003negotiating and hoping to bring in our preferred candidate for but also come closer i don't fight i promise uh so superintendent search uh we've narrowed and are negotiating with our preferred candidates we're looking forward to bring uh them in district for a visit with key stakeholders over the next week or two um and then i just want to give some shout outs to a few of our sports teams uh so the boys basketball high school team uh currently playing their state group two uh final tonight uh so wishing them luck uh our middle school wrestlers have a state tournament upcoming this weekend and our high school wrestlers particularly alex martinez carlos angela and sean markey all having gone to states in atlantic city this past weekend so wishing them well thanking them for um uh
004continuing to support the community and obviously put our best foot forward uh in a very public way dan uh uh dr gallagher would you like to give your superintendent's report yes first off i'd like to um congratulate deanna scott who is one of our child study team members um she was uh selected the 2022 public sector representative of the year award from midland school so i want to give her i also want to give another kudos out to pax who uh wanting scholarship uh got recognized that a scholarship award the bill denney rutgers football letter winner club award on this past sunday so i just want to make mention of that the last two things are we have a vaccine clinic on wednesday by 3 30 to 5 30 in the high school cafeteria so
005anybody in the community is welcome obviously we have about 50 kids that we we anticipate going for vaccines at this time but it's still open to the public as well um and the last thing was we had our first mock-up meeting of the new website um which i thought went very very well we're in the um beginning stages obviously of redoing the website at this point in time we'll have some more information about the website coming out shortly and that's all i have great thank you dr gallagher we're moving on to section number three and we actually have some committee reports i believe education governance and hr are for this cycle since edith is not currently here mike would you mind providing the update for education sure a bunch of it's actually already been covered
006we talked uh this was last week so we talked about a couple of the donations that we already discussed at last two weeks ago at the meeting um we also learned that our k to eight buildings are going to be starting a new math curriculum next year they chose envision which is by pearson we took a quick look at our dashboard and how students are moving through the i guess we'll call the link levels um and we seem to be seeing some pretty good progress in most areas there in both math and language arts um as expected some of the levels were a little low at the beginning of the year with you know pandemic loss but we're seeing some really good movement now and also actually i think that's about it oh and our
007staff had some pd on um aligning our curriculum to standards which you know is an ongoing task so we had some pd in the district as well let me keep going i'm also governments or do you want to do well maybe just ask any of the members who are not present at the meeting if you have any questions about any of that topical material i would just say you know speak as you go otherwise mike you know you can keep going or do you want to since governance is kind of a summary maybe we do hr next sure good i think i'm okay with that all right so we're gonna skip three two and we're gonna go to three three yeah we'll loop back sure all right the human resources uh they we got the
008coveted updates that we had discussed uh and then the staffing issues that were caused by uh retirements resignations and pcr and then some busing issues were discussed as well okay and i'm back so for those out there who don't know governance is not only its own committee but kind of acts as a committee of the committee so to speak so we we kind of talked about a lot of what's just been said but in addition to that we also took a quick peek at our strategic plan um and saw how we're moving through it as the years you know have passed on that and also as dr gallagher just mentioned we talked quite a bit about the new website and how that development was going and everything else i think was already covered uh and

015on february 17th drawings were available february 22nd the pretty pre-bid meeting was march 1st last day for questions was today march 7th followed by a bid opening which will happen thursday march 17th followed by uh on march 21st we'll be hopefully awarding a contract as long as you know everything lines up the way it should so i think the important takeaway that i want everybody to understand is if we stick to this timeline then at our next regular business meeting we would be voting to award the contract so uh stay tuned for that and also you know if it's uh something you're feel strongly about or passionate about just try your best to be here and and very quickly all those funds are coming from all those funds are going to come from our extra
016three months just making sure yep awesome so it's all non-budgeted phones awesome [Music] the only other comment that i would add is i think it's actually kind of exciting to see that the baseball program is going to be using snap raise which is i guess 10 12. uh is that something that maybe trialling and potentially using for other programs or is it more one-off um in terms of fundraisers it again i'm not familiar with exactly which one that is um but usually programs um you know they we try not to inundate um you know the small town that we have with the same sundries over and over again so usually what happens is that uh you know certain certain programs run certain fundraisers throughout the year great any other comments or questions okay hearing none
