Thank you, Bill. So we will start with, I call the meeting to order at 634, and we can say the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you very much. Public comments. Joan or Taylor, have there been any public comments we need to consider or reflect upon? It's been quiet. Well, that's a good thing. Nothing traumatic's been going on. Yeah, we're good. Terrific. Review of the minutes from May 6th. They were sent out. I'll give you a chance to kind of look at them one more time. And when you're finished, I will entertain a motion to accept them unless there's some changes. Any thoughts or corrections? All

righty. I'll entertain a motion to accept the minutes as written. I'll make a motion to accept the minutes. Allison, and a second. Karen, I'm going to count on you because we can't see Deb. All right. And all those in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. All right. A review of the May Health Department activity report. Sure. And Nancy, I'm going to leave one item for old business because I think it would be more fun to cover that item there. Okay. So the May was a pretty busy month. Actually, I just sent myself the wrong month to refer to. I'm sorry. And I'm on my home computer. I'm just going to do this off the top of my head rather than looking at my notes. We continue with doing a lot of our preparations for emergency

preparedness events with Sue, particularly coordinating with the rest of Region 1. Tomorrow, we have a Family Assistance Center tabletop exercise. And I'll... Okay. Okay. And Taylor will have all this summarized in your minutes for you. I accidentally sent myself the May one instead of June. Would you like me to send the... Well, May is what we are doing. No, but I have it labeled activities for May, but the May board report. So you don't want to get March and April all over again. That'd be horrible. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Right. Okay. You don't need to do that. I just forwarded to your work email the... I think what I sent you was May. Got it. It was the wrong one. Yeah. So first of all, you all got the email that Sam was honored with the

President's Award at the Connecticut Public Health Nurses Association. That is fantastic. What an honor. Yeah. We're very proud of her for that. And well-deserved. Well-deserved. Yeah. And she also finished a course. She did. She also finished a couple of other certifications because she's... Along with Taylor, she's our perpetual student. So that's who our Sam is. We love it. Let me see. The TAG group has been helping the Counseling Center adolescent group called SLAM with some of their events. So they helped at the Ice Cream Social. They painted some river rocks with kindness messages. You know, like, be kind and like you are enough and those kinds of messages with... And they painted rocks. And Jen Keegan has organized with the library that this month they will be creating a kindness garden. I believe that's next

week that that's happening. And where is that going to be? There's a little nook outside in the... Outside the library. I'm not sure exactly where on the grounds it is. Oh, really? Yeah. The library's been extremely collaborative and eager to coordinate and do things together. And so we'll probably rely on the library even a little bit more because it's a great way to reach the kids. It's easier than going through school structures. Yeah. Yeah. So that's really nice. Next month we will unveil the new TAG logo for you. They worked together to... And I think Jen prompted that. I think Jen prompted them a little bit. And they've created a new logo for themselves. In the more structural space, our electronic health record got... The agreement got signed. We had our two and a half

hour onboarding meeting with the company. Terrific. It's called Patagonia Health. Yeah. And Dr. Deng, it's actually geared toward public health agencies and behavioral health organizations. And so they know how to help us track our stock of vaccines. When we're identifying in a patient's record that we administered a certain vaccine with a certain lot number, it'll automatically draw down from our stock list and it automatically will upload... Taylor, tell me when I'm wrong. This automatically going to upload into the billing module, which includes a clearinghouse, to get the request for payments out to the insurance companies. And so this is going to be... Jen and Taylor are so excited. Yeah. So this is big. In our notes that we'll send you later is the schedule of when all of our next meetings are. We already met

to create a calendar. So on our training days will be for three weeks. Okay. So we'll have three days in July. And then August 11th, our project manager will come onsite and go live with us. And we're going to try to schedule vaccinations. So Dr. Deng, if you guys want to turf any of your vaccinations over to... I'm sure PHA doesn't want to do that. But anyway, we're going to try to schedule some vaccinations for that day so we can go through the routine in real time while she's there with us. Now do you have to take old records and enter that information into this system? So it goes into... The names have already... Names and dates of birth have already been sent over to them for them to use while they're building the system

