Calling this meeting to order. Today is uh Tuesday, January 9th. It is at 6:30 p.m. for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Roll call. >> Juan Castillo, president. >> Present. >> Lorena Delgado, clerk. Christina Clark member >> present. >> Glattis Anaya member >> present. >> We have a quer. >> Thank you Mary. Moving on to uh 2.1. Do we have any comments from the audience? >> We do not. >> No comments from the audience. Uh moving on to a 3.1 report from Mr. Good afternoon or good evening everyone. It's really nice to see you. Um it was really it's going to be short because we

closed off the school year and that was really nice. Um, thank you for everyone who uh made it to all of to all if not all most of the promotions. They were beautiful. Thank you to all the principles who made that magical moment happen for our students. Um, so we closed off the school year last week. We had a full week with our principles with our data summit. It was a great week of reflection looking at our data and really starting to analyze what trends and what uh focus we will be having for next school year. So that was a great week. Um it was a lot because we were able to see trends not only from the district level but then we trickle down to looking at trends for the schools and specifically also

identifying the students that will be supported. Um so just to let you know you know this this month we have um our administrators rightfully so taking time off and so um you may not see all of the principles here or directors and great glad because you deserve this time off. So know that that's the trend for June. It's a little slower. And um myself, I will also be taking some time off. I will be in Washington DC this coming weekend for um a conference, the Milkin Educator um award conference forum, and I'll be there supporting and um welcoming the new recipients into uh the Milk and Educator Award um cohorts um and also obviously representing Summerton. Um, and then I will be taking off a week, uh, the last week of June to be in

Mexico City. So, we do that trip pretty often every year during around that time. And so, I do need to disconnect as I wish everyone in the audience the same. Any questions? >> Questions or comments? >> Thank you, Mr. You're welcome. >> Moving on to a 3.2 two report from Miss >> Good evening everyone. Same not very long. I just want to thank everyone for an amazing year ending the year very well and we're gearing up for the new year and now like Mr. Don said it's time to rest a little bit. And so I know we're all going to probably that last week of June and 1st of July have some quiet time. But I I guarantee you we have a team ready for the next year. So everyone's ready to go. So we

just need a little rest. Yes. Thank you, Miss A. Questions or comments? No, we're going to move on to a 4.1 board member reports and board attendance. Uh, Miss Annaya, >> hello. Good evening, everybody. Thank you for being here. I know it's probably hard because you guys are finally, I think, officially on break. Um, I want to thank you for last week. I know it was a busy, busy week. Um, we had >> they had extended an invite for us to come, but I was not able to go. Um, but I heard a lot of good things about your guys' week. Um, I was able to attend the ELC and SMS promotion. Jessica did a really good job. Miss, um, Escalante did a really good job with the promotion. I love seeing Mr. Raspon there,

like welcoming the kids regardless of if they're going to go to the middle school or not. Like, just the fact that he was there was was pretty cool. And then, oh man, your little student, the little the Masikito, he was hilarious. I want to see him like in high school when he's in student council. Like he's going to be a total leader. Like charisma like he's like doesn't care. He's just like there. And >> yeah, >> cute. >> The SMS promotion. It was really neat to be there. I had two a niece and a nephew that were promoted. And also there I like to see the principles from other elementary schools go to see their their kids get promoted and it was a beautiful evening. Um so yeah, hopefully as Mr. Lon said, "Disconnect. The

world will keep revolving without you. I promise. Disconnect for a solid even if you try a week or two. Like just don't look at your phone. Just recharge your batteries. It's going to be a good year next year. >> Thank you, Miss Anna. Miss Hart, >> good evening everyone. Um, same sentiment. I just feel like I just seen you guys literally last week or two weeks ago because I probably did. Um, I went to every single sixth grade promotion. I was like, "Oh my gosh, I was able to do it." And I was allowed to from work. So, thank you. Um, everything, every single ceremony we attended was fantastically set up. You could tell the, you know, the parents and the students were super excited. Um, all the preparation that goes into it, you know,

