foreign question [Music] is one nation under God [Music] that's all in favor yes all in favor no presentations visitors business this is a permitted to comment on agenda items only at this time no correspondence yeah committee reports about Mr Vitality yes of course we have no report tonight again I was unable to make the meeting last night but I thought you know I I promise I'll catch up with anything anything else um thank you Ted uh we did have a meeting this month that lasted for about an hour as well as the administration we discussed a number of items including uh summer fall curriculum updates uh the revised Mentor mentee orientation program professional development for faculty on new programs uh but it revised Interventional referral services and responses to intervention tiered system the reach intervention
preparing for Cusack parent health curriculum information night for both parents and the board and separate meetings as well as K3 report card religions and uh Mr Jones brought off an additional item which we'll discuss forthcoming regarding Ruby Bridges welcome to school today [Music] um so the Ruby Bridges once the school that was brought up uh in the past by Miss Jones and we discussed it again it's something that we decided we will be doing this year as a school that will be conducted pretty similarly to the other walk to school days where there are designated teachers and staff members to help escort students to school um this is a collaboration with uh Ruby Bridges Foundation um to commemorate her brave walk to school and the mission of the organization is to end racism and bullying
so those are two where they uh causes that we would like to draw attention to your Academy as well um and in collaboration with the walk there are lessons and posters provided by the organization that we and the teachers can kind of uh break into the to the whole debt it kind of will be like a week of it um and that would be the week following teachers convention so the actual walk day will be on the Friday but we are encouraging staff and teachers to have lessons of different things like that throughout thank you that is it yeah I do have a full report if anybody wants to see it in detail s can somebody speak to collecting resources report but the two big things on the agenda are um Gary Bishop will be
retiring at the end of December and um diet quit was on the agenda to be hired as our vegan I'm going to hold our policy to see your shortness if not gave up a follow me to monitor to give it because sure so the community relations this past month and we have spoken with the Future Organization and they just have some updates uh that they'd like to be more aware of including their new website they recently had the big sale of reality we've been successful foreign classes which are undergoing or I guess sign up just recently simply closed and then their fall and winter spirit wear sale is going on through the 25th of September and then for upcoming events there is basic social that will be on Friday the 30th of September they can
anyone who's interested can purchase website and the website is very user-friendly um and their first PTO meeting will be held on Wednesday October 12th at Also I spoke with the cpack or I guess it's not cpag it's okay [Music] um parent the parent advisory group for the school um and as mentioned I think in the previous board meeting their flyer was included calendar which was very helpful for getting out the word about their group and their first meeting of the year will be on the 25th of October the group is going to be focusing on ways to work with Administration to address social and emotional needs of the students and also ways that differences can be celebrated during autism month Alexandria month Etc they'll be working on that and upcoming meetings and then also just
again the review Bridges walk to school day which is School November 4th 14th being the actual day right it's the actual day that's the day and then we practice our today is the day we return from um teachers convention so yeah in the state of New Jersey it's not as convenient just we want to make sure that all the families will remember to participate so yeah that's why we decided got it okay and that's it for community relations very good all right um nobody Minds um this brings back old memories those of you don't know what president when I got hired and so I said I feel like I've come to a certain serving as president tonight and um so thanks for skipping me um I just want to say the opening of school has
been wonderful uh make it the only glitch that some parents experience was they were hoping that they would have found out sooner about home group of scientists but this summer we were down two secretaries um hiring of 11 staff my goal was to get it out that Thursday or Friday because that's what we've always done in the past we get it out the week before Labor Day it actually went on on Tuesday after Labor Day but there were no children in school so everybody you know got noticed it was two days two school days later than what I expected but you know most people that have talked to me they understand um the difficulties that we've had this summer when you're short to stay but the kids are happy in school teachers have been amazing
