Thank you for your patience. Uh meeting at 5:00 session response needed here. Casey here. Gas body of the United States of America. and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I have a motion for the favor. >> Item 11 number 11 is announcement of any reportable action taken in close session with relationship to 11A. The board did vote unanimously in close session to approve the resation of the feature. Uh under 11B there was no action taken. Item 12 is public comment. These are things not listed on the agenda. This item public is invited to address the board. Items that are not not listed on the agenda. Speakers are three minutes each by law. It's not action not agenda as I was trying to say

earlier. Um but anyways um the last time I was here and attended the meeting and I made some comments and your wife did Mr. Lewis your wife did not like what I had to say to you. my freedom of speech. I'm allowed to tell you all board members what you're not doing and what you are supposed to do. We are supposed to hold you accountable what you you know as a public in citizens. So for your wife just because I don't she don't like what I come in here and say what I have to say. You know you tr you actually tried to retaliate against me by filing false statements saying that I was convicted of election fraud and I was never convicted of election fraud. Just for everybody to understand that it's been repeated

over and over. That's why I filed the federal lawsuit against you and I also file against Mike Mangus for saying that lie. And so that's Channel 7 News. So, and for your wife to feel that she could come out and try to follow me and thinking she's going to threaten me and try to silence me for coming and and addressing my issues with you, I have a right. If she thinks she's going to try to manipulate or try to scare me, she is actually messing with the wrong person trying to scare me in the parking lot. Are you kidding me? She tries to do anything to me. It will be the last time and the last time she will put try to raise her hand against me or anybody who tries to follow me and

try to intimidate me to silence. I have a constitutional right to a freedom of speech to address anybody who does something wrong to me who actually deflains me or says any slander against me. I'm not going to tolerate it. Like I told people before in the past, I will talk start taking action. That's why I file a federal lawsuit against Mike Mangus for saying that defamation against me for years and years. It was repeated. So that's why I'm in court with him and I'm not going to give up. I will go against you and I will continue. I don't care what you think. You're going to silence me. You might use the the the school's funds to use the lawyer to to shield you, which is actually misuse of public funds because you actually did

something you're not supposed to as a public official. You know that. But yet you're abusing your position thinking you could just use the public funds to defend yourself. But I'm going to continue. I'm going to fight you because you actually slander me and you use your position to do it. So therefore, you are accountable. So you make sure your child tell your little wife keeper and the small short leash she puts her finger on me. It'll be the last time she to lose that finger. Thank you. Is there anyone else that would like to address fourth? Seeing none, we will move on to item 13. These are items of interest communication to the board. Item A is a notification letter CH county office of education condition. >> It's actually not a conditional approval. Yeah. So

and our budget Item number B, item B is Gateway District wellness policy. >> Good evening. We're just pivoting the wellness policy every three years assessment on it. It's hard to get people together to form a panel to do that with families and things like that. So I thought we'd try the survey. to all families and then to also we've had 120 responses there and we just need to make it public questions on >> Yeah. I can come up and find things there. >> All right. >> Item number 14 is Buckeye School of the Arts. Rob, >> good evening. I'm excited to be able to present um some of the things, the hard work the Buckeye staff from last year, a little bit of what's going on on this year. Um the team worked really hard

and they just got to see some of those that hard work show up. So um the staff on our first inservice day we were able to get out and get a picture. We can go to our CASP results. So one of the major things we're always looking at is CASP. Um the 2020 the 2.3 24 results on the left and almost a 13% increase um for to 24 25. One of the things I'm really excited about is you'll notice the orange. We really don't want students in the orange. That orange has shrunk significantly. Um staff work really hard. Part of that was um making sure students were responding to the written responses. Um in 2324 we had almost 63% of students that were not providing enough information for the right written scores. Um, this year

we had 23% that had issues with being on topic or on purpose, which is part of the PD that everybody's doing this year in the writing is to help students um stay on topic and stay on purpose. And so that's really exciting to see that growth. Um, these are some very specific data. Um, our the scores all the way on the right are third grade to third grade. Um so our students are gaining in proficiency. Um the cohort growth which students from third to fourth grade is there in the middle. Um you can see 16% growth, 24% growth, 14% growth and 14% growth. There is a change in the testing um and when you hit sixth grade, we're working on that and seeing what we can do to boost there. But when we see the

