001Hello. All right. Dr. Le, where are you? Okay, here we go. We have an M for the as well. And so OK. You have a mic. M. Ok. Great. And transl. Let me let me make sure I get this right. Greetings parents. All right. Uh my name is Mr. Padre. I am Dr. Toac and I am the director of innovative programs. And we want to welcome you to our second Father's University meeting of this 2025-2026 school year. First, we'll have our introduction. After the presentation, you will be able to go out to the right; there will be a table where you can eat the appetizers, and he hopes that tonight you will enjoy the presentation. will have a question. Okay. Uh so we so we're going to bring out some pencils if you want to
002write a question down. Also we will see our social media coordinator and that's a few questions afterwards. We're happy you took the time to be here tonight. We truly appreciate it. It means a lot to us and also to your children. After we eat our snack, he says, "Please don't leave the school. Come back to the auditorium if you have any questions. We'll be happy to answer them. Erica from the teacher and educational organization. A round of applause for the presenter. That's right, ladies and gentlemen. I'm the doctor. It's a pleasure to be here. Our community involvement specialist from the high school, Miss Amanda Deus, and also Miss Alicia Perez. We also have our community provincial involvement specialist from Court of Montane, Mrs. Sherie Silva, and our CPIS from West Avenue, Mrs. Jessica Vega. Did
003I miss anybody? Did I miss anybody? I think I got everybody. A round of applause for the doctor, and if you have any questions, please raise your hands. We'll be happy to answer them. They're going to pass around a pen and paper so you can write down any questions you have for the doctor. So, good evening. Good evening. I'm trying to learn Spanish now, but my Spanish is very bad. Give the lady a round of applause for trying. It's very bad. I'm sure it is. The honor is ours. I'm happy to speak Spanish. Thank you. Tonight we're going to talk about how your children's presence in school is very important so they can succeed in school. She says this is just a small introduction to the group where she works, which is to teach parents
004and students how to succeed in education. She works with teachers, students, and schools so children can be more successful in their schools. I'm going to have you think about a few things. But one of the areas that we talk about tonight is really the importance of attendance. I know that are some things that might... Okay. She says that tonight we are here to encourage children to participate in school, and she wants you to know the importance of children coming to school every day. Today you can see the challenges, identify the challenges of how we can improve getting children to come to school every day. I was when my kids She's very good at having strategies around getting some things done. She says that tonight she's going to do her best to teach you effective strategies
005on how you can make sure your children want to and can come to school. She wishes she had known these strategies when she was young with her own children because she didn't. She says that today she wants us to start strengthening the relationships with the school and with the family, and that she doesn't know if you know that the school has very important and very good resources for you to make this happen. She wants to ask you to reflect. When we're talking about children's school attendance, what feeling comes to mind? How do you feel? You can raise your hand and I'll gladly translate for her in English. Are you motivated? Does it bring up some anxiety for you? I had a student whose mother really didn't like to talk about attendance because it was a
006struggle for her. And so when we got into conversations about how to get in school, she was always very anxious, mostly because she didn't know what to do. She says it's normal for you to feel anxious because when she was talking to other parents, that mom avoided the conversation because she, for sure, didn't know how to respond. But she says that all those feelings you have when we 're talking about kids going to school are normal, but it's very important that you also talk and express your feelings. School attendance, we know, is majorly important. So here are the things that it affects. It affects academic learning, right? If kids aren't here, it's hard for them to learn. If they're not here, it's hard for them to learn. It also affects their confidence because if I
007miss too much school, I'm not sure about what's happening in class. And it also affects their sense of belonging. Talk about that in a minute and show you how. [laughs] She says she knows all the side effects it has when kids don't come to school. One of them, uh, she has it at the top of the list , is the academic problem. If kids don't come to school, they can't learn. Oh, the second is that Children lose self-confidence, and besides that, they feel like they're not part of the group. For example, if something happens at school and a child is n't there, that child will most likely feel like they're not part of the group. We also know that attendance affects relationships with peers and teachers, right? So we know that the more kids are