for us. And then we'll need to do a final data migration to get as much of their records to be complete, as possible. It may be that we'll keep their names in there. And then just one more time, we'll be able to scan both the parents, adults and parents' IDs and scan their insurance cards. And the scanning will auto-populate the database. So when... I'm sorry, I'm interrupting you with the question. Yeah. No, it's great. When the Yale Health System went live with Epic... Yeah. I've forgotten what we called it. But for months beforehand, we took... We had to have information of immunizations and different things put into the new system. A lot of it was archived, but so that there would be basic... Like say with prenatal patients, anything that had happened in that pregnancy,

for example, or... Right. With a pediatric patient, any immunizations they had had prior, and there was a special screen that they could use to enter this information. Is any of that going on or you're just kind of... Which is fine too. Scanning the old things, you can pull it up if you need it, but everything starts here and moving forward. I can't remember... Taylor, do you remember whether their vaccination records are getting transferred over or are we just going to re-enter them one more time? Yeah. One more time. Well, whenever they come again. So since it's compatible with CTWiz, it should communicate both ways. It's going to go through CTWiz. That's why it's such a help with Sam because... Even better. We put in that... Even better. We'll log it in CTWiz for her. Perfect.

And we think we're pretty sure it's actually going to download from CTWiz as well as uploading. Which will be really, really, really helpful. And Nancy, don't forget, we only have about 900 to 1,000 patients. Yeah. So we're going to be able to get them in. Yeah. We're going to have about 200 to 1,000 patients in our database. Whereas Yale has probably 100,000. That's a zillion. Yeah. But I just... That was the analogy I had. But... Right. All right. So... No, but our scale is so much more modest that we'll be able to manage. Okay. Perfect. Yeah. Well, this sounds like it's going to be ideal. Yeah. We're really excited. And it'll be far more secure for our patients. Terrific. Yeah. We're excited about that. So I can give you some hints from the report that

you sent. Oh, yeah. I've got the raw reports. Okay. So the big stuff going on with the infectious diseases right now, or the health area is ticks. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of them. Yeah. And you see, we've got good eight... As of May, not even June, we have, I believe, eight cases of Lyme. No babesiosis or anything else in between. No babesiosis or anything else interesting. But the ticks are coming in several a day. So it's great that people are willing to bring them in. Yeah. Was there anything in particular, doctor, maybe with the weather or just people are getting outside? People are getting outside. People are getting outside and the weather, because if the weather's nice, people are getting outside. Yeah. Okay. There you go. Yeah. It's kind of been said across the entire

state that it's a work in progress. Yeah. Yeah. So I think that's a good thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's great that it's a worse season than usual. Okay. We got all the pools licensed and did a lot of septic work in April. And now May was a little bit quiet and it's picking up again in June. So they're doing a lot more soil testing and getting the septic work underway. The temporary licenses have become quite active. The seasonals, they're now, and it'll be busy. You'll see the data for June. Next time, I'll probably send you a report while you're on vacation so you can just see what the numbers are looking like. We've got all the Trumbull Day

and the BMX championships and all these special activities happening. So there are a lot of seasonal licenses happening. We did have one hoarding slash squalor case that was referred to us, but then we actually didn't have to act on it. It was a person living in a private home, and the fire marshal's office worked with the family to move it into another mechanism for the family of the person to deal with things. So we didn't have to, but it was... It was still kind of heartbreaking to see someone struggling the way she was. That's pretty much the environmental health piece. Sue and Sam did do a mental health first aid course for some MPH students at Sacred Heart, which was great. And that was in May. I'm trying not to give you too much June

stuff. Whoa, whoa, whoa. You know, the election. Yeah, let me look more at Sam's. Oh, the other thing we've been tracking, Sam and I, is we were tracking hantavirus, and that fizzled out beautifully. I believe everyone has been released from the Nebraska center or about to be. So that was great. And then we're tracking Ebola. Yeah, I saw that. We have some travelers who are being monitored. And in health districts, we do not have anyone who has returned from either DRC or Uganda or South Sudan. But none of the travelers coming back to Connecticut are high risk. They've been in the countries, and therefore, they're not under quarantine. They're free to move about. If they go out of state, they inform their health district. Just to let DPH know so they can let the other

state know that if somebody gets sick, they can go back to their health district. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then we did have, I made a note that we did have, do have a measles case in an adult in Hartford. Oh. In the Hartford Health District. And that person did not go back to the hospital. not go out and about. They weren't moving around a lot when they came home and then got sick and went straight to their providers. So they're not too worried about there being a lot of chaos in terms of exposure from a million different entities. So that's really good. So was this someone who would have had the disease so they didn't get vaccinated, they were of

