Hello Roosevelt family. I'm Dr. Danny Portillio, superintendent of the Roosevelt School District here in beautiful South Phoenix. And I'm Dr. Ashley Hajj, president of the Roosevelt Governing Board. Thank you for joining us for a recap of our November 4th governing board meeting. We want to begin by extending our deepest gratitude to the Roosevelt community and our voters for supporting our override. Preliminary results indicate the majority of voters casted a vote of yes. Your support demonstrates a shared belief in the power of education and in investing in our children's future. This override will help us provide increased compensation for our teachers, signature program at each of our schools, and additional supports for our special education students and staff. It is also part of our strategy to retain and attract highly qualified educators. Thank you for your

trust, your partnership, and your commitment to ensuring that every child receives an exceptional and well-rounded educational experience. We did not review academic goals to allow the district additional time to take a deeper look at the strategies and inputs. Our intent was to ensure that when we revisit goals two and four and our other goals, we are confident that the strategies in place are well aligned to improving student outcomes for students. We did however review progress aligned to superintendent guardrail number three which is the superintendent must ensure district budget decisions prioritize student outcomes focused goals and directly support the academic and developmental success of all students. In support of this guar rail, we shared a comprehensive update on the district's investments and spending alignment. Roosevelt continues to make strategic financial decisions that prioritizes student learning and

operational excellence. Today, we serve approximately 7,000 students across 13 schools, supported by more than 700 studentf facing staff with an investment of $52.2 million, averaging $4 million per school, and $7,500 per student when it comes to money spent on instructional related efforts. Major investments support in teaching and learning, special education, transportation, child nutrition, and our success academy. Ensuring that resources directly benefit students and classrooms. We are also focusing on instructional spending that strengthens classroom learning through professional development, instructional materials, and digital and print resources for students. As we review per student cause, we're continuing to evaluate opportunities for greater resource alignment so every school remains staffed and supported based on the needs of the students. These intentional financial strategies reinforce our commitment to both fiscal responsibility and student success, fulfilling the spirit of guardrail number

three. We also provided an exciting update on the Bush Future Ready Academy. Work is underway to design an innovative learning model, including core learning experiences, academic programming, and unique staffing models. We are actively listening to our families, staff, students, and community through engagement efforts, surveys, and other listening tours. Their voice is shaping the school's theme, vision, and overall brand. Renovation, design, budgeting, and funding opportunities such as project lead the way and the new school's innovative schools grant are also moving forward to support this project through launch and beyond. Another major item discussed was the performance-based compensation plan for the 2025 2026 school year, which continues to strengthen our culture of performance. The plan now includes eligibility for our related service providers and increases the maximum payout to $4,000, honoring the impact of our teachers. A

key shift is the waiting of the growth now accounts for more than 60% of the performance calculation. Ensuring our educators are recognized for student improvement, not just for proficiency. Educators will also receive 20 hours of paid professional development tailored to job specific growth and alignment to the site goals, providing increased flexibility and relevance to the work that they're learning about. And most importantly, the plan reflects collaborative process, committee feedback, teacher voting, and board approval to ensure alignment with the student outcome goals. >> Thank you for taking the time to learn about the important work happening throughout our district. We appreciate your partnership as we continue to prioritize student success and a strong culture of performance. Thank you, Roosevelt family. Together, we are the genesis of change.