008in school, the better their relationships tend to be with their peers and teachers. And finally, we also know that attendance affects long-term success, like graduation and the opportunities kids have once they finish, or some of the things they can do as a result of being in school. She also knows that attending school affects relationships with friends and teachers, but an important point she made is long-term success in school. So, if children don't come to school, unfortunately, we know they're going to have problems when graduation time comes . So these are some other areas. I already mentioned confidence, and we know that graduation is long-term, but we also know that there's a correlation, a connection, between how well kids read and How much they come to school. She says she already mentioned what happens with the
009children in relation to graduation and the child's self-sufficiency . But one of the most important points we have to keep in mind is that when children don't come to school, unfortunately, their proficiency in reading and math is quite low. [laughs] She says it can be bad, very little, or nonexistent, because if they're not in school, they can't learn to read and they can't learn math. And have something. She says they gave her the little card you have, the white card, in case you have any questions about what we just said or if you want to ask something we haven't said, but that's important to you, so when we get back after snack time, you can give it to her and she'll do her best to answer them. Actually impact learning. So the answer is really
01018 days in a school year. 18 days in a school year. She says on average if kids miss days that learning. Wow. Okay. So, how does this impact your children's education? She says, excuse me, that in a school year the maximum a child can be absent is 18 days, two days per month. This affects more than many people realize. Amen. One day a child is absent, they miss a full day of instruction. Imagine if they miss more than 18 days per month. It doesn't seem like a lot. It doesn't seem like a lot. But when you look at the calendar, it doesn't seem like a lot. But when we think about school, I'm going to show you a demonstration, you will see that kids fall behind. She says she put a calendar here so you
011would have a general idea, and you're looking here and only two days are being crossed off the calendar, and you might think, "Oh, what are two days?" But she says that starting with two days, before you know it , that time adds up, and so does the learning problem for the children. She's going to show you another page where she's going to explain this a little better. If you look at the picture on the right, you She's looking at the children, sorry, on the left side where the children are learning and the teacher is at the board explaining. And when you're absent, we want them to have the work. So we always ask for the work and then he'll be caught up. She says, "The red circle is in the elcho , right?" So, sometimes
012as parents we are unaware of how this affects the child. So instead of helping children come to school, all we ask is that you send us the work for the child to do. But remember, if you compare the photo on the left, when the child is at school, you missed a very important moment, which is the moment when the teacher is explaining how the work will be done . So, giving the child the job, the role, is not enough. So here is what's actually happening and this is why attendance is so important. There are quite a bit happening before the work. She says that while you're looking, look here at the arrows that go around. While you are watching the teacher above explaining the project, the children in the second picture are able to do
013the project by themselves, because the teacher has already explained it. The third one is the same. The teacher comes, helps him put up the figure they are making, but when you go up and see the last one, the child who wasn't there is missing. He has no idea what's in those papers. And quite possibly, neither were we parents because we weren't there. Yes. Yes. So, um, and thank you. I understood some of that. So, get better. [laughs] So, so, so right. So, we think it goes from here to here, but the truth is once kids sort of learn a new concept here, they kind of work together to work it out. Like what they talk about what they learned and maybe they even build something to kind of figure out and solidify that learning. If
014the teacher should be in the room, right? Then the teacher comes along and says, "Hey, I hear what you said about what you were learning. Here's something else you might want to consider." And all of the learning is happening here. The introduction happens here, but the learning, that's why we have the star here. The learning is happening here. So by the time I get here, I have all of this. Right? She's saying in the first picture again what they're going to do. In the second and third photos, as you can see, they have stars in the corners. So, the boy in the second photo is explaining to his friends what the teacher said. Then the teacher heard what he said and there was one step missing. She came to explain to the three of them
