017it's been two years where's the positive Revenue committee which was supposed to be bipartisan participation this is very important this one and you got to act on it now where is the resolution for testing all electrical systems in all our schools by the high energy Company Inc who has been utilized in past projects can't mess around with that I gave you something back in March how bad the wiring was and I'm sure everybody blew it off all right where is the bipartisan facility committee where is the bipartisan curriculum committee where's the action plan for vocational academies and courses plus of vocational guidance counselor this one you got to take care of you don't have to put it out for big immediate concern is with the brick memorial High School Press Box and the light pole
018next to it no bids are needed for replacement of the items Nickerson which is on the co-op can do it from A to Z you have to use 10 inch i-beams for support independent of the bleacher I got it all down here all right implore an accelerating reading comprehension program from K to eight it's the key to every subject we got to get in high gear in that I'm all set to go this year I'll tell you all right what rooftop boilers are being replaced in all schools hopefully all of them I know you all look at me but I want to thank you while I'm going through this for your meeting with Tim I was very informative gave me hope all right why were the boilers with stainless steel heat exchangers selected costing two
019to three times more than the aluminum heat exchange exchangers which have the same performance and Longevity we could have saved a couple hundred thousand dollars all right what is the action plan does the board have for upgrading all School restrooms accessibility is a major factor and don't forget the esco's for water conservation will take care of some of it an in-house Talent all right when is the board going to require all architectural firms to employ bi-weekly verified inspections on the upcoming facility projects if they don't do it they don't want to verify it I already gave to Dr Farrell the Legacy inspection service proposal which would oversee the whole shenanigans you know that they get out of file someplace all right when will the board return the former ECC back into the administrative buildings sorely
020many students need more personalized structured assistance not classrooms occupied by one or two administrators a bipartisan committee is definitely needed to take care of what I just mentioned with the eec all right when the when will the board formulate an action plan for a district-wide maintenance plan for all projects that are currently installed or being installed in primary facilities did the board get written verification from the architectural engineers that if one boiler goes down the other at Lanes Mill and at Midstream will heat the school you got to get it in writing and if they refuse first cold day shut one down then you can go get them if they screwed up [Music] I got one more I'm sorry I'll be done the second or two I appreciate it I was doing this before and
021uh okay could I have something else for you on the 17th you'll like it all right have the electrical systems main branches in Midstream and Lake blackmail Lanes Mills Lanes Mill been certified as safe and very functional by the high energy testing company in other words you got one that's 57 years old and you got the other one at 63. I think a little testing should be done maybe it should be replaced all right did the board repair or replace the original Transformer at Brick Memorial High School I never take anything for granted it should have been replaced but you never know in the near future brick memorial roof sections and solar panels will need to be replaced do not remove the solar brackets just used an Aztec ceramic coating which will take care of

026742 Herbertsville Road I'd like to congratulate two new board members may God bless you and Lead You the problem that we're having is our son is a sophomore at Red Bank Catholic um unfortunately um he's been having a bullying issue and it caused him to break down and when he broke down he wasn't able to handle being at school so his therapist had decided that he needed to go to gen Psych so he's now you know there getting therapy the problem that we're having and it was rejected several times is that we have been asking for the academics to be paid for um from the Burke Township Board of Education you do pay us eleven hundred dollars a year for Aiden Lou for gas we have been residents of bricktown's ship since 1990. our taxes
027went up another sixty dollars approximately two weeks ago and now my son is suffering immensely because the way the program is set up you have to um yeah so the the program has to talk to Red Bank Catholic and they have to coordinate his his work but because you guys aren't going to pay for the person that is running the program at gen Psych they will talk to the people you know at the school so now my son is over 70 assignments behind in math and even though the program is helping him he's actually failing academically in school and now we don't know if Red Bank Catholic is going to take him back um again you guys do pay us eleven hundred dollars for you know gas allowance why won't you pay for this we
028need help we pay taxes I mean I'm I was an employee for Brick Township 33 years I mean I pay for all of the other doctors out of my pocket I pay for all the doctors out of my pocket with the schooling the loans over two thousand dollars and then they want me to pay another two thousand dollars that you guys won't pay for his education and I it just is absurd it's absurd I mean so he's getting into treatment but he's not getting the academics because because they won't because you guys won't pay for for it and they charge fifty dollars an hour it's two hours per day five days a week it comes out to two thousand dollars a month we need help I mean right now I have I have two children
029that are in private school now that's costing me over two thousand dollars just for it just for the what do you call it their education our four older children actually went through and graduated from the brook schools from kindergarten all the way up into um until they graduated high school but sadly because of the Diabolical things that that's being pushed onto our children that we disagree with were forced we're forced to put our children into private school that we don't we don't we don't really have the the means to do so so we sacrifice in order to do that because we don't agree what's being pushed on to our children thank you at a public meeting obviously you're entitled at the public comment portion to share whatever you wish uh even about your your son's
030situation uh the board won't discuss a personal situation or a private situation but publicly I and I totally understand that and I did speak to the superintendent's secretary not once but twice I got no phone call from the superintendent that's okay okay him and anybody else on the board to understand that but let me let me okay there will be a conversation about we want to we want to help you out because you're misinformed so I want to help you okay it's actually a rare instance um I have our director of special services over there Jennifer grunger when you contacted my secretary right before break I was with the county superintendent actually something that never came up before in in this kind of a in this order through a private school and not the residence
031school so I talked to the county superintendent I talked to a couple of different board attorneys I talked to our director of special services I called you back on Tuesday Tuesday before break so I think it was the 20th left you a voicemail I never got it but thank you left you a voicemail because I still have it in my uh in my office now we would be glad to reach out to Red Bank Catholic so the way the law works it's very clear 192 193 which is what's called pass-through funds so we do provide funding so if someone's at St Dominics even if they lived in Point Pleasant St Dominics is a resident School of Brick Township we have passed through funds for Extraordinary Educational Services for students that may be evaluated through Saint
032Dominics and be forced to go into an a supplemental programming of some sort and those monies get from public education gets forced through through Saint Dominic's from us Red Bank Catholic if they were the recommendation and the evaluation to have the change of programming for your child their funds 192 193 would be paid for through Red Bank Regional High School of which where it are located so what I want you to do and I did call you I want you to if you don't mind Jen if I could get your number and name for this woman I want you to contact Mrs Granger Mrs Granger I also know the the principal and the the director of redback Catholic very well and I can reach out there is a mechanism for you we cannot because he's
033not on our rolls at all uh the child in any way so then the funds will come from this we can we can help you and I called you again two weeks ago Tuesday to let you know that I could easily point you in the right direction it may not be it's a percentage it's what semi and Medicare and medical insurance it's only instructional not MediCal and it will all be covered um for you because he's been in the program for four weeks already and he's falling so far behind now there's a lot of other stipulations and I don't we don't need them near whether it was a unilateral placement or not and but um if Jen if you if you don't mind if I can get up come over and bring your name into