that age, or they were an adult who didn't get vaccinated? They were not vaccinated. I mean, an adult is over 18, right? Yeah, yeah. It's probably not your age or my age. They're not my age that they had it when they were little. But my boys who are 38 and 45, they were vaccinated and they're adults. So okay, so this was a person over 18 who wasn't vaccinated. Yeah. And Sue and Taylor also freshened up our webpage. So on the town website, so go in and watch. I'm going to wander around a little bit. So Taylor, I'm talking about you. I'm so sorry. Vinny's over here opening up drawers. He's the two-year-old. Yeah. That you and Sue worked on freshening up our website. Yes. It's more descriptive and yeah, more fresh, right? And I made

like a page for everything. So this way there's not like one just fees forms. And I made like a page with everything jumbled on there. It's like, you know, where to go for each section in which you would need something for. And I tried to clear things from like 2021 still on there. Like some things that we don't even have anymore. So we worked with Bill and we cleaned it all up. Well, thank you. And now we figured out it's not rocket science and we can keep tweaking it as we need to go. So right. We can always feel free to annoy Bill, right Bill? Okay. And Sue and Sam also went to a training, I'm just realizing with my notes here, on a training on how to design and conduct the tabletop exercises, conducting

risk assessments, et cetera, for whenever we have an emergency planning that's needed. And so it's good. Some of the resources in the region are kind of retiring and moving on. So it's good to keep developing more resources in the region that can do that. Okay, great. Yeah, really helpful. And I'm going to move into what's coming up, because there's a lot coming up. I mentioned the Kindness Garden that's happening in June. And, oh, hey, Lucien. Look at the little sweetie. She hasn't come to the office. Yeah, she is beautiful. The team will be involved in Trumbull Day, as I mentioned, and the BMX Nationals for all the food vendors. There's a triathlon happening, and this was in last month's update, too. There's a triathlon happening, I think it's July 11. Yeah, it's July 11. For

little kids. And so we'll be there with our table and supporting them. Well, in June, because we had a heads up for June, on June 17, Wednesday, June 17, Sam is doing... That's today. Yeah, because we're in May now. I'm giving you the May report. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay. So Sam did a training. This is the annual training for the... Trumbull Health Department staff and went over, like, biological exposures and for airborne and blood and how to don and doff PPE. I need to get fit tested next week with her. She taught us about... We went over Narcan and hands-free CPR. Stop the bleed. So we learned how to manage our tourniquets, and we each received a tourniquet to keep in our vehicles. And several of us took boxes of Narcan. I'll give you

that update right now, too, to have available. And the QPR, the question, persuade, refer, we went over that. So we got a nice... And using the AED. Did I mention that? AED, mm-hmm. And using the AED. So we got a really nice sort of emergency, light-touch emergency intervention overview. It's good for all of us to have it, even though we're not EMTs, but just as being citizens out there, we've got these skills. Oh, and injecting EpiPens, or... I forgot the name of the other one. Doc, you might... Remember. AQV. Oh, AviQ. AviQ. AviQ. AviQ. The AviQ. That one's little. That looks nicer for a lady's purse, I gotta say. And it talks to you, too. Yes. Yes, it talks to you. Yeah. They can both carry it, and they love the AviQ because of the

size. I might encourage my daughter to move over to AviQ. And the college kids love it. They do? The AviQ? Well, it's small if they put it in their pocket and they can go to a party or whatever. Yeah. Yeah, they can put it in their back jean pocket. Yeah. Basically. Yeah. Yeah, so it was a great day. And don't tell anybody, but we also went out to lunch. Good for you. Yeah. It was great. All of Trumbull now knows. Yeah, I know. That's okay. We don't mind. Yeah. But the team deserves it. I think that's all the big stuff. I'm trying to think of what else big is coming up. What I love to hear is all the ways that you're out in the community and being visible, in addition to all the good

things that you're... doing within the four walls, you're out there and people know that there's a health department. And I think that's marvelous. Nancy, there's the one other thing. Sue's collaborating with the Yukon Agriculture Extension Program for a healthy eating session for the seniors at the Senior Center in July. Wonderful. We haven't done one of those in a while. Thank you. But... Pursue a place. Yeah. Yeah. It's the only one we got so far. Yeah. Yeah. That's... Again, you're out in the community and that's terrific. I'm working on it. Yeah. Wonderful. Anything else you want to add or are there any questions about the May activity that anybody has for Joan? No. So we have old business. I think you have an item. Is it a bench? It would be a bench. Oh, okay. So