015who are here. However, the photo above explains that there is a child who was not here that day. No matter how much his friends try to explain it to him, the child is not understanding. [laughs] I'm going to go back to this here. When we think about when kids are missing days. So let's say that day that we just looked at is here and a kid doesn't come back until the next day. The next day we actually kind of moved on. We're moved on to the next concept that builds confidence. She says she's going back to the calendar so you can understand something. So, for example, if the project was finished on the 10th and the child arrives on the 11th, unfortunately on the 11th we are entering a new topic. So, what happened on
016the 10th is not to be said, not to be spoken about, not to be commented on. So, she wants you to have a visual picture so you understand how that day that child was absent is going to affect what happens in the coming weeks, and the child is going to feel uncomfortable because the next day is coming and they won't be able to do the project. And research says again that and and I've seen as a teacher that when kids miss particularly introductions of lessons but when kids miss lessons, it could take them up to 3 days to get it right. So where if I'm working with my peers, if I'm here and I'm able to engage in this, I can get it maybe even that day or the next day. The other way she
017wants you to understand is that when the child doesn't come to school, ah, it would take him three more days to understand the concept of a missed day. It's not the same if you're there as if the child is in the classroom listening to the lesson. Even if they can't grasp all the information that day, at least the next day it will be a little easier for them because they've had the opportunity to reflect. But if the child isn't in the classroom, it will take them up to three days to learn the same concept. She says this is what she wants you to do. She feels that she has given you a lot of information on the card you have; write down something you already knew or something that just surprised her. [laughter] minutes. This
018is the place, the time, and the hour for you to take the time and ask her what you need. Because you know what's going on, you can't feel guilty about something you don't know. Guilty not, what happens is that sometimes we, and especially Latinos, want to be quiet, but what we have to keep in mind here is that what we are doing is for the future of our children. So, however you look at it, ask questions, take the initiative, and if it's something you need to know that you didn't know, that's what we're here for, to help you. Do n't be afraid, we're in this together. We are all part of this team, teachers, principals, however you want to put it. And we have to thank the lady if you want to give a round
019of applause for me from now on, a round of applause for coming here. So we wanted to thank you before we finished I said to them we feel guilty we feel like we do n't know what to do and listen please down the car skip it on the card whatever. I think we've seen it all. I have been a teacher for 23 years. Yes. Yes. Tell me. Okay. His daughters are these two young ladies. And that raises a question. What happens when you have to go to the doctor? Who dared to write that? Go to the data and as absent a new policy. So what do we do? So what recommendation we have for parents they cannot bring data. The student goes to the doctor. She said that's the reason why she makes nowy. Somebody
020correct me wrong saying this. If the kids come to school where the teacher do you mind to you? Okay. So, how are we going to handle that? Yes, ma'am. I have a grand has to go to one go to your school, the other one go here. No, his mom always makes sure that she brings a note because he has to go to the doctors and he goes way to Cam. Wait for me. So we were told you can still take the doctor's not but it's not going to be excused. That's a state of New Jersey somehow with the government. my face my face the doct I they so the question is attendance offices need to She has grandson that has the ear and he had to go to the a grandson has an earn and
021had to go to the during the daytime right he's diabetic and so Okay, parents, so that you understand what is happening. So, there's a new policy in the state of New Jersey that if your child, even if they go to the doctor and bring a note from the doctor saying they were absent, is unfortunately absent. So, I'm going to wait for her to explain what we're going to do because that's something that 's out of our control. The state made that law and we have to accept it. But what I'm asking is, thank you very much. What do we do if the child , she has a grandchild, has to go to the doctor up to twice a month, then what do we do? Let's see what you answer, I see at the end, I
022mean, as I was explaining, they can mark a sick child absent and bring the doctor's note, but in the end it's the same thing, they missed school and it's the same as what the lady is explaining, I mean, the learning delay, well hello, the key is make up, you suggest they go to the doctor in the afternoon because I don't think there's any other option. She suggests to the parent to make appointment's appointment. If this room, I guess yes. But what about no room? to that to so at every case we have to give and take. True. That's very true. And I think you're right with a note she's going to get the parent award right here. She's saying absent from the dat office. The ch lost the learning. So nothing can make that up.