telling the kids how to shake your hand, you know, how to behave and all that. It doesn't go unnoticed. So, thank you all for such a a wonderful experience and and um inviting us to be part of it. Uh what else? Um summer people like what do you guys do in the summer? You do a lot. You prepare for the next year, right? So, you know, yes, decompress if you can and um just hit the ground running when it's right when it's time to come. Um I'm still working too. I don't think I'm have I don't think I'm taking a break, but I know some of you aren't either, you know. So, um, just take your weekends or whatever you whatever time you can, just take it and enjoy it and we'll see you guys

pretty soon for the new year. >> Thank you, Miss Clark. Miss Delgado. >> Well, I do want to officially put on the record that my hater mode is on. Um, I haven't been able to get over it's been nine years, I guess, since I've been away from that luxury. Um, but it's not really a luxury because I know when you guys are off, you still work and admit it cuz I did when I was a teacher anyway. So, but thank you so much for everything you did. Can't wait for all the scores to come in. I know you guys were in your uh summits and and trying to look at the unofficial results or what what you guys have and and I feel very confident and positive that everything's going to work out great. You

guys had a great year. Another year is coming. is think positive and and I'm so sorry. This year has been very difficult for me work-wise and you know this is the first time in I think 13 years that I didn't go to some of the promotions and the especially the SMS. I it just killed me and I was in Tucson and just on my phone watching >> um but um thank you for all that you do. Again, as I mentioned last time, I want to thank SMS uh admin for uh the last minute, which I was told it was last minute for the academic and sports acknowledgement forum, city council. And so, um thank you for running around and and doing it on Sunday night and and I apologize for that. Um I don't know

what happened, but whatever happened happened >> and so we're done with that. So hopefully next year we will have a better control of that and it won't happen again. But thank you for those that were there. Um and what you tried really quick to to get a hold of and send um it was a great event that we had with the city and so um it was great to see all those students be acknowledged which many were left out I know and so we did what we could. So thank you so much for that great effort. Um, I guess too, you know, re red disconnect. Um, and you probably don't even know what that means, but >> um, you know, ju just try to to relax a day here and there. Your life's coming too

quick, too quick. And so, um, get ready. Let's be ready. Welcome your new staff. I can't wait to meet them. Um, I did put on there that I will be attending that new teacher since it's early in the morning and so I'm able to attend for that. So remind us, Mary, if you don't mind. >> Um, other than that, that's all I have. Thank you for coming tonight. >> Thank you, Miss Leo. And, uh, you know, for me, uh, you know, I did attend, uh, Sun Valley School, um, sixth grade promotion and and ELC. Um, I was planning on attending TDS in Orange Grove, but, uh, I had to attend my son's, uh, baseball banquetss. They actually had both of them. So, I know we always kind of, you know, tell you guys, hey, um,

you know, family comes first. Do that. So, you know, I I uh I I I I led by example that. So, that's why I kind of miss those. Um, you know, um, SMS promotion was was was great. I mean, I really love the the setup there in at Council Park. I think it it it it's great. >> Um, for the new teachers orientation, it's July 10th, right? If I'm not mistaken, >> the 9th July 9th, I will be out of town, so I won't be able to attend. Um, I might come back on on the 10th, but in the evening. >> So, um, but Mr. G, you'll be able to be there, right? And, uh, for everyone else, I mean, I hope you enjoy your summer like everyone said, disconnect, uh, recharge and, um, be

ready for for, um, for the next school year. I think if I'm not mistaken I think I you guys already had your data your data right so >> yes last week >> so last week >> the retreat >> so um you know and and first day is July 31st I believe >> 27th so so good luck I mean you you need that you need to disconnect >> and um and be to be ready be ready for yourselves >> and action that I mean that's all I have >> sir so we're going to move on to uh consent agenda agenda. Does anyone um have a question or wish to pull something from consent agenda? If not, I need a motion. >> So move. >> Motion was made by Miss Clark. >> Second by Miss Anaya. All

