001You're gonna call uh hereby >> warmed in front Salute pledged to flag the United States and to the republic stands nationy and justice for all. Thank you. Number I think if we steep it as it is this year we with the changes we have coming in the district might be a good idea. I'd >> think the board medication Next question. >> All right. It says here actually secretary secretary I don't know. >> Thank you very much. All right. Item B on the agenda is the approval of the 256 time and location. Anybody see anything? All right. Item number 11. All right. Item number 12 related back to session. Item A is every item business session education 48918 student. I would like to move that forward. second. Item D is there was no reportable action date
002at this time 13 which is public comment not agenda 14 are reports Michelle GPA >> but I actually But I hope you all have a merry Christmas. >> I actually have nothing to report except just one small little change from our negotiations team. We remove Robert Phillips and added to Smith. So other than that, happy days. couple first our winter festival we were really excited we served over 230 people spaghetti dinner that night and was very very well attended but in PLC on Monday we're going over data and one of our goals is really hit reading and math hard in kindergarten and first grade and we got grade one NWA score initial reports back and there were zero students in free for ELA or math they were all green blue or yellow which our staff's
003been working really hard and I want to acknowledge the hard work that's gone into Mr. Spawn's intervention team solder and her work and the work last year's kindergarten because it makes it easier for the team to intervene when we don't have as many students that are in that bottom right category so we we've been all week because that's a big deal. The kids are well and we have our music um uh presentations at 1:15. Um I just want to give a shout out to Katie and Rob. um they brought their student governments over to our rally in the valley uh this last week and it's a really good way for them to see what ASB looks like at the high school level. So they had lunch at the school and then they had got to
004experience what the prep to the rally was and then afterwards kind of debrief and see what it all took you know they said oh I how long do you think this took to this rally and they said hours I go no days weeks like so um it was just an eye openening experience and we hope to continue doing it well partnerships like that with the um middle school. Also, I have to give a huge shout out to Carrie and Beth. Um they worked their hand off of this last month trying to get a grant in and it got in by December 1st um with like 512 or 5:00. It was a weird timeline. Um, but it, you know, I'm not the easiest person to work with when it comes to cell phone or replying to
005emails and, um, I just really appreciate their hard work because it's going to be an amazing thing as we get this grant and it's going to be lifechanging on CB's campus. So, thank you, Max. >> And Alex, real quick, you want just to touch on what the grant is for and >> Yeah. So, it's a modernization of the welding room. Uh, and it's not to, you know, get out the old and bring in the new, but it's to do what industry standards are right now compared to what they were. We still have a a hoist in there for a carjack and things like that that are tripping hazards. Um, it creates booths that are where the teacher can actually see all the students, a classroom within the classroom. So when the students are in the
006class, they're all windows around and so that the teacher can have, you know, kids studying and then also hands-on learning inside the room. And then the other one is she did two grants. They did uh is for construction and to have an outdoor pavilion so that the students can like build their actual projects, chicken coops is what we always keep saying. We don't know if that's where it's going to land, but and then have a forklift and things like that so that they get certifications um so that they're ready to work in the industries. >> This week we had our winter performance um Tuesday. There were three different um performances and it was just a packed house. I think it's the most I've ever seen. It was really great to see so many families come
007out to hear our kids sing and play instruments and dance. Um, and of course the kids did such an amazing job. Also, Chris, I'd like to thank Chris from transportation came out. He was Santa Claus today and so did um the classrooms and it's just really fun to see the kids. It's a whole magical thing that's just so fun. So, I really appreciate that he came out. None of those kids are turned out. >> Mr. Dodson at our school is going to be a special person on he's been growing his spirit out. He's an amazing Santa. So, he's he's coming Friday. Um, a couple of a handful of thank yous that I want to say publicly. Andy Beetle and Janette Summers for a wonderful music program that they did Friday. Um I saw Rachel Ooa
008was there at the performance and I saw her I'm like this is great and we oversee this before and she's like it was really she hugged me twice. She was like this is amazing. So I'm like I told you but it was just once again it was quite a quite a sight to see. Uh thank you to Parent Club for hosting the Santa Shop this week. It's um all set up like a little little shop and students are very excited to go shopping. And some thank yous to Terry Heeler, uh Jennifer Cornelius, Lorie Cotton, and a handful of others who are just really coming together to make sure all of our students are tested for NWA and we'll go into break with everyone tested and wishing everybody a great holiday season. All right. Uh we
009just have a couple things to report. I have we're transitioning a bunch of students back to CD. Several students attain their principles and back to develop skills from the CBS programs. We're seeing some change. Uh we had a bunch of activities recently. Uh the welding program and our because really into that started to ask about our future breeding house. Uh we have graduated seven seniors from Mount Lake so far this year and another three. So I think I have two more um look forward to the holidays really I want to say thanks to providing food for some of our students that are coming out the college for Thanksgiving gifts in our in our little closet. You couldn't even get in and out of there for a while. I appreciate the organizations that are providing for
