We're going to have a guest speaker from a student music performance as well as a polar day and the history club will also be having a presentation on the town school at the celebration. There is a mandatory senior trip on February 24th at 6:30 p.m. for all the seniors attending. And student council is also hosting a battle for classes next week. We have dress up days, lunch games, and games which will be next Friday. Thank you very much. All right, the next item on our agenda is public forum for agenda. >> Okay, see no one wishing to speak on the Any agenda items? We will move on to agenda item I which is our consent agenda with 13 items. Ask for a motion discussion. Thank you, Miss. Any discussion on 1 through 13? Discussion. >>
Yes. >> Mr. >> Yes. >> Mr. >> Yes. Yes, >> thank you. We do not have any committee reports for this evening. So, we will move on to item K, the superintendent report. We have five items. Dr. Paul, is there any discuss before we open for discussion? >> Okay. So, um I will ask for a motion to open on K1 through five. and a second from man. Thank you. Discussion on K1 through >> one is a voting item. I would guess the rest. >> Yes. >> Thank you. Good evening everybody. Um over the past several weeks uh we have really prioritized opportunities to strengthen connection with the school uh with the district and the community. On February 11th I was able to hold my second of three superintendent meet and greets. Uh the last one
will be the 25th which is next week at middle school. Shameless plug 6:30. I hope everybody comes out. Um I I appreciate the conversations that I've been able to have. Uh it to provide me with valuable insight on the work that we need to do. Um, on Monday, February 16th, the district had a professional development day for staff. Throughout that day, I had the opportunity to visit each of the schools and observe staff level training and collaboration and action. Um, it reinforced for me the high level of commitment with the staff the entire day with the exception of what Miss Glenn was doing with respect to CBI training here. And you can see some of the stuff buildings focused on reflective activity around student performance, student attendance, um identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for growth, and
I really think it was a powerful day. So, I do want to thank the building level leaders, the teachers, and the district level leaders for their time uh and for their efforts that day. Uh our February CPA meeting will be held on February 26 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. uh here in the district library. There will be additional messaging going out tomorrow just to remind families that there is a uh Google form out there to collect information from our CP community to see what they would like presented at future meetings. We encourage you to uh fill that out. Uh and we look forward to seeing a strong presence again uh next week. Um we're pleased to officially welcome Mrs. the principal here at Child Regional High School on February 9th and she's been working diligently
to ensure a smooth transition uh and has already been engaging with students and staff and families to support the ongoing success of the school. As a reminder, planning for the 2627 school budget is actively underway. We now know that the governor's budget address will be on or about March 10th. 48 hours after that, state aid figures will be released uh which is required by statute. A Until that information is received, no final budget determinations can or will be made. Once state aid is confirmed, we will publicly present the tenative budget and we will schedule multiple budget workshops to ensure transparency and provide the community opportunities for input. Uh on a good note, I would like to thank the work of the business office and their collaboration with uh our financial adviserss and bond council because
on this uh agenda, you will notice that we have worked to finance and debt service which has resulted in a savings for the district of approximately $550,000 over the next seven years. So, thank you for that uh and work on that. I think it's important to highlight that for the board. Um and finally, we are nearing the completion of the district's first of many monthly community newsletters. Um the board has been able to see a draft of that. We hope to and plan on releasing that later this month. That is intended to provide consistent updates on district in initiatives, student programs, operational priorities, and other important information from the district and from the schools. We welcome feedback from the community once it is released as we work to ensure this communication tool becomes informative, accessible,
and responsive to stakeholder needs. That is my report for today. Thank you for your time. Seeing none, we will move on to agenda. Personnel 16. Thank you. Any discussion on seeing no discussion, please hold. >> Yes. Yes. >> Thank you. We're now on agenda item N business and finance with items 1 through nine. Motion open. >> Thank you, Miss Man. Thank you. discussion on I will reiterate the huge thank you to the district's administration for us very much. Thank you very much for that. >> See no discussion on Mr. Chance. abstain from number three and yes >> caught everybody off this but I understand I I understand they have lot of um we do not have any policy for review under agenda item. So we move on to P which is public comment open. >>
Okay. It's a quiet. That's okay. So, um there's no signup sheet for this, but seeing no public comments, I will move on to the second um public section, which is the suggestions for the 2026 2027 budget. Anybody's interested is open. Okay. Seeing no public comment on the budget, we move on to agenda item two, board comments. Just quickly what I wanted to say tonight what as a legislative delegate I this year one of my personal goals is to do better about being a good delegate and advocate for our district. Um so what I will be attempting to do is every month providing one of these update sheets with this sheet how I'm breaking it down is what's pending. Um and I'll keep my eye on uh all the bills that are pending. If I find
one that looks like there could be motion and looks like it would be advantageous for our district to kind of push the community to reach out to their their um representatives. I will do so. Um a lot of these are are there's no motion yet. There's no movement yet. So there there's no calls now. Uh the second section is laws that have passed. Um and now this is just since January 1st of 2026 federal legislation that's enacted and then what I would recommend is for followup. Um For example, there definitely needs to be some policy updates around the student internet enabled device law changes. Um, make sure we're in compliance with the Caesar seizure disorder care training. Uh, all of those, uh, review staffing implications for any mandates such as the minimum wage and public
notice adjustments. Um, and continue to monitor the state aid bills. Uh, and once a month try to bring just this summary sheet to you guys. And then if you have in depth questions, you're always welcome to reach out to me and I'll do my best to help you understand uh what the bill and law is about and what we should be doing and anything about them. >> Could maybe a little extra work. We all want all should know who our representatives are, but if that could be part of this >> because that doesn't change. >> It doesn't. And then if possible, if our representatives are sponsoring any of these bills >> and then If something is about to come up that you want us to work or push, how do we that organize your communication?
>> Yes. So for uh like for example we were working last time with the budget when there was some stuff we were pushing >> wasn't one of the like was she education budget something she was >> there there was something and then I know last year when we were doing when we were fighting with all the budget cuts and the losing what I did was I created a guide for anyone that wanted it of all of the representatives based on where you lived. I created a form letter as a parent, a form letter as a teacher, a form letter as a board member and made them available to anyone that wanted them. I was happy to share that. Um because the reality is if a lot of it's a lot harder if you have to
start from zero figuring out what to write if it's not something that you're regularly routinely active in, it's much easier to take something customize it a little bit to your words if you want and and know right where to send it. I include uh emails when available tax numbers when available mailing addresses because I bomb all three. Um but that's you know that's that's what you have to do sometimes. So I will definitely continue if there is one that I feel we should I will bring to the table templates for parents for for board members for teachers administrators um and contact information. It will not be hard to me for me to add um representatives and then for these that are pending add who the sponsors are. That's also not hard. >> Absolutely. >> There's
a section updates in the newslet about calendar next year. This MLK or President and I know that it's scheduled for next year as well. Is there any way we can make it like a Friday half teachers? >> Well, I'm glad you while I've been here for two months. I have been in four other places. accountants and I never a PD on that day and I would I live with a teacher who did not have to work on that who told me how cruel and unusual it was for me as the superintendent who did not make the calendar I may add and also did not make the calendar for next year I will add so I would be happy to take a look at next year's calendar and see if there are any proposed changes that
I may have. If the board is willing to entertain any proposed changes to the 2627, >> then we will take a look and see what we can relatively quick. So, our next meeting will be on March 4th. Um, unfortunately, it's not looking we will have any statements yet, but we are continuing to uh be prepared. So, thank you all for being here tonight. And I will ask for a motion to close the meeting. >> Favor. >> Okay, very close. Thank you.
