Next, we will perform a selection from my favorite Christmas movie, A Muppet Christmas Carol. This piece is entitled One More Sleep Till Christmas. >> [singing] >> in the airing [music] world and people love and care. [music] The [singing] promise of excitement is one the night will keep after [singing] [music] Christmas. The world [singing] has got a smile. There's [music] no such thing as strangers when everyone [singing and music] is family. We're having so much fun. After all, there's [singing] only [music] one sleepy [singing] pleasure. [singing] We feel it. It's a season [singing and music] and to keep [music and singing] alive [singing] and everyone [music and singing] can feel it. the feelings running deep. After all, there's [singing] only one more sleep till Christmas. After all, there's only one more sleep till Christmas [singing] day.

[music] [applause] Next, we have a song, though not necessarily inspired by winter, has some wonderful darker harmonies which remind me of a gray wintry day. This is Alice's theme by Danny Elfman from the film Alice in Wonderland. >> [music] >> Oo. Oh, [music] [singing] [music] [singing] where have you been? [singing] What [singing] have you heard? What have you seen? Alice. Alice, please. [singing] Alice. Oh, [singing] are you big or small? [singing] It's [singing] such a long way to fall. Alice. Alice. Oh, Alice. [singing] Not that you [music] choose. Perhaps you should be coming back another [singing] day. Another day. And nothing is quite what it seems. [music] You're dreaming. Are you [singing] dreaming? Oh, Alice. [music] Alice. How [singing] will you find your way? >> No time for [music] tears today. No time for tears

[applause] So this is [singing] Christmas and [music] what have you done? Another [singing] year over just [singing] begun. And so [music] this is Christmas. I [singing] hope you have [music] the old and the [singing] young. [music] A merry merry Christmas [music] and a happy new year. Let's [singing] hope it's a good one without any fear. [singing] Christmas [music] [singing] year [music] is over. A new [singing] one just begun. War is [singing] over if you want [singing] it. War is over [singing] now. [music] Merry, [singing] merry Christmas and a [music] happy new year. Let's hope it's [singing] a good one without any [music] fear. And so this is Christmas. [singing] What [music] have you done [singing] over a new [singing and music] begun? This is Christmas. [singing] And what [music] have you done? Another [singing] year

over. [music] [singing] [music] War is over [singing] now. [music] >> [applause] [applause] >> Thank you so very much. Next up, we are going to have Mr. Hurock and the strings as our concert choir heads back to their seats. Uh, unless you're in chamber choir and if you need to uh get out of your ropes, you can head up. All right, come on back. >> [applause] [applause] >> Dell. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Hey, heat. Hey, heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] [applause] >> Uh, we need a little bit of arrangement here Well, people move backwards and forwards. Uh Ronan's been getting his steps in all day long, going backwards and from one side of the stage to the other. And we have our guest soloist who's getting a couple of

instruments here as well. Uh but our next piece um is a French carol called Bring a Torch, Janette Isabella. Some of you may have heard it. Uh I hope you enjoyed Fairies, which was a little Tchaikovski from uh The Nutcracker. Um after Janette uh after bring a tour Janette we will play uh Silent Night which is a truly beautiful arrangement. Um I don't know if you all know the history behind Silent Night but um it's really quite special. So, I'll uh I'll come back and let you know about that when we finish. Bring a torch. Hallelujah. >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. >> [music] >> Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. >> [applause] >> Thank you. A few more people to add to this. Uh you probably noticed already this is not just strings. Um I'm thrilled

to be able to have some members of the band, percussion and wind. And now we're also going to include some of the chamber choir as well. Um, this arrangement of Silent Night to me seems to conjure up the images of when it was first composed. For those of you who don't know, uh, France Gruber, an Austrian um, an Austrian pastor, had checked on the church organ the night before for their Christmas Eve concert and discovered that the mice had eaten through the bellows. So now he had a big problem. No music for Christmas Eve. So he went back home, picked up his guitar, and supposedly picked uh the tune out of the air as he was looking out of his window at the snow and the forest. And uh the result was one of the

most beautiful carols we know. And this particular arrangement to me really seems to explain how Gruber must have felt and the thoughts that were going through his mind as he composed it. >> [music] [music] >> Oh, heat. Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. >> [bell] [bell] [applause] >> Uh you could hear how good they are this year. All of them. Um thank you. [applause] I would like to mention a few of us uh who have done really well this year uh and have played in representative or are chosen to play in representative orchestras uh South Jersey band and orchestra directors uh which will be in January of next year and we we've already had a couple of students playing in a Philadelphia youth youth orchestra as well. So, I would like all of those who are accepted

into the Philly Youth Orchestra, uh, played in the Philly Youth Orchestra and accepted in the South Jersey, please stand up. So, [applause] Ronan, Annabella, Nissa, Kyra, Olivia, Isabella, Veronica. [applause] No, you stand, stand. Um, fantastic guys, all of you. Tremendous, tremendous work. Well done, Victor Luke and our youngest Landon who's joined us from the middle school here today as well. Outstanding guys. Outstanding. [applause] Our last piece um is a piece that the TSO plays, the Transiberian Orchestra. Um if you've seen them, they are an amazing show. Lights, pyro technics, fantastic, lots of energy. Hopefully we can give you a similar type of energy, but no pyrochnics. Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] >> Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music]

Play on your heart. Hallelu [singing] on your heart. Hallelu. Hallelu. [singing and music] David was a shepher. He killed [singing] and he shouted for joy. [music] David [singing] [music] and he shouted for joy. David play [singing] on your hallelu [music] David on your heart [singing] [music] on your heart [singing and music] [singing] of God [music] till his Joshua [singing and music] [singing] [music] David [singing] sing [music] on your [singing and music] heart. This is an audition group and the next song that we are going to be performing is entitled Blow Blow Thou Winter Wind. A beautiful setting of Shakespeare text by the coral legend John Ruer. >> [singing] >> The wind blow [music] [singing] the Not so unkind. is not so thy breath. All thy birth [singing] singho [singing and music] most friendship is fading most [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] char. Freeze the sky [music] the [music] sky. [singing] that does the fight [music] so as benefits for God. [singing] has been [music] a [singing] for God. [singing] [music] >> [singing] >> God [music] singship [singing] [music] is made. [singing] and [singing] the

Uh so, grab a flyer in the back if you'd like to come and help support the choir. We are performing in Delran even though there's not one in Cinnamonson. Uh because there's no space inside the one in Cinnamonson for our choir to perform. We will be performing at 6:00. However, the fundraiser takes place from 5 to

00 p.m. Simply say you're part of the Cinnamonson choir fundraiser or bring that flyer with you and a portion of your sale will come back to us. It works on both drive-thru or in the store.