023And there are times when we try to make the after you know the appointment in the afternoon because we know the learning is so important or even in the evening. But there are emergencies we know that pop up right and so I did n't know about a new law around excused or unexcused absences. We know when that started did that start this year. No, last year. Okay. Oh, she says it's in the book they send to the house, which she says, she doesn't know what year it started, but it started maybe two years ago. One question, one question. You know it by chance. the well uh well we want to make sure that it's after like a certain number and the thing is that we need to know if the absences are excused as soon
024as possible because if you take let's say like a couple of days that's fine but if it's about like a week or two weeks or three weeks it's very difficult for us to excuse in absence that was like a month old and then we're trying to backtrack. So we want to make sure that it's that it is as authentic as possible. Ok, so we want to make sure that it is as accurate as possible because we want all of our students to learn and we want everyone to take the attendance policy seriously because that affects the learning of the students bu we want a positive environment for our students. So that's why we are requesting that as soon as the parent knows okay going to the doctor please bring the noent as soon as possible
025because it's difficult to backtrack when it's a month or two months behind. Excuse me. Yeah. If it's current, yes. Okay. So, and then any further questions? No. Thoroughly understood. Right. So right I mean you know cuz right so like I said if it's frequent whereas he has to go then just present that doctor's know each time and then it shouldn't be a problem and any further questions you can definitely either refer to our policy or you can see me afterwards and then we can help you to better understand all the right cuuse we want to make sure all of our parents understand the importance of attendance and we're here to support your child we understand that sickness occurs but we also want to make sure that our students are healthy but that they are learning
026as well. So I hope that kind of answered your question um because some of the like uh answers that you gave me was hypothetical like what if this happens what if that happens the goal is to support the student and to support the parent and then to make sure that our students are in in school learning. Yeah. So if you have any further questions, you can ask me afterwards. Okay. And and these are good these are good questions. Yeah. Okay. Give yourselves a round of applause. This is awesome. This is awesome. All right. Yes. Awesome. Yeah. I I think the the point that was made is about some kids really needing to be in school. We know that and we want that to happen. But the truth is that there are some health issues. She
027wants you to remember this, taking into consideration that yes, there are children who get sick, children who have to go to the doctor, the child who goes to the doctor in the morning arrives late to school, but at the end of the day, as the old lady said, the biggest problem is that the child did not learn in that hour, two hours that day. And what Dr. Tobac was telling the parents was one thing you have to take into consideration is if the child is going to be absent, you have to make sure that the note is legitimate and if you know that the child is going to be absent, notify the school. We're not saying she's going to be pardoned because it's a mandate of the law in New Jersey. We can't change the
028law, but at least in that way we can try to ensure that the child doesn't lose everything he was going to lose that day and that he brings back a legitimate note. I'm not sure what "one" means, but anyway, if you have any further questions, the data back will be available for you to speak with him personally. sometimes we have transportation issues. I know that when my kids were in middle school, if they miss the bus, my husband and I were already at work and we would have them, She says that she knows that there are many reasons why children don't make it to school. Ah, for health reasons, they're sick; for anxiety, they're disconnected. But one of the biggest things is transportation. When a child misses the bus, she said that in her case,
029when her children missed the bus, she was at work. It was a bit of a problem trying to find someone else who could send him or take him to school. for that. But sometimes that and we were very strict with our kids, but there were times when things happened. The other two things that there are times when there are housing issues. You know, um when I was a teacher, I had kids that moved and they would say, "I'm not going to be in school because we're moving. I think I'll be in school next week." or that kind of thing, but it was the family had to kind of get situated into a new setting. And so there were housing issues and sometimes even job issues that stop them from coming to school. And the point
030is is that there are things that happen that we realize that it's not that we don't care about kids coming to school. I think we all care about getting kids to school. She says she knows that there's also a problem, that her parents are moving out or that there's a work problem. to try to reduce what she says. She says the most important thing is that if you know you're going to move or have a problem with your job, try to arrange, I imagine, with someone else so that the children can get to school while the transfer is being arranged or transportation problems are being found and resolved . The other problem is work, that she was at work when her children missed the bus. So she had someone available in case the bus didn't
