Um these students were chosen by their teachers because of simply how awesome they are. Okay? and and not just in the month of May, but throughout throughout the course of the school year. So students, when I call your name, I'm going to read something that your teacher wrote about you, and you have to awkwardly stand up here next to me the entire time, and then stay up here until I'm done reading everybody from your school, and then we'll take a picture together in front of that big green screen. Again, thank you everyone for coming. This is the part where everyone usually gets up and leaves. Feel free to stay, but you definitely don't have to. Have a wonderful summer. R. You got it. Sorry about that. All right. At this um moment, we will open the meeting to the public for the discussion agenda items
009only. Can I have a motion and a second for that motion? Second. All those in favor. Opposer say hi Dina. Hi. Public public of one. It's not really public. Um all right. Seeing no one and hearing no one. Can I have a motion to second then to close the public portion of the meeting? Motion. Second. All those in favor oppos or abstain. All right, Mr. Lee, you're up. All right, first two items uh per the us here are safety and security uh drills from from JFK and DDE. Uh we also have all the monthly item C is all the monthly reports uploaded to the portal for your review. Item D is we had uh one report of bullying at JFK which was unconfirmed um and two reports at DDE both not confirmed. Uh item E
010number one is to approve the case that we heard that the board heard last month. Uh item F is two two more policies for a first reading. The first one is is for the use of artificial intelligence. Um, this is something we sorely needed obviously because AI has become so huge in our everyday lives. Um, and so essentially what we're doing is using this policy which was a model policy from school boards and then creating an AI plan that's specific to our district. So we should have that up and running by the time we get to September. The second um policy on there is conduct discipline. What you'll see when you look on that one in the um uh in the portal is that it is not finished certainly um but but the majority of
011what it is going to be is there. I um we have a committee the principles put a committee together. They were board members uh on that committee uh as well as other parents and teaching staff members and it is much more comprehensive than the one that that been in place here uh for years. So I reviewed it. I'm happy with it but I also made some adjustments. Um, and then we should, our hope is to have that all said and done for August so that we can have final approval and have it ready to go for when the school year starts in September. If you read that and have any questions about anything, just, you know, shoot me an email, phone call, whatever. Be happy to talk to you about it. All right. Um, number
012two is a fundraiser for the preschool teachers. Number three is to approve some more parent volunteers. Under personnel, we have uh item number one there is five new hires. Uh item number two is two resignations. Item number three, we have a number of student teachers for next school year that are coming here. We love that. We welcome them with open arms. Number four is to approve the evaluation instruments that we're going to be using for the school year. So we have the McCrell evaluation tool for teachers and the NJ people evaluation instrument for administrators. There's no change there. We just have to approve them every year. Uh number five is to approve the update of the remoteverirtual learning plan. The state still makes us do a remoteverirtual learning plan every year and update it. So
013it's there for your approval. Uh number six is some staff removal, not removals, renewals. Um and with some adjustments from the April agenda. Number seven uh is our uh ES in addition to our ESY staff, just another E. Uh number eight are some stipen positions for the middle school that we're approving for next year. Uh section H item one, we um did a lot of work. Um Miss Botley did a lot of work um putting together um some different rubrics um that don't for for staff members that aren't teachers and aren't administrators. Um so the evaluation tools were pretty old, pretty dated. um a lot of them didn't speak to what it was that those other people in those positions do. Um and so Miss Botley as a committee, they got together and put together
014the criteria for how they believe they should be evaluated. Uh item number two is to accept a grant. This is a grant from the state of New Jersey. Not a huge grant, uh but a grant that will pay for an early childhood um screener. So it's for kindergarten through 2 grade. Um again, Miss Botley is the one that put that grant together. And we did we were awarded the grant. So that's why it's on the agenda. You approved the submission a month or so ago. Now we need to approve the acceptance of the award and those funds. So tomorrow I'll go on and say we're accepting. So we're good to go. Any questions on um superintendent report and curriculum instructions? All right. Can I have a motion and a second to approve superintendent items XA
015through XH? Second. And we have no questions. U Mr. Golden, yes. Mr. Davis, yes. Mrs. Allen, yes. Mr. Phillips, yes. Mrs. Row, yes. Mrs. Reed, yes. Mrs. Helma, yes. Mrs. Oriente, yes. All right. Mine is a lot, but we're going to fly right through here as usual. It's just our annual renewal stuff that we have to do. Um, so I'm just going to jump right in and then I'll ask if anyone has any questions as we move um forward. Um items A through D is to approve the financial report for May 2025. Uh no line item has been overexpended. The treasures report and the secretar's reports are in agreement for the month of May. Um there are no changes in anticipated revenue amounts or sources. Um A is to approve payment of the bills which
016I think everybody has reviewed. Yes, signed at least one signature too hopefully. Um at batch number 61 is to approve that. F is to approve the May 2025 listing for a source for teachers and the rates are listed um below. G is to approve the cafeteria dispersements for the month of May 2025 in the amount of $54,51245. 018for 4,800 for the 2526 school year. Q is to authorize the business administrator to properly handle business affairs including payment of invoices that the board has contracted with or what are public utilities and to have these payments approved at our next action meeting. R is to approve the Omnley Group as a third party administrator for the 403b um tax sheltered annuity plan. T is to approve the TC to approve TC Irons, Hannes, and Hannes as our district's risk management broker of record for the 2526 school year. U is to approve Brown and Brown Benefit Advisors as the district's health insurance broker for the 2526 school year. B is to approve Virtual Medical Group under the terms
