Hey. Hey. Hey. Heat up here. Heat. Lou. Hey. Hey. D. Hey, hey, hey. Heat. Heat. Yeah. All right. We're going to call the regularly the regular board meeting uh March 16th, 2026 to order at we're a little early at like 5:50 um p.m. Um do you want to let him go first and get that over so he can >> Well, do the public comments. >> Okay. Well, public comments. Is there anybody? Miss Julie, you got anything? >> We don't have any public comments. The next thing was supposed to be election of officers, but we'll just go ahead and let him do that and then we'll do that after the fact. Okay. >> Yeah, we can do that or do you want to elect officers in case? >> No, you go right ahead. >> Okay. I

was going to say there's if y'all do approve this, we'll need signatures from officers. So, >> Okay. So, we need to do that. Let's go ahead and do the officers. >> Okay. Let's just go ahead and do the the the election of officers. Um, welcome Mark Killings to your new seat and Brian Allen Ball for being reelected. um pass the election, we need to um redo our officers. And so I'm assuming I need a motion for the for I guess all the above um for board president. >> Do it. >> Open the floor for nominations for board president. There you go. >> Okay. I nominate Alan Holmes. >> I second that. I have a nomination and a second for myself. Thank y'all very much. Any other nominations? I guess we will let motions cease. All

those in favor say I. I. >> Any opposed? >> Motion carries. Okay. With Miss Janet leaving, we have the vice president is open. So I need to open the floor for motions for vice president. >> I nominate Brian. >> Have a nomination for Brian Alen Ball. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Have a nomination and a second. Any other motions? All those in favor say I. >> I. Any opposed? Motion carries. The next one which is the most important one is open open it up for the board secretary. >> Nominations for the board secretary. >> I'll nominate Nik. >> I'll second. >> We have a nomination a second for Nikki Schaefer. All those in favor say I. I. >> Any opposed? Motion carries. >> Now I believe we can. Okay. We can go

ahead and this would be a part of our action item, but we go ahead and move Mr. Dos first and I'll go ahead and let you introduce yourself. Mr. Dobs, >> sounds great. Um, do y'all need hard copies of this agreement? Do y'all have copies? >> I think I've got it on. There should be a hard copy in your >> Well, I've got copies if y'all need them. Um, so I'm Michael Dos with First Security Beersley. Um, I've been here before with you guys. I think it was before y'all's election. Maybe I was here during the sign up filling in for Dan. Uh, Dan retired at the end of last year. So, I have uh taken over most of his accounts. This is one that kind of fit in with my area. I work with

Augusta on one side of y'all. I work with Win on the other side. I don't know how Dan got sandwiched in the middle with you guys. Uh but I know he did a great job. Enjoyed working with y'all for those years. So, um glad to be uh taking his spot over here. On that note, I also want to say thank you guys for passing that election last year because Augusta passed theirs this year. I don't think they would have gone for it had it not been to keep up with McCroy and uh you know keep up with you guys on that. So that worked out for everybody. Um tonight we've got a renewal for the three-year service agreement. Uh this is you know our standard or has been our standard agreement standard time frame over

the years. Uh I wanted to be sure and be here tonight to go over this one with you guys um because there are some changes on it. from prior years. Um the main, you know, change, well, two really main changes. Um in the past, we've always collected a fee during a bond issue. That's not changing. The part of that that's changing is we're splitting out legal fees from our fee. Uh so just to give you an example on a $3 million bond issue, the old fee would have been $30,000. Under the new schedule, um and out of that $30,000, we would have paid about $6,000 in legal fees. Under the new schedule, our fee would be $24,000. The bond attorney would charge you $6,000 separately. So it ends up being the same amount just split

out differently. So that that new fee schedule that's going to be in that contract is adjusted to kind of make up for those legal fees being split out separately. There's not the legal fee schedule in this because we're not now party to that. That's a separate uh fee schedule. Uh fee schedules for lease purchase agreements or short short-term financings, those are not changing. Those are all staying the same. Um and so all of that is going to be the same. Uh there is a new part that we're adding on uh which is an annual fee um based on um mostly continuing disclosure services which those are multiple reports we have to file on a regulatory basis for you guys every year. Um most companies that do that on a national level charge somewhere between $1,500