we finally figured out... Just took one email to start the ball rolling. You know, live and learn. We... So the first elections office suggested we approach Parks and Rec because they have an actual program of donated benches and trees. So... And there's a donation form. So we got that completed. It's $2,000 for the bench. And we approached the education department, the school system, and both Lynn Steinbrick and Marty Semel were just over the moon to support. So they're paying for half of it. Terrific. And we wrote a dedication for Parks and Rec for them to put on. You're just thanking him for his many years of service. And trying not to make it sound like a memoriam, but really honoring him. Correct. And yeah, so we're not... I need to get in touch with him

again now. I think with Trumbull Day coming up, it might be hard to get Dimitri's attention until maybe early July to get his attention about where it will go. It'll be in Twin Brooks. Okay. But identifying the actual site. The... The... The... The person on his team I was communicating with said that she... I think her name's Gretchen. She thinks there might be a couple of empty slabs, cement slabs, that can take benches, but she's not sure. If they need to... If they need to pour a new slab somewhere, then it's a little bit more of a delay because it just takes more time. And a little bit more manpower to make that. And a little bit more manpower to make that happen. If it's a matter of just ordering the bench and installing a

bench, it'll be a lot easier. So we'll figure that out. But the bench is coming, people. It's been ordered. That's good news. Yeah. It would be wonderful if... I mean, I would certainly be there if... And we can get Dr. there and Vicki there and, you know, whoever of us is able to be there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She loves doing a proclamation. I don't, but now I feel important. Okay. Thank you. But I do think that, you know, if it has anyone been

able to be in touch, I have sent a couple of texts and haven't got a response. Now, Karen and Allison, you work in the same building as his daughter, right? without breaching any confidentiality that she might not want to breach. Maybe you could talk to her and find out how he's doing and just tell him that we're sending our love and that we have a special occasion coming up for him or something. So I actually just saw her on Monday when I was coming into work. I reached out to her. Joan had wanted to find out how many years of service he had given to the community. So I had already contacted her about that. Joan said we were allowed to let her know kind of what the plan was. So she was already aware

of that. So when I did see her in person, she did say that she shared with her family kind of what was happening. They were very grateful for honoring Dr. Kunkel. And I told her we'll keep her obviously posted if there's a day where the bench is formally dedicated or something like that. But I did tell her to say that we're all thinking of him. We keep him in our thoughts. And she was appreciative of that. Terrific. Did she say how many years of service? She said it was close to like 30. Yeah, but I did the math on those years, though, because she said it was when Ray was first elected. Yeah. So then I looked those dates up. It's more like 23. Oh, is it? I'm surprised it's only 23. Truthfully. Okay. I

know. It's a very long time. But I thought maybe there was some interims or something. So it was when Ray Baldwin. Okay. Well, that's what she said. Okay. Well, I think, Joan, when he would say how many years, I think he might have been including when it was Monroe and Trumbull. Yes. Oh, good. Good point. Yes. Yes. Because he was very proud of the fact how long he has served. But I believe he might be, you know, counting the Monroe when it was Monroe Trumbull. Well, Monroe Trumbull, that would have been under Ray, right? Ray was before Herbst. It ended and we became separate when... Who was before Ray? Who was the... Became separate. The young man. He went to school with my son. Under Herbst. Yeah. Tim Herbst. It was under him that we

separated. But who was before Ray Baldwin as selectman? A woman whose name I'm blanking on. Isn't that... She volunteers in your department. In Smilo. I saw her. Yeah. No way. And I saw her and I said, oh, hey, I voted for you. She goes, oh, you were the one. She has a good sense of humor. Oh, isn't that awful? I can see her face. Yeah. But she's a volunteer in Smilo. I would double check those dates because, like I said, he was always very proud of how long he served. But I don't know. Before Ray, it was Kenneth Halleby. Yeah. That's right. I remember that. I just googled. I think Kenneth Halleby, David Wilson. Yeah. That's right. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli.

Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Paul Tavalli. Yeah. Joan's got the same site that I've got. Yeah. Okay. Good old Google. Tim Finnelli was the town clerk when I moved to Trumbull, and I registered to vote with Paul Tim Finnelli. Oh, that's funny. Now you know I'm really old, right? Okay. Oh, my gosh. Joan, do you think that we should include the Monroe Trumbull time or just the Trumbull time? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think what we thought might be easiest is to not, not put an actual number of years unless he can tell us how many years it was. Right. Okay. That's fair. And just, you know, for his many years. We're honoring his years of service. We might have even said more than 20 or something like that. But before they finalize the

bench, the Parks and Rec will come back to us to, like, triple check what we want the words to be so we can take a little time. Yeah. You know, honoring his many years. Yeah. And, you know, we're going to have to do that. And, you know, we're going to have to do that. And, you know, we're going to have to do that. And, you know, we're going to have to do that. Yeah. It's also a little bit simpler, too. Yeah. Yeah. And so, Nancy, I think I'll, I think maybe I'll push on Dimitri just a little bit, just so that nothing untoward happens to Doc be in the interim, you know? Yeah. I mean, if someone's moving toward the more fragile side, you just don't know how precipitous things could end up. Yeah. Good

point. Yeah. Yeah. Good point. Yeah. Well, I appreciate all the work that this has taken, Joan, and I appreciate Allison and Karen catching up on information for us. But I think this is a wonderful thing to do. It's the right thing. And he deserves a bench. You know, we talked about what should we do and tree, a flower, and the bench I think is a great idea because it should stay there for a very long time. So I think that's great. And it's a place he can go. You know? Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Terrific. Anything else then on the old business of the bench? I think we've covered it. Is there any other old business? Deb, you usually have a question for old business. Anything that you want to ask? No, that would have been it.

That would have been it. Okay. That would have been it. That would have been it. Is there any new business that anyone would like to bring forward or has anything? No. All righty. Well, if there is no more information related to the activity report or older new business, I will entertain a motion for adjournment. Before we do that, though, we're not meeting again now until September, correct? Correct. Okay. Correct. Just wanted to be sure. And Taylor, that one's in person? Yes. I believe so. I checked today. We get to see each other. In person. See you in September. Okay. So we will. And I might send you just a couple little quick updates in July and August. Just so you don't forget that we exist. And, you know. Yeah. That would be good. Yeah. And

you know, getting all of your updates. They're very helpful. They're very appropriate. Yeah. I agree. I appreciate that. And if you ever do need us to meet or you need a phone call or you need anything, you know, we're here and I'm happy to help in any way. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. If something big. And now Dr. is right down the street right here. Right. Very easy. He's easy. He's easy. Dr. Donahan, did you get your swag? I did. You did? I did. Even Joe was like, like not this Joe, but Joe in your office was like, oh, this notebook's nice. Yeah. It's a nice notebook. I actually, you know what? As a matter of fact, hold on a second. I have it right here. Ah. There you go. Very good.

Yeah. Nice. I do. Sometime when you're, when you're driving into your office, just go down one extra exit and, and just swing by us. We're right off the highway. My coming into the office, I start my patients at eight. So I don't think you want me there that early. Okay. So maybe, maybe swinging around on the way home might be a little better. On the way home. Right. Right. Do you live close? Does this make your commute? Rich is there at eight. No. Yeah. Rich is there at eight. That's true. Yeah. That's true. But your commute's about the same. Uh, your commute's about the same. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It's about the same. Instead of, instead of making a right onto 111, I'm making it left. That's all. Okay. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There

you go. All right. So is there any other business, anything else we need to talk about? All right. I will entertain a motion for adjournment. Alistair's shaking her head and Karen is going to second. And all those in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. And Bill, thank you. Our meeting is over. You can stop recording. And I hope your children have a wonderful summer and with the baseball and the camp and swimming and all the fun things. So, and you too, Taylor, you're just going to keep your head above water. No, it's Taylor's birthday tomorrow. Oh, happy birthday. Thank you. Thank you for all that you do. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Taylor. Happy birthday to you. Thank you. All righty. Everyone have a wonderful summer. As always, thank you for your participation.

All right. Good summer, guys. And Joey, Taylor, and the team, you guys are the best. Thank you, guys. You're absolutely stellar. I'm always in awe of all you get done. They're awesome. Bye-bye now. Bye-bye. Bye.