010our kids. Miss Mo had a student that got an honor at Skoey. up for drugs in the hallway there. So, we got to go down Tuesday night and see her award for that. And then I want Miss Humble's going to be doing her the GE elementary thing, right? Dress up. It looks rich. Anyway, at 10:00 >> Oh, I have two kids from CDS. Oh gosh, off camera. I have um Well, I have a freshman that I took because he came in late and I needed to make sure he had presents before he went back in. So, he's going back. I have a junior who came in started with us. She's going back. I have one kid that I really really wants to go back and if she busts out, she thinks she is talk about
011that. We have the transition two CBS students that >> a lot of really exciting things in career technical education. I know hopefully we'll get that. So a lot of focus towards that middle school level as well. So >> yeah strong exciting stuff very >> Mr. Wall um chef chef received a $5,000 grant from Rancheria for breathing 15 year lipan that was it that was one thing $10,000 a good deal they asked if we would take less and take and give them Okay. >> I'm sorry. Just question at some point district. the money. >> That's why >> you know >> there is definitely >> and then Second business appointment. Still question. All right. Under student services, we have 24. So they are models down. No, I mean >> yeah, it's just like I said it's kind
012of a comprehensive look at >> all that. Moving over to technology discussion of action digital conversion back. Yes. So it's more of an office thing. Um, we have a numerous years worth of records that have not been archived that obviously pose a safety risk as far as lost documentation or god forbid burn down or something. So they we uh just really get caught up for years and years worth of effort. Beth and I met with this company and received the bid to take around 209 boxes of records just folders and so forth along with some s records all of that we need to get digitized to protected. We also this will get into our lab system where the staff can spend much less time when they go to look for an ancient record. They can
013quickly just look for it electronically as opposed to digging through the records. It's just it's time for us to get out, get it protected, get it usable for our >> I think if memory serves, they have to be kept indefinitely. >> Many of them >> and these are decades. >> Yes. >> What's that? >> Forever. >> And this person was side. >> Yeah. Yeah, that's what they do. >> But yeah, they >> they're better and some people >> they certify certification disposal. >> We actually have They'll be stored as a fish which we have backup. It is stored in the cloud. There's also extra protection for laser bes. >> Are they the only >> Oh. They are the only company we met with this problem. Is it just the best of the best when it
014comes to >> especially with students to me they're one of the only companies that will feed into our current system. So this is >> but privacy they keep that at the forefront. The nice part about produces that it doesn't have to go to anybody else to then put in so it makes it a little more protectous tedious very it's a very demanding job I've seen the room I've seen the records it would be it would be insurmountable almost for one person to do in a in a very streamlined or efficient manner which is what they're going to do. So I would just as my secondary you guys this job is huge. other secretary. >> What happens after they scan the record? No, >> we're have dispose of them. Give us a basic return. We don't
015know. They're shredded. >> They're shredded. Once they have a shredder system >> and they did they carry liability for if there's any kind. Yeah, they have someone tell me that certificate. This new mic is last month actually. >> Oh, was that nicer tonight? >> Well, we were we kept Scott and I kept pick but this It sounds approval 256. So this is just the annual report of developer fees that we received. funds that we spent for 242. So I think we spent 3600 Second number two, I didn't stand up. Did we get more than one bid? >> We did. We got two bids. We reached out to >> What was your bid? >> All right. All those item three is discussion and approve of the contract buildings. So this is so he is going to
016be moving two portables from elementary school to us district and then two of our own portables from campus to campus that's scheduled to happen that he is he pretty much does He's works at all the time, but that's not >> item number four. So this year um we're going to show a much bigger deficit than we have in the past only because we're budgeting reserves to fund the reconfiguration within the district and upgrades that the new new to Riveridge campus that um was not included in our city to make any improvement to that campus. So with that being said, our um balances on our funds have gone they kind of are maintaining about $46 million. Um but if you take out the capital fund 21 which is a bond fund less than private groups. So
017in revenues um what we're looking at the difference between where we were adopted and where we are today at first um our LCF >> is going down about $127,000. We have an increase um in ADA of almost two ADA but we have a decrease in the pupil count. This year we did data confir and updated their records. So that affects our supplement concentration. So that has just um federal funds have gone up. We usually first you're going to see funds going up from state and federal because we receive our awards on grants and title entitlements typically in September and October. So federal grants have gone up to 5,000 to see increases that we were expecting. Um the state side some of this funds we brought forward to you the 45day revised awards receive block that
018they from us two years ago that there's a new one discretionary block grant for student support and professional development. The title is just the way that the state says we would like to use spend this way, but once discretion in the title, it's up to the district's discretion. And then just changes to propre local side typically we don't see such big increases, but we have increase of $62,000 and that was medical reimbursements. medical practical are contracting that kind of helps us reimburse get reimbured for services that we provide to students that are able to go to medical and so we received they're going back and looking things that we've turned into unrestricted to So we have we're estimating our um revenue at the end to be 46 million. um salaries overall kind of maintained. They