and $2,500 a year for that. Uh in addition, you know, we try to do annual services for you guys, whether that's board trainings, sample budgets and ballots, uh updating, uh financial reviews and and financial projections and those kind of things. Um and so all that comes together. um management decided to add an annual fee of $2,000 a year rather than us trying to increase our bond issuance fees uh like other uh companies have done. And just to give youall an example of kind of how those fees compare, you know, when we're asking for $2,000 a year versus um increasing the bond fees, you know, on y'all's bond deal last year, $5,980,000, the total fees, our fees plus legal fees was just under $38,000. Uh there was a $6.1 million deal done at Hoxy recently with

one of our competitors. uh they charged just under it was like $49,000 almost $50,000 on that. So about a $12,000 difference there. So rather than us increasing our kind of bond fees to keep up with them and cover some of those additional costs that we have to incur now compliance and regulations and those kind of things. Um it kind of made more sense and I think in the long run will be cheaper for districts to kind of have keep our bond fees down uh and just have kind of that annual services fee on top of that. So, um I will say in years that we're doing bond issues, we're not going to charge you both. So, you know, let's say in a couple of years we can refinance that bond that we did last year,

get a better rate on it. In that year, we wouldn't also charge the $2,000 fee. We kind of just eat that for the year. Um but those are kind of the changes. Um always kind of hate to ask for adjustments on those contracts and things. This is the first one that we've had in the 20ish years that I've been working on school districts. Um, so it was time to make some changes and adjustments, but still, uh, you never like to have to do it. But that being said, uh, if there's any questions, thoughts, comments, concerns, you know, please feel free to let me know. >> Anybody got anything? >> Okay. Yep. >> So, I'm assuming that we need to do this as a motion as suggested on this piece of paper. >> Yeah. >> To

employ First Security Beardsley as municipal adviser. Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, I guess I need a motion to employ First Security Beardsley as municipal adviser and physical agent for a period of the next three years effective as of the date of adoption. >> Motion. >> Second. I have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any opposed? Motion carries. >> Let me get just a couple of signatures here. Give president and secretary signature. I will say I'm glad to see Mark here on the school board with you guys. You know, we worked together for a number of years. Uh maybe not worked together, worked around each other for a number of years. And I kind of always knew I'd end up working for Mark one way or the other. It's

finally finally come to pass. >> Come full circle. >> Yeah. >> It's a good thing though. >> He'll get he'll get you one way or the other. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Well, I can tell you this about having having Michael U. Dan may have been the face of who you all were dealing with, but Michael has been the brain trust for the school advisory business for Beardsley for for a long long long time. So, we're in really really good hands with Michael and I feel really good about having him. supporting us and uh it'll be really it'll be a good relationship. I'm confident. >> Good deal. >> I appreciate that. I really do. Well, guys, um that's all I've got. Again, thank y'all. Uh look forward to to continuing to work with y'all. Uh

trying to fill Dan's shoes as best I can. U certainly if there's anything I can ever do for you guys, please don't hesitate to let me know. Uh and we'll do everything we can. Right. >> Appreciate it. I guess >> the next is the approval of the minutes from the last meeting on February 23rd, 2026. If everybody's had a chance to look over those, do they anybody see anything needs to be changed or revised or Karen doesn't make mistakes. So >> if not, I need a motion to approve. >> Second. >> I have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any opposed? Motion carries. Let's move on to the financials. Mr. Wayer. >> Okay. Uh looking at the expense and revenue. It's always the good combination when you spent

less than you did last year, but you got more revenue than you did last year. So, good combination there. >> Always a good thing. Uh if you looked at the check register, you'd see that we made our first payment on our HVAC project. It's a little over $157,000, which will get a percentage back from our partnership money on that. Uh board report, we finished February just a little over 1.7 compared to a little over 1.3, which is 381,000 more than what we had last year. Once again, I did not include fund 3000 because of the construction bonds. If you looked at our legal balance, funds one, two, and four, you'll see an increase in the past four years. Uh from 23 to 24, we increased from uh a little over 10%. From 24 to 25,

we 13% and from 25 to 26 in February, we went up 20.89%. So in those four years, our legal balance has increased 50.75%. So real real proud of our building administration team. You know, sometimes you got to say no to people and and we've done a good job staffing and and that's been the biggest thing. Uh we're closing budget now, so we're we're definitely saying no now and we're getting ready to start next year's budget. But any questions over financials? >> I don't have any. Is anybody else? >> Do we have a breakout somewhere of the funds in the bond fund and what's what's been committed so far and what we have left? At some point it would be help it help me just to get caught up on where we're at with all that.