031arrive or left or something like that , who would go and find the boy or girl and take them to school. Think for a moment, would you give her a minute? What happened the last time your son or daughter didn't go to school? What was happening? Why didn't he go to school? When you are ready, raise your hand to share. Please, don't be ashamed. We're just talking about the fact that he didn't come to school. Anyone up for it? Because you came to this seminar to help us understand how we can help you. What happened the last time your son or daughter didn't come to school? Tell me, let me know, let me stand here just in case I'm very far away. You're not going to tell me you haven't missed school. Call me whatever
032you want, however you feel comfortable. Microphone. [laughs] Her son goes to two different schools. The girl comes here and the boy is at Exel school. Mm. She says that this morning the girl had an assembly and the boy arrived late and could not be in math class. So, this involves everyone. As you can see, she's talking about it, reminding herself of what happened this morning, and in her voice you can hear the anxiety, because sometimes you don't want that to happen, but we have to deal with it. Anyone else? Anyone else wanted to share. Tell me. Oh, you moving. The old lady was moving and they finished moving at 3 in the morning and there was no way to take her to school the next day. Can you imagine getting home, going to bed at
0333 in the morning, and waking up at 7? And I have a granddaughter who, even though I put her to bed at 8 at night and wake her up at 8 in the morning, looks at me like I'm grass. [laughs] Anyone else want to share? You get nervous when they don't go to school. How are you feeling? Do you feel guilty? Nervous, you feel guilty. How are you feeling? I don't know if I can say this here, but I am a teacher, glory be to God, of a bilingual fourth grade, and I can tell what's going on at home sometimes by the way the children come home. So, that's another thing we need to keep in mind. Maybe they don't want to be absent either. So, thank you so much. I just [laughs] think about
034how this makes this attendance problem difficult. And here's the best part, how can we help you? I told him, you can say whatever you want here, as long as you put a check in front of me. Tell me. A, she wants a nanny. She needs a nanny to avoid this problem. How can the school help you, ma'am? Parents need more help. It would help if the school could receive the children earlier. The reason she gave for that was because she had to move her daughters to another school or another city. to another school or to be able to make arrangements regarding the schedule. Briston couldn't help her with that problem. That is just one example of how the school can help parents. Some parents have to leave for work very early and you have no
035one to leave them with. And the other problem is that the parents don't have support later in the afternoon, because many parents work until 6 pm. I went out in Spanish. That was my fault. That was my fault. Okay. So, she asked for help. She is asking for more support. The reason she said she decided to leave the district, the school in Bridgon was because she don't have help in the morning or later in the afternoon. For example, she says some parents still work 6 p.m. K might be hours earlier. It depends on the age. I think high school starts what time. Okay. High school starts at 7:45. School starts at 8:15. At elementary think 8:30. Yes, mama. Yes. Excellent. Okay. E, she's a sporty grandmother. So, when you have your child playing sports together,
036you create a different kind of community. She says, one of the ways this can be resolved is as a parent you ask another dad if you are okay with taking your child to school or picking them up. Because sometimes, I don't know if you had a son who played sports, I had four sons. And then she says that what they do is that they already help each other. When one can't arrive, the other one does. Or when the other person cannot pick him up or wait for him, the other person waits for him. But the top she was touching waso after school like a lot of people don't get off from work at 6 pm. Okay. Already. She says that possibly you mothers get together to help each other. And this lady recommends if you
037can put the child in an after- school program, and I imagine that if your son or daughter starts at 7 in the morning, you're telling me, "Okay, teacher, two more hours." But we are trying to accommodate the work schedules of almost the entire community. It's a great idea. Yeah. So I actually that happened with my husband and I again our kids were very young and we started community kind of club where some of us. She says that happened with her and her husband, but in her case it only happened in the afternoons when she was having a lot of challenges because they sometimes finished late for the day and children, as we know, have a different schedule. That was a little difficult. There's the word. That's the word. She says she found someone she trusted.