those in favor say I. >> I. Anyone opposed? Motion carries. Moving on to action items 6.1, approval of proposed FY26-27 budget. >> Hi, good evening everyone. Um this is our proposed budget for the new fiscal year. So this is what the proposed numbers are going to be. Um we are getting a 2% um increase to our base support level. So that's going to put us at $5,2153 per student. Our district additional assistance remains the same, $54945 per um ADM. and we don't know if we have any onetime funding yet. We haven't seen that. So, um we'll we'll further look at that when the numbers come in. Um some of the budget updates. So, the governor has not approved the proposed budget as of yet. It was vetoed. Um but the auditor general did allow us

to capture the 2% that we're getting. Normally, they don't allow it, but they were kind and let us do it on our new forms this year. So, we were able to capture the um the 2% increase and then again we have no proposed increase for the for the DAA. So, when we adopt based on those numbers, we're adopting on the current year ADM. So, these ADM numbers are based on the most recent report from AD and that's what we're looking at. So based on those numbers, our M allocation um we're looking at 23.8 million. Currently, we're estimating that our carryover is going to be 1.3. No. Yeah, thank you. Um again, that's going to change because we still have the incumbrance period. So all through the ends of August, we're um paying finishing paying things,

closing off our POS, which we'll release incumbrances. So this again is just an estimate. So when we go and do our revision into next year, we'll have an actual number um that we're going to close the year with. So given that estimate, it brings our budget limit to the 252. Any questions so far on M? >> You know what? I just have a question. Um, are we carrying over the recommended amount? I think it's the what is it? 4%. >> The recommended is 4% and last year we carried over about 6%. And so, yes, we are. I believe the 4% is right under a million, somewhere in the 900,000 range. So, we are still above that. >> Okay. Thanks. And then moving into capital. So our our GAA the allocation is um about 1.5. Our

estimated carryover plus our interest is going to be estimated at 1.9. And again that might fluctuate depending on how we close the year out. And so that brings us to a budget limit of the 3.4. for. And then the next slide is just a reminder of our district tax rates. So our primary assessed valuation came in at the 139 million this year um increased from last year and our tax rate, our primary tax rate went down a little bit and that's because our adjacent ways levy fell off. So um it went from the $1.71 to the 1.57. And then this is just a breakdown of how our taxes are calculated. Um so you have your equalization and then your transportation revenue control limit which is just part of the equation. Um and so that adds

on like a 5 cent um proportion to it. And so the total is the 1.57. >> Any questions? >> Questions or comments? No. >> Need a motion. >> Motion was made by Miss Gado. >> Second by Miss Annaya. All those in favor say I. >> I. Anyone opposed? >> Motion carries. >> Thank you. >> Moving on to a 6.2 two discussion and possible action to approve the revised 213 work calendar for FY27. >> So after further review and assessment of the ESS department needs, we're recommending the revision of this work calendar so that the ESS secretaries can be starting at a different start date and end at a different end date than the other 213 calendar to better align to for the end of the year deadlines they have. Any questions or comments? >> Need

a motion? >> So move. >> Motion was made by Miss Clark. >> Second by Miss Annayia. All those in favor say I. >> I. Anyone opposed? Motion carries. We're going to go to the announcements because then we 6.3 is an executive session. That's correct. So, we're going to go to announcement 7.1. Any recommendations from the board for future agenda items? No. And uh our regular board meeting is scheduled for uh Tuesday, June 23rd, um 2026 at 5:30 p.m. to approve the proposed budget. >> Right. >> Yes. >> Um and uh so need a motion to go into executive session. So move. >> Motion was made by Miss Annaya. >> Second by Miss Clark. All those in favor say I. >> I. I.................... Anyone opposed? >> Motion carries. 647