>> So that being said, I need a motion to approve the financials for last month. Motion >> second. >> I have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any opposed? >> Motion carries. Sorry, I got sidetracked. Okay, the next thing let's see is our fiscal year 25 legislative audit. Everybody should have received one of those in the mail. Uh, you know, my recommendation is to accept the fiscal year 25 legislative audit. It was clean and contained no findings. So, that's always a positive. That's that's what mine read. Anybody have any questions about that? >> Nope. >> If not, then I need a motion to to accept it as presented. >> Motion. >> Second. >> I have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. >> I.

>> Any oppose? Motion carries. In the last action item, I don't know if y'all had a chance to go by the football stadium and see some of the renovations that's been done with the railings and stuff. It it it's a big change, but I've been waiting on a third bid for concrete cuz the last part is ripping out the old concrete pads and installing new. So, I got three bids and my recommendation, we got three bids. The first bid was 51,800. Second bid was 40,400. And the bid that I would recommend came in at $32,210. So I'd recommend that the board accept a bid of $32,210 from Brockman Construction for the installation of the concrete slabs on both sides of the home football bleachers. >> Now that's for on both sides for >> Yeah. For

they're doing the stes because the stes were not in alignment either. So if you look at our new steps, we've got because the height did not meet the requirement. So they've added steps throughout. So that first step, I guess it' be on the south entrance. We had to rip all those steps up too. >> This is what? >> Well, this is regular. It was too high just for even just to to meet regulation. >> And this has to do with like the sidewalk. >> No, not not not our sidewalk that we talked about, but we are going to do something. >> I start what what are we going to do with our sidewalk? I mean, we going to get it done eventually or Okay. >> All right. Um, then I need a motion that we

go with the Rockman Construction um as presented by Mr. Wayer to do the concrete at the football field. And I just lost everything. >> Have a motion. >> Second. I have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any oppose? Motion carries. >> Guess next we move on to your report. >> Yeah, we'll go on to the report right now, which I know we got a kid today at the elementary, didn't we, Miss Johnston? We may have lost two, but we picked up one. So, so that's kind of the way it rolls sometimes. But right now, well, as of last uh the 5th of March, we had a total enrollment of 505 facility update. We're going to advertise for our asphalt project just because we're required to do that. That

will open up tomorrow to take those things. HVAC project at the elementary is probably about 70% complete. Uh intendance incentive this year was down or this month was down in February compared to previous months. We had seven out of 27 classified with perfect attendance. We had 16 out of 52 with perfect attendance and we had five out of 10 bus drivers with perfect attendance. And then getting close to spring break, so kids are ready, teachers are ready, and everybody's ready. >> Yes, it it's that time of the year. Everybody's ready. >> Absolutely. >> And I will turn it over to Miss Johnston. >> Um, we do have a spot in our prek. We have 19 kids right now. Now we can have up to 20. And so I did post that on Facebook today. So

hopefully we'll get somebody who who needs and wants to enroll their kid. Uh past events, we had career day. I guess that was that Friday. I can't even think. Might have been Friday. It was within the last week or so. Um Miss Lindsay, our counselor, put together a grade schedule and everything. Each grade level um had a different speaker. Kids got to dress up as what they want to be whenever they grow up. and they had a really good time and um everybody was really complimentary of our kids whenever they came in to present to them. They said they were very well behaved and respectful, had great questions and everything and so that was a really great time. Um book fair is this week. Parent night is actually going on right now until 6:30 so