038She found someone she trusted to leave her children with or someone who could pick them up. I want to share this with you who are here in this room. He says that this school has a team that can help him. When you are thinking about the help you are looking for, call this office. Okay. He's going to speak now and I'm going to try to translate for him. Go at a pace. Good evening everyone. Thank you again for coming. We are here for you and the students. Right now our team is working on one so that we have all-day programming for our district. more leadership Dr. Maryweather and Mr. Olson. Uh we want to make sure that we support you and so we are considering you know grants and other opportunities to make sure that
039we provide some services. Now we may not be able to provide all but some services that would support a wrap around program. So we will get that information to you as soon as we complete the the research and then also uh once the leadership completes that then it'll be submitted to the board and so forth. But we will get you that information at a late time take note that we are working on it. He says no thanks. He says to take note that you are trying to get a scholarship and he is here representing our superintendent and assistant, Dr. Mary Wedo and Dr. Arsen, that they are doing everything possible to get you approved for a loan or scholarship and with that money they will do everything possible to provide those services that you say
040you need. Thank you. All the people you see there are on the screen. There's Miss Perez, Miss Jesus, Mr. Bronton, Miss Pichardo, Miss Bautista Martinez, I think someone named Mr. or Mrs. Jo, and Miss Jessica Vega, okay? who are here to help you. Rodriguez se And we are here to answer any questions to support you any questions the parents may have dealing with the educational program with our community. We want you to know that even though you see seven people, there are already eight. They will eventually put you on that list, and they want you to know that they are here because they want to help you, so don't feel discouraged because help is on the way. Now, some of you are wondering where they are. They are helping to support our cafeteria staff because
041we're providing the light refreshments. Uh so we're putting them into go containers so that you can take them with you at the conclusion of our presentation. Let's give a round of applause to the people back there, who are putting your snack in a little box so you can take it home. Next. A couple of things, suggestions you can make regarding children's attendance at school. Routines, routines, routines. She says there are no words to tell you enough to emphasize that you need to establish a routine at home so that the children come to school. Expectations need to be consistent. You can't negotiate that. The child has to come to school; you have the hope that your child will come to school every day. If she woke up with a stomachache, her mom would say, "It's okay
042, you're going to school. Go to school. If you're still sick, they'll let me know. Go to school. You have to come to school." She says that when she was little, there was nothing she could say to her parents, "I don't want to." Not even if she had a problem with another student. Her mom would send her to school. Go to school. If she decides she wants to stay up late making videos until 2 or 3 in the morning, she has to go to school. She has to go to school. Let them know you're going to school. Let them know to go to school. And why? They need to know why it's so important for them to come to school, to come to school. Right. If you have a problem with your child coming to
043school, call the school here. You've already seen the people who are here to serve you. Likewise, notify the teacher so that the teacher Know that there's a little problem with the child coming to school. For little kids, these are the strategies. That daily routine has to be the night before. I send a book home every night and I tell them, I was blessed that my dad was in the military, right? So, does anyone here have family members who are in the military? My dad put a chair out. Before we went to bed, my dad would stand up, and there were eight of us. And he made sure all eight chairs were in the hallway. When you get to school, you have no excuse. There's no excuse that a teacher will give you if you send
044a book home and the book doesn't arrive at school. The lady says, "Yes, yes, the lady says, when you're going to leave the night before, you prepare yourself mentally." So why don't we teach that to children? It's the same thing. Apply the same. Create a checklist because once you put that up, kids will start telling you about what should be in there and what they should do. I would do something like that even if you want. That's good, make a list for the kids. I know that sometimes we're tired, we get home and we want to have long conversations, but with the list you can say, "Okay, what do you have to take to school tomorrow?" She says that the intention is to give children a little bit of responsibility back as well . What
045did you think? Mom, you see her back there laughing, as if to say, she'll be able to do it, right? [laughs] And finally, like celebrate the effort if you know your kids are trying to get it together and trying to help with those routines. She says that when her children follow the school rule, she should celebrate them. You know how I started the year . I have a glass on my desk and every day before the children leave my classroom they have to tell me something they are grateful for. You'll be surprised how often they say they're going home to see Mom and Dad. This can't be that difficult. There is no one in this world who can help these children progress, to succeed. Tell him that school is important. Please schimp. Oh my goodness.