019of the professional contract to provide our medical services for the board of education um services listed below. W is to appoint Megan Stoddard and Charles Fluger as the district right to know coordinators. X is to appoint um Charles Fluger as the district asbestous compliance officer for 2526. Y is to appoint Megan Solder as the district public agency compliance officer for the 2526 school year. Z is to approve Megan Soldard and Charles Fluger as the district PIOA officers. Um double A is to approve Megan Solder, appoint Megan Solder as the district custodian of records. AB is to appoint um Charles Fluger as our district safety coordinator. AC is to appoint uh approved to appoint Kristen Braidwood as our district homeless liaison. A D is to appoint Megan Stoddard and Miss Ashley Surman as the district issuing
020officer of working papers. AE is to approve to appoint Charles Fluger as the district IPM coordinator. AI is to approve the agreement between Berlin Township School District and the interlocal purchasing system for the purpose of providing competitively bid cooperative purchasing opportunities. AJ is to approve to contract with NW Financial to provide continuing disclosure services. AK is to approve the school lunch
021and breakfast prices which are $3.60 60 for lunch and $160 for breakfast for the 2526 school year. That's only an increase of 10 cents. Um just to cover the the rise in prices of everything around us. A is to approve um Mrs. Marilyn Bright as the district affirmative action officer. A N is to approve Mr. Lee as our school safety specialist. A N is to approve Kar and Scotcher um under the terms of the professional contract to provide legal services for the district for 2526. AO is to approve Bowman and Company to provide auditing services for the board of education for the school year of 2526. A is to approve the 2526 Brookfield home Brookfield schools homebound service agreement. AQ is to provide a list of contracted outside consultants for the 2526 school year. Most
022of these all of these are actually used by the child study team on a um as needed basis. A R is to approve um out of district tuition contracts for the 2526 school year. Um we have a grade four four special education student at Durand. This was budgeted for a grade seven special education student also at Durand. also budgeted for a grade one special education student at Archway. Um, also budgeted for a grade 12 plus special education student at Hollyell School. Um, also budgeted for and that is it. Let me do a motion second and I'll ask if anybody has any questions. I think that was a record. Um, can I have a motion in a second? Motion. Second. Do you have any questions? Uh, so could you explain what this Stop it is? Sure.
023I would love to. Thanks for asking. Um, so stop it is a it's a it's a school safety um uh website. I would say program, but it's it's a website. Um, essentially under the new school safety law, you each school has to have a way for people to anonymously report um possible threats of violence um or self harm. And so I was I got an email like I get many emails and this uh company stop it who I had heard of before uh said that they um are working through a state grant to provide their service for the next I can't remember if it was two or three years uh where it would be free of charge to us. So I set up a meeting I met with them um and we in two weeks
024uh the me and the principles will meet with their team to implement stop it. And essentially what it's going to be is um there's an app that that uh kids that students can have or parents can have. Um and it's also linked it will also be linked to the website and they they report. Um, now there are guidelines like we we won't be able to get things at, you know, 11 o'clock on a Saturday night because they have a call center and so if something comes into them in an off hour that needs to be addressed immediately that may direct it to the appropriate authority or you know suicide hotline or whatever whatever the case may be. So, um, for me it was we we have to do it to, you know, justify the legal
025aspect of things, but also it's another kind of layer of protection for our students and their families. Thank you. Any other questions? All right. Mr. Golden, yes. Mrs. Allen, yes. Mr. Phillips, yes. Mrs. Row, yes. Mrs. Helma, yes. Mrs. Oriente, yes. Mrs. Reed, yes. Mr. Davis, yes. All right, perfect. Thank you. Let me scroll on through all my pages. Um, all right. Uh, old business. I don't think we have any old business. Um, new business. I don't believe we have anything under negotiations. Um, finance committee. We did skip the finance committee um, meeting. Thank you to the members as I had a lot of um, year-end closeout to wrap up um, ESY runs to develop. So, it was nice to not be able to have one more um, thing to prepare for this evening. Um,
026so school boards association, I don't think I've seen anything for that other than workshop will be in October. Um, I'll give you those dates. I'll send everybody an email, see if anybody's interested in attending that in Atlantic City. Um, Ed Services Commission. You didn't make June. You made June. I did. Um, no, nothing. It was the reordion meeting. Um, you're back on gathered it in. Okay, congratulations. You're back. Congratulations. So, they just spoke on that. It was an extremely long meeting. Um, usually June and February are which was fine. Um, and the reason that it was so long, there was nothing new they spoke about. A couple people switched committees. I you know in their committee and um then they had two teachers who wanted to meet with the board because they were let go
027from their job. They were not asked to come back. Um that lasted about 45 minutes for the first person and the second one I had to hop off because I was sitting in the parking lot of Karate. Oh wow. So I had to sign off but it was going over like 25 minutes for the second person. Okay. So, I kind of missed the rest of it, but nothing. Yeah, they just needed that presence for the call to log in and um things of that nature. So, thank you for fulfilling that um obligation in Michelle's absence. Um Pineh Hill graduation. Well, I had two meetings this month already. Um one on the 10th and one Tuesday. Um Tuesdays was pretty short. um we voted to accept the um new interim VA because our VA had resigned.
