Hey everyone, just want to come to you today and give you a board recap from our March board meeting. Uh in that meeting, first off, the board had to elect officers as the first meeting after an election. We just want to thank Miss Teresa Dallas for the the time she served on this board and everything that she did uh and put in while she was here. At the same time, we want to congratulate Mr. Robert Huleston. We're thankful to have him and his willingness to serve and we look forward to all that he brings to our board. Uh the board took action this month. Uh first point of action was to adopt act 504 cyber security policy and Mr. Bo Kemp had been working on that. That's a new policy that we have to adopt
and get into place. Uh so that was adopted. Uh after that Nav Ho was here. They gave us a construction update. Just a lot of great things going on. Uh we are on target. We're on track. Kindergarten is moving well. The roof is going on. Uh we just about done with the outside when it comes to construction. Uh so that building is moving. Still going to move into it to start this next school year. Uh the high school, as you can see, there's a lot of work going on. You can show up one day to the next and there's a huge transformation taking place over there. So, uh just some great updates, a lot going on. We'll also keep you updated as we see uh big things take place in those buildings. The other thing
that Navo did while they're here went over their construction manage management qualifications. That's something we have to review every year and approve by the board for them to continue to be our construction manager. So that was approved. The other thing, Miss Hannah Sutton was awarded a CTE grant for anatomage tablets in her medical class. and that is through a grant. And although that's running through the co-op, the co-op helped write that grant, we still have to approve that. And so we approved that Monday night as well. Uh then one of the things that if you remember, we had a marquee sign out by the highway right there by the Methodist church in the corner of Jackson. And that marquee sign will be replaced is replaced with insurance, but we had to get that approved. And
the reason that we needed to do that through the school board is because Ace Signs has has installed all of our other video boards and for the technology to be the same and interchangeable, we want to stay with them. They are a tips vendor, so they have been bid out already and approved. Uh so we approved that marquee sign Monday night. That will be paid for out of tornado uh funds. The other thing that we haven't uh finalized yet, we started the install of the video board in Arena, if you remember, right before the tornado hit, but we didn't ever go back and put in the stat board uh that was planned to go in with that. And so, we needed to reapprove that board uh Monday night. And so, that board was approved and
it will go in. It is also by ACE. What that allows is we can show stats while at the same time being able to use the video board. And if you've been into the games, you've noticed it's kind of been a little tricky. We can't do both. And so there's been nights if we have kids there and we're trying to show three-point shot or ace or kill or anything like that, we can't do that and have stats. So that board will get installed uh pretty soon. The other thing, we had a small leak in the junior high gym. Uh so we've got to repair that floor. Uh reroute that water line that's underneath that floor. And while we're repairing that floor, it's also time to completely resurface it. So Gem Masters uh which is also
another TIPS vendor uh has done our arena will come in and do that this summer. So the board did approve that and we'll get that floor completely taken back down to the the wood and refinished. Um, one of the things that we had to get approved also was an estate uh by Miss Judith P that that there is a high school scholarship fund that comes out of that estate. But the issue is we were we were not we did not have a resolution in place for Miss Melinda Haynes, our district book uh bookkeeper to be able to award those funds to the students that received that scholarship. So that resolution was put in place to give her the authority to uh pull that money down and send it to the college that that student is
going to. And then uh one of the big things that we do each month is we have a data presentation. So this month is special education recognition month uh and Miss S. Shondaanda Murphy came in and and gave data over that. We are very excited about the growth that our special ed students are making especially in the inclusion classroom. we are seeing them score uh higher than they've scored in previous years and that's a testament to the teachers and the work that they're doing to make sure those students are included and that they are receiving grade level content. Uh and then lastly, we had personnel. Uh this month was a month that we renewed all other staff that's certified and classified staff members. Uh so we approved those and the board accepted all of the
renewals that were turned in by the administrators uh or supervisors with only one exception. So um we're able to get that done as well as new hires. Uh so it is another great great month. We we appreciate uh you checking in and and we're going to continue to bring these to you uh after each board meeting. Thank you.