at the start of the school year we're having a hard time believable today it's September 21st I feel like you know you remember being at the beach just yesterday and we're already in the thick of it we have over 80 kids staying after school for sports and clubs every single day we've had our first back to school night last week of fourth grade through eighth grade uh parents enjoyed their evening visiting with all the teachers tomorrow night is back to school night for grades Pre-K for three um we had a flat raising ceremony it's been the tradition here since I got here that The Kindergartners go outside they raise the flag with the assistance of eighth graders eighth graders reminded me that it was so special and they did it at 8th graders so it's
nice that it's come full circle that they knew the importance of eighth graders being out there raising the flat and allowing The Kindergartners to raise the flag so that was a beautiful ceremony thank you for bringing up you know the Ruby walk to school October 14th is I think I think National welcome to school day is sometime that we we always do it on a Friday because we give parents enough notice that in November we're going to do another walk to school on the 18th and then we'll do another walk to school in April when we do that during environmentally on the agenda you'll see that the board is Contracting um answer set said honestly we're going to provide two one-hour virtual uh presentations I just spoke at the meeting when I said it was
going to be in person uh they're doing this throughout the state they're all virtual we're doing the first one for the board so that the board can um ask questions and uh and then the one uh on the 25th it's the same night as uh vpac at 6 30 equal followed by a seven o'clock virtual and if anyone at CPAC wants to stay here we'll have a screen ready for them to stay there you know if need be but those are the 18th and the 25th tonight it's on the agenda for the board to the more Health curriculum I really need to thank Jen love Matt Fallon and Brian Chase on for the hours that they spent working on this curriculum at historical it reflects our community and um I think when the board uh
I know most of you have reviewed it I sent you the link and so many comments so I appreciate that you refuted and and then lastly uh congratulations I'm going to ask the board to approve Diane as our no longer acting VA and uh wishing Gary Bishop who's been here for over 20 years um another commendable employee thoughtful dedicated he's going to retire and enjoy his time his grandfather and being with his family and so with great regrets we see that he's leading us because he did his job yes as we move on to action items that nobody that is there's so many miles a bit differently uh there there are all the county courses on the program District Operations instead of going to everybody to move their their you know um related subjects I'm
just going to move the whole thing at one time so episode d e f and g it's gonna move them more than one time so if if you want to take a minute just to go through it anybody asking a question I mean so we have a discussion if somebody needs to hold an item out from Louise we can start to do that but uh does this program create a section even if there's nothing to move it doesn't automatically plug in yeah so I think I can just hide it for this meeting if there's nothing presented can we say there was something yes so I can and it just delete it just like the other agenda format so you still need an emotion in a second for the whole week and then if anybody wants
a separate temperature all right foreign Gary's retirement letter notes that I always take pride in everything heart and soul and doing my job and I've always wanted the best for the school and children and that has always been clear with that the great job people think I think a special immigrated vehicles coming up through right yeah it's a wonderful situation congratulations um anybody else Mr Baker yes Dr d'ambrosia yes Mrs McDevitt yes this is me yes Mr vital yes and um because sure so there were really there weren't any new policies that came up there were really two two things that we discussed one of which Mrs Carlson had already touched on which was the notification of students as to which class they're in we had some dialogue over whether or not we should codify
update by which parents should be notified but I think after discussing it the I think most of the members felt that that was not a good idea that you could give a hard fast day um but then I think Medallion wanted you just wanted to get your input into that as well yeah um sure I'm not sure what else to what else there is to say about that I appreciate you should follow up on an up the next meeting to see if maybe we want to just say something about who try to get out as soon as possible but things happening that's what I said today eventually goes out we talked about um the movement of our policies to the boards.platform um and we discussed about what would make what would facilitate making that easiest
for this as quickly to to do that since so the the documents have to be in Microsoft Word format that was word I think right um there's a few different ways that it can do it we're trying to find the easiest way that will make it the least amount of um and we discussed about whether or not we should hold off on putting policies all together in one Fell Swoop or doing a piecemeal and I think we agreed that um we're going to do it all together at the end right up the um and I'll just have a past time anybody wants to come in to see all the policies we make that available we um Joe last time we met had we had discussed this issue about the um the receivables from prior cafeteria
