wage increase for next school year. I'll make the motion. OK, when you're ready, Rick. Yes, yes. Yes. Yes. Our final item is discuss and consider approval of updating National Exchange Bank and Trust authorized user. Overdue, I'm assuming. We need to get
096this one. Yes. So getting Monica, welcome to the team. So just with Maria's retirement and Monica taking over, moving that authorized user, there was a call out to a secondary, if I remember. there's something else listed in that um yeah we're planning i'd like to open up another account just to manage the health insurance keep that separate from our general operating perfect yeah so look for if there's no questions or comments look for approval or a motion to approve uh that item i'll make the motion all at once your choice Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Alright, that is our last item. So we are adjourned today at 735 PM. So have a good night everyone. Have a great evening.