041our children of this country learned to learn failed them on a grand scale there were way too many excuses for failure upon failure as to why schools remained close Mass mandates came up and when vaccinations were required then they weren't and everything else that trickled down to affect parents families and more importantly the education and safety of our school children I am a woman of action I do not like excuses and I refuse to accept excuses especially when it comes to the needs of our children when I discussed the decision to run for the Board of Education with my family I admit that it was the hope of helping cultivate some positive changes with regards to our special needs Department in our school system especially after having a child of special needs in our school
042system before I believe that there were some areas that could have been improved some of the people are here today that had problems in our school system with just that parents have reached out to me distressed that they were ignored and mistreated at IEP meetings with regards to services for their children this was unacceptable behavior for any parent or school system to experience our job is to help to assist to nurture be selfless and to care and to be understanding to make a positive difference now that I've been elected to the sustained board and have gained additional Insight listening to friends Educators parents and students I embrace the challenges that are set before me and I have seen firsthand in just a few weeks since my election with the newly elected person the positive changes
043this board has already started making as long as I serve on this board every parent will be heard every request will be got gotten the most utmost attention and solutions will be adopted in the best interest of all children political parties aside this is the time for everyone serving on the Brick Township Board of Education to come together with common goal of making our school system the best for every child in our district we can do great things together if we put personal agendas and politics politics beliefs aside let us meet on a common ground closing the Divide gaps we must be passionate with regards to our duty to our Educators our staff our students and our parents focusing solely on the support needs and education principles that have served us so well for so

047um Ad nauseam for the last few weeks oh my God reorg meeting that means we need to find people for President and Vice President it was um not as easy as one would think because we are so fortunate and we do have such an incredible board so um yeah I'm glad they only do that once um I look forward to continuing the excellent work of the board for the next year I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas I look forward to a super great year and we will see you January 17th thank you thank you Allie Victoria to our outgoing board members I want to say you have made a great impact on this board on the children of brick and on me and I appreciate you sitting next to me I appreciate your
048phone calls I appreciate your walks on the beach I appreciate all the things you did to support me and Stephanie and the rest of the board members for these past six years I want to say thank you very much to Ms walrab for accepting leadership of this board through 2023 thank you I know it's not easy I want to say thank you to Nicole Siebert I want to say thank you to our new board members who are dedicated to put the school of the the school children of brick first as the board always does I look forward to following through the leadership of our chief administrative office officer Dr Farrell through the rest of the year and I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to continue to learn be trained and share my wisdom
049because I'm the oldest wisdom with the brick school children thank you and have a wonderful winter let's hope that too many of our meetings don't get snowed out thanks Victoria thank you Mr blandina well I want to first of all uh congratulate you on your Reign nomination as president Nicole is vice president and uh I want to congratulate the new board members and and especially my long long friend here we used to work together many of this is a history lesson now about Brick Township for those of you live here less than 20 years when we didn't have a hospital there was this thing called the hospital Association and Madeline's mother was one of those people on that board and she worked Us in those boots I never forget that you had wisdom teeth and
050another old friend of ours who was a former board member sent me home because he could see I was feeling the pain for more for wisdom teeth Barbara blinsky rest his soul up there but he was another great person but those are the kind of people that made Brick Township Great Dan along with uh Alan Cohen Danny Newman uh Gene Newman and and those people so Madeline and I go back that far with the Brick hospital Associates how many other people know about the Oktoberfest that was another thing we had fun back then but in any case congratulations to the new board members I got to say with the leadership here under Dr Farrell and the cabinet that's Underneath Him the directors and all have a supreme being here for the children of Brick Township
051everybody's goal is to put Brick Township first and make sure the students are taken care of and and that's what goes on here each and every day through them and our monthly and as we take other comments from the public uh the school board we pass them along but in any case hopefully it's a great year for all the Brick Township the people of Brick Township the taxpayers uh the people have a vested interest in here and especially their students at Brick Township I want to thank you all for coming out this evening hopefully we can continue the great service and hopefully we can have these meetings every month like Victoria just said it without snow so hopefully that's the way it goes and we'll now have another great half of the school year thank