046Why America? Why did we come to this country? Tell me. I didn't hear it. Hops. We didn't come here to leave the same way we came in. Look where I've ended up, I didn't even know English. English. I have two doctoral degrees. Oh, take over the presentation. You need to. There is nothing in this world more important than coming to school. They have a problem with the language, we have help. If you have a problem with language, here's some help. They have emotional problems, here is help. They have a food problem, here is help. Amen. Hello. Where's the excuse? I don't know about you, but my dad had to pay for eight of his children to go to school. Pay, pay. None of us went for free. Dad graduated three military officers. She has an
047oncology nurse, I have a brother who is a chef very far away who earns more than me, and I am a teacher. I have two doctorates in education and ministry, and two psychologists. paying. And why don't you help me? Think about that. Do you think education is expensive? It allows them not to come to school. The price will be higher. I'm counting on you. I'm on you. If we want your children to graduate, you have to help me. I want to thank the students. Give yourself a round of applause. I would love you to eat and read to them. Yes. Can I just say one more thing? Yes. Just in terms of especially that one about normalized hard days, the strategies think let kids know that sometimes there are days that are just hard. She
048says she understands that some children have problems coming to school sometimes. It's normal that you're worried too, but tell him to come over. And I say again, here are these women who can help you, they can find a way to get help. And if you don't think the child will say it, if you believe the child won't say it, write a note. Who isn't in class? Guess what? Use it. Send me whatever message you want, whenever you want. I probably won't answer you tonight, but if you send a message, no matter which teacher your child has, she'll read it. You ask me for help, and ma'am, I respect your concern about the time before and after school. I respect your concern. But sometimes we don't help you because you don't help us. Let's do this
049together. We can be doing this together. If possible. You heard that. Do you remember César Chávez? Well, say it with me. Say it with me. 1, 2, 3. Yes, we can. I can't hear you. If possible. Can . If possible. Yes, we can. Give yourself a round of applause. Thank you for coming. Questions. We are here. If you have a question, if you don't dare to ask, because I see that some of you came with your children, write it down. You write it down. Can they send it to the class to the teacher? It says, if you have a question now, please ask it, but if you don't have one, you can send it to them. You have a question. It's ready, sister. You need to talk to Dato Tobac. He is the man. He
050is the man. He is the man. You know it. Oh, you work here. Ah, look over there. We were together in the last PD. V. We found it here. There. Well, you know half of what's going on here. So, everything we tell you here is outdated. No, no, it's not worth it because I think the key here is transportation; it has a lot of problems with transportation. Can you say anything about that? of transportation. No, they're having a lot of trouble with transportation. The bus is not picking up the children. So, what's the key? What do you guys do? So, he doesn't send it. The children who call her. She says that one of the problems she has is that the bus doesn't arrive. Oh, because she says she doesn't have a can driver. So,
051if you know someone who has a driver's license , tell them that the school needs it because she says that the other day her students had to wait a long time to get there . The transportation problem, have any of you had the same problem? Okay, the old lady over there. She says this is going to happen, but you have to talk and we have to work as a team. You don't know where the word came from, if you can. Who doesn't know? Do you know who César Chávez is? If you don't know, go home and look for it. One of the Mexican people, along with Dolores Huerta, did something for you that it would be nice if you told your children about it. If Dolores and César Chávez could do it, but we in
0522026, come here, with all these dollars we're earning, we can definitely do it . So, let's talk about the transportation problem, but if you know anyone with a license, please send them to the district so we can give them a job. Anything else? Anything else? Anything else? Does anyone else have a question? Don't be sad. Why so upsetting? Communication is key. We need to communicate because we can't do anything. You are asking me for help. Cheers, my son. Say, "Thank you. God bless you. I can't help you if you don't tell me what you need." And I've been looking at you for a while. I've been looking at you for a while. Yes, I've been looking at you for a while. You're not going to leave without me talking to you. I have four boys
053in my house. So, I read the men from afar. Yes. I finally got a granddaughter. How wonderful, right? [laughs] I look cute, but I need your help. I am teacher Sierra. If you think I can help you in any way, ma'am, please don't hesitate to send me a note. I 'm the one who arrives at 8:30 in the morning, but I leave at 7 at night. That's me. I am here to serve you. I want to help their children get there. Okay, girls. How did I do it? I translated it correctly, I'm sure. Oh, well, then thank her, the lady, and tobacco. Give a round of applause to the Lord for putting this together for you. A round of applause for the lady who was here sharing. Nice to meet you. We already know how
054important attendance is for our study to be successful. Success. In honor of our superintendent, Mrs. Mary Weather and Mr. Mario Orsen and the district, I want to thank you for coming here tonight. I thank those who are in the public eye and we conclude. Let's tell him, we are one. We are one. Thanks again. Give another round of applause. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh.