the double digit gains, our our team worked really really well. Math um was a little bit flat lines. Um that is a big focus this year. We're working with the county. Um you can see it was 18.7 and went to 19.1. Um one of the things we realized last year though, um our fourth grade had a 10% growth. Um and and what they did is they used they have IVs and IBS and that's what the math um PD um get um districtwide is going to be focusing on is getting using those practice assessments um to build um student capacity so when they hit the state test they can show and throw in the NWA scores and these are fall um the change and from fall to the end of the year. Sorry. Um you can

see we went in K6 reading scores, we went from 38th percentile as the median to 48th percentile as the median. And we're noticing that the kids are struggling a little bit with NWA um compared to some of the other assessments. And in seventh and eighth grade, they went from 42nd to 45th. math. Um they went again a little bit of a flat line, but you can see in the seventh and eighth they went from 31st percentile as the median to 38 percentile. Um so showing some but these next ones are what make me really excited and really thankful for how hard my team's working. What you're seeing here is where our K students were at the beginning of the year on our 95% reading assessment. some and there was a lot of areas for growth

in March which is this next slide. This is where they were and so we when you are doing interventions so from Mar from end of March to the end of the school year it's much easier to help a small group of students to fill in those gaps. And then we just got our first grade data in from one of our classes that matches these students and that's the next slide. So this is current data. All the blue is proficient. All the green is advanced. And so we're really excited about the growth the kids have because it sets a foundation for success to get get those reading and it's the hard work for everybody on our campus to make sure kids. And then this year we're really focusing on student experiences and we have over 20

field trips um planned already. um things from like the alpaca farm, you can see the cute pictures up there in the farm day, Chaska College, City of Reading Transfer Station. Um trying to get kids out there to experience things they may not have experienced before, connecting the school and help them really um stay committed to their learning during the school year. Um we're connecting kids um through different events. Um, we just had Smokey, um, Captain Call and Sparky come to do fire safety with TK3 and when those mascots walked out, the screams from the kids, it's like, they're here. Um, and they were really attentive. Um, and so we're doing trying to get a lot of different things this year to really connect the kids, make it a really, really fun year for them. And

that includes, and I noticed I wasn't on the later agenda, our Buckeye Fall Festival on October 23rd. It was starting out as a small event and it keeps getting bigger and bigger and we're really excited um for that event. Just really trying to let kids know hey school can be fun and you can learn a lot too. >> What time is that? >> Um 5:30 to 7 and we're going to have chili Kona Ice is going to be there. Balloon animals face painting going to be great. And one of the things on this that we're trying to find um things to really keep kids on the right track and Holly Mitchell um who's our behavior pair athletic director came up with hey if kids are doing what they're supposed to how about we give them

five football lunch that's big hit when the weather and things per um of course we have the sports and the reason um Za's up here with her medal she was so proud of that first place medal and I mentioned that at one of the board meetings and it's just really connects kids. She was going around and showing that around school. That's what connecting kids to school is all about. And sports are a big way um to do that. And a little Hey, we got >> your daughter up there and Paulie son >> and we're so excited to have an art teacher. um fully credentialed, lots of experience and when you come around for the walk um through definitely want to take you by her her room and we're really excited to have her. So all

TK um five are getting art every week and then the 68 are getting a chance to um have that through an elective and today the kindergarters were making prints and it just was awesome and all this work comes together because of us all working together whether it's in PLC with the teachers um our leadership meetings um working um to get connect parents with parent square connecting every family of school that more and more parents are connecting through parent which makes it easier to connect. Our parent club is growing. We had three. We now have more. I can't remember exact numbers, but there's more than three now. And they're really sp spearheading our events that we're we're doing. And then our community connect partner is working with the parent club and our um community members to

bring in um different groups um to help out as well. So all working together so we can continue the kids growing and learning and just really excited because when you see the data and you see the kids have more foundational skills that's good for everybody it's good for our district question as far as with the configuration campus coming down that students >> so change is always hard Right. >> But that's part of the reason we're focusing on student experience and creating a lot of fun things they can look forward to, stay connected to, and have great >> and figuring out that >> and I want to commend, you know, some exciting things happen. As you can see, there's some real exceptional work. I want to commend Rob Elsa, the instructional coach, working with But their