the kids can come in and shop with their parents and then it'll be open the rest of the week. Then of course we've got spring break next week. As far as academics go, um we've done all of our Atlas interims, Atlas training, we'll do another one on April 8th to make sure that we're ready for the actual summitive test, which will be April 21st through 22nd for K2 and May 4th through 7th, 436. And then as far as behavior for past three weeks leading up to when I did this report, I had 30 office referrals. Uh 12 of those um resulted in out of school suspension, 12 in in school suspension, and three lunch detention. highest um things that I was dealing with were disrespect, disruption, and defiance. And that's all. >> Thank you very

much. >> High school. Our enrollment hazard today was 207. We had our cheer triyouts on March the 14th. And I want to announce those girls when I get >> Thank goodness. >> Girls uh basketball team made it to the regionals. baseball softball season has began and I know they both have two conference games this week. I believe they play Carile tomorrow and Palestine weekly on Friday. I know the boys are in a training in uh during spring break. Uh like I said, the senior cheerleader had their triyouts this past weekend. Academic wise, our juniors uh took the ACT on March the 10th. And we had two different people come and talk to the juniors and seniors also about their futures. And that was uh one Nashville Auto and Diesel and then Job Courts came and

talked to them about several options that they could look forward to. Um here's the deal. that we're going to get started and Miss Johnson, I'm not sure what that first date will be, but elementary has asked for volunteers of some senior high students to come eat lunch with elementary students. And I think we're going to do that once a month. Um, and we have had several kids u volunteer and want to do that. So, I think that'll be good. >> Uh, we have spring cleaning dance coming up March the 14th at the I guess we've already had that at McCroy Civic Center. Um, color run will be April the 18th at the Elizabeth Swanson Sports Complex and that's open to all students at MHS. Uh, as well as people in the community and any questions

contact Miss Quadabomb. And then of course our prom is coming up in April and the deadline is this Friday to pay for that for juniors uh that are attending. Discipline wise still the biggest issue is tardies. Uh we got no phones this month. Uh as when I I typed this up, but I believe we've got a couple since then. Uh on to the cheerleaders, senior cheer squad for next year. Aasha Arizona, Caitlyn Coohl's, Claire Coos, Kelsey Conway, Lexi Fisher, Addison Fitz, Mallerie Hollowell, Cali Hopkins, Campbell Lowry, Sawyer Nichols, Bentley Ruddic, Hadley Russian, Hayden Snder, Brley Walker, Ava Weatherford, and Marley Whitehead. And that is 16 uh senior high cheer. And then they'll also be in the competitive side of it as well. Junior cheers Deina Arizona Logan Marley Kaine Rayley Daniel Hadley Fryer Carrington Lowry

Aubrey Nigin Melissa Parker Lenley Quadabomb Caroline Renick Anna Smith and Austin Woodall and we have a mascot uh for this year so no Jag will be out again and that will be Miss Tegan Hicks. Good deal. >> Hey, on the u the the eating with the kids, the the senior high going down there. Is that is there some criteria for that or >> Yeah, we're working on that. >> We're working on that. Okay. Y'all still working on it? >> Yeah. Yeah, we talked about that um in our >> I think I think it's very good. I just wondered what what >> Yeah, definitely having having a set criteria. Okay. Yeah. Getting that. >> Okay. All right. Thank you. That's everything we have on the regular agenda. Does anybody have anything before we go into executive

session for personnel? Then we will go into executive session for personnel at 6:12. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Hey, hey. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. What are you doing? I'm going to need

a motion to hire Miss Kristen Ruddic as a high school cheerleading coach effective the 26 27 school year. Can we do both of them at the same time, Karen? And Miss Monica Engel as as the junior high uh cheer coach for the 2627 school year. >> Motion. >> Second. >> I have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any oppose? >> Motion carries. Now, moving on. I need a motion to accept the the resignation of Anthony Rogo. That name doesn't doesn't ring with me, but uh coach Rogo effective the end of the year. >> Motion. >> Second. I have a motion, a second. All those in favor say I. >> I. Any opposed? Also, I need a motion to accept the resignation of Miss Brandy Crouch effective I guess

retroactively uh March the 12th of this year. >> Motion. >> Second. I have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. I. Any opposed? >> There's any other business before the board? >> None.
