All right, I call the April 8th special board meeting to order. A roll call. Mr. Walk here. >> Mrs. Rudy is absent. >> Mrs. Gonzalez is absent. Mr. Rivas, >> I'm here. >> And Mr. Crawl is here. Uh, please stand for this flight slip. >> Ready? Begin. Pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Thank you. Uh item C, approval of the agenda. Could I get a motion to approve agenda items that are listed tonight? >> I'll make a motion. >> Thank you, Mr. Ras. >> Thank you, Mr. W. Uh Mr. Walk. Hi. Um, >> Mr. Shy is absent. Mrs. Gonzalez is absent. Mr. Rivas, >> hi. >> And Mr. Carroll. I
Item D, public communication. Members of the public may address the board on items on the agenda. Speakers will be allowed three minutes unless the time limit is waved by majority of the board. The board will allow comments by members of the public on an agenda item during consideration for the item. The board may limit the total time for public input on each item for to 20 minutes. 003procedure. The right to address the board does not exempt the speaker from any potential liability for defamation. The proceedings of the board are recorded and are part of the public record. At this time, anybody wish to members of the public wish to address the board. Okay, seeing none. Item E, action items. Uh, action item number one, approval of Orus Numba High School track project bid from TBS contractors for the amount of $2,66,3969. Go ahead, Mr. So before you, you have um the eight different companies that late that gave a bid today at 100 p.m. Uh Matt Vargas was there as part of the um the bidding process and we've had one contractor that is recommended before you buy our architect to um and you have that letter from our architect as well. Um I believe
the project was about 3.6 6 million estimated and um but we had actually set aside 5.5 because we weren't sure if we were going to have to do something with our bleachers um with that. If if that came back, we were prepared to do that. So, uh but what actually came out really nice is the bid was far below that as well. Um some of the things that um I' I've heard of out in the community is uh how is it possible we're doing this when we're having a a tight budget? Again, these are bond funds, totally separate. Uh you can't use this this money. It's only for construction. Um and so, uh new projects. And then, uh the other one was is I thought the priority was for von Rener first. We did send
in von Rener project to the state first, but it still has not come back. And I believe when we talked about that, we're like, hey, we're going to start with Von Rener, but we'll probably do some other project before that because it's going to take a while before the Von Rener project gets approved. It's a much more in-depth project to to uh take buildings down and put new buildings up versus putting in a track. >> Thank you. >> So, I recommend that this get approved tonight. >> All right. >> Oh, one other thing I forgot to add. Um part of the process for having a special board meeting tonight is so that there could be an open window so that we can still hold graduation in the stadium. The further we push it back, the
less likely that can happen. Okay. and also get it done in time before school starts. >> Sounds good. >> Thank you. >> Um, any questions for M? >> It's going to be like how the we did the football the grass be you know blocked off all that right like nobody goes in there and >> yeah in the plans there's a for you mean when there the project is >> when it's getting worked on when it's getting worked. >> Yeah. There will be there'll be a construction fence so that there's no interaction between the employees for the construction company and the students. That will totally be separated off. >> Any questions? >> No. >> Excuse me. All right. Can I get a motion to approve action item number one? Approval of the high or stumble high
school track project bid from TBS contractors for $2,66,3969. Who would like to make a motion? >> I'll make that motion. >> Mr. Ris, >> I'll second. >> Thank you, Mr. Walk. Uh, Mr. Walk. >> I Mrs. absent. Uh, Mr. Gonzalez is absent and Mr. Rivas. >> Yes. Hi. >> And Mr. Gro, I All right. Well, um I just want to say um it was it was good for the school district to be able to do this project way under bid. Um the amount of students and kids that use that facility are probably in the thousands if not tens of thousands every year. So, um thank you to Matt and uh the process to get that started and hopefully we have it no delays and hopefully it's good for graduation of 27 >> 29th. Oh, I'm
sorry. >> 28 and 29. Yeah, the 28 29 school year. Yeah. >> 28 29 28 for yours. Yep. >> All right. With that, uh, we'll adjourn tonight's meeting at >> 6:06 p.m. Thank you.
