[Music] i'm wiley and i'm marlo and you're watching cat tv news today there will be a peer leadership outreach with all the freshmen all other students will have class meetings and you will be called to an assigned location by an announcement the bell schedule returns to normal starting at 5th period the national honor society has invited a new group of students to apply for next year grade point average and extracurricular work are some of the qualities that are considered if you received an invitation you should have returned to misstack already yesterday was the deadline good luck to all those who applied natural sciences is in the midst of an annual fundraiser that involves making natural reads and other items cat tv reporter sophia had the chance to talk to some of the students here she
is with the interview hi i'm sophia and i'm here with natural sciences i'm rebecca and i'm tyler what are you guys doing in class today well for the past few weeks we've been making wreaths and like this one and grape blankets yup so these kinds you can lay on um like graves in the place of um flowers and so in the middle we're going to put bows we just haven't made those yet and then we also just do regular wreaths for people's houses for example this one's an eastern red cedar and some the different types of wreaths we do are there's 18 inch 12 inch there's decorated ones which you could have like uh like christmas tree like ornaments on there or like regular ones which we'll just have yep and there's a difference in
thickness too because as you can see this one is kind of just like an amalgamation of wood pieces so it kind of gives it out like a little bit thicker whereas if you see on the side here this one's a lot like thinner but it's like on that angle and the different type of frames for the wreath is as he's shown this one is a like hey a wood chip one or there's a wired one and for the gray blankets um they're made right in the boathouse with just like they're just made um so if you're selling these uh how much does it go for and is it benefiting anyone um normally they're around like 30 to 20 dollars and the like it goes to like the ffa so like anyone who wants to go
to nationals that pays for that their jackets yup future farmers of america then we're selling them to the teachers and to veterans all right um so what do you guys enjoy about doing this i mean like this class is a lot different than others you you're like not stuck in the classroom every day you have actually have the chance to come out here and learn about like what's around you yeah yeah we're using all the pieces from just around us from all the trees and different stuff we walk out to the marsh every day i think just the other day a few of us went out there and they got like all kinds of wet but it was fun because he went and got all the materials that sounds pretty good um so are there
any like tricky parts to uh like making these like um with like some of them you gotta make sure like they're just right you don't want them yeah like for these you for like you don't want them to like out puffy or something like that or the gray blanket to like not come out right yeah exactly you don't want it too big either where it's just like trying to think of the word overzealous i guess i would say yeah [Music] so [Music] thank you guys for your time and back to the studio see ya have a nice day thanks for the interview don't forget the poinsettia sale is still going for another week in agriculture and the sbys food drive is still accepting donations drop boxes are in the cafeteria now it's time for question