that that was never paid by um bypass students and we had initially had our meeting prior month we had all just about we should just write it off Joe wanted us to investigate that to see if there was a policy governing that's that we should send them to collections and we reviewed this and there is not a policy there's not a policy to that end so I think we are going what we just did right we just wrote it off um but we're now confident that with the new policies all this new um vendor that we're going to make sure that doesn't get to that point again um there were a few things that we had to just clean up from the farming as well related to just um mandatory policies from the state about
HIV related items that need to be you need to make compliant and yeah this hipster platform to make sure that we are the the forms need to be published online in the numerical it's been numerical order so that you can modify ing or work on them as an action um that's a lot of money and they don't feel that it's cost effective in addition by cars to invest that kind of money and so we'll have everything online but to invest in that and the state has their own foreign [Music] in your Mental Health hi I'm uh Richard Miller Gabriel uh just uh clarification there's a lot of stuff that just got approved so if I understand it the curriculum was approved tonight but it'll be explained on October 25th is that correct okay so when
when will the curriculum be available like what we see it that night or is it available now to review so will it be posted because it'd be helpful to see it before the 25th to know what's in there so I'm prepared with questions all right so will it be on the site tomorrow I don't know how this rolls out but nothing goes into effect until after October 25th is that correct after the first finances great thank you yes it's this new curriculum is it based in every cluster is it just the health where they have a knocked out instructions so the program's only in the health plus not in any of the other classes exactly yeah grade two five six seven and eight so any other grade is the same curriculum that one of those
good music not that it's even like a new program it's just some updates to the curriculum all that will be further explained during the meeting but um I think the idea that is like a specific program that would be put into classes is not exactly but it would be thank you hi can we help you know a question following up that um so if a parent opts out what does that look like okay yes um by that child with altered activities to do and then it's our responsibility to find a place for them to do that activity the virtual meeting on the 25th look like is it an interactive meeting with Administration as well is this an informational where the record reflects on presenters she just provided information on the law and the new updates
or what does that look like yes she she's going to do similar what you saw on PSA sponsored and that any questions that we have for her we can send them to her and we'll get answers back to you in a time limit the parents might be able to interact with with me and chat via the chat just like making a question if there's a chat portion I have further questions about uh number nine [Music] on October 10th is that a TV day for your staff yes children do not have school on that day and it's a full day of PD training for teachers it's wonderful is that around here that would have restraining at the beneficial diet we have to work that out because the stat that's not on there is doing other work
other curriculum work and then number 10 the Brielle remote learning plan because that was like we've made some revisions to the remote learning plan as far as the chair if a child is outset with covid it's the procedures that are that we've been using prior to code that you know they will get enough time to make up their work so there's no unless you have a situation of a plan unless we have a situation where a classroom has to stay home that will have remote learning for that class but if it's one child or two it's they'll make up the work ers unless I'm sending all the facilities class home yes thank you you're welcome thank you David report do you have anything to put together you want to add to YouTube um all right
first of all I apologize for my charting this um I I don't believe so they've covered everything okay technically okay I have one thing I wanted to bring up that a parent brought up to me about the traffic flow about Kindergartens are parents supposed to be making a left there let's turn out of that can we put some signage up or something I don't know if you could put cones or not because people are making lefts into it I actually experienced it myself this morning and then it blocks because it's not like over here where it's a circle it blocks off the whole thing or something we can do that at RN and I'll let Tiffany know okay thank you anybody else any more discussion um I'd like to make a motion to hey one
million 764 226 .50 yes yes the bank hours I'm sorry I'll statement in a good chance this looks like a format advantage of another agenda item called the board secretary yeah where it's not to be voted okay all right