entire team, everybody to our certificated team just doing some outstanding things. Um the easing assessment blocks that prepare students for growth lower and so really proud of the work you're doing there and uh and some things never change. I still see smokey and get excited. He's the best. But anyway, I just want to congratulate >> when Rob gave me the name of the person to uh receive the champion. I said, I'm not even going to be sarcastic about this one. I said, that's the best choice you could make. Holly Mitchell, I don't care. I don't know. No. >> Oh. Oh my god. >> Ollie, you know, I don't want to miss anything, but is a behavior support parent here as a club guy. If you've been and just talk to Holly, he just has the

kindest heart. Uh, just a gentleman. Kids feel safe with her. She does an amazing job. She coaches pretty much everything. I think the only coach softball and I know that you uh were experts fly all the stuff but she's still coach you know. No but we appreciate so much for the work you do. I know every time I see you regardless of the situation she's smiling she's positive and you know recently I heard that she had had a little bit of an issue with a student you know with saying Nobody's talking to Paul and uh we got to protect Polly at all costs. She's wonderful, wonderful lady and we are so pleased blessed to have you in the district. Wait, >> one more time for >> I know that's fine. She's the athletic director extraordinaire.

She can wear it. >> One thing I didn't put in there. Been doing it for a long time. Thanks. >> Thanks, guys. Thank you, Ollie, for all your work. >> Uh, Michelle, what do you expect GPA? I don't know how I watch her report, but I wanted to thank Tina for working so hard with Michelle Perez on the working to get teachers with the reconfiguration. >> Thank you. >> No, it's nice. I mean, it's been been nice though. >> I mean, it's always nice, but [Music] >> just briefly, um, first, right after this at 7 o'clock, we do have a powder puff game. So, if you got juniors versus seniors, um, we got enough juniors, they weren't scared, so pretty. Um, and then I just have to give a huge shout out to Chris in

transportation. Uh we had a situation on the bus coming home for Lassen where the bus broke down and um it's 11 o'clock at night right and Chris instead of having to wait he got on the phone he starts talking to um the tech I assume Steve I don't >> and so um he goes knocking on you know doors to find coolant for the uh bus and I just think that's like going over and beyond when he didn't have to. They could have waited for, you know, someone to come help them and he wanted to make sure the girls got home and I just thanked him. I saw him pulling in and he's like, "Oh, the girls were great." Were great at first because I saw he always has such a positive attitude and I have

to like commend him because he's one of those bus drivers that comes in and he'll leave a note on my desk just saying like, "Oh, the boys were great last night. You know, we got home late." He doesn't have to do those things. And I think he just does and he does it with a smile on his face. And I just want to say thank you because not many do that. >> So I just want to talk a little bit. Parent conferences are going on right now and doing a great job. You've had a great turnout. It's always nice to see parents coming and making those connections with their teacher for their child. Um, and I'd also like to thank those of you who came to our learning walk. It was great to see everyone

and show off what we do. >> Um, good evening. Um, we have our first home game. It's it's in two weeks, October 29th. And the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade girls, they play four, five, and six. Creepy Crawley dance or not dance, the Creepy Crawley music concert for 6th is the day before on the 28th at 5 o'clock. And then if you want to see a fun Halloween costume parade, it's on the 30th at 12:45. And um the fourth and fifth grade right after at 1:30 are going to do a fun little musical production out. Chris, last but not least, a couple of shout outs as well. I know my office staff building relationship kids kind of breaking away from the crowd motivated to do some awesome stuff. My counselor, I got to give her

a shout out. She took kids out to college two weeks in a row. She did one for automotive another lot of things going on over there. We had our resource fair.5 this spring as well. You guys coming around we as a board approved the hiring of a second automotive teacher for the program and we are at 53% of our student which was So we're a little bit short on what we could build and like to see that build. >> Yeah. And we talked about there's few factors but at the end of the day we're smaller classes >> that takes us to item 16 which is consent agenda for anybody on the throughout. >> What was your operation? Just the developer fees through the the is that something that we have to have to be that

we treasure. So county. >> All right. question. Second item 17 board policy adoption. We have two. The first one is second reading discussion action regarding school associated proceeding consideration I I get it. for that kind of stuff that they're mandated or recommendations of concern on this one. >> Yeah. Hi >> Robinson. >> Hi. That takes us to the second reading discussion and andor action school board policy. June policies. >> Well, I told him I would have already, you know, I would have there's I understand it's >> all right. Do I have a motion on the motion? vote. >> I at this point we're going to close public hearing public hearing 2025 local control accountability. 28. We have >> This is her her story. Who's this? So for our LCAP um we receive additional learning recovery