028Um so we have an interim VA right now. Um we also had um in our June 10th meeting, we had actually gone over the CSA evaluation just like um we'll do tonight for Mr. Lee. Um on they also had sports awards for all the kids that played sports all year um right before graduation. Then graduation was on the 18th. Did rain but it didn't rain hard. It sprinkled the entire time. Right, Mr. Lee? We got sprinkled the entire time. The entire time until we they walked out on the on the field and then it stopped raining. It's like really, you know, um the sound wasn't very good. So, I did bring that up at the board meeting on Tuesday because it was really a shame. They they ran through it really quickly because they wanted
029to get everyone's name called out on stage in case it poured. So, they started with that. Then, they let the three kids who um who earned the right to be up on stage speak, which was your class president, the validictorian, the saludiatoran, but you couldn't hear their speeches very well, which was really a shame because they worked so hard to get there. Um, what happened was somebody had hooked something up. Like it worked 10 minutes before and then somebody switched something and then it didn't work and you could hear it but it sounded like they were in a tunnel and you know people around you just really couldn't hear very well. So that was brought up. That will never happen again. We've heard um and they're also thinking about in f in additional years doing
030graduation at an earlier time so they have more time to play with. I actually suggested them do it in the morning on the la the day after the last day of school because then you have all day to play with because June is always one of those months that we have thunderstorms in the middle of the afternoon. Yeah. CCTS does theirs earlier and they move theirs to later just because of the excessive heat. So they you have a little Well, and another good thing is we are getting lights on the football field. So like even um I think it was Kingsway move theirs theirs was the same night as ours, but they moved theirs to 8 o'clock at night. So they had it in the dark. Well, the first hour was daylight, but um with
031500 kids, I'm sure it went longer than an hour. I think so. So, um but next year we would be able to have it with the lights on the football field. So, that'll be good. Um see, I think that pretty much sums up everything else is pretty normal. Thanks. Okay. Thank you. Um and I don't think there's anything for school uh Camden County school boards um at this moment either. So, um, at this moment then, does anyone else have anything for new business? Okay. Um, can I have a motion and a second then to open the meeting to the public for the discussion of agenda or non-aggenda items? Motion. Second. All those in favor? Opposed or abstain? Still seeing no one. Um, can I have a motion second then to close the public portion of
032the meeting? Motion. Second, Rebecca thought it came from over there. He tried today. Um, all those in favor, oppos or abstain. All right, we do have a um executive session. I'm going to ask Jacob to shut us down first and then we'll go ahead and enter into that. Thank you. You're welcome. Yes. Yeah. Um so let's do our let's do our motion and our second then we'll just hold off um just so we can so people can hear what we're doing. So can I have a motion a second to go into executive session? Um, we're going to discuss the superintendent evaluation, the resident a residency discussion, and a student conduct hearing. Motion second. All those in favor? Opposed or abstain? All right. As soon as Jacob Thank you. Just give me one reason and then
033your spouses. All right, we are live. So, we just had one um action it one motion item from our executive session which we're going to read now. I'll need a motion and a second to affirm the superintendent's recommendation of the disciplinary finding. Can I have a motion, a second? Motion. Second. Right. I'm going to do a roll call. Mr. Davis, yes. Mrs. Reed, yes. Mrs. Helma, yes. Mrs. Allen, yes. Mr. Phillips, yes. Mr. Golden, yes. Mrs. Row, yes. And Mrs. Oriente, yes. All right. Thank you. Any other business or I'm ready to adjourn. Do we have to accept the agreement? Yeah. Oh, accept the agreement as well. Um, agreement regarding Oh, don't we have I think we have that. We already did that. Yeah, we already did that. It was in I don't know if
034we have to do it again. We have to do it again on the settlement. All right. Um, can I have a motion and a second then to approve the settlement agreement as discussed in executive motion second [Music] my initials real fast. Okay. U Mr. Davis. Yes. Mrs. Reed. Yes. Mrs. Helmoff. Yes. Mrs. Allen. Yes. Mr. Phillips. Yes, Mr. Golden. Yes, Mrs. Row. Yes, Mrs. Oriente. Yes. All right. Perfect. Two. One. Anything else? All right. Motion a second then to adjourn the meeting. Can I have a motion? Second. Motion. Second. All those in favor? I opposed or abstain. All right. Thank you. Megan, I have a question. I put my thing for running again and the one I print says 10 signatures. It says a piece that's 25. Ma'am, the Oh, I have one. I have
035an update at one.