019went up just a little bit, but we um had to increase our professional support main for kindergarten. The TK ratio to 10 to one for adults and the need for more. So that was increased classified since the price have gone up. Um we had budgeted carryovers from last year last year this year. So that's increased budget for supplies. Um services and operations. We increased our contract with our speech contractor to kind of serve the students that we have on the speech and then we also are starting to budget for the reconfiguration. So for services and stuff we have a portion of that budgeted between services and operations and are we struggling with students that we already have. We can double >> basically once we hit that ask. >> So the increase in capital [clears throat]
020is due to the um reconiguration at Riverside. So we have so ending balance um or any balance is going up. We did have a big increase in the beginning [clears throat] our deficit has which is kind of a direct reflection to the extra budget. So those things we're estimating And this kind of just spells out what basil and Do you think they have a child? >> I can I can talk to that. I typically expenses and benefits and everything. The state requires us to keep understand some of the things you're looking for. mental health. So we use those funds so that those funds but they don't have to necessarily students. So that's just a carry over. So as we get into both conversations been really throughout the state to release school services is who we
021typically use for our estimates and they % I went to the CEO analyst office 2.5% so I used a 2.5% to estimate two outs also made an adjustment to the way we calculate Just going back to history. So I kind of adjusted those to that. So you'll see that we aren't going to decline as quickly and offset. So when I applied those colons and new ADA to the post calculator, the 692,000 increase that we'll see in 2627 up to 2.16% that's based on decline and then the 2728 is only at 212,000 increase which is less to the district. So it just it depends on the people and and other other revenues have been adjusted for if they're tied to as So staffing for 2627 we just have ste was budgeted negotiations have not been budgeted
022savings due incurs. So in 26 27 there is a reduction in salary expense because we are reducing both the extra duty funds and the extra duty budget staff to be able to in seven budget and staffing at this time we are attrition. And then other expenses reconiguration the district has been maintain. So our deficit spending shows a reduction as we go out into the success. So this is overall in 2526 as you see estimating 2.27 26 27. So as a whole, the state is really looking at staff and shortages. We've been doing that here for years. So it's just been still still a difficult thing to do. deadlines are approaching there's conversation about next year but we'll see how that usually we can't really depend on what governor says about usually we're still working and
02388 we are Let's see. We'll get the first district courts. Want to congratulate Rachel Amber for winning the best of the North State this year for best child care school. And last year we were the prize if you will, but we're able to win this year and It was really cool and even though we knew we were doing a fantastic job or lose, the fact that they were recognized was really just some outstanding people. So just excited for them and excited for our district to be able to have that. So congratulations to everybody involved. Thanks. I still want your pictures. It was a great but congratulations. I also want to send a special to our folks who uh give so much of their time. Uh I know tomorrow I think they're doing turkeys at at
024Central Valley. >> Yeah, I'll be there to see Kathy close by tomorrow. >> Yeah. And so just a big thank you to them and just helping out families and people who obviously at this time we all have different levels of income and opportunities to be able to do things and it's a special I appreciate everything you do and also I thank you. The music everything I've seen and heard about music phenomenal. I know last night Alex too about you know the job's doing and I have a special place for Janette. She taught someone that I know pretty well years and years ago and she great job and she uh continues to do an awesome job as Andy and everybody involved. So I want to thank that really excited to see the WA scores that are
025coming out just all the sites like some results as well. It's really cool. So, we're excited to be able to report out on those and and also all the work that's happening with our check. So, the last part is just I know right now everybody is ready to take a big sigh. Everybody's been in education. It's just crush it. look towards the first finish line and I always joked about the before and after before break everybody's so happy first thing back to the front after two weeks with family and friends and all that but uh it couldn't be more well thank everybody everybody certificated classified for the hard work that happens in the district a lot going on this year and we're poised to make some second seme congratulations from another board earlier this week
026actually so community definely pay attention I really appreciate all the work that goes into engagement the CSBA education conference and very nice and I also want to thank just just help everybody out. So great to see the community coming together to help each other. You don't even have to. So, please a quick thing on that birthday 72 million. >> I bring the average down a bit, but I have a multi,000. I'm not celebrating birthdays like I once did and wish my wish everyone happy safe holidays and enjoy your breaks. I just want to thank everyone for a great first half of the school year here at Gway. I hope everyone enjoys a merry Christmas. Thank you everyone. and check out the business because I know that centralizations and stuff and excited for the reconfiguration and
027I hope the staff starts getting more and more comfortable as more information. Hopefully we can keep >> opportunities to get um happy holidays which does include Merry Christmas and happy new year which way you want to go. Everybody enjoy your time off. Congratulations for the two weeks off. >> Well, I wanted to thank several times. Anyway, you guys learned your All right, with that we'll adjourn 48.
