001Hi, I'm Amelia Waites and I'm in fifth grade and I go to Courtway Middle School. My favorite subject is math because my teacher [music] Ms. Fitzgerald explains it very well. My favorite activities is art because I like painting [music] and working with pastels. My favorite project we've done this year is the ice cream cone because we use pastels [music] and we made a 3D cherry on top. My favorite thing to do is read because I just like I'm mostly into graphic novels and my favorite graphic novel is Sunny by Jennifer Holm. It is like she just like I get her and yeah, it's a book series and so it's one she has her first job at a a pool a public pool concessions bar. Yeah, and then she has one where it was like she
002was on a debate team and so those are some of my favorite. >> I'm Layla and I'm Amelia's friend and I think she deserves student of the month because she like listens in class and when we do have free time she's very fun and just good to hang around with. She's a good friend because she's nice and kind and like when like we're at lunch she definitely makes me laugh and very funny. >> Hi, I'm Tanya Fitzgerald. I [music] am fifth grade math teacher here at Baldwin Betty Courtway Middle School. I have Amelia in class this year and she deserves to be the district student [music] of the month because she's amazing. She makes our classroom better. She makes our school better. Uh she's very genuine. She helps everybody. Um, she's very patient with people.
003And she loves to learn. >> My name is Andrea McWilliams and I teach fifth grade reading and writing at Courtway Middle School. Um, Amelia is in my reading class and she and I also go to the same church together. So that was fun to find out. But she is just an amazing kid. >> [music] >> Always has a smile on her face. Always positive. Always willing to help others. Always participates in class [music] and just sees the good in everything that we do and turns everything into a positive if it's a negative. And she is a true joy. I She works hard. She's a great friend. [music] And she is definitely a model student.