funds um so at our 45day in order for us to we have to and address. We have linked in our path to covering things such as summer school, the curriculum for the summer school programs, after school tutoring. So all of those programs that we like to offer to our students achievement credits We're still getting >> so usually it's like March or you I can get that >> just to address the difference which was pretty All right, we'll close the public hearing 5:30. All right. Item 19 is new business. The first is a consideration and public notice of the district's initial proposal to teachers association regarding certificated unit collected party agreement negotiations with 267 beginning the process of negotiating negotiation process. But um we're the district's reopening article 6 2021 covering evaluation compensation and that's our

and we have not set a date yet number two obviously association sunshine this certificate requirement Yeah, just announcing hours and compensation also special. So that's a little bit >> right. B is fall under business service and item one discussion action through resolution 2526-12 filing of applications for the school's facility. So this is just a resolution to the board authorizing the district that we go out to public funds public state funds when they're available for construction at the district level facilities prop we can always be approved and in line to receive those funds and they can work in conjunctions. So this resolution just speeds up that process. April next year. Item number two, discussion and or action to approve the oversight operations. >> This is just an open hand to renew their chart. So this just

covers all overight financial instructions and nothing to do with what we expect. Item number three discussion action to approve facilities use. >> So through prop we are required to provide them space enough space to cover the students that have been that they that are our students going to their school. Um so this this facility use agreement is for facilities beyond that that they need to rent that which is your classrooms and offices of the space principles. So this covers that portion but it also responsible for upkeep responsible and this is just so Next year we're not [Music] >> I was just going to ask that was We're currently discuss I Okay. Item C is under instructional service discussion or action to approve the college and career access. >> Correct. Um this is our we refer

to it as a CCAP agreement. This is a renewal of what we approved from last year. This agreement with Sha College makes it easier for us to have the enment and facilitated courses. It allows our students to take additional units beyond what normal limits are for high school students and uses the application process. And finally, number two, under services discuss action to revised 2025 2026 control. All right. >> Yeah, just a few quick ones. Uh this is California week of the school administrators and obviously we celebrate spring with national days and all that coffee but um no I I do want to thank our school administrators really sometimes thankful's job it's hard to understand but you're not exactly counting Christmas cards because you know we often trying to play the middle or sometimes having to

deliver news that isn't the best. A lot of times you get some really cool stuff to do as well. A lot of hours away from the family and so we just want to do want to thank Rob for his presentation. Some exciting things happening Buckeye and all such proud. I wanted to just a quick thumbnail elevator speech on test scores overall. really good as a district. um and we saw some growth in a lot of our schools. I want to send a special shout out because um I spent some time at that place and college number one in the LA County and that was a really cool thing for comprehensive sites and top search but so you know I just really proud nicely people process really being detail oriented and seeing things hopefully before they

arrive and you know sometimes in the hustle and bustle all this stuff we can kind of this it's crazy now this is going on focus on you know I legitimately reminded of a quote from one of my favorite shows was Andy Mard. I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually looked. And uh there's a lot of wisdom in that quote because sometimes when you're in it, you look back and say, "Wow, we're having a good time." And takes a lot of people to make that happen and there's some great things going on. So thanks everybody. Bobby just all the administrators and congratulations to Central Valley for great test and learning Uh it's really thanks to Chris for the resource fair lakes. Got to check that out.

So that was good. Good information piece seeing what else is out there, you know, for outreach for students. A lot of stuff I wasn't aware that is available. So it was good to learn. I kind of gather all in case I ever you know anything with friends or family. So um and thanks to Tammy and Grand for the hospitality taking us around campus all the new stuff that's going on there. Another good month here. So appreciate everyone's hard work. [Music] in seventh grade. brother and sister. It's going to be good. I love that. Volleyball games. Come check out the TV volleyball games. >> I think >> Oh, okay. I think we have >> favorite I also attended the friend learning walk and it's always educational to do that and about what's going on at the

campus also that's the four people trying to candy to keep like Frank. >> Yeah, I' been working on it. Trust me, you guys are doing flag football and I was taking a lot of students out of any other than that. >> Happy Thanksgiving. >> Sorry. At least I didn't say. >> All right. You know, I did not get to visit Grand Oaks this time around, but I did make Christmas debut over there. And you know, just for point, I'm pretty sure my wife actually every time she come chewing me out, you would think my behind would be getting small. She wants me to lose weight. So anyway, thank you for your patience and with that callment.
